Kismet's Heirloom

Another quick clarification question…

When the heirloom flips and is in play in front of a hero does it become a hero target? My instinct is yes (and this is the way my wife and I played it) but a clarification on this is very important since there are so many "non-hero" and "non-villian" damaging effects in the game. Our logic is that if the hero's gain benefits from the card it is a hero target and if Kismet gains benefits then it is a villian target. But again, we want to ensure that every victory we have is ligitimate–after all, real heros never cheat! 

Nope, the card is always part of Kismet's deck, and thus is a villain target, just like the items in the Tomb of Anubis are always environment cards.

Also, if it comes up, the Talisman counts as a villain character card, not just a villain card, because it flips and doesn't have a regular deck back like normal villain cards.  There are some things you can't do to character cards, so it could come up in a game for you.
