Sooo, I thought I'd post this here and see if anyone was interested. Someone I know from another forum has been making his own game (with the help of some other people, including myself) over the course of the past...erm, couple of years I think, maybe. Anyway, it's been out in Alpha form for ages and has finally made it onto Steam. People who pre-ordered (or helped in the development in some way) got three Steam keys as a reward. I've used one myself and given the second to Ja'Ph', which means I have a third one going spare.
The game in question is called Dwelvers. The developer, a guy called Rasmus, put it together as a homage to both the Dungeon Keeper and Settlers games - you're the master of a dungeon, you get your imps to dig out tiles so you can build rooms. You recruit creatures and have to provide stuff like food, beer, and gold to keep them happy so they don't rebel while you train them up and explore further, digging out dungeons inhabited by "wild" creatures and portals to the surface guarded by knights and stuff. The Settlers part comes in because you can set up production chains and stuff to make sure all the stuff you need gets, well, produced :).
If anyone is interested, just say so here and in the event that more than one person is interested, whoever gets there first will get the key. Because how else do I decide whom to give it to? ;)

Heh. I like the idea that you make stamina potions out of fried chicken: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img845/6682/1chv.jpg
I spend so little time playing computer games that it would be a waste to give it to me but I might check it out at some point as I used to like both Settlers and Dungeon Keeper back in the day.

The game is currently only £8.79 anyway (reduced from £10.99) probably as a kind of Early Access offer thingy. It's had a lot of good feedback in the past. The ones who didn't leave good feedback seemed to mainly consist of those who'd missed the "homage to DK and Settlers games" part (which is prominently mentioned in the game's description on the website, or at least was at the time) and were complaining that it was a "rip-off/clone" of DK, lol.

I'd be up for something combining both of the mainstays of my childhood. If you still have the key. If not, I might buy it anyway.

So I was just chatting to Rasmus (the guy behind Dwelvers) about how nice the reviews are looking on Steam and I said how I'd managed to find homes for all my keys...and he went ahead and gave me ten more so if anyone else is interested, give me a shout. I'm gonna be offering them on another forum or two as well but I expect I can get hold of even more if I should run out. Rasmus has also just told me that he might pop along himself if it sounds like people are talking about the game a lot and stuff :). So if anyone wants a key, let me know in this thread and I'll PM it right on over to you :).
To mods/admins - This isn't bordering on spam or anything, is it? I'm just trying to get the word about a game an online friend is making but if it's breaking any rules then let me know.

Excellent! I'll probably try it out as soon as it is done downloading. Which just happened as I am typing this, so as soon as I push save, I will be playing it.

Cool, let us know how you get on :).
Strangely, I myself haven't actually ever got round to playing the game yet lol. At least I have actually downloaded it now, though ;). I've also had some input into how the game was put together and stuff and will be writing the background fluff once a campaign storyline is being put together :).

As it happens, I have just two keys left...so they can go to you two. If Rasmus gives me any more I'll be sure to mention it, in case anyone else wants one :).
