Will anybody be dressing up as a SotM character for the contest at Gencon? If so, what character? Got any cool pics you want to flaunt? I’m working on a Spite costume myself, hopefully I will be able to bust it out in time and it not look like a total train wreck.

I’m trying to get an Enhanced Edition Ra costume worked up, but life is conspiring against me. :-\ We’ll see what I can pull off…

Okay, I'm finally making time to get these pictures up. I'm sure there are better, more official pictures of the costume contest participants, but these are the ones I took.
TheJayMann doing a great job as Mister Fixer - I especially love that hat!
Two absolutely adorable kids as 2/5 of the Freedom Five (With Adam standing behind them, by chance!)
Unfortunately, I was unable to get my Ra costume together before the con. The approach we were taking for the shoulders and wrists was not working, so I've taken a completely different direction. Today I bought everything I should need to finish those components, so I should have it ready by... whatever the next SotM event is. :sunglasses:
(And for those who like Daleks, there were some great Dalek dresses. Unfortunately, I was only able to get a picture of one.)

Saw them all at the booth, think while waiting to get in on a game. Didn't realize it was TheJayMann at the time.

I'm talking with my group about putting together some costumes. I'm debating what character I want to do... I'm not blonde so legacy is out. Maybe young RA or Haka. I could do a lot of work and make a Zero or Bunker...
One of my buddies is talking about doing Tempest.
A Spite costume wouldn't be too hard. Or a gender bent Unity...

Wait… is the kid on the left Legacy or is he actually the Potential Sidekick from Spite's deck?

He is not just dressed as the Potential Sidekick, he IS the Potential Sidekick!
That young man is THE Thiago that card is based on. He is cosplaying himself!
Plus, his younger brother had one of my favorite moments of Gen Con. I was talking to their dad, and he mentioned his younger son was dressing up as "Sub Zero", to which the little boy sighed loudly, rolled his eyes, and said, "ABSOLUTE Zero, Dad. Geeze!" I just about fell over - it was adorable.

Bwah! That's right - you told me that, and I totally forgot. Which is insane, because it's absolutely awesome! (I wish we had appropriate emoticons to display my level of wanting-to-smack-my-forehead…)

There were at least three people there in costumes at Gen Con, and I never saw any of them? I'm sad I missed all this. Dakota and I were also considering trying to do some SotM costumes, but we decided we'd wait until another year when we had a little more money and time to construct them. And I'm hoping that year is Gen Con 2013. The only question is what costume I can make that doesn't require a lot of expensive components and is easy to make.
I could just take the lazy route: put on a suit and fake moustache, and bam. I'm The Chairman.

Just grow your own moustache! Facial hair is always the correct choice!

What Rabit said. It'd take me a couple more years to get even close to the ammount of hair needed for that moustache. Plus I don't like facial hair on me. It itches.

I'm currently in the thought process of getting the proper attire for Cursed Acolyte (for those who don't have Infernal Relics yet, the Cursed Acolyte is a cultist in GloomWeaver's deck) so that way I could cosplay as myself. First thing I would need to do is figure out what his pants and footwear are. Secondly I would have to do a lot of push-ups to fit the right body type.

When in doubt, I generally presume jeans and sandals.
I, personally, am considering going to next PAX dressed as Citizen Anvil. All I need to do for it is get in somewhat better shape, since his costume is pretty much just clothes.

Cosplaying yourself? I've seen it before (Potential Sidekick), but that still bends my mind. Not to mention makes me laugh. The idea is just funny.

Yes, also very awesome. You know, now that I think about it, I think Mr. Fixer is based off of JayMann! They look similar, right? It's undeniable!

So, you think an old, black, fit mechanic is based on a young, white, slightly pudgy inventory clerk (with asperations for information technology)? If you say so, heheh.

Hey, Citizen Hammer is supposed to be Adam, but they look nothing alike. Maybe he just really, really messed up the picture of you. And the backstory and whatnot. It's possible.

I thought the same thing when I compared when I first met Adam to Citizen Hammer. I even brought that up. Then, I was shown a picture of Adam from long ago, and he looks very similar to Citizen Hammer.

Oh, I see. That makes sense then. Yeah, it totally threw me off at Gen Con last month, which was when I first really met Adam. He was standing right next to Christopher, and I was still like "So where's Adam?"

On an unrelated note, I completely forgot to have Adam and Paul sign my cards. (I've had Christopher and Andy sign them though, and if I ever get enough money to get my face in a card (unlikely), I'll be more than happy to sign them for other people as well.)

I meant to bring then at last GenCon. (Actually, I had them with me, but either buried in my bag or left in my car.) Given I don't really have any travel money, I guess I'm waiting another year.
