I mean, I got the email from Christopher at 9:07am, CST. It's now 1:36pm CST, and the kickstarter is funded. That's a record, right?

You mean CDT, right? Because it didn't even start until 10 AM CST (which is eqivilant to EDT).
I'd call it a record. I'm pretty happy with it. So, what are our bets for the 24 hour mark? I'd say maybe $35K?
Oh, yeah, I guess CDT. See, the problem is, I work with solaris machines most of my day, and you actually set the timezone to CST, and it magically performs the CST/CDT conversion for you, so I tend to think of myself as CST. So stupid anyway, I wish they'd just get rid of daylight savings time.
I also wish daylight savings would go away. It's for this reason that I emphasis between *DT and *ST (technically, automatically switching from CST and CDT is simply CT).
I actually got the e-mail AFTER backing, which, at that time, had only about a quarter or less funding.
Call me a massive dork but I miss those daily kickstarter updates... the GTG guys are great about that. So I'm happy to see a new kickstarter, just to get a surprise in my email fairly often.
In the Kickstarter ala carte items, why not throw in the HP Trackers from Rook City, Enhanced Edition Upgrade Box (for ppl who wants a nice box for ST (sleeved) too) and the T-Shirts too?
Some backup may want them for combined shipping cost and it'll help to push up the pledge levels!
We may or may not see a T-Shirt added.
I don't know whether we will get the Rook City HP trackers - the Enhanced Edition tokens are supposed to replace them, and I don't know how many of the trackers >G has in stock still.
The Upgrade Box will probably not be available. >G stated on another thread that they had completely sold out their entire stock of upgrade boxes, and it did not seem like they had any intention of doing a second production run of empty boxes (probably little to no margin on it).
Well, at just under $35k in just under 24 hours (right now is 23 hours 45 minutes), that was a very good guess.
Ah, so close! Oh well, I'm still happy. We got funded and the first stretch reward in a day. Now, today we'll get the second stretch reward. Can't wait for news on those.
@ketigid
You can totally add those things if you want! We didn't put them on the a la carte graphic because relatively few people would add them, and it is not worth the potential confusion/clutter. But for those of you in the know, you can definitely add anything from our store to your Kickstarter pledge and have it shipped in the same box, as long as you let us know what you want to get in the backer survey once the Kickstarter ends.
it's over (3)9,000!
I'm interested in specifically the Enhanced Edition Boxes (empty). Just to confirm, you guys are out, and aren't making more, correct?
You know, I said just under 35k in just under 24 hours, but I meant to say just under 37k in just under 24 hours.

Correct. We are out of those, and are very unlikely to make any more.
aww... I was considering buying 2 of those...
40K!!!
Some of us may want to buy an extra empty box to store sleeved based game+RC+IR+ST. After all, we know that ST will be the last SotM expansion in the near future, so the next 'big storage box solution' is at least 1 year or more away. The empty box will come in handy as a temporary solution.
SECOND
Well, 37k for the first day, 10k for the second. Still a bit strong, hopefully still having enough momentum to make it to the final goal, and maybe even surpassing it (well, hoping that surpassing it means inclusions of currently unknown and unplanned rewards).
Well... we do definitely have something in the works that could be done at, say, $150K, but I'm not sure that we'll get anywhere near that. If we start approaching $100K though, we'll update the chart with various additional stretch rewards (and start planning for tons of complicated, high-class logistical problems :P)
While I consider the oversized villain cards to be huge bonus (I LOOOVE them) I'm not gonna worry too much until 60k... new content is where it is at! New villain deck, tokens are nice I guess but then 80 is a new enviroment!
Yeah, I'm mostly interested in the new content as well. $60k will be good, and I'm curious to see what the new env at $80k will be. After how insanely awesome (both in personality and mechanics) Unity was, I'm really curious to see what would come out at $100k, but seeing as this is a much smaller kickstarter (not rebooting the base set as well), I'm not as confident we'll reach there.
If it matters btw.....I would TOTALLY be willing to chip in an extra $5 or $10 for extra envs, villains, or heroes, just in case we don't make the stretch :)
I had actually made that same promise a few weeks ago, Broccoli. I certainly hope you'll join me.
An extra $5 for every mini-expansion we get is my promise.
And what exactly is a "Token Pack"? Don't we already have those?
It explains on the kickstarter page, but the token pack has more HP tokens and some status tokens for statuses not covered by the original set.
I never use them anyway, so I don't really care, to be honest.
Oh, I missed that. I've actually gotten used to the habit of using the tokens. Sometimes, that is. We always use them for health, but some new ones might encourage us to put some of the other damage modifiers to use.
I'm a 2 D10 sort of guy but I dont have 'em at home so I'm using and enjoying the counters. Also those counters are amazing against minion decks like Voss or Dawn.
Also the counters are good when the action gets fast and furious… you can drop a whole bunch of damage counters on a character (from multiple sources, re-directs, etc) and at the end of the turn take away 10 and replace it for a single 10 counter for example.
I've always used them as HP tokens...taking away when damage is dealt. Using them as damage tokens the way you says seems quicker for in game use...except for figuring out current highest and lowest HPs.
I may need to try it that way.
for the hps of heroes, and the villain(s), but I use the hp counters for all the minions and environments. I also use them as hp trackers rather than damage counters. I think it makes it easier for tracking highest/lowest, as logan_mann said, and it makes it really easy to see when something is dead (no counters).
I have those same knitting counters. I got them for heroes and villain characters and have used a bunch of d6 i scrounged for everything else. Since getting EE i've been using the tokens alone as I decide what I like. Pros and cons to both.
Yah, when I first got EE, I started using only the hp counters, and did that for a couple of months. However, over time, I decided I liked the knitting counters best for bosses and heroes. Having to change out for 25s or 10s can slow things down, but with minions and environment, I just stick to 5s and 1s.
Me too! If we need it I will chip in just for good measure! What's 10$ anyways? 2 and 1/6 lattes? Pshhh
Eh, I think that at 150k since you will have hit over 7x the requested amount for this expansion you should just go on ahead and release a fourth expac ![]()
I'd bump my current kick to 10$ more to see some extra stretch rewards. Of course once we hit 50k for the large villain cards I don't need anything else. Another token pack doesn't do much for me. I still use D10s myself. I think they should be sold a la carte instead of a stretch reward.
Yeah, I didn't mind paying $5 extra for the good stuff. I know some people complained about having to pay for what they felt should be a free reward for hitting a goal, which is too bad.
I wish we could get more people aware of and consider this whole "extra $5" thing. I'm sure out of the almost-900 backers we've got so far, we're not the only ones willing to do this. I think an potential idea would be for some of us to wait until they announce that we're getting the new villain deck, and then leave comments on the update that we're going to be donating another $5/$10 to help further the funds. Some people might see it and do the same. It could work a bit.
Yeah, I agree - just not sure how to communicate it. I just posted a comment on the Kickstarter. Not sure if someone else had already done it (just haven't been able to keep up with all the comments), but it gets it out for more folks to think about…
I'm actually doing $10 for each item: $5 to "pay" for the item itself and $5 for a second copy.
(Don't know if everyone caught that we'll have that option, so I wanted to make sure it was brought up.)
But how are the promo cards and over-sized villain cards going to work? Are the 7 promo cards going to be $5 and the 4 over-sized villain cards $5? Or are all the cards going to be $5? ![]()
I'm throwing the kicstarter out everywhere I can. On allt he games I play with forums, on all the guilds I'm in. Everywhere I can to get people interested in Sentinels. Friend of mine bought this at Gencon, and i put down a pledge to get it -allll-. I want it all, want my own copy. So I certainly will throw down 5-10 more dollars to help get us up to 100k!
I did my part here, but everyone just rolled their eyes at the international shipping charges.
I guess it's up to you guys with a US address to help spread the word.
I do try. I posted on my facebook wall about it, but not many people I know besides people I already play with would likely take to it. But at least three of my friends have said that they're going to be buying their own copies of the EE and one or two expansions. Which makes me really happy, but then again, that doesn't help the kickstarter. I might be able to convince one of the friends I know here. I'll ask them what their plans are and such.
Oh, yeah, I totally neglected the promo cards themselves. Any thoughts? An extra $5 for all seven?
Again, I'll just talk to my friends and say "Hey, if you're gonna get the game, why not chip in a little bit to the kickstarter?" Sadly, my biggest draw of luring them with the prospect of all of the out-of-print promo cards is gone.
Evandan55, maybe talk to them about buying the gameand expansions through the kickstarter. They get the game and support the KS at the same time.
Thats what I'm doing. My friend who already got me involved has all the existing content, so there is no need to rush to get it for myself - as if I'm going to be playing, I am going to be with him. But I want to support, so Ill get my content through the kickstarter in hopes of helping push it past the 100k Stretch rewads
Day 3: $5k
You're right, Nakos. I'll probably point them to the pledge rewards of stuff they can get, along with all the promos that will come with it. I think they'll take to it pretty well.
Hmmm… maybe instead of adding $5-$10 for each extra that we get through stretch goals we can partner with someone overseas and offer to cover their $40 shipping costs (7 promo heroes, oversized villain cards, villain deck… it would be equivalent to over $40 already). Obviously it would need to be someone you can trust since it would require someone sending someone else the money (or reimbursing them after the fact). The logistics would need to be worked out between the parties, but if it can be made to work I think it would certainly add more funds to the kickstarter and would help spread the joy of the game to more people.
Just a thought
Some people have already asked about this, and it is relevant to this thread so I am posting it here. Anyone who wants to increase their pledge by $40 can specify that $40 to cover the international shipping charges for someone who lives oversees. It is up to you to arrange who you are "sponsoring", and to find out their Kickstarter name so that you can put it in the backer survey. Ideally, the sponsor would list the sponsee, and vice versa, in the backer survey just so that it is not too difficult to sort out. Anyhow, thought I'd pass that on, since it has come up a few times in PMs.
That's awesome!! Thanks for making it so easy Paul!
I posted this on BGG with my offer to sponsor a new international backer:
http://boardgamegeek.com/article/10432814#10432814
So if anyone else wants to do the same you can probably just add it to that thread there.
I was in the process of creating this GeekList when you posted your thread: http://bgg.cc/geeklist/149102/sentinels-of-the-multiverse-shattered-timelines-ki
I believe a Geeklist will make it easier to tell which offers are still active, and separate the offers from responses.
That makes sense… maybe you should post a link to your geek list in the thread so people will see it there too…
Which I see you already did… OK. I'll just sit quietly now and let people better at this handle it
