Okay guys, I'm looking for some simple house-rule ideas to common questions.  Let me reinforce the idea: simple ideas.  Here are some ideas I think work but I'd love to hear other ideas:

1. Making Ambuscade Better:  Double his HP and the amount of cards he plays every turn.

2. Two Hero Variant game:  Increase both heroes HP by 15, each turn one hero gets an extra power and the other draws an extra card, the following turn they switch.

3. Playing against multiple villians (other than V5):  Very tough because of the diversity amongst the villians.  I know HP isn't everything, but my best guess is to divide the individual villian's HP by the total number of villians.

For the designers who may happen to read this thread, I want to say this isn't meant to be critical as SotM is by far my favorite game.  That's why I called the thread "simple ideas" not "simple solutions."  I don't think the game has problems, but sometimes people may want to just play it a little differently!

Anyone else have some ideas?  Anyone willing to try these (or some other ideas that may be posted) and share thier experience?  I've already tried the two-hero variant and its worked great.  I'd really like to hear some other ideas.

You may want to hold off on the V5 suggestions until, you know, you actually see how they function. I'll tell you right now that won't work out the way you want it to  :stuck_out_tongue:

Bah. I feel like a stormy little raincloud now  . I didn't mean to imply that you should delete them. Just letting you know playing each of them solo will require a bit more houseruling, and each memeber would need a different set of alternate rules to function in a satisfying way.

Ha, I didn't take it that way!  :)  I was asking for feedback and you gave it.  I appreciate it.

I just can't wait to get my hands on the decks and explore them, and then start making custom Vengeance-style villain decks.

The citizens of the Dawn need their version of the Vengeance crew.  It will happen.  14 decks is doable.  Or maybe just each group as a deck, so 6 that way.

Next we need vengeance style Environment decks.  Insula Primalis with the T-Rex deck, a Raptor Deck, Annoying Plants deck, Lava deck and Pterydactyl deck.

Let's do it!

All fear the mighty wrath of the Tumbleweed deck!!!

wwwwwooooooooooooo. . . . (sound of wind blowing over the desert, no expense spared.)

Didn't someone post a version that was only minions and see how long you could survive? I'm interested in finding that one as I want to try it out. Also I tried a similar dual villain idea... yeah didnt work well but that was a while ago I may ty again.

It was something along the lines of putting all targets from Environments into one giant deck and constantly cycling the deck.

The rule "Whenever the villain deck is shuffled, play the top card of the villain deck" makes Ambuscade a bit more threatening. Set a trap? Play a card. Search for Cloaking Device? Play a card. Deck empty? Shuffle trash and play a card. Or you could just have him play multiple cards per turn.

I tried doing Voss and Baron Blade vs 7 heroes a while back… It took a while, but it was pretty easy.
