This s a somewhat random thought but, why don't the Vengeance characters have a first appearance listed? How are we supposed to unravel the intricate complexities of the timeline without this crucial information?
Of course, the obvious reason is to wait and build more buzz closer to Vengeance's actual stret date, but since when has the obvios been true in this corner of the Multiverse?

When I saw your subject line, I thought you meant appearances on the cards. Now that I've read your answer, I'm not sure.
As for the other, I know that Friction and Proletariat both have appearances in the core set. I'm not sure about Ermine or Fright Train.

I believe Mr. watson1974 is referring to their first appearances in the Sentinels Comics canon rather than their first appearances in the card game.

Mr Watson1974 is indeed referring to the First Appearance line in the official biography.
For the cards, all of the Vengeful Five, with the exception of Ermine, appeared in the base set:
Fright Train on Flak Cannon, Maintenance Level
Proletariat on Coolant Blast, Lead from the Front
Friction on Fleet of Foot
Ermine's first card was Rook City Wraith's incapacitated side, and her first appearance in a deck was on Isolated Hero in Miss Information's deck

Yeah, my opening was poorly phrased because I got called over by a student for a question & didn't look it back over. I should clarify that to mean "I'm not sure what the answer is to the question that you asked."

I'm glad Mr. Watson1974 is referring to himself in the third person, and with his (presumably birth year?) attached, as well.

For heroes, Mainstay, Writhe, and Setback all appear in the decks of Iron Legacy, Tachyon, and Kismet respectively.

Untrue; Setback appears for the first time in Expatriette's deck, on the card Shock Rounds.
