Received, sleeved, ready for play tonight!

How did I get 'em this quick? Nothing special, I assure you. My first name starts with 'A', so I was early in the process, Indianapolis is relatively close to St. Louis, and I happened to go home for lunch, so was there when Fedex dropped off the delivery.

Couldn't figure out how to embed an uploaded image. If you're curious, the attached image shows the briefcase I use to store Sentinels. Still working great with these additions, but no way it will hold Vengeance.

Nice and Congrats!  I think I'll have to add a row for vengance, eventually, but the new heroes, etc., should fit in my Harbor Freight equipment box.  Did yo knit the chainmail dicebag yourself?  My mother-in-law gave me one for Christmas last year.

My MiL gets me.  How cool is that?

If it's being done by username then yay, I'm an A. However, I'm presuming I'll get mine somewhat later than loads of other people due to living about 3000 or so miles away on the other side of the Atlantic :P.

I've heard that we're getting FedEx tracking info this time around, but even though my last name starts with "B", I haven't received anything even though "A"s are already receiving their boxes.  I'm going to try hard to not be as irritated by the process this time around as last time, but I can already tell it's going to be difficult.

No kidding.  Next time, I'll be Aaron Aaronson.  Lesson learned. ;)

If it's based on first name (which makes no sense, but moving on...), then I'll settle in for a wait.  Mine's middle of the alphabet.

I know the wait will be hard, but it's already being sent out way ahead of schedule, so I'm just gonna assume two more weeks and TRY not sweat it too much.

These guys have to mail out hundreds and hundreds of boxes... maybe a couple thousand actually, so I'm not gonna judge their methods.

Just takes a metal rod, an electric drill, an angle grinder, a two by four, some bar clamps, some vices, two needle nose pliers, and an incredible amount of patience for doing the same thing over and over again until you have tendonitis and bizarre callouses.

It's like knitting, except with steel.

When I made my SCA armor, I did not go the way of chainmail.

My first name starts with "F" and I got my email on Monday that it had shipped.  FedEx says it should be here by Thursday.  Could it be based on backer level or timeliness of returning the backer survey?

Thir shipping priority is wrong since clearly mine should have been first!! :p

Joking aside...who cares on what order they are using? I would say that best one is purely random, but my guess is that they will sort by pledge levels (only ST, etc...) then those with strange a la carte, since they have to go one by one and put elements in. In any case, >G guys you are doing a great job! I think it is the first time a KS project has been delivered BEFORE schedule ;)

To the lucky ones...could you post a few pics of the bosses here, on youtube, or on BGG? I would love to get an idea of the mechanics, specially of strange ones like Miss-information, or the Scholar

Mine was strange a la carte (multiple expansions, extra decks, mini expansions) and it still shipped monday. If you look at the names of who got shipped already it has to be first name. The other factor was that I was additional allies level but I don't think that is it.

That's really sad if they're doing it in alphabetical order; I'm an 'S'.  (Though it would be even worse if they did it by last name, since I'm a 'W' there).  This is why I've always hated alphabetical order  :stuck_out_tongue:

i figure it is alpha order because they had to print all the packing slips in some order and first name was probably default since mailing labels are first name-last name, rather than last name-first name.

That said, the order isn't a big deal. at most you're talking a day or two difference...  and heck, in any case you're getting it WAY ahead of the promised date of May.

but i can also see the excitment and wanting it now. i'm just trying not to obsess over it and anxiously biding my time until my order gets here too (which won't be until after the kickstarter people get theres since i missed the kickstarter and just did an order from their website over the weekend)

Could be by geography.  Hadn't thought of that, but that seems complex.  arenson got his and lives near St. Louis. I should get mine tomorrow and live in Michigan. Anyone get a notification of shipment that lives a ways away?  I don't know why I even care about this but I do!

I very much doubt it's by Geography.  arenson9 lives in Indianapolis, which, while fairly close, is still about 250 miles away.  Also, I live maybe 5 miles away from arenson9, who already has his copy recieved, and I've not yet even gotten tracking information from FedEx yet.  So I really don't think it is by location.

Hmm if it's done by time, that's a possiblity - timezones could then come into play. I mean, if the survey thing was posted to people at some point during the evening, say, over in America, then that'd be the early hours of the morning for me and so I'd've been in bed - even replying to the survey as soon as I saw the e-mail in my inbox (which is what I did, naturally ;)), I was probably several hours behind the many many American people who probably got there first ;).

Oh well, I shall continue to get slightly excited every time I open my inbox, and then slightly excited again when I see my inbox is devoid of any kind of postal-tracking-sounding e-mail and check my trash folder instead (just in case) :D.

They're all being packed in order alphabetically by first name, because that's how Kickstart outputs the information. We COULD go through and spend time reordering the 2000+ individual backers in some other order, but we decided to not waste time doing that, as any order would be at least somewhat unfair to someone.

We also considered packing them all up and them shipping them all at once, that way you'd all get them in a much closer time fram to each other, but we just don't have space for that. Our 1700 square foot warehouse is FULL of games, and as we're emptying cases of games, we're buildling individual boxes of a game or two or three or more and a PILE of promos and mini-expansions, and those boxes start taking up space fast! So, we're doing daily pickups and the FedEx guy is always thrilled to see us! Mostly. Maybe.

Anyway, I can guarantee that you will get your game FAR before the May deadline, so no one has anything to worry about! Even the last person to get their game will get it weeks and weeks before we said you would! Hooray!

According to the Kickstarter update I just read, they're doing "domestic" shipping first - so presumably that's those on the same continent. So those of us across the pond will have to wait a bit. On the other hand, it also said that the international stuff has to go out by Friday. So maybe we'll have it by next week some time, yay :D.

Mine arrived today, but without oversized villain cards or the extra token pack. Email to Paul sent.

My friend and I just crushed Iron Legacy, but we got really lucky with two of his opening cards being basically blank while Team Leader Tachyon and Dark Visionary kept him (and the cryptids of the Final Wasteland) under control long enough for Young Legacy and The Scholar to put him out of his misery. We definitely saw how he could have been much, much worse.

But if you used Young Legacy that means you will always win since Young Legacy is immune to all of Iron Legacy's attacks. I mean why would he try to hurt the person who's death caused him to turn out like this? Shouldn't he be rejoicing that she was alive instead?

Does this mean that anyone who didn't become a fan until after the kickstarter was over and just ordered the expansion from the store won't see it for weeks and weeks? I only ask because the store states that for FedEx express orders there will be one day of processing before being shipped, and it seems that under the current circumstances it will take much longer than that (in fact, it already has taken three times longer than that, and I'm guessing it'll be much longer still). I'm kind of feeling like an idiot for paying for two day shipping since it's going to be a week at the soonest before I get my copy, maybe much longer. The delay is understandable, and I can't blame GTG for it, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating...

The Kickstarter list was on J on Wednesday. I suspect they will done with Kickstarter folks by Monday or Tuesday, I'm a T  :slightly_frowning_face: , so I'm still waiting. My guess is that you would get yours shipped next week. If you did two day shipping then you would probably get yours like next Friday. So not weeks and weeks, but sometime next week.

After three days of obsessing over every vehicle to drive down my street, my Shattered Timelines package finally arrived!

I tore the tape off the box, opened it, and it was like a scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark: A radiant light shone from the depths, a hauntingly beautiful aria rose surrounded me, and my brain melted a little from the sheer concentration of awesome within that deceptively humble cardboard.

You should check out the "Considering Unsleeving" thread in general discussion. There is a great idea for storage in an artist supply kit that I just put together tonight after a stop at Hobby Lobby. It was easy and fits everything with room to spare for at least one more expansion.

@International Backers

All of your orders have shipped, so you should be getting noticies (and packages!). I know that international shipping on this project was super expensive, but at least the fact that it is also super fast might make up for it a bit :)

@Domestic Backers

No one got any shipping notices over the weekend because FedEx does not do pickups on the weekend. We, however, do pack on the weekends (and in the middle of the night, and all day). We have now returned to packing Domestic Orders after taking a pause in the early "J"'s (alpha by *first* name, remember) to pack International Orders in order to get them out by the FedEx Express deadline (unlike Ground orders, Express orders *must* ship on the exact date pre-specified on the label). SInce the plurality of first names evidently start with "J", getting through those took a long time. All of the "J"s and the first half or so of the "K"'s will be shipped today. We will be working our way through the rest of the alphabet this week (we have about 700 boxes left to go out of the ~2000 or so that we started out with). The remaining letters with tons of names are M, R, S and T.

I was wondering about the storm thing, but it just said there was "a winter storm in..." and then a load of initial letter thingys that presumably stand for states or cities or whatever and therefore mean nothing to me (and even if they did, I have no idea where anywhere is in America relative to pretty much anywhere else). Mine hasn't left the USA yet either :(.

I've seen a few reports of people not getting tracking numbers, which bothers me, as we had worked with FedEx to make sure that every box shipped out automatically generated a tracking number that was then sent to the e-mail address you supplied in the Kickstarter backer survey. So, not sure what's happening there. However, I can either spend time looking into it OR pack boxes! Guess which one I'm going to do... *grin*

That said, things with this ship out are going much more smoothly than the last, and it looks like most of the packages are generating tracking numbers, so we'll look into making sure all of them get tracking number for the next big ship out! Which is likely to be Vengeance. Or Galactic Strike Force. Whichever ships first.

Back to boxes!

I had yet another look at my tracking update thingy this morning before I went to work (around 11am) and it said it was in Sittingbourne (just a few miles away), or en route from there to delivery actually. So I was kind of excited all day, and before I went out I told my mum that I was expecting a delivery that was probably gonna arrive later in the day and that she'd probably have to sign for it and stuff.

And I got home this evening and THERE WAS A BOX OD GOODIES ON MY BED.

AAAAAAHHH I HAVE THE BOX YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D :D :D. And I opened it and looked in at all the stuff, omg so much stuff, pictures and cards and decks of cards and oversized villain cards (woo now I have Cosmic Omnitron...pity they didn't release a Bomber Baron Blade one too, then I'd have both the promo villain guys) and token things (though I never use them), and erm erm, oh shit yeah, the other thing, Shattered Timelines as well :D.

So yes, my weekend will involve loads of playing of Sentinels (well, no changes there, then ;)) WITH THE NEW CARDS, WOOHOO!

And my partner doesn't even know that ST has been shipped to anyone, unless he's been checking the forum and has kept bloody quiet about it. I intend for him to find out when I open the box for us to play on (probably) Friday evening, and see how long it takes for him to notice the extra cards in there, and the fact that I'm carrying the dice bag separately as there's now no room in the box for it.

So if it doesn't come tomorrow, get a friend who didn't Kickstart to buy from a FLGS over the weekend, then you can look at their copy while you wait for yours. Unfortunately none of the local stores here in Virginia seem to carry Sentinals :(, or this would be my plan.

Matt from NJ officially recieved all kickstarter rewards today. I also recieved no tracking info. No problems on my end just wanted to relay the information so that people can get an idea of who's getting deliveries and where they are and extrapolate the data they need from that.

Also, expansion looks AMAZING and now I need to build a perfect super high tech lazer box to hold all my goodies.

Nice, and I waited until you where done shipping to put in an order for Rook City, which I accidentally destroyed in a super convoluted way.

(knocked a glass into the open box, since all my rook city was bunched together, those where the only water damaged cards).

We played our first games with the Shattered Timelines stuff tonight - getting to know the new heroes before we start with the new Villains and Environments. It's all good fun!

Anyway, I realised something and I just wanted to check - the new Legacy promo, America's Greatest Legacy...was that supposed to be included as a promo with these ones or is he coming out later? Because I didn't get him with all the other stuff...just the Freedom Six, Dark Visionary, and Eternal Haka.

I'm sure you're right, and I'll probably get mine today.  Still doesn't change how unpleasant this process is.

I have to admit that I think stopping the domestic shipments in the middle to fit in the international orders was a bad mistake.  If they'd put the internationals either first or last, I think that would have met most people's expectations.  But by putting them in the middle and disadvantaging half the domestic orders, when there was no expectation that they'd do so, I think they upset a huge proportion of their Kickstarters for no real gain.  The lack of tracking (again) just makes it worse.

S in Ohio again, FedEx stopped by extra early this morning to drop off my KS rewards!  A little sad that they forgot the oversized villain cards from the first three sets that I ordered, but I guess this means that I just have another shipment to look forward to.

Spiff, very sorry to hear that you're still waiting.  You're a huge asset to this community and it sucks to hear that the cruel hand of fate has placed you near the back of the line time time around.  I have confidence that GtG is going to learn from the mistakes made this time around, and a two week wait is pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things, but I know it's very little consolation when you're still waiting like this.  According to FedEx, you're four days from St. Louis (I'm two), so I see no reason why you shouldn't get your package today, since the M's were shipped out at least two days before the S's were.

I suppose that's true, the S.F. Bay Area is literally as far as you can get from St. Louis and still be in the continental U.S., so if I received mine dead last of everyone, that'd probably still be proper.  And of course, no one has died (yet) from my lack of cards, so it's not a huge deal in the overall.  Naturally, all will be forgiven once the box actually arrives.

Did you not see the update from paul? They had planned for Internationals to be last - The thing about international shipping is that it /must/ go out at the date they select before hand, and the miscalculated the amount of time it would take to pack domestics given all the different options - and with that knowledge they will not make that mistake in the future :stuck_out_tongue:

Look I love this game, and I think the Greater Than Games guys are good guys, but I agree with Spiff.

The shipping was really messed up.

Doing it Alphabetical is absolutely not the way to do this. It probably added days to the time it took them to ship everything.

Depending on FedEx to send out tracking numbers was also a mistake. The lack of these numbers causes stress and bad feelings all around.

I have confidence they will fix their problems, but I feel bad about all the good will that was squandered. Imagine if they had beat their deadline by two months and sent out all of their kickstarter packages in three days with tracking numbers.  Oh well, spilt milk at this point.

By the way Christopher, if you know when I should expect my package, T in Virginia, that would be much appreciated.

"R" in Illinois got mine on Friday the 15th. Of course, I'm practically right next door to St. Louis so I knew once it got shipped I'd get it almost immediately.

The impression that I'm getting from other people on these forums is that shipping to California seems to be slow. Glad I don't live there. Actually, I never appreciated living in the middle of the country until I started ordering stuff online, it never takes more than 2-3 days to get anything!

I'm disappointed I didn't actually get to try out my stuff yet though. Brought it to my friends over the weekend and we didn't get around to playing it.

Also, I had ~10 cards that were quite damaged straight out of the packaging. I sent an email to Paul but haven't gotten a response. I assume you guys are still busy so I'm not too worried right now. Should I expect a response or just look for replacement cards in the mail (I included my mailing info)?

Since I just sleeved all my SoTM cards (gotta protect my investment so I can pass the game on my currently nonexistant children someday) I'm good for now. I would just like to have them replaced eventually since they came straight out of the box with chewed up/mangled corners.

How so?  That's how they got the list printed off from Kickstarter.  Trying to sort that list another way would have added to their effort, and it wouldn't have changed the number of packages that need to go out, so I don't see how any ordering it any other way would save time.

Hindsight is 20/20.  There is no possible way that they could have anticipated this happening, especially with someone like FedEx.  And I'm pretty sure that if they had to email out the tracking numbers themselves, one by one, this process would have been far slower.

Vance, today.

Everyone should get their shipment this week.

youperguy, I agree. Here's the deal: straight-up talk time. (I'm feeling like responding to this, as I've been just ignoring it and packing packing PACKING straight for the last two weeks, but now I'll take a stand for our actions.)

Shipping them alphabetically was necessary. We had to ship them in some order, certainly, and we made a GIANT pile of shipping invoices (the ones included in your packages), and sent that same information to FedEx in order for them to create and then send us a GIANT pile of shipping labels (the ones on the outsides of your packages). So, our pile of invoices had to line up, 1 to 1, with the shipping labels. Thus, they had to be in SOME order. Alphabetical order made good sense, that way if something got out of order, it would be easier to figure out what went wrong. The part that was bad about it was not the order we did that packing and shipping, but that we did staggered shipping.

What would have been better for all of you and for your peace of mind was if we'd shipped out all of the games in one giant bulk pile. Rather than all the backers getting their games over the course of a week and a half, they would all arrive within a few days of each other. I think we can all agree that such a thing would be much better. However, it was impossible. Let me give you a bit of a tour of the Greater Than Games Headquarters.

Just over a year ago, we moved into this facility. When we moved here (from a tiny 5' by 10' storage locker) we were thrilled with how much space we suddenly had. 1700 square feet?! That's huge! Look at all this space! We built a small office in the front (which is where I live all day every day, to the point that a friend of mine made a "It's A WareHome" sign for my office), and built colossal, pallet-rack shelves in the rest of the space in order to use all fifteen of the vertical feet we have here. And use it we do! The first major shipment we received here was Rook City, which was crazy. So many boxes! It quickly filled up two entire blocks of shelves, going all the way to the ceiling, and took up a few more pallets on the warehouse floor as well. However, then, we started shipping it out at quite the rapid pace, so that was good. We built even more shelves and kept moving.

Last fall, we got the biggest shipment that we had ever received. (Note: every shipment we get is the biggest we've ever received - we're consistently floored by just how much we're growing, but we're still just three guys. More on that later.) Full print runs of Infernal Relics AND Sentinels of the Multiverse: Enhanced Edition. PLUS Unity and Ambuscade! Wow! Our warehouse was FULL. All of the shelves were filled up to the top. We had overflowing pallets of boxes throughout the warehouse, giant stacks of boxes in the office, everywhere. If there was a place for a box, we put three boxes there. It was intense. Yet, somehow, we managed. We got all of that Kickstarter packed up and shipped out, somehow. Fortunately, between Kickstarters, individual orders from our website, and distributor orders, we managed to empty about half of the warehouse before this latest shipment of Shattered Timelines and mini-expansions and such.

The amount of stuff that can be packed into a 40' cargo container is impressive.

I mentioned that we're a three-man operation. That is most certainly true. It has been the case since day one, and it will continue to be that way for quite some time. Eventually, we would like to add more hands, eyes, brains, etc. to Greater Than Games, but first, we have to consolidate the three of us. When this company started, I lived in Kansas City, Paul lived in St. Louis, and Adam lived in Los Angeles. After looking at warehousing and shipping options, we quickly and correctly determined that St. Louis was where we should be. I spent the first year of Greater Than Games's existence driving the four hours to St. Louis on a weekly basis. On top of all of the other game company stuff. It was arduous. January of last year, I finally was able to move here to St. Louis, and that's helped a TON. Far less driving. Far more living in this orange, orange office. (Anyone who has seen the Greater Than Games headquarters can tell you: my office is VERY orange. Sentinels orange.) Paul has a full-time job. Adam had a full-time job. I'm the only one who works here full-time, and I put in about 70 hours in the office on a normal week. During the last three weeks, I've been here no less than 140 hours a week. Sometimes more. No, I don't get enough sleep. But I do get the job done. Paul comes and works at least a few hours each evening, which makes a HUGE difference, but ultimately, this is in my hands.

With the growth of the company, we're able to move Adam from LA here, and he will be doing so in April! This is THRILLING news! Many of you know that Adam and I have been friends for about 20 years, and getting to work with him again and not just see him at cons and over the internet will be AWESOME. Also, I'll now have another set of hands and eyes to help regularly with packing and shipping, as he will be working here in the warehouse full time as well. Also! We are moving. As mentioned, we currently have a 1700 square foot facility. It WAS huge. Now, it's inadequate. We're currently looking at three different places, all between 5,000 and 10,000 square feet. They're pretty awesome, and we're keeping an eye out towards what expansion the future will necessitate.

So, now that you know more about who we are, what we do, how we do it, and (rather key here) WHERE we do it, you might see the problem with shipping. We did not have enough space to pack up over 2,000 boxes in our loading dock to all be picked up and shipped out at the same time. Paul and I would pack up as much as we could possibly pack in a day, me working all day, Paul joining me in the evenings, and then I would continue to work overnight. Each day, a FedEx truck would swing by to pick up what we had packed thus far. Had the FedEx trucks ever not done their daily pickups, we would have had to stop due to being out of space! The more we packed up, the more space we had as the pallets of games got broken down into boxes of orders. It was a delightful process to watch. We often wished for a montage, as that would have sped the process along nicely.

Our goal is to be able to ship games out in the "all at once" method in the future, but that depends on a bigger space and more helping hands. However, as I've gone over, we're working towards both of those things and will have them by the time the next big shipment arrives.

Oh, as for the tracking numbers, you say, "Depending on FedEx to send out tracking numbers was also a mistake." Er, unfortunately, there's not a better alternative here. Our plan should have worked. Let me explain: FedEx generates tracking numbers for shipments. We can't do that. Only FedEx can. When we sent all of the Kickstarter backer information to FedEx so they could create the shipping labels we used, that information contained the e-mail addresses to which the tracking numbers should be sent. We just had a talk this morning with our FedEx account representative, as we know the first chunk of shipments DID properly generate and send out tracking numbers, (looking at you, A through H names), but they stopped somewhere in the Js, apparently, and we don't know why. Oddly enough, neither does FedEx. They're looking into it, but that's entirely out of our hands. The only real alternative there would be to not supply tracking numbers at all, which is what a majority of Kickstarters do, but that seems like a worse alternative, honestly. So, certainly, we want everyone to get a tracking number, and are saddened and chagrined that it did not happen. We will be hounding FedEx to make sure it happens correctly next time.

To wrap this RIDICULOUSLY LONG (sorry!) post up, I want to make sure that my tone is correctly interpreted here. I'm pretty disappointed with how this Kickstarter shipping process went. I wanted everyone to get their games faster. I wanted everyone to have tracking numbers. Heck, I wanted to get more than 3 hours of sleep the nights that I actually did get any sleep. But these things did not happen. Not because we should have done better or differently, but because that was the state of how things are. We're still a tiny company, folks. We're growing, and we're getting better at things, but the resource were most tight on at this point is man-power and space. We're getting more of those! Things are looking up! But, and I realize I'm opening myself up to even further criticism here, I don't see how we could have done this better, given what we had to work with this time around.

For the TL:DR crowd, well, first, you've come to the WRONG forum post. But the important take-away is this. We did a semi-ok job here. I mean, sure, it was 2 months early, which is nice, but it could have gone much more smoothly. However, we readily recognize what things can be solved to improve future pack and ship events and have already taken steps to solve said issues. I hope you all can bear with us as we go through these growing pains. We certainly are in this for the long haul.

And, above all: keep on saving the Multiverse! Remember, you heard it here first, folks.

This past winter, I ran a Kickstarter for my first solo RPG product:  "Cold Steel Wardens:  Roleplaying in the Iron Age of Comics".

I'm a one-man operation, with a handful of writing and game design credits to my name.  Thanks to some fantastic generosity, I managed to barely meet the funding goal and put my book into layout, pending a summer release.

Christopher, If I experience half of the success, if I manage to provide half as quality a product, if I manage to deliver half as quickly as you guys did on Shattered Timelines, I'll believe my game to be an unmitigated success.

In spite of huge challenges, you guys have delivered a spectacular product (and tons of add-ons) two months ahead of schedule.  That's incredible.  I can't think of a single other KS drive that's managed to do even that, much less than with the volume you guys are putting out as a trio.  It's unfathomable, and you have my congratulations.

I realize that people might be frustrated about their shipping issues or the fact that retail sites are getting the pack before some backers, but that's a meager, nit-picky price to pay for a quality product that still shipped 2 months prior to its expected street date.

Don't let the stress get you down, brother.  We're all behind you.

I'm okay with the process. The tracking number thing wasn't anyone's fault but FedEx. You guys delivered the games months earlier than the Kickstarter stated. Everyone will get their games and the world will continue to turn.

The glass half full viewpoint of people getting irritated about not having their games is that you've created a game so good and addictive that people can't wait to get it. Congratulations!

Christopher,

I hope that I didn't come off as irritated as I am not, more or less just impatient and excited to get the game. I've known since the start that you guys are still a company with employees I can count on one hand with. In a week you got every shipment out to stores, international backers and domestic backers. Some people may be unhappy with the way your shipping process was handled, they're going to voice their complaints because that's the kind of people they are. However, you always hear way more from those people who complain than the people who don't.

Please just be aware that, personally, I think you've handled everything very well. I jumped on with your EE Kickstarter and I can already see drastic improvement from that. I know you're already aware that it's a learning process, but don't let all these complaints get you down. You guys have made a fantastic product with fans that will stick by you no matter what happens.

Just remember that you can only please some of the people some of the time and all of the people none of the time.

-Vance

P.S.

The only beef I had was the no tracking information, which I know wasn't your fault.

You know, if you were to look for a warehouse in Indianapolis, you would be right next to the second largest FedEx hub in the world (smaller only to the Bejing hub).

Just saying…

Christopher,

I got my cards and couldn't be more thrilled.  Took them to a mini gaming con and convinved a few others to buy the expansions/game.  I hope you are in Boston for PAX.   That way I can tell you what a great game you've made in person and buy you a beer.  Sounds like you deserve it!

Thanks, Jay! (And everyone!)

We'll certainly be in Boston for PAX - leaving in a few hours, actually! Come see us in the Tabletop area, booth 1101/1102!

Just got my cards last night, the new Heroes, Villains, and Locations are DEFINITELY getting shown off in their proper glory later this week.

I also have a tiny bit of space left in my EE box for a spare Lecagy Deck or two. When Vengeance comes out, I am definitely going to have the Parson Family Smackdown against Iron Legacy

I have my FedEx box sitting in front of me.

I told myself that I may open it only once I finish grading my seniors' research papers.

This is torturous.

ugh…with the level of their writing?  It'd be much easier to say, "F for everyone!"

Seriously–if they submitted this stuff at college level, they'd be kicked out for plagiarism based on sheer lack of citations.

But, I have Sentinels as a reward waiting for me!  And Indian Food, too!

Just got my Shattered Timelines web order w/ all the available expansions!  Everything looks excellent.  Really looking forward to trying it all out.  Now if my other order with the oversized villain cards and t-shirt would show up.  Says it shipped a day earlier than ST, but the tracking number is no good...

I had some free time today so I sat down and searched my email - sure enough I found the last shipment from >g

Shipping day? Friday March 9th 2012

Delivery day? Wednesday March 14th 2012

Well just when all hope was lost, and waiting for so long, I decide to step out.

When I got back…there it was waiting for me.  "Te" in Florida in case anyone left is still wondering.

I was more surprised, this was the first time the art prints actually arrived safe - everything else also looks pristine. Thumbs up from me >G.  I think it's time to go save the multiverse…

Anyone in California or at ol' >G headquarters who can tell me what the rough time for delivery was? Mine shipped Friday and I'm trying to figure out of I'll have it this Saturday for my game night.

It takes four business days to get from St. Louis to California, unfortunately.  Just one of the costs of living in paradise, I'm afraid.

Mine came in on Thursday and being a late J name, I assume it went out Monday, so four days should do it.

Seattle area "St" name received package today.

One thing is I had a Maximum completion and I never got EE, Rook City and Infernal Relics. Are these coming seperately instead of with ST?

Edit:Also missing extra set of promo tokens

Ok, so I just got mine... Only, it's not -mine-.

The name is REALLY similar to mine, but it's for a guy who lives across the country. He ordered more physical product than I did, also. So, if he gets mine, he's gonna be shy a copy of Rook City and a bunch of other ala carte stuff.

What should I do about this?

Has anybody that had missing items in their order received their replacements yet?  I emailed >G last Tuesday about missing Oversized Villians cards that I had ordered with the Kickstarter, got a very quick response from Paul saying he'd send them ASAP, but haven't heard anything further.  I emailed again Monday night asking if it's been sent out yet and haven't gotten a response.  I realize that they were busy with PAX over the weekend, but I would think that things are back up and running by now.  I'm in Ohio, so if the cards went out last week, they should have been here by now.

Sorry about the delay on these replacements. We have a bunch of them to send out, and that got put on hold due to PAX. We are now working on them, and they will go out over the course of next week. They will be sent using USPS First Class (since they are small), so they will take about 1 week after being sent to arrive.

I gotta say, I'm rather disappointed to read this.  I waited patiently as all of the shipments went out, with mine going out in the very last batch of Kickstarter orders.  My order was incomplete, I reported it immediately, was told that replacements were going out "ASAP".  It's now a week and a half later, and now I find out it could be another two weeks before I finally get the rest of what I paid for?  Not only that, but "USPS First Class"?  Might as well bend and crumple up all of the cards before you ship them so that the post office doesn't have to.

I realize that you guys are busy.  It's been an exhausting month, I'm sure.  But the lack of communication has been frustrating, and using the cheapest possible shipping option you can find to fix the mistakes that you made is just an insult.  And the fact that you have "a bunch" of these to send out indicates an even more serious problem.

P.S. Sorry for venting.  I know that I'm making a big deal out of something that won't even matter a month from now, but I was really looking to playing Sentinels over the next couple of weekends, and I was hoping to have the complete experience when doing so.

Out of curiosity… what were you missing? My shipment lacked only the oversized cards and tokens, neither of which are in any way essential to "the complete experience". I find it hard to believe that anything that could have been overlooked would affect this unless you planned on having insane marathon sessions with no repeats.

@Putts

We use padded envelopes + protective cardstock to send out replacement cards on a regular basis, and pre-pay shipping rather than using stamps (so that they don't have to run through the machince). As a result, we have had very good luck with USPS for replacement cards, and they are generally delivered within 3 days in the continental US.

95% of the replacement cards from the Kickstarter were sent this morning; more recently reported issues will have their cards sent out tomorrow or Wednesday. We are also not happy about the delay in sending out these cards, and believe me, if it were physically possible to have sent them out sooner, we would have done so.

As a customer who has received replacement cards before from >G I just wanted to remphasize what Paul just said – the replacement cards (at least mine were in the past) were sent in a padded envelope sandwiched inside stiff cardboard (almost as stiff as wood) and there was no "reasonable" chance of the cards being bent and I did not have any problems at all with my items that came that way.

Also, let us not forget that the product still came 2 months ahead of schedule. Any waiting you may be doing is still earlier than planned. In fact I say this as a guy also waiting for a forgotten item from my original shipment.

Thanks, Paul.  I feel better now.  I apologize for speaking out of frustration.  Like I said, I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill here.

To answer the other folks' questions, I was missing the first set of Oversized Villian Cards (from the base game/first two expansions/Ambuscade).  And yes, you're right, the game is perfectly playable without them.
