I'm hoping Christopher releases the results of his new Letters Page survey down the road, as I'd be interested to see them.
I get the impression that the regulars tend to mostly fall in the "men ages 20s to 30s" bracket, but it'd be interesting to see what the wider fandom is like.

EDIT: weird that it asks for your email address. Not sure why they need to link specific users to their annual household income, for instance. I almost didn't complete the survey because of that. It should be anonymous.
I did the survey without including an email address. Easy to leave out information you dont want to share.
I didn't include email address, but it was a little weird that I had to specify income or could not submit the survey.
I'm fine with income if it's not being attached to my email!

So far, the data we are getting seems to line up with your suspicions about SotM fan demographics.
Well, I'm definitely older than that. Arguably by a lot, depending on exactly when you're looking at in the age bracket Jeysie mentioned.
I did have a look at this survey but I can't really answer the last two questions and it won't let me submit it wihout doing so - the Education one seems based around American education so I have no idea where mine fits into that, and household income I just don't know (I know my income but not that of anyone else I live with), plus again it's Americanised so bleh :P.
@jffdougan: Basically I felt like the SotM demographic seemed to be guys ages 20 to 40, weighted mostly in the "25 to 35" bracket specifically. (I'm a woman in my late 30s, but I'm used to being one of the few girls in a fandom anyway.)
@ameena: High school is ages 17-18, your last section of government mandated/funded education before university. Trade/technical school is when you get trained in blue-collar jobs, usually. You get certifications rather than a degree. Everything else is gradations of university. Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, PhD.
Might as well just give your own income. Google gives pretty quick conversions, if that helps. (Type in "[number] [currency code] to USD". Like "1 EUR to USD" for example.)
I don't know what's meant by "blue collar jobs". I finished school, including Sixth Form and then did two years of Further Eduction (as opposed to Higher Education) at college but never bothered with university.
Just seems like a really weird couple of questions to put on a survey about people who play a card game...
Welcome to Demographic surveys. This is pretty standard for any type of survey I've done getting demographic information. I will say I don't understand why they made this entirely geared towards the US if they knew anything about SotM players.
Blue-collar jobs = Stuff like factory work, construction, electricians, cosmetology, nursing, and so on. Working class, I guess would be a more universal term? In contrast to white-collar jobs like finance, office work, academia, full medical doctors.
It's pretty standard for a company to ask for stuff like income and education level; it lets them get an idea of what to develop for future products and at what price points. Having a fandom full of people who make low-to-middle incomes that mostly work with their hands is going to suggest a different culture market than, say, high-paid scientists or financiers.
I do agree that having it be heavily US-based is an issue, though. I knew that youth-level schooling differed a great deal in other countries, but I never realized that higher education did, too.
In this case, it's the company handling the podcast distribution. I get the impression it's that they need to know who to target advertisements for the podcast towards.
Yeah the questions on the survey are entirely from the hosting company for the podcast; we have nothing to do with writing them :)
