So I rather like Love Letter, but I'm not that keen on the original art and I absolutely detest the remake art. I don't think I could stand to look at either one for very long.
And I love Sentinels, and I have a Love Letter-sized hole in the Printer's Studio order I'm putting together to take advantage of the current coupon...
So what I need to work out is, which character for which role? And what's the theme? Of course in regular LL you're trying to get enough letters to the princess that she falls in love with you, but that wouldn't work here. Any thoughts/suggestions/random abuse?
5 x Guard (1) - guess another player's hand, if you're right they are out of the round. 5 different characters here would be fun.
2 x Priest (2) - look at another player's hand. Visionary and, er, someone else who could maybe predict stuff in some way, maybe?
2 x Baron (3) - compare hands with another player, player with lower card is out of the round.
2 x Handmaiden (4) - immunity to effects. I'm thinking Legacy (Lead from the Front) and Wraith (Smoke Bombs)?
2 x Prince (5) - one player (can target self) discards hand and draws a new card. Perhaps Fanatic (End of Days) and Parse (Buffer Overflow)?
1 x King (6) - swap hands with another player.
1 x Countess (7) - must discard if in hand with King or Prince.
1 x Princess (8) - if discarded, player is out of the round.
Disclaimer: this will be for personal use only, and the Love Letter guys are okay with rethemes as long as they aren't shared. Nothing stopping anyone else making their own version though, right? To support the publishers I'll buy a copy of the game and give it away as a gift so I don't have to look at it. Man, that art is fugly.
