Hey guys,
As an avid fan of all that is >G, I am looking forward to everything they have on the horizon (most notably Vengeance and GSF). I know the guys themselves are crazy busy with convention season, but I was wondering if anyone else in the know could kind of give a status report as far as Vengeance and GSF go. How is playtesting going? Almost done? Are they still both on schedule to make it out by October? or will one or both of them be delayed? Any info of any kind would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey, I haven't been on for a while so I was wondering what the status was of the preorder for Vengeance?
I know we were told July so I started checking the store and have found nothing so far. Was there still going to be a preorder period?

Should be very soon - they're planning to have it up after they get back from PAX Australia, per Paul's earlier post.

Also what is the board game with SotM mini's pictured at he bottom of this Kickstarter?
OMG! It's like someone reached into my head and pulled out my dreams. It's impossible to tell what's going on there but it certainly seems like an SotM minis game. It says it's in the Alpha stage so it's probably very far off but that could certainly be the other project using the SotM IP that was mentioned.
To answer Rabit's question, it's Christopher playing and you can clearly make out the Freedom Five minis on the board. Woot!

O.M.F.G.
You can clearly identify Tachyon and Legacy are game pieces. This HAS to be the project that >G has been alluding to that extends the SotM universe past the final expansion for the card game.
Just from the picture, I am getting a very heavy Arkham Horror vibe. Mostly it has to do with how that board is layed out. Also I see a ton of mini cards, markers, tokens and more die than you can shake a stick at which all add to that impression. This is not entirly surprising but completly unexpected.

Also, the photo says that the other designer is Richard Launius, who is the creator of Arkham Horror. Given that Arkham is my 2nd favorite game, this is definitely something that would be awesome!

I missed that one! Great catch! I HAVE to wonder if Richard is more involved with this than just "playtesting" an alpha build. As I said above, the first thing my mind thought of when looking at that picture is how eerily similar that board is layed out to the current version of Arkham Horror. Not to mention the myriad of dice, tiny cards, character cards, tokens and what have you.

I have this on no good authority, but I believe that is still the time table. Two more normal sized expansions and that will wrap up the card game. It will be a sad day indeed.

The pre order has not been set up yet. We are working on two things before we make this happen:
1) Working out a few minor bugs related to the new credit card payment system on our store.
2) Putting together character bio information for simultaneous release with the pre-order.
We currently plan to have the pre-order up before Gen Con. Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience!

As much as I like Sentinels, I feel that GtG is letting us (fans? me?) down in terms of communication. Delays after delays. Now I don't even feel confident if they can deliver everything by Feb 14. Being a small company isn't an excuse. Project resources need to be properly prioritized and managed.

How do you know they aren't?
It seems what they are most lacking right now is time to make regular comments on the board. So beyond that, we have no idea how they are managing their time. I'd like to believe that they are working on getting GSF and Vengeance finalized, along with arranging new print runs of older product.
They do need to sleep some time.

Unfortunatley, delays happen. That is the reality of manufacturing. To assume it has to be caused by a poor workload is not only mildly ignorant of how the manufacturing proccess works but also a bit insulting. You are not entitled to constant communication from them. I don't mean to say that you really feel that way, but that is how it comes across.
With that said, Veangence is extremely close to final proofs. GSF will need a bit more time in the oven but that is to be expected with a whole new game system to iron kinks out of.
Edit: Fixed crucial typo

More Vengeance info, including pre-orders, will happen next week.
We have been working on catching up from conventions and getting various out of print products and nearly out of print products (Enhanced Edition, Rook City, Infernal Relics, etc) off to the printer so that we have restocks before Christmas. We've also been working on a few unannounced cool things that will be mentioned in due time.
We definitely believe that communication is important, and realize that it has been a bit sparse the past few months. We have unfortunately had to choose between getting things done, and talking about what we are doing. It is a rough trade off to have to make, but ultimately we belive that you'll be pleased with the results!
On the up side, this episode of extreme business has really helped us to streamline our workflow, which should make future projects much easlier for us (and more communication-filled for you!) For all of you programmers out there, we have essentially spent time doing the project management equivalent of refactoring our code base to be more maintainable and extensible. We still have a bit of a backlog (Vengeance and GSF most notably), but the light at the end of the tunnel is clearly visible.
Anyhow, I hope that helps explain things somewhat. And stay tuned for Vengeance bios and pre-orders next week!

See what you people have turned me into?
Although I love board games and I keep up with what's going on in that world in terms of new releases, expansions, etc., I have never been terribly interested in news that's basically just background fluff like this. Until now.
Now I'm actually really excited to read the bios and see the art and find out how people will react to the new heroes and maybe even speculate a bit. I've already bored everyone I know by expressing my excitement about Vengeance far too many times.
My name's Silverleaf, and I think I might be a fangirl.
And I'm not even into superheroes!

Since this is a mega-box, my first question would be: how Many heroes are we getting?
The other expansions have been 2 each, obviously. I recall hearing 4 from somewhere, but I could be totally hallucinating that.
If I had to guess, I'd guess these four:
Some type of Hawkeye/Green Arrow archer character.
Some type of shapeshifty Beast Boy-type character.
"Twitchy", with some kind of probability control (he'll have the dice icon as his)
A size-changing female Thorathian, a la Giganta. Might be combined with #2.
I'm not a playtester, but I have been following the speculation threads...

Wild speculation! I want in! :D
Twitchy, Mainstay (who will vaguely fit the 'shapeshifter' role by having different forms to switch between, eg. the biker in Iron Legacy's deck and the dude on Silver Shadow) (also La Cap's nemesis), druid-type woman (possibly plant or animal control, and also possibly with a lot of start-of-turn possibilities), some kind of damage powerhouse (possibly an archer, and probably female), aaand... let's say the massive Thorathian from the Dreamer's deck.

Ooh, I forgot about biker guy!
I'm betting he'll be Mainstay--the enigmatic 5th from my list above. I'd put money on him being a Lobo/Ghost Rider type dude--lots of chains, hooks, and knives, with some type of motorcycle or other vehicle, which could be represented like Turret Mode or Pushing the Limits. I'd also bank on him having a lot of one-shots, instead of ongoings.
I do not, however, think he's the same guy on Silver Shadow. My money is that Twitchy has multiple costumes and that he's both on Shock Rounds and on Silver Shadow.

Yeah, but you turned them into crochet superheroes, now you are sunk.
As for Wild Speculation, I think all of the new heroes will be either overpowered or underpowered, and likely lead to days of complaining until people learn how to play them. Also I am probably going to love Fright Train, we need a battering ram of a villain.

I'm guessing that one is a half robot, half human with incredible robot assisted strengh. Another will have the ability to change forms into any animal he pleases. Yet another will be an alien from a distant planet with strange customs and fairly naive of customs on Earth. Then there will be one who is the offspring of the most powerful evil force of the entire multiverse, but is an adolecent rebel, and thus fights on the side of the heroes. And finally, an acrobat who is very knowledgeable and has a very good detective background.
Oh, wait.....
