Happy Chanukkah!
Happy Chanukkah!
Yup. Happy [insert holiday of your choice here], from a person who is entirely failing to get into any kind of festive spirit this year.
You guys are having fun though, right? Tell me you're having fun!
So far, and it's only been an hour.
Happy Hanukkah to you as well! Also, Merry Hanukkah, Happy Christmas, and have a wonderful all-of-the-other-winter-holidays, whether or not you celebrate them.
My time sense for Hanukkah is a bit off this year, because I'm traveling home tomorrow, so I keep forgetting that the holiday starts tonight.
Because I'm gladly a killjoy for all winter holidays equally, I offer my heartiest "Bah" and "Humbug."
Happy Festivus for the rest of us
I am planning to give presents to my loved ones, eat a huge turkey dinner, make more desserts than my mostly dessert-indifferent family will eat (because I like them and I love making them and I made this goddamn salted caramel Oreo cheesecake and YOU WILL EAT IT BECAUSE I MADE IT AND IT'S DELICIOUS), play Dixit at my non-gaming Dad's yearly request, coerce my MtG-playing brother to try Spirit Island, have at least one mild argument with a family member or my boyfriend, and happily consume turkey leftovers for several days.
Otherwise it's business as usual. And by business as usual I mean not actually doing very much.
I do celebrate Hanukkah, so thanks! Over the next few nights I'll be gifting Sentinels a couple of times (Daughter is getting a Kindle Fire w/ the app and neice/nephews are getting the core set).
Happy Superhero (or villain) Holidays to all!
I’m glad someone had the good sense to represent Ben Grimm. That guy is dope.
Any Sentinels characters that celebrate Chanukkah to our knowledge?
Dunno, Unity maybe? She's got a Hebrew name (apparently Devra means bee- heh!) and is from Israel.
The Wraith, totally.
The Deputy, maybe.
Also, the Golem was originally a Jewish myth.
Still circumstantial evidence, but I think I'm convinced.
Unity is DEFINITELY Jewish.
Well, there you have it!
My girlfriend is Jewish and Unity is her favorite character! Very cool to know!
You mean in terms of her ethnicity, culture, or religion (or combination of some or all of these)?
I have a friend who is Jewish because her parents are Jewish and she was brought up Jewish. But she's now also Catholic.
I once knew a princess that was druish.
Sounds like a question for the podcast.
funny. She didn't look druish.
On Saturday, I gave my neice and nephews a copy of the core set for Hanukkah. My daughter and I had a great time teaching them the game. Amusingly, the younger nephew, age 12, was continually asking about breaking the sturcture of the game and was fascinated with whether he could attack other heroes instead of the villain.
He's been possessed by Ronway! Quick, call the rabbi!
Happy Chanukkah!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
This thread is repeating!
Happy Chanukkah! Back at you!
Happy Chanukkah!
Remember, everybody: keep the Han in Hanukkah!
My wife gave me Pandemic: Legacy and I gave her Castles of Mad King Ludwig. We’re super excited. (If a little terrified, in the case of Pandemic!)
Happy Chrisma-chanu-kwanzaa-kah!
And a Happy New Year!
