Omnitron numbering

OK, so I think it's safe to assume that Omnitron as included in the core game set is version I, and Cosmic Omnitron is Omnitron-II.  And we know that Omnitron-X is a hundred years down the line.  But with those said...  How did we get to Omnitron-V so quickly?

Inference based on Tactics-kickstarter lore post:  OmniBlade = Omnitron-III.

Which... still leaves us not knowing what Omnitron-IV is, and that still has an awfully long period of time between Omnitron-V and Omnitron-X.

Omnitron was shut down for a while, and when he turned back on he had to sit still and wait three hours for his systems to fully update.

And then it turned out the new software had wiped all his drivers, so he spent ages tracking them all down again...

Freakin Windows.

Not to mention the Qubrin tech support he had to deal with.

Have you tried turning him off and on again?

I assumed Parse probably ended up becoming Omnitron IV at some point...

Someone already had done, it just looked like something else.

Omnitron is actually Guise.  That's how good Guise is, he recreates himself as a giant robot that then makes itself look like guise, just to confuse people more.

I haven’t sat down and counted but omni gets mentions in enough environments and hero decks to show more than four encounters. So think of it like major version changes.

So there may have been Omnitron III go through several interations like v. 3.1.3 v.3.1.4 v.3.2 v.3.3 so on and so forth. Firmware and what not before a full version upgrade.

Hmm... If Omni-Blade is III, then it would be a bit odd to skip IV and only IV. Perhaps, since Big Ol' Cosmonautilus has played with him before, him #4 is going to feature in the SotM end-game?

You guys are assuming that the Omitron from the base set is Omnitron 1, I guess. 

I’m with meerkat, I think when the Cosmonautilus shows up, a lot of villains will get a promo. I also think a hero or 2 will switch sides, causing the crack down on superhumans

Especially since his backstory is him becoming self-aware, and it's hard to imagine an Omnitron before that...

There was the old school, pre-AI Omnitron.

He fought by making human employees obsolete and driving up unemployment.  The heroes had to try and find jobs for workers, it was a horrible mechanic and ended up being scrapped in favor of the sentient destroyer of cities.

He told me he reads every bit of every single thread. He's absolutely watching us...

...and laughing.

Christopher is Omnitron. He lives in the machine. He has a robot body he temporarily downloads into to make public appearances. Good thing his focus seems to be on making games rather than enslaving and destroying mankind...unless this is all part of the plan.

I'm pretty enslaved to Sentinels, and I dread to think what would happen if I introduced it to my military buddies!

Okay, I don't know how many of you have tactics yet, but on page 1 of the scenario comic (awesome work by the way!), is that supposed to be part of Omnitron IV or X ?

I think it is Omnitron-X.

I don't think it is Omnitron-X.  The color scheme is right, but the Light Blue at the top doesn't come down far enough, and the shape of the lower half of the face doesn't lend itself to the single large central Eye and narrow defined chin of Omnitron-X.

I think it might be from Omnitron IV, because [REDACTED].

Note that it has taken quite the beating. Also the text "Your input has been most invaluable…", to me that implies he has learned quite a bit from it.

OK, so the start of the tactics scenario is Omnitron-IV gaining the ability to reform itself by assimilating Omniron-X.  That makes sense.  Should have read it all.

From the wiki page it sound like it is only implying they can exist at the same time, but I guess if I recall Omnitron Xs incap side of SOTM, he was being taken over. Wow, his own advanced self didn't make it through.

I had to go back and read that page like half a dozen times, just to make sure I was seeing what I thought. Christopher seemed quite satisfied at my wide eyes.
