Shattered Timelines. Playtesting is likely to start in about a week. Not sure when the Kickstarter will be announced, but probably pretty soon.

Not much,  we know the name, we know it has something to do with time travel and/or alternate realities.   There was an indication that one of the villains is going to be some sort of dream/nightmare-based kind of thing.   Would not be surprised to see Visionary's nemisis in this expansion.  There is also a good chance that we might see Plague Rats nemesis, a hero named Chrono-Ranger.

I know who one of the heroes is (not Chrono-Ranger), but I'm not supposed to tell :)

Oh, and I'm pretty sure we know one of the villains is going to be the contest winner, but not who that is yet.

I wonder if he is the cowboy being Ambushed by that Rat... I would expect something more futuristic but his backstory might involve somebody actually from the old west.

No no, he's wrong! Ignore that expansion title! The next expansion is actually called "Nothing to do with Time Travel or Alternate Dimensions, We Swear". True story; that's what it's called.

The box shows what looks to be Omnitron's nemesis (the robot, originally appeared as a small character on one of Aksha'Bhuta's cards), so I'm betting Mr. Red and Gold is the new Hero deck to go along with the new Villain deck.  What I'm really curious on is what the Promo Pack is.  I think the Promo Card is a promo version for a hero or villain, but is the Promo Pack a pack of multiple ones?  I hope so!

There must be at least 5 new promo Heroes on the stretch reward, given that it would be madness for promo-Ra, promo-Fanatic, promo-Baron Blade, promo-Omnitron and promo-Wraith to be a stretch reward and a separate pledge level.

There is some chance that Young Legacy is in the promo pack, or, less likely, that she's the new promo Hero deck, but the others basically can't be.

My bet, incidentally, is that Angry Legacy is a Villain, and Visionary's Nemesis.

That makes sense. So we're going to be getting a lot of new promo heroes. Interesting. Maybe they'll be the heroes that don't really have a place to fit in a future expansion (Tachyon, Tempest, Rook City heroes, etc.)

Hm... Interesting theory about Visionary's nemesis being future Legacy. That'd be quite a plot twist.

I never thought of that, actually, but Visionary coming back in time to prevent the tragedies and thus repurcussions of Legacy would lend itself to him being her nemesis to an extent. If she fails her mission, then it could just happen...unless it was her mission all along to destroy him...hmm.

This is one of the kickstarters I would back immediately, if the shipping costs to Europe weren't so ridiculous. It's not something you guys can change, I know. Hopefully it will end up in retail some day in Europe.

On the subject of Chrono-Ranger, I've got a theory on his nemesis relationship to Plague Rat:

Plague Rat is just one of his targets, and he's been hired to kill him. But this rat is his toughest target yet!

It seems likely to me that the stretch reward for 6 promo hero cards is for the six core game heroes that don't have a promo card yet.  (Tachyon, Bunker, Tempest, Absolute Zero, Visionary, and Haka.)  They would likely expand those guys first.  You know we're thirsting for them, if the constant debates on possible alternate powers are any indication.  (Okay, they're mostly for Absolute Zero.  But still.)

I'd like to make an addendum to that theory. I see it as an homage of the "Justice Lords" from the Justice League cartoon. In brief: In an alternate universe, the Flash (the hero who keeps the heroes most human due to his compassion and joking nature) is killed by Luthor. The JL get revenge, kill Lex, then take over the world under a supreme rule of tyranny. They decide to go and invade the canon universe and make it "right".

I think what set it off is something like that. Some tragic event cough death of Young Legacy cough will make the heroes take over!

That seems plausible to me as well. Honestly, my only surprise is that they're apparently not reprinting Young Legacy. I would have thought she'd be the most in-demand promo.

Though maybe she's the single promo card stretch goal, and isn't in the promo pack.

Whoa, we're already past halfway there! When did this Kickstarter begin? I wanna know how fast we actually make it.

I'm totally behind this whole theory of at least one future hero (Legacy) being a villain. It would only make sense, especially since he gets such a prominent picture on a card.

That's true, they might give us all of the promo cards for the other core heroes. I just figured those would be released in future expansions that the other heroes would be central characters in.

TH

Well, the point of being a promo is that they are a promo, i.e. a short promotional product run in order to entice early adopters or to temporarily increase sales.  Were the card to be available indefinately, then it wouldn't fit the definition of promo.

The kickstart started only a couple minutes before Christopher mentioned it in a question about Ambuscade availability.  Assuming my deductive skills are correct, it started at 9:59am EDT.  The fact it ends on Nov 29 at 9:59am EST means the kickstarter is getting 30 days and 1 hour.

This makes sense but there is also a single hero promo card at the stretch reward right before this one…so really there are 7 potential heroes getting promo cards.  There are 6 original heroes left, to me that seems like the likely choice, so who is the 7th?  Young Legacy was a fun promotion…the others (Wraith, Ra, and Fanatic) were tied to the storylines of the expansions they accompanied.  From the cover we can see Visionary and Legacy.  I'd guess the single promo will be a visionary card tied to this expansion.  They I'd guess 5 oof the 6 to be made up of the other core heroes with no promo…non expansion specific.  Leaving the 6th one…I wonder if if might not be an alternate Legacy character…vs the existing promo of his daughter.  That way all the people wanting a Legacy promo technically still can have one even if they missed out on young legacy.

Technically the numbers can work out with this expansion that they could complete the whole nemesis connection with this expansion (as just the expansion or if both the hero and villain decks get made).  Do you think we'll see this happen?  Will they round out Sentinel Comics Phase 1?

So, in addition to nemeses for Plague Rat and Omnitron, we would need nemeses for Absolute Zero, Visionary, Bunker, and Unity.  That's it, right?  Seems reasonable enough, but my guess is no.  I doubt they would make it that easy for us.  :slightly_smiling_face:

At least a few of those are assured, though.

Robot Man - Omnitron

Chrono Ranger - Plague Rat

These seem like pretty good guesses for the 2 heroes to me.  As for the villains and their nemesis...I think an evil mental split of Visionary fits here well since she is already a timetraveler...and on the cover. And if that is true it would be 2 out of 3 cover pairs being nemesis meaning perhaps the future Legacy is also a Villain? As Lugaro said...i want to see some evil hero versions bad.

Honestly, my only surprise is that they're apparently not reprinting Young Legacy.

But if she dies so that Legacy can become Angry Legacy, then I guess there's no reason to reprint her card. ;)

I would throw in the ring that there is still another hinted at hero as of yet seen…the mystery member of the Prime Wardens.  I can't even remember which card pictures them all but I feel like there is a guy glowing white or something while all the rest we had seen before.  Maybe my memory is off…i don't have the cards with me presently.  He could be a contender though too.  Or maybe the promo Hero deck…since Chrono Ranger seems like the Time Travel fit is too good to pass up.

Just another spectulation.

That white glowing guy in the picture you're talking about is just Argent Adept's Silver Shadow effect.  Probably isn't a new hero.

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that the promo pack is not in addition to the hero card, but rather that what was going to be a hero card is instead upgraded into a hero card pack, so not 6 + 1, but 6 instead of 1.

Do you really think promos would make it onto the box cover of the game? Seems odd to me. It seems like false advertising or something for someone just looking at the box on the shelf.  I even thought it surprsing to see omnitron there cause we know he isn't in the box.

Take note that the Kid can be a picture on one of the cards. it might just be a tease to see whgat happens and not an actuall playable card.

ANd if there are only two heroes, Omnitron (Good) and Chrono-Ranger seem to be the best bet!

Well, historically the expansion boxes have shown at least one environment, most villains, and all heroes on them.

We know Chrono-Ranger is (probably; 99.9% probability) in it and is Plague Rat's nemesis (for... some reason?) Unless he's the 100k promotional hero? Actually, that seems pretty likely. Unless there are more than 2 heroes?

The other hero is Omnitron's nemesis (pictured.)

Angry Legacy might be Visionary's nemesis. The child is probably a new hero (nemesis to one of the other villains). Note that she is probably not Visionary, as she is doing electric/telekinesis stuff and Visionary only does telepathy and clairvoyance.

I don't know - it kinda matches the pattern to date: a hero (or two) from the core set gets an alternate version for the expansion that's related to them (first Wraith, then Ra/Fanatic, now Visionary). :slightly_smiling_face:

Greatly looking forward to seeing the details…

Since we're getting a huge promo pack of heroes, I'd assume Dark Visionary is a stand-alone promo. I think I'm buying into the theory of those six promo cards that go together are the Freedom Six.

LM

That seems like a great way to show us the future of a big batch of heroes.  If that assumption is sound it also says that all the Freedom 6 are among the currently revealed heroes.

The child on the cover: confirmed as a young Visionary. Though, she's not a hero, she's an innocent you protect in a Villain deck. That is way cooler than I had dared to guess.

Ok, so we have proof that the last Vilain deck is Angry legacy :

Each character on the box cover is a split between a hero and vilain version of the character :

The Visionnary / Young Visionnary

Omnicron X / Omnicron

Legacy / Angry Legacy.

Now, who is the girl on the left side of the box ? look like the promo angry Wraith, but if it is a promo and not in the box, why is she here ? Mmh...

A little off-topic...

Where was it mentioned that the next expansion will not be funded via kickstarter?

If it's going to be traditional pre-orders, will we still got 'stretch' rewards? i.e. new hero decks?
