Visionary, Ra, and Tempest had all fallen to Grand Warlord Voss. The mighty Haka stood alone against the Thorathian threat, his many minions on the table and GCF Stalwart hovering about. Badly beaten by the alien onslaught himself, the warrior looks within, conjuring ancient power and the essence of those defeated at his own hands. Haka rushes forward, his fists before hand and lands a blow to the warlord that shakes the very foundation of the Wagner Mars Base. Where Voss had stood confident in his inevitable conquer of Earth just moments before, his troops drop their weapons in awe as their leader lay unconscious at Haka's feet.

Just played a lengthy, epic game against advanced Voss on the Mars Base where Haka (with only 2 HP left) laid down 60 HP of toxic damage to end the thing. Visionary fed him cards for the first half of the game until he finally found Savage Mana. He put it in play the next turn and then continued to Rampage minions off the board the rest of the game, with Ra changing the damage type from melee to fire and then granting fire immunity to his fellow heroes. Haka's massive hand was further fed by Dominion and Mere until every card he had was either in his hand or in play. Tempest drops in the second to last villain turn. Visionary and Ra follow in the last villain turn. Haka plays Haka of Battle, discarding 34 cards. He uses Savage Mana for another 26 toxic damage. Voss had "only" 47 HP left, so Haka ended up wasting 13.

I just had to share Haka's 60 HP punch. Has anyone else ever dealt so much damage on one hit?

I brought Akash'Bhuta from full health to 78 (so about 120) with one well-played Oblivion.

Not 60 in one blow but close. I’ve seen Visionary wrest the mind of Omnitrons Electro-Pulse Explosive in a 5 player game (before errata that could cause 55 damage to Omnitron) and I’ve seen Bunkers Omni-cannon take out Baron Blades side 2 in one shot (If I recall it did 56 total damage).

technically Oblivion isn't one blow,   if you're counting Limb destruction (because AB hits herself once for each limb destroyed)  but since its *effectively* one blow (one card/  one power)  then it counts for me.

I belted out a rediculous amount of damage with End of Days that way,  I don't remember how much,  it was probably in the 100-and-something range.

As far as true single attacks,  I believe Bunker with his entire deck under his omni-cannon is the most damage that can be done.   78 damage pre-buff.    This is quite hard to do, but I've gotten it up to 60+ before.

It's hard to be completely fair though, because this method eliminates tachyon from the running, who not only can hit for 60+ with 3 lightspeed baragges,  but can do that with a remarkable amount of consistency.

Just happened once: Mister Fixer with Harmony, Jackhandle, Imbued Fire, Galvanise and Bloody Knuckles dealing 6 damage to the Chairman, Operative and all their assorted bosses and minions. After most of the minons were cleared and Bloody Knuckles wore off, it just wasn't as effective.

I was playing a game a while back as Tachyon vs. Citizen Dawn, and we eventually lost. She managed to flip and actually stay that way for most of the game. We were all counting on me being able to play all three "Lightspeed Barage" cards in one turn, killing Dawn in one hit (she was at max HP) for 114 damage. Sadly, I was clinging on at 1 HP while being shielded by "Chastise" (playing with the 1st edition), but it was destroyed on the villain turn and I promptly took damage. Opportunity missed.

114!!!???!!! What the hell have you got going on that boosts damage that high? 22 Burst cards in her deck would be 66 damage from the three Lightspeed Barrages. I really need to play more Tachyon.

Well, he did say a while back.  I can't remember if Lightspeed Barage was worded as X or as foreach back then, but if it was worded as foreach, then, based on the interpretation then, a +1 damage would have made the 22 become 44. (I really think it was worded as X back then, so that likely wouldn't be it).  Plus, she has other cards she can play prior which allow more cards to be played, as well as dealing damage themselves.

The most I did (and I was rather proud of myself) was a 24-damage Omnicannon right in Voss' face. Didn't kill him, but it was more damage than had been dealt to him thus far, and it was only my second game of Sentinels, and first time playing Bunker.

Honestly, I can't remember the other circumstances of the game. I should have taken some notes or something, but I didn't. All I remember was us having the opportunity to use all three L-Bs at once, destroying Dawn from max HP in one hit, with a load of overkill. It may not have been exactly 114, but it was certainly very close to that, if not exactly 114. I can't remember if/how many boosts there were to the potential attack.

I need a ruling, guys. I know we've talked about AB's limbs being (techinically) multiple hits, but it's still impressive damage in one turn.

I just let Haka trap limbs all game, then unleashed with something like 6 of them under Savage Mana and +6 dammage dealt. Here's what we weren't sure on: Do AB's limbs deal their damage when Haka lowers them to 0HP and puts them under Mana, or when he "destroys" them at a time of his choosing?

We played the latter route, and he ended up dealing 109 damage from that one move. When we went to reduce AB and saw exactly 109HP left, everyone stood up and ran away from the table screaming.

It was an incredible end to a hard fought game, but did we deal all that damage legally? It seems too good to be true.

They only deal damage when first destroyed, when Savage Mana destroys them they only count as villain cards, no text.

Thanks Koga! I don't have the heart to tell that to my cousin, but it makes me feel better about my record he shattered when we played it wrong.

When Haka has Savage Mana out, whenever he destroyed a target it goes under Savage Mana - the only other effects that would trigger are those activated by that target being destroyed (so, hero effects like Ammo Drop, and villain effects like the Matriarch's reaction to Fowl being destroyed), since it is still destroyed. Once beneath Savage Mana, it has no text but is still considered a card of its deck (so, a villain card, environment card, or whatever). To get the damage out of it, you have Haka use the power which destroys all those cards a second time, triggering anything affected by destruction of hero/villain/environment cards for each one, again Ammo Drop works here for any villain cards being re-destroyed. But they are only cards, not targets (so destroying Savage Mana'd limbs when Akash'Bhuta is flipped wouldn't let the environment discard anything). Then you deal the damage, all the cards go into their appropriate trashes, and you can start refilling Savage Mana again by destroying more stuff. If Savage Mana itself is destroyed while there are cards under it, they go back to their respective trashes. I can't remember whether this counts as them being re-destroyed or not but I don't think it does - you're just moving them to the trash, not destroying them.

Me, my daughter, and a friend of mine fought the Chairman today and I omnicannoned his face for 24 HP.  First time I ever played that card before!  It was Legacy, Bunker, and Unity and we won.

House record for me is 27 HP done by Fanatic with Wrathful Retribution.

A player fairly new to SotM did 26 (after DR) to the Matriarch with Haka using Savage Mana this afternoon.  He'd been picking off birds since the start of the game, and right after she flipped he did a Rampage* to pick off eight birds and then fired off the whole toxic flock (14 cards).

This was followed up by the same player having Wraith do an Inventory Barrage for another 14 HP to finish the villain off.

* - Between Haka having -1 DR, Smoke Bombs, and two Stun Bolts in the Matriarch Haka didn't take any retaliation damage from blasting the birds.

Fanatic, Wrathful Retribution and Fixed Point has to be a good way of doing a lot of damage, since you could go to minus HP and not get incapped until Fixed Point went away.

But my money's on Haka with a 39 card Haka of Battle followed by, I dunno, maybe Rampage next turn?

I managed a 56 point Savage Mana on The Rotting God (10 assorted cultists and environment cards under SM and dumping my entire deck into the Haka, plus a couple of other bonuses I can't remember off the top of my head). Theroetically, with no support, Haka can achieve 34 cards (All of Final Wasteland's 12 targets and either GloomWeaver or Voss, both of whom have 22 targets in their deck) under Savage Mana and a hand of 38 cards for a theoretical maximum of 106. Tachyon could achieve 74 (Pushing the Limits, HUD Goggles and both Lightning Reflexes to play 2 Supersonic Responses and then all three Lightspeed Barrages with a burst filled Trash) but this is arguably easier to achieve as it only relies on her deck (and getting punched in the face beforehand).

I once managed a total of around 37-ish damage from having Haka eat a whole load of citizens, then use Haka of Battle to ditch his whole hand (about seventeen cards) in order to finish off Dawn. Who had either three or four hp left. Because I could :D.

Our current record of damage dealt to a villain was dealt by the villain herself - Akash'Bhuta with By Any Means on her and a whole load of limbs out versus End of Days, with the bounty, naturally, destroyed after she whacked herself for a zillion damage. End total was about 109 damage dealt or something like that. wasn't enough to kill her - she had about 42hp left. But very satisfying - main reason for doing the End of Days, really, was "Eek, she's getting rather a lot of stuff out, and so's the environment - we should probably try and take 'em down quickly…" :D.

I once managed an arbitrarily high number (read: not infinity, but close enough to count) using Absolute Zero, Fixed Point, the Isothermic Transducer, and Twist the Ether. And then doubled it with Coolant Blast. Basically, I play Frostbound Drain. Deal the villain 4 cold, deal myself 4 fire. Because I took fire damage, I deal one target 4 cold damage; I select myself, change the damage type to fire and increase it by 1 for Twist the Ether, and lather rinse repeat, increasing the damage until it's basically infinite. Because Fixed Point, I don't die. Then Coolant Blast totals up all that damage that I just did and deals it again in a single blow.

The Tachyon and AZ examples aren't one hit, and neither is Akash. Someone hitting themselves because you hit them (like Akash's limb self-harm) doesn't count as a single hit either.

AZ was too one hit. It took several hits to build up to it, but once I was done preparing the Coolant Blast would have done 1 Target X Cold damage, where X is the amount of fire damage I'd taken. That total being an arbitrarily high number; because I was indestructible, I could have easily made it total 1,000,000 if I felt like it.

The infinite chain reaction of hitting myself for fire causing myself to hit myself for MORE fire would eventually cause me to hit myself for (one hit) of 1,000,000s of damage, which would cause me to deal one other target 1,000,000s of cold damage in a single hit. The question was what was the biggest single hit you've ever done; there was no rule saying I couldn't hit myself millions of times for consecutively stronger hits first to make the last one more powerful.

In fact, I think my example's even better because with it I did millions of damage EACH with MILLIONS OF DIFFERENT HITS.

H=3 game against the Chairman, bringing Bunker and Unity, and you walked away with a win? I must say I am impressed! That is not an easy accomplishment at all.

I did 160 damage with Haka! (Savage Mana with +3 damage)

Though I was cheating...

I... don't think that's possible.

Even with a villain deck of all targets you would get a max of 25 cards from it, and that's only 50 damage. You'd need to use Realm of Discord's imbued Vitality and eat every ongoing the heroes put out too, and I don't think you could add 50 additional cards before the other heroes beat you to death!

Did you add the +3 to each instance of 2 damage? That's not how it's calculated, it's add to the total at the end. So 10 cards under Savage Mana would be (10*2+3) 23 damage and not (10*(2+3)) 50 damage.

EDIT: Bah! Forgot Haka of Battle so it might have been possible.

No, I have the first edition, where it says 2 damage for each card under it. I also had all the targets in the final wasteland.

Still, Haka of Battle only increases the first instance of damage, so if you dumped 20 cards your damage wouldn'd be 22 22 22 22 22 22, it would be 22 2 2 2 2 2 2. Still not enough for 160; especially without Obsidian fields to boost you.

I posted a short time ago with a very similar situlation.  We were playing the new Gloom and Haka had Savage Mana-ed every target in his deck as well as a couple enviroment targets.  He also had every card in his own deck played out or in his hand.  When he finally let loose it was 18 cards under mana for 36 damage plus 33 cards in discarded to Haka of Battle for a total of 69 damage in one shot.

Solely on his own Chrono-Ranger can manage 92 damage in one turn. With the perfect team, environment, and set up I think he can manage 172 in a single turn against a single target.

There's a thread on max damage for each character
