So, I'm surprised it's an actual block. Not sure why this was so shocking.

But I will say it's a great environment.

Seems like a pretty easy environment to handle.  Just stay on the other side of the bars from the badguys. ;)

An easy environment? You should have been there when the first playtesting draft was put out. "Easy" is probably the least likely word I'd have used to describe it.

But that's not saying it still can't be very punishing at times. Trust me, it can be.

But, what if the bad guys are on both sides of the bars?  And what if the bars don't stay shut?  And what if you get forced behind the bars?  And what if the bars don't exist?

I'm very excite for this one.  I'm hoping we see prisoners that will cross promote with various villains...ie a citizen or a minionetc.

That could be cool to have a universally synergetic environement.

But whatever happens I'm sure it will be cool and hopefully give us some insites into other seme-pro villians teased at on cards but not worthy of their own decks.

Super thrilled, I had just gotten started on a prison custom enviroment because I was a little surprised it had not been done yet. It is exactly the enviroment I wanted... with an extra dose of Hank Pym/Negative Zone dimensional wackyness.

I agree with LoganMan on the B level villains... this is a great home for guys who made an apearance on a card but are not about to take over the world anytime soon.

I'm with you on that. I'm hoping we get to see some old background characters we've only seen once or twice to show up. Maybe the famed Hippo Man is locked within one of the cells here! Maybe Fright Train is here too. Or those other characters we recognize but don't know the names of.

It was fun to see FILTER show back up.  Ever since reading Tempest's story here on the website I've been waiting for them to reapear in some form.  I assumed it would be in a space themed expansion, but the idea they have expanded to all global threats is just great.

Maybe its just cause I've got SHIELD in mind after seeing Avengers this year but every comic universe needs their own top secret global agency.

I'd love to see more get developed with FILTER in the future.

I'm just gonna put this out there...

FILTER TV show.

We need to make this happen.

So... if you're up against The Organization in The Block and Prison Break gets played... do you just flat-out lose? ;)

Not that Prison Break isn't a near-automatic game over in most circumstances anyway... :P

I'm very interested in this environment, particularly this 'The Warden' character.  Is he like Anubis in the Tomb of Anubis, his own Villain, or a Hero?

What does "FILTER" stand for? I'd never heard of them till I saw the Kickstarter update for this new Environment. Also, I seem to have missed the post announcing the other Environment for this expansion - it says the Block is the second, but I don't recall seeing the first. Must have come up before I backed it or something, so I didn't get the e-mail…will have to look back through the Kickstarter updates and see!

Read Tempests Bio

http://sentinelsofthemultiverse.com/multiverse/heroes/tempest

for the only other real references to FILTER thus far.

They aren't so nice to Tempest at first. But there is mention of a headquarters (another environment perhaps? or the Block could be a fulfillment of this) and special troops and such that seems like teaser material.

Maybe teasing for this now..maybe teasing for more in the future.

Ahh, I hadn't read that longer version of Tempest's bio, only the one in the manual.

And that Time Cataclysm was the Environment that I missed - I knew Silver Gulch was the promo one. I think the Cataclysm one was indeed announced before I pledged and started receiving e-mails. Cool, it sounds like it could be a more timey-wimey version of the Realm of Discord.

Yeah, I had honestly forgotten the time cataclysm and was like "oh man! and we have 1 more enviroment!"

Still this promo one just made the expansion for me, it feels as if they went "hey lugaru, what enviroment do you want next?... no a magical kingdom made of chocolate is not exactly action packed... how about a supervillain prison?"

Third.

But it must be Phil Coulson. Or because that is undoubtedly copyrighted, it must be Coul Philson. And one of his cards must have the quote "I'm not even sure what it does'. And another. 'Oh. So thats what it does'

The Block looks like the place Unity was held on her incapacitated side, yes?

Very possibly yes.

The Warden runs a tight operation: besides the entire prison itself being kept separate from any known time-space dimension, the individual cells are cycled through time loops to nullify whatever powers or abilities the prisoners could bring to bear on the guards.

Looks like that will be a card that says "Heroes cannot use Power."

Just to nitpick, SIlver Gulch is the promo; The Block is part of Shattered Timelines.

Oh, hey, I hadn't even considered that. That actually makes a lot of sense, especially with the grey walls outside her little box. Poor Unity… What did she do to deserve that?

Well I can see how Unity is hypothetically the ultimate weapon... if "The Dreamer" is this scary, imagine fighting a deck of giant nightmarish golems forged from materials ripped from skyscrapers and the very military vehicles sent to stop her...

Ok, I'm putting my unity deck in a drawer, I'm scared of her now.

I've always figured Ra to be the ultimate weapon. I mean... he's a god.

I dunno, Omnitron seems to have figured out his weakness...i.e. things that can't catch on fire.

Um…yes?  I don't know if I quite understand your question.

EDIT:  Oh, wait.  You mean Gilda the Griffin?  Yeah, she's from FiM.  Great show.  My remark was regarding Ra's potential of being the Ultimate Weapon.

Not to be a downer, but what if the Block is also Unity's final resting place? It's known that she doesn't make it out alive by the time the Freedom Six are formed, and even hinted that she was dead long before. With the span of time between the Freedom Five to the Freedom Six being maybe ten years, if I'm generous, would it be completely crazed to think Unity was captured in one attempt against the changing Legacy by the gigantic anti-mutant organization that may or may not have Legacy's aid as a sure-fure way to keep his friends away from his plans? And then, due to their evil-ness, they tested and/or experimented on the young girl for a year or two before accidentally - or purposefully - killing her, leaving her mind to be implanted in some metal that eventually formed the new-fangled Unity we will soon know? If such, then I would not like to cross anyone that continues to support The Block as a positive tool for the world.

I'm sad now.
