As a former martial artist myself, I believe that a website can't teach you anywhere near as well as a properly-qualified martial arts instructor.
Also this should be in the "Off Topic" forum, since it isn't related to Greater Than Games at all.
I concur with Silverleaf. Also, many schools allow interested parties a free initial day to see if the school and them would be a good match.
You should decide what you want to learn a martial art for. Self defence, looking cool, or competitions are the big ones I can think of. After you decide then look into finding someone to teach you.
I did Kung Fu in college as a form of meditation.
Stress management and exercise are also two popular reasons, and will lead you down very different paths than things like self defense and competition.
