From the Cover

1) We see Omnitron hovering over a man sized robot with his nemesis symbol on his chest.

2) We see a current and future version of legacy

3) We see visionary and a girl who may well be an alternate her.

Guesses:

Heroes:

Man Robot  (yet to be named) pictured on the cover and will be Omnitron's nemesis.

Chronoranger sure seems like this would make a great place for him to appear as Hero #2 despite his lack of cover time.

Villains:

An evil Legacy from the future?

An evil Visionary split from her personality?

Whatever villian Alex made and won the contest with which he has yet to reveal anything about

?

My thoughts is that I really hope that Legacy is evil... I was one of the guys who submitted an "evil heroes" deck for the villain contest so while I did not win, I still want some evil heroes bad.

Beyond that, I'm thrilled and hopefully the stretch rewards will provide us with a few alternate versions of heroes from other timelines.

The thing that's really getting me juiced up is the $40k level reward.  SIX promo hero cards.  Gotta be the Freedom Six from the future, yeah?  So great.

That would be very cool.  And could explain the other single promo as Visionary since they've stated she has never been part of the Freedom any number at all. So $30k Visionary, $40k Freedom Six? That would rock!

It would also potentially cover Tachyon, Bunker, and Absolute Zero as we've no indication yet they are NOT still part of the Freedom initiative in the future, though it looks like Legacy is out.  If Unity goes from intern to full fledged member that could be 4 of 6.  Who else I wonder?

Haka and Tempest could be the last two members of the Freedom Six along with Tac, Bunker, AZ and Unity.  That would cover everyone from the origianl expansion with a promo.

As for the villains, we're still missing nemesis for Bunker and Absolute Zero.  It seems like the two heros cover the un-nemesis'ed villains, so my assumption would be that the villains would cover the unused heroes.  So Bunker, Zero, Visionary and Unity.

I agree that Haka and Tempest would finish off promos for the core came characters…but they are now part of the Prime Wardens team (as of Infernal Relics).  Though in comics that doesn't mean anything in particular I suppose.  How many teams has Wolverine been in?

Saw the add for the kickstarter on BGG. Looks like a mad legacy on one side and I'm pretty sure its Chrono Ranger on the right...so I'm feeling Robot Man and Chrono Ranger for sure as our heroes...both of which should match our previous villains with no nemesis.  So that means 4 villains with no in expansion nemesis if thats the case. (Sans multi villain nemesis which thus far has only appeared via environment with Ra - Anubis - Ennead)

Sometimes, I think Marvel should just rename itself to "Spider-Man and Woverine & Friends."  I stopped reading six years ago, and those guys were everywhere.

It's funny, since I think the Avengers movie cycle beats the Spider-Man and X-Men trilogies by far.  But then, I haven't seen The Amazing Spider-Man, and I felt X-Men First Class was a great reboot to the franchise.

Alright, huge success. I'm so happy we've done this. Now, in 24 hours, how high can we go?

It never even occurred to me that the six promo cards would be the Freedom Six themselves. That totally slipped my mind. So would that mean future Legacy is one of them, or does he leave the team and become a rouge? What about the Prime Wardens? Do they fit into this future at all?

I just can't wait to see more of Visionary's story arc. I knew she'd have to be the main character of this expansion.

So, Dark Visionary is the $30k promo hero.  Hero, mind you, not villain as you'd normally expect from someone who's first name is Dark.  Her psychic hitchhiker doesn't seem too happy about the turn of events either.  He's even changed his color from purple to green, that's how distressed he is.  Poor lil' fella.

I'm betting that the hitchhiker from before (the purple one) has overtaken Visionary and that the green one we see is the regular Visionary.

I'd have to agree. It's also possible that it's a Visionary from an alternate timeline where the power struggle is a bit different and she was originally dark but picked up a benevolent version of herself within as she travelled back. My bet's still on it just being her losing control to her darker half though.

Some pics revealed on Giant Fire Breathing Robot

http://gfbrobot.com/2012/10/29/board-game-news-roundup-sentinels-incoming/

These look awesome.  His inside sources say something about a La Capitan hero...i am not seeing Robot Man as La Capitan...but he's on the cover...maybe chrono ranger isn't in this one.

Cool art though between these and Dark Visionary (who I still can't grasp as a hero).

I know nothing of a "le capitan" myself. Also, I'm sure we've seen that "Dark Hero" before in Legacy's deck.  He's the one that Legacy is punching that people before thought was the same as the "Red Legacy" from Visionary's deck.  It has been stated that those are two different people, and, looking close enough, they appear different characters.  That would still make three different "Legacies."

EV
EvanDan55

Whoa, crazy new things! That Dark Visionary looks pretty frightening. She's not quite what I pictured her to look like when I made her my "create-a-villain" contest entry. But I like her. If she's a promo card, then she has to be a promo hero card, right? There's no other deck she could go with.

Even being a playtester, I haven't heard anything about a hero called "La Capitan", so I'm just as in the dark as everyone else.

But it does say Visionary's nemesis will be in this expansion, but Dark Visionary is just a promo card, so I guess Dark Visionary really isn't her nemesis. Now I'm starting to buy more into the whole Visionary vs. Future Legacy as nemeses. I cannot believe I was wrong on this nemesis paring. I've been so sure for the longest time! It just had to be the answer! How could I be wrong like this?!

And I'm assuming that Granite guy is just going to be a minion for someone. Will he be in the same deck as Dark Hero? Their framing and backgrounds are very similar. That seems like an indication they'll be in the same deck. So who could summon these two types of different minions?

La Capitan is a villain! Per Christopher on the comments from GFBRobot

No word, however, on why he's "La Capitan" rather than "El Capitan", which sounds like it'd be the correct gramatical article to use, unless it's in some language I'm not thinking of.  Even if the captain were female, "captain" is usually a masculine noun.

If someone were to name themselves "The Shadow" in spanish, they'd be "La Sombra", even if they were a man.

If the granite power in the first pic were associated with the Capitan villain, making one think of the giant rock formation in Yosemite Park, it would still be El Capitan, since that's what the Yosemite rock is called.

Ah, so there's the confirmation. I'm not too savvy on the Romantic languages, but I can understand some decent Chinese.

No matter the gender, I'm interested in seeing what La Capitan is like. If she's a pirate, this will be the best expansion ever.

Though, she'd have to be a pirate from some dimension with better technology than pirates we think of.

In fact, it seems like all these heroes and villains need either mystical powers from their other dimension, or technology from the future. I don't think any weapons from the past would contend with the heroes.

So Granite Oni has appeared previously, on one of Mr. Fixer's cards (I believe Hoist Chain, not 100% sure on this, if not I think it is at least on one of his tools) and he does have the look to be a very intimidating minion.

As for the Dark Hero, i'm not so sure what his deal is. He is definetly on Legacy's THOKK! card and seems to be a "Bizarro" type character, which is fairly neat. So two seperate versions of Legacy will appearing in this expansion in some way, shape, or form.

So the single promo hero has already been comfirmed to be Dark Visionary, which is kind of interesting. So I guess she is along the lines of a anti-hero. What I really want to know though is what he power will be, my guess is a attack power that will deal infernal damage, maybe even a little side effect to it?

As for the six hero promo pack, what I really want is it to be five of the base heroes who have not recieved one yet (AZ, Tempest, Haka, Bunker, and Tachyon) since they all are great heroes and can have some pretty interesting stuff going for them. Wraith could use another promo, considering her first promo wasn't anything too great and is not nearly as good as her base power, so I wouldn't mind if she was in the final slot of the promos. I do like the Freedom Six idea, but I would like the core heroes missing a promo to get theirs first before the Freedom Six is created. Now three of the five heroes are already in the Freedom Five though, so who knows, maybe Tempest and Haka join at some point? I do believe that Wraith's promo already takes place in the future, so that could be her Freedom Six card already. Using that method however still leaves that extra sixth character to ponder about.

By the way: La capitan is actually correct. Indeed the word "La capitana, la doctora, la presidenta" exists, but those are only very recent. Previously no one thought that women could have these ranks, hence you would use "La capitan, la doctor, la presidente, etc…" for the unlikely event in which it happened. Since the change is so recent, the older namings are still correct. Specially if she comes from a long time ago or a universe in which things have not equaly evolved

@drstein

You're definitely not the only one asking! Here's an exerpt from a Kickstarter update I'm working on that will address this:

The currently out-of-print promos were created as limited-run rewards for early adopters (much like the promo cards that we will be making as part of this Kickstarter campaign). As such, we will not reprint those cards in their exact, original format. However, it is possible that, at some point in the future, we would release an "unlimited edition" run of all of our promo cards featuring the same characters and same powers, but distinct from the limited-run promo cards in some easily recognizable way. However, if we do decide to do that, such a promo pack is probably a couple of years off.

Hope that helps answer the question at least!

I love Tachyon, Wraith, Bunker, and Absolute Zero.  I'm a little less fond of Unity and Tempest.  I have to admit though, the thought of Unity actually getting to USE all of her equipment should be interesting.  I've never really had trouble with card draw on Tempest.  He's usually one of those guys sitting with a whole hand of cards and no way to play them.

Tachyon's is INSANE.

Who is wearing the Bunker suit? Could that actually be Fright Train? Just a guess, since he appears multiple times.

Is the new Wraith actually Maia? Because she's holding the Operative's weapons. Either she killed the Operative and took her weapons, or that is actually the Operative who has now taken on the name of Wraith. I think it actually is the Operative, turned good.

Also, this golem-Unity is wearing Mister Fixer's hat and is missing the same eye as Expatriette. Why the references to the Rook City heroes? Maybe they're both dead in the future.

That is basically my thought. Killer art across the board and I really like the idea of Unity keeping her equipment around. For me Wraith is a little weak, you would abandon those melee attacks really early in favor of targeted projectiles… and unfortunately Ongoing cards might not be common enough to make the (awesome looking) new bunker useful.

@paul Thanks for the quick reply! I look forward to the day in which Legacy's dog appears as another promo! :p

@evandan55 I do not see why the fact that the new Unity misses an eye is a fact that Expatriette is dead.

As for the new freedom 6...I love Tachion, Wrath, and Absolute Zero. Unity can deploy robots faster at the cost of her life...I wonder if she can last for long (4 damage seems a lot). I will have to test her. The other 2 however, I find them weaker

Tempest normally has a lot of cards. Why give him another way of drawing cards and reduce his life in the process?

Bunker's power is very powerful. Discarding modes is not too expensive (since he also draws many cards and are not always used). However, I foresee that many rounds bunker will have no power to use!

Finally a question for >G guys: any reason why we have seen no Haka promo, but we have 2 Wraith ones? Storytelling reasons I presume?

I meant it as like Unity is making an homage to the dead Rook City heroes. Maybe it's just a coincidence for that one, yeah I'll admit. I just noticed she was also missing her right eye. But I still think Mister Fixer's hat is some kind of indication of his fate.

And you also bring up a good point: where is Haka's promo card? Do we get that when we get the Prime Wardens promo pack?

Tachyon is absurd, but she won't be quite as good at piling bursts into her trash without using the powers like Rapid Recon and Research Grant. Absolute Zero is a clear upgrade, if awp has anything to say about it.  I think Tempest's power has good potential - it's another way to charge up cards for Vicious Cyclone shenanigans.  The new Bunker covers a hole in the old Bunker's deck - having an ability that kills ongoings usually comes in handy.  Unity getting to use her equipment might be an interesting experience.

I'm annoyed at Wraith.  Wraith doesn't need new powers, or more promos, as the powers in her deck are really good at dominating the board anyway.  No mistake, a damaging base power is a boon, but this card annoys me for another reason.  I had suspected that there was an unwritten rule that no two base powers could be the same.  This Wraith has the same base power as poor Haka, the hero whose promo slot she stole!

That said, the story implications of that card are pretty cool.

Free speculations : ok, we have one of the villain's name, and I think we all know who one of the villain (the one with multiple Nemesises) is ;)

Who are the others ? Mr Fixer's deck has pictures of the "granite asian warrior guy" and one of a Fu Manchu looking guy - could it be that one of the new villain would be some kind of (alternate ?) Old China Wizard or something ? Maybe with Mr Fixer as a Nemesis, even if he already has one ?

Expatriette has a picture of a guy that seem made of molten metal (one the Hollow Points bullet card) who she nicknames "metalhead" - is it some one appearing elsewhere, or could it be one of the new ennemies ?

Since they're posting pics of the cards themselves on Kickstarter rather than just the raw art, that means we know each alt hero's hp and rules, which means I should be able to Photoshop up some oversized cards for Dark Visionary and the Freedom Six right away (as long as I just use each of their incapacitated rules as they exist now).  We could be playing with these soon!  I'll post a note to the forums when I've got them available on my SotM site.

I initially thought you might be on to something with this, but looking at the art for the Operative, she has a tatoo on her upper, left arm that is not shown in the new Wraith art. It's not definitive, but it does look like it's more likely Maia was involved in the defeat of the Operative and took her weapons as "trophies".

They specifically mention an old foe in a bunker suit and a bot that thinks its unity...seems like if it isn't the original wraith anymore they may have dropped that hint too.  The way its worded is not definitive but certainly leads to interpretation of 4 original heroes and these other 2 stand ins.

So...a summary of what we seem to currently know from sneak peaks, podcasts, and hints...

2 Heroes

Omnitron's nemesis (Robot Man on cover, confirmed as nemesis in podcast)

Plague Rat's nemesis (revealed in podcast and believed very strongly to be Chrono Ranger)

4 Villains

La Capitan

? Visionary's Nemesis

? The Freedom 6s nemesis (stated in podcast, believed strongly to be a Legacy gone bad...as pictured in the lower right of box cover)

?

2 Environments

?

?

Am I missing any confirmations?

 I.... am SO EXCITED!!!

First off, FrightTrain!  YEEEEAAAAH.    This looks exciting.   Bunker with some utility?   Wut is this nonsense?!!   This is great.  And it gives me something to do with the mode cards I dont want to play.

Secondly:  Elemental Wrath is my playtest power!   I'm so happy.  Sure its not what some people wanted,  but for me,   I could NOT be more stoked.    Nailed it!

3rd:  Tempest as a member of the F6?   Nailed that one too!

And of course there is Unity in place of Legacy.   Didn't see that one coming,  but I doubt many people did.    4 Energy damage is a LOT to take,  but otoh, garanteed bot-spamming is pretty good.  Tachyon looks patently nuts, and I guess I don't mind Wraith's power.   It's good for her early game, and not so great later.   I like it.   Yes, it did kind of "steal" Haka's power,  that is a little sad.  But even so, I still think it's nice.   Haka promo card would be nice to see tho =p,  maybe he can steal Stealth, that would certainly be appropriate.

As I said, unwritten.  And unwritten for a reason, I guess.  :slightly_smiling_face:   The heroes with base powers that do damage (who also include Fanatic, Tempest, and Young Legacy in their number) all do different types and amounts, which distinguish them both mechanically and thematically.  While I suppose nobody is going to confuse Haka with Price of Freedom Wraith, the fact that this was not a design concept kinda makes me wonder why Mr. Fixer isn't dealing two damage a Strike.

We never had any sort of written or unwritten rule that no characters could not have the same innate power. It was just highly unlikely. However, I can understand the appeal of such a thing, and I can certainly come up with nigh infinite innate powers. So, I have considered your words . . .

Very well. You all get your wish.

Since Golem Unity *is* a Mechanical Golem who thinks she/it is Unity, will it be thematic to include the Mechanical Golem keyword on Golem Unity's character card?

Then she'll need some balancing too as Raptor Bots and Powered Shock Wave gets an immediate upgrade. And Golem Unity can use Inspired Repair to repair herself. Although she shouldn't be allowed to take the character card into hand using Scrap Metal.

Personally I like Tempest's promo innate power. It gives him the ability to destroy his cards that could potentially hurt him. Such as his Electrical Storm, you don't always want to damage everyone with lightning damage, so now you can choose to destroy it and even gain three cards out of it. Localized Hurricane would also be a good one that he could easily destroy (even though it can be destroyed with a use of a power on it) and get the benefits of drawing brand new cards. After all, you can never have too many cards.

As for Unity, it does seem like it'll be a burdento use her Innate power, but at the same time she has a lot of other ways to play Mechanical Golems, so that power may only need to be used two or three times in the game, depending on what other heroes you have in the field. Have Ra out there with her, along with Imbue Fire and Flesh of a Sun God, she could use that power every turn without any bad effect.

I know this is a little late to the party, but really, is The Wraith using The Operative's weapons the reason people are saying she's The Operative in a mask? And yet nobody's saying that Golem Unity must actually be Mr. Fixer, because she's wearing his hat. Or that Team Leader Tachyon is actually Vegeta because of her scouter.

RO

For one thing, Unity's Rook City hat has a different color font, so it's not Mr. Fixer's hat. Lastly Mr. Fixer was frozen to preserve his body until the world needed him the most.

All saiyans wear scouters after they had defeated the Truffles on Planet Vegeta and started to use their technology. Also Freeza and his men also started to wear them after they had enslaved the saiyans. There are countless people out there that are wearing scouters, so Tachyon is very unlikely going to be Vegeta. Especially considering Vegeta no long needs to wear a scouter as he can sense people's power level. Not to mention Tachyon is way too smart to be a a full blooded saiyan.

Now I do not support that the new Wraith is the Operative, for obvious reasons such as the missing tattoo and the fact she is using the weapons in the opposite hands that the Operative was using them in. I more simple reasoning behind the weapons is that she was held captive by The Organization and had to fight her way out. She was able to defeat the Operative and stole her weapons to aid in her escape since she was unarmed. Now that is just all speculation on my behalf.

I’ve always found the idea of playing both base and promo characters in the same team appealing if it was thematic enough. Now that we know promo bunker and promo unity are not the same as their original characters, there is an opportunity to play them at the same time, much like Legacy and Young Legacy. What do you think? Are the bunker and unity deck different enough to play them on thr same team?

By looking a bit La capitan's text says "if there are no crewmates flip her". So my guess is that she will have two modes similar to Voss, depending on whether or not she has crewmates or dishes out damage on her own.

The Chrono-Ranger seems like a bounty hunter that places bounties and then gets bonuses when attacking those cards. Note that his base power is to do 1 projectile damage.

Omnitron-X uses plating and metallic punches. The protecton card seems to reduce (melee, projectile, and something else) damage by 3!! Combined with twist the nether from Visionary I see a great damage soaking team!

La Capitan has a few more titles visible under savage mana. L'épéiste (the swordsman) and Last breath (strange name for a crew member).

Omnitron X's ablative coating only reduces Melee, Projectile and Toxic damage dealt to Omnitron X by 2. Looks like the plating is a mechanic omnitron X is built around, having different defences available depending on what you face (though with only 25 HP to start, he may need it).

Very exciting stuff!

True, but a "Better-Than-Bunker's innate power" precedent had been set a long time ago.  Redeemer Fanatic and Team Leader Tachyon both have strictly better powers.  TLT, granted, benefits more from having cards in her trash rather than her hand.  But a 3-5 card boost is pretty incredible compared to one or two Burst cards left out of her trash.  Plus, she still has Research Grant if her Burst cards want more company in her trash. both have powers that are just plain "better" than Bunker's "Draw a card" power.

Yes.  In the base set.  See Visionary.

I still say Bunker's power is a good one, especially for him.  He needs cards more than any other hero, except Nightmist, but her power takes care of her.  Just try to ignore the fact that everybody is getting a better one these days.

RE

I'd say her and Ra's power are more "different" than better.  "Draw two, discard one", and "Draw three, discard two" end with one extra card in hand.  It allows for cycling, yes, but the player ends with one more card in their hand than they began with.  Granted, Visionary can choose which character can draw those cards, but Redeemer Fanatic's power is straight up "I can draw a card too, but better than Bunker."

The more cards you look at before you decide what to keep, the stronger the power. Imagine a power that said "Draw up to 40 cards. Discard X cards where X is the number of cards drawn minus 1." It's still only gaining you one card in hand, but it effectively lets you search your deck for as many cards of your choice as you have in hand plus the one extra. This is an extreme example, but it illustrates the principle that it is indeed more powerful to look at more cards even if you don't get to keep any more. It increases your flexibility, helps you get to the cards you want faster, and helps you respond to changing threats more efficiently. In a game like Sentinels where it doesn't hurt you to deck out, "Draw 3 Discard 2" is strictly better than "Draw 2 Discard 1" or "Draw 1."

I am not sure we can really compare the powers of two different heroes. After all, Mr Fixer's strike is worse than the Savage Haka's base power - but once combined with the cards of his deck, it can become very effective. The way a power and a deck interact are more interesting than the power taken alone.

"Draw two cards, discard one" is much better than "Draw one card".  It has the same net effect on card amount, but it gives you superior card selection.  I suppose you might regret it if you discard the wrong card, but that's hardly the power's fault.  Add to that the fact she can let anybody do it, Visionary's base power is strictly better than Bunker's.

RE
Reckless
2012-11-27 22:02 UTC

True. My point is that there is a power that straight up is "Draw a card and gain 1 HP," which is strictly better than Bunkers power.  I understand that the other powers are strictly better in terms of draw, but Bunker's Innate<Redeemer Fanatic's Innate and Rook City Wraith's Innate<Omnitron-X's Innate.  At the very least, Visionary and Horus of Two Horizon's better innate powers are a different flavor than an outright "and do something more" innate power.

That's fair. "Do the same thing but better" can totally feel different from "do the same thing and this other thing too." They're both better, but they sting in different ways.

Also, I think TheSoundOfTrees has a good point that they play different roles in the different decks. I do think that it can be illuminating to compare the powers directly, but I'm glad you jerked me back into perspective.

I should have worded my post differently :) We can of course compare powers, but an apparently weak power can be very useful or effective for a given hero.

Fanatic "draw one, heal 1" is better than Bunker simple "draw 1", but there many situations where Bunker has to discard cards as ammo (omni canon, gatling), and many where he can't draw cards anymore : this power is a way to help with this, as are Recharge Mode or the parachuting supply card. And he is better than Fanatic at keeping his HPs... Is it sufficient to balance these two powers ? I don't know, but I think Christopher kept all these parameters in mind when designing the powers and decks.

Or maybe I am a little too much on the defensive when it comes to heroes like Bunker :)

Bunker has the most cost efficient card to shut down the Environment deck:  Adhesive Foam Grenade.  Believe me, I love that guy.  He's saved our group more times than I can count.  But Redeemer Fantatic's Innate is straight up a mashup of The Scholar and Bunker.  Come to think of it...America's Greatest Legacy has a vastly superior innate power to The Scholar as well!

I suppose he is the Greatest Legacy.  Gotta be superior to something.

Re: Bunker, Like I said, he requires more cards than almost any other hero, and so he has an appropriate base power.  Compare this to Visionary - she is very much not reliant on other cards or powers, so she uses her better-than-average base power to supplement her game-changing one-shots and ongoing effects.

Redeemer Fanatic's Redeem is, on the surface, better than Bunker's Initialize, but to get that, she gave up a lethal double attack that used to define her playstyle.

Rook City Wraith's Sleulth is a strange, sometimes-useful power that Wraith's deck more than overshadows.  Meanwhile, here I would talk about Omnitron-X, but I can't.

Don't get me wrong I like Bunker at least as much as the next guy. But I kind of feel like his relatively weak innate power offsets some of his other cards which are really powerful. I definitely agree that it feels intentional. The only time I haven't really understood the thought process behind a power is the promo Tachyon. Jayzus that's an incredibly OP power.

I'm assuming that The Scholar's going to have buffs to his base power like Mr. Fixer. Things that splash healing to other heroes, or increase healing he does. That or he converts healing into other effects like an inverted version of Absolute Zero. I kinda feel like Heroes with weak innates get me the most excited to see what their deck does. :D

Well, in my few games with it, I have found that sole use of it means Tachyon is not as good at at getting cards in her trash.  It's kinda like the difference between Finest Legacy and Newest Legacy, just implemented in a different way.  It makes everybody else better to an absurd degree, at the cost of stunting her own effectiveness.  Does that excuse it?  Probably not, but we'll see.  :slightly_smiling_face:

My problem with promo Tachyon is that she ALSO has more HP than the original.

From one point of view, America's Greatest Legacy's power is the best power; it causes a power to be used and adds healing to it. So its effect will always be slightly better than the effect of any other power. Of course, making other heroes slightly better is perfectly in spirit with Legacy's theme.

Adhesive Foam Grenade is easily the best justification for Upgrade Mode. Being able to play that card and a Gatling Gun or Omnicannon is pretty handy.

I am sorry but I think that Bunker Power is just goddamn weak and stupid.

What is the point in using one of your power to draw one card ? if by entering a mode or using another card you can already do that ? if by entering a mode you are prohibited to draw that card ? If just by not playing you draw one more card ?

I simply cant remember when Bunker used this power last time, there is always something better to do with his power use : heal, deal damage, draw more cards. If at last this power had the note that it allow drawing cards even when in a mode that prohibite to do so, but it even had that. The only case I would consider using it is if my starting hand had no power cards... and that have yet to happen.

Bunker for the fail !

IKerensky: It's all in how you play him. I've used his base power quite a few times, when I thought I'd be better off trying to draw more cards to fuel something or get me something I needed/wanted as quickly as possible. If my teammates are managing the current situation, I'd rather draw and build than just shoot something, knowing that me drawing will let me do a lot more shooting later.

In late game, I've also used it in Turret mode when I needed more cards for the Omnicannon or for other purposes.

It just depends on how you play Bunker. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey Rabit, doesn't turret mode say you cannot draw cards? That's why Ammo Drop says something like "Even if a mode card doesn't let you draw." or something like that.

The base power of many heroes is a weaker version of one or their other powers or cards. In the case of Bunker, it is a weaker version of Recharge Mode. He needs lots of cards as ammo, and a good set up - recharge mode and ammo drop are the best help with this, but when they are not there, the base power helps a lot.

I use it often. Mainly in the first rounds, to have a good hand later, when dealing damage right now is not useful. Or when my main weapon is the gatling gun. Or when tanking damage while trying to charge the omni canon. And so on. It is not a shiny power, the kind of power you "wow! amazing !" at, but Bunker certainly can use it effectively.

I use it a lot more than Expatriette's :)

Facts as I remember at the end of the kickstarter.

Heroes:

Chrono Ranger - An out-of-time gunslinger from both the past and the future sent to hunt cryptids (including Plague Rat). Uses guns and crossbows and has some kind of bounty mechanic.

Omnitron-X - Omnitron's 10th iteration when it attempted to make an empathy chip and realized what a terrible force it was for the past century  and vows to stop itself. Maintains its ability to manipulate time as well as abilities it had as Omnitron Big (like ablative plating and a gauss beam).

The Scholar (Promo) - Laid back swamp man with the power of the philosopher's stone. Feels the strings of reality and manipulates as he sees fit. Not a lot of info on this guy.

Environments:

Time Cataclysm - The time stream is falling apart. Could be anything...it could even be a boat.

The Block - F.I.L.T.E.R. run extradimensional prison. Lots of bad guys in here and a warden who doesn't like super powers.

Silver Gulch (Promo) - Old west and hometown of Chrono Ranger. Has a "you lose" condition akin to self-destruct sequence.

Final Wasteland (Promo) - A world overrun by the likes of plague rat and others. Lots of monsters.

Villains:

La Capitan - Time travelling pirate. Has a crew that apparently is nasty. New nemesis.

The Dreamer - Villain with 6 HP. Have to defeat her creepy nighmares rather than her (she's just a kid). Visionary's nemesis.

Kismet (Villain contest winner) - Inherently lucky and inherently bad her powers are boosted by a talisman. Her nemesis is pictured on Shock Rounds (probably).

The Assistant (Promo) - A demure secretary with memories of the future. Bad memories. Hell bent on destroying the heroes and apparently very difficult. Also, not a villain target. New Nemesis.

Iron Legacy - He's bad news. With only 32 HP, we're afraid of what he'll do. Has a demoralizing presence. Is nemesis to all the Freedom Six (Tachyon, Tempest, Unity, New-Bunker, Wraith, and AZ).

I think the implication is supposed to be that it's not so much if Plague Rats wins as it is what would happen if Chrono-Ranger didn't do his time travel-Fu.  Could be just me, but I think the implication is that he's been traveling through time killing a lot of various monsters (werewolves, vampires, yetis, etc.) so that they don't take over.  Granted, Plague Rat and his spawn are a rather nasty faction of that desolate future (and one CR himself hates, since they ate his arm), but I don't think he caused it.

Sorry, I misread Rabit's comment.  I thought he had said he'd often used "Turret Mode" to draw more, so I assumed he meant "Recharge Mode".  I missed that he said he use "it in Turret mode", thus referring to his power being used in Turret Mode.  Nvm.

I'd like to combine them all in a large frame and put them up as decoration in my dorm room, but I've got to find them first. As of right now, I've only got two RC prints I found again recently, and I'll be getting the ST prints, but I want more than just five for this. I hope I can find mine, or someone willing to give me theirs who don't want them.

Couldn't you still play him until it comes out, like you could play the most recent version available to the playtesters? Or is it gone forever until the release.

Also will information on how each character plays be released before the expansion is out (I don't know if this was done for RC or IR and I'm sure only the creators know), I've been excited to see chronoranger and Omnitron-X since their announcement.

I could, but that would require a lot of printing again, plus the cards I use for backs are currently being used for backs in the new project, so I don't really have a proper way to carry any of it with me. Plus I like the excitement of being able to open up the game and play as characters that I haven't been able to play in awhile. Helps keep things fresh!

They haven't really revealed how each character plays out for the previous 2 expansions, or the things they have said didn't really reveal too much. Such as Mr. Fixer switching between different styles during combat.

Since I am such a nice guy I will reveal something about an upcoming hero using my Mr. Fixer example as a template.

Omnitron-X has a lot of components that can come into play and work similarly to that of Omnitron!

I just really can't wait until ST comes out so that all of us can start speculating with the whole community about things revealed in the game. Since I can't go into detail about certain cards, it makes it difficult to make points to the general public with no source.

So, without spoiling any of the cards, here's a theory: based on two card arts and flavor texts, I think Omnitron-X kills himself to destroy Omnitron. It's very sad. To all you N7 soldiers out there--remember what happened to Legion in ME3 on Rannoch? Kinda like that moment. All the feels.

My favorites are indisputably NightMist and Argent Adept, but Chrono-Ranger is my third favorite to play. The sheer amount of damage he can do is downright amazing under the right circumstances. He tends to take a bit of punishment for it, but if you have someone taking damage for him he's unstoppable.

Also, to echo what they said, the game is being printed. I assure you, you WON'T be disappointed. Shattered Timelines has some of my favorite bosses. La Capitan is really fun and creative, the Dreamer is completely unique, and Iron Legacy is just hard as balls.

I am so excited about Shattered Timelines, I have to say the Dreamer probably intrigues me the most, for some reason I think her flip side is going to be some monster demon or something that is controlling her and you can only win on the flip side.  Also looking forward to The Scholar, the fact that he looks fairly out of shape but incredibly smart just resonates well with me.

I also hope they don't sell out too quick, as I was unsure of how much I would like Sentinels at the time of the most recent kickstarter, I hope that I can pick up all the promos a la carte (a la Unity y Ambuscade) along with Shattered Timelines when it becomes available.  I am also hoping to snag the oversized villain cards and a couple replacement cards (damn drunk friends & my T-Rex!!!) to get my moneys worth on the shipping (I prefer FedEx over USPS any day so thank you >Games).
