Does anybody else have plans for eclipse watching? I’m going to St. Louis (well, south of St Louis really) for the day.

I'm going to Tennessee, where my mom lives, to watch it.

Not sure yet we will see. Plan to check it out though if I can. Make sure to know where you are going to watch it though and be ready for those areas to be insane. My town is on the path and they are predicting the town to quadruple in size for the eclipse. This will be a large logistic nightmare.

An excellent suggestion.  I was planning on just driving south from St. Louis until we reached the center, but a little bit more preparation is probably in order.

The nearest opportunity for us will probably be Casper, Wyoming. I could add a new state to my list!

i would recommend checking around in St. Louis for some events. Some cities in the path are trying to corral everyone into one place with festivals and stuff to try and take some pressure off. I know that's what they are doing here. I need to find out from my employer if I can have it off to go watch it because I don't think I will be in totality anymore

I wish it would be declared a national holiday so people could go out and see it, but more than likely the president will think it's a magical snake eating the sun and try and cause a panic or go on a twitter rant about who knows what.
