I feel like AbZ got left out though.  The others had some modification to their appearance but AbZ looks the same.

Or the Iron Legacy saga. The first episode is where Legacy dies and Young Legacy steps into his shoes. Tachyon doesn’t take it well and speeds faster and faster til she ends up in the alternate time line. There she spends a couple episodes beating him with the freedom 6. The final episode is where tachyon comes back a few weeks before legacy dies and iron legacy follows. Then the events from Beacon’s story happens

I agree. The Bruce Timm DCAU are pretty much my favorite "childhood/teenage shows that I still go back and watch" (I'm not sure thats a real thing, but I do still think that they were fantastic.)

Young Justice was pretty fantastic too.

Haha, I'v only seen a few episodes of the first season. But it was certainly the standout aspect of those episodes. You could make a nice bubble bath with how soapy that show is.

Edit: I mean don't get me wrong, its no Hallway scene from Old Boy, but its not bad considering the type of show it is.

I enjoy Arrow, but mainly for the punching and shooting.

I started watching Arrow wondering why someone who do such a rip-off of Batman... Then saw it was a DC comic which baffled me further!

It's functional, but not something I'd recommend - the characters are bland, and whilst the choreography is decent, I couldn't really care about anybody involved in the fights

How much did you watch? The first half of the first season was fairly bland. However, starting around episode 13 of the first season, it has gotten really good. The second season is for the most part fantastic

I'm still watching it - and still couldn't care much for the characters! It doesn't help that I've recently been watching things like Friday Night Lights and The Almighty Johnsons which were incredibly strong on character

Arrow is good if you enjoy the soap opera style drama.

Really folks, the fight scenes are alright, no one is watching a show for fight scenes that are alright.  Just go look up some bizarre Kung-fu movie you haven't seen yet if you just want some fight scenes that aren't bad.

Comic books are ripe with Soap Opera drama, and so are comic book based TV shows.  The reason we love them is because on some level we are suckers for a super hero with some drama in their life.

Seriously, if you like Spiderman or the X-men and you just said "that ain't me" you need to have a long look in the mirror right about now.

With Spider-Man you might have a point, but I like the X-Men for very different reasons and I could stand for it to be a fair bit less soapy.  And in general I prefer DC to Marvel on average anyway.

At least Peter Parker acts like he cares about the people in his life (Amazing Spider-Man being an exception). Everyone is so hateful, passive-aggressive, and relentlessly inconsiderate on Arrow. And the fight scenes are quite impressive for a live action costumed hero show. Are they the best in the costumed/super hero genre? Not even close. But that aspect of it is much, much stronger than the melodrama.

I don’t dislike the show, but the part of it I dislike is the same as many of DC’s other live-action endeavors: There is no levity. Tony Stark cracks jokes. Steve Rogers fumbles around a pretty girl. Thor trades quips with his best frenemy brother. But Arrow and Man of Steel? There is very little fun to be had.

At least if you go back to Smallville, you get a certain lightness…not much in the way of humor, but a lot of somewhat charming character interaction and not just constant grimness.  I think that the campiness of the old Batman and Superman TV shows and humors has left DC in general a little gun-shy about trying to make their characters funny.  Which, of course, they shouldn't; real humor almost never arises from effort in that direction, but rather from talent and spontaneity that some people just don't have.  When people who aren't funny get told by the network that they have to write comedy, bad things happen; the networks have never managed to figure this out.

The studios haven't either. If you look at the progression of funny, quirky, witty, but still badass characters in movies you see that once the studios realize what it is about a character and start trying to write to those traits they start to fail. Look at Tony Stark... from first movie to third movie his character almost becomes a caricature of himself. Subtlety and nuance brought in by an actor putting his spin on a part was hindered by the fact that writers started to try to throw in those subtleties and nuances into the part. Same thing happened with Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow. 

Indeed.  Rather like the goose that laid the golden eggs - the farmer refused to believe that the goose was the important part, and needed to be left alone to do her work.  A certain type of person is always convinced that they can take shortcuts, have it all right now, and not have to pay a price.  Tragic.
