If I actually had money to spend a bagillion dollars on this to get what I wanted, I would so pledge the five hundred for Character Elaboration and choose the Hippo Man from Haka’s Savage Mana card… Hopefully someone else will get around to it.

Edit: Fingers crossed for stretch rewards return with the New Baron Blade

I’m in. I see there’s no new alt hero card this time, which is a shame (I love stuff like that), but I’m pledged for a new copy of the core game and the new expansion. It will be a long summer while I wait for it to be delivered.

Haha, we could make a sub Kickstarter. All the reward levels will be “If this gets funded, we ask >G to make a Hippo Man card”.

Also, I am incredibly excited for the theme of this expansion. Those tentacles behind the pyramid! That tree person! I think mah heart’s a-splodin’!

It’s genius! I’m sure we’re not only two who desire Hippo Man to be there. I’d be happy if he was just be a stand alone promo villian card that can be used awkwardly with all villian decks.

I wasn’t too excited when I heard it was a arcane expansion, but after seeing the cover it got my blood pumping. Both heroes just look amazing, especially the female one. Not too mention the villians and it is only half the those. So glad I will be a playtester, going crazy just waiting until next month let alone in August.

If there will be alt heroes but no alt heroes are part of the Kickstarter, then does that mean that to get said alt heroes, you need to physically go to a convention and be handed one? I’m hoping not.

I will need more details on the Enhanced Second Edition before deciding.

  1. Will the card back of all the decks be updated?
  2. Will any existing art be updated?
  3. Will the new box hold just the base game plus 2 expansions? Will there be space for a third or fourth expansion?
  4. Will the storage solution be sleeve friendly?
  5. Will Young Legacy be re-released with thicker card stock? This is just for OCD me.
  6. What will the HP counters look like?
  7. Will there be damage count modifier counters? Damage type modifier counters?
  8. Will the pdf for existing first edition owners include the remastered environment decks with new art?

Thanks!

I’m just really glad that they added a new level of support because I wanted the 2nd Printing of Core, Relics, and the Promo cards, and they introduced a new support level! I was so happy about it since I was pondering which level to get in the first place since I wanted all 3.

I literally said the exact same thing to my roommate earlier. I say we should round up a group and have everyone chip in to get Hippo Man more “screen time”!

And I’m trusting you with the fate of the promo cards, Chris. I’ve already done my pledge, so if we’ll have “no trouble”, I’m assuming anyone who at least did the $30 will get them. I hope. Because I want every single card. Ever.

But if it’s like last time and getting the promo card is an extra $10-$15, no hassle. I can handle that.

RO

I completely agree with you, if only we know someone who is actually trust worthy enough to have them put the pledge in for that. I sure know I don’t want the responsibilty for it.

I think the thirty dollars was the lowest amount you had to pledge to get all the Rook City bonuses so you should hopefully be good in that aspect. I also want to have all the cards it’ll be pretty sweet.

If they ever offer that reward again, I honestly say we start a group and somehow pool our donations to get Hippo Man his time in the spotlight. Either him, or the orangutan with the lazer gun on Tachyon’s Lightning Reflexes.

RO

Maybe we can get enough people to get together this time around. And if we succeed we can speak to the boss peeps of >G how they would recommend use going about this. Heck i’d be willing to pitch in another $50 to see Hippo Man come to life. Guess a topic needs to be started to get it going. Though I am fairly bad about getting things organized.

Edit: Ehh… Maybe more like $20, thinking I may be spending too much as it is.

EV

#22

We’ll see. I don’t think I’d have enough money this time around to add to that donation, and I’d really love to help, but I’d have to save money for next time if we put this off. But if we wanted to do anything right now, we could just ask people what background characters they’d want to see. If enough people are with us, we know we’ve got the support. I honestly think the >G guys knew if they’d offer this, we’d try and pick the silliest character. Maybe they’re prepared for this.

RO
Ronway
2012-04-18 13:37 UTC
#23

So next time then! Sounds like a good plan indeed. I think they offered this because of a old topic of people wanting certain characters to be a card and Hippo Man was even brough up several times in it. So they surely knew people would want that one. They may even decide to make him just because the hype about him, thus no money spent at all! Which will be awesome if it were true.

EV
EvanDan55
2012-04-18 13:43 UTC
#24

Well, now that they know our plan, they may do something with him. Or someone else, seeing as at least one person at some point or another asks about the strange background characters. And we wanna see them all. I wanna see a deck where we have to fight all of those look-alike people (I call them the Other Heroes). But we’ll hold a “council” and decide which background character gets the spotlight.

RO

That would be really cool, especially if Hippo Man is voted to be the villian character card. I wonder how effective a villian deck would be with twenty-five minions though?

Okay, maybe not every single Other Hero, but how about the OHs of just the Freedom Five? Plus one more, to be the main villain. So it’d be the Freedom Five vs… Sinister Six?

I think it sounds like a really awesome idea. I’m just wondering why they haven’t commented at all about it. Maybe they are having trouble coming up with something due to the fact they were already thinking about making a deck like that and are now freaking out that their plan is ruined!

They probably haven’t said anything because either they haven’t seen this yet, or they’ve got some other plans for them, or just no plans at all.

Or, as usual, this is just one of those things we don’t get spoilers for. Which is fine. We can’t exactly ask for all the answers. Oh boy oh boy. Both a Omnitron and Baron Blade cards? I’m so looking foward to it. Will they both be keeping their original flip mechanic or are we supposed to expect something entirely new?

I think the reason being that the Art Prints come first is because they are the cheaper thing to have made. At the rate their going they should have no problem clearing Omnitron at least if not more.

Just a thought that may help boost the success of the kickstarter campaign even higher:

Additional pledge level(s): Currently, there is a huge gape between the $105 and the $250 level. Really, the gap goes from $105 to $500 since the $250 is sold out. This gap will get even larger when the $105 sells out. Adding a pledge level in the middle might entice some people to up their pledge. One way this could be done is with the battle mats. A new pledge level ($145 - Everything from the Maximum Completion level PLUS the play mat) may help more people realize this is an option. While $50 for the playmat is too rich for my blood, other items thrown in to create more steps on the ladder could possibly entice me to go higher.

More incremental extras:
This is something ZPocalypse did to entice backers to increase their pledges. Adding $10 for extra custom dice, tiles, etc. induced a lot of backers to up their pledges significantly. Currently, sentinels is doing this only with the $50 play mat (see suggestion for that above), but some smaller items (maybe something like extra punch sheets of the hit point counters from the Enhanced Edition) could entice a lot of backers to up their pledges by $5 or $10.

I’ve already made my statement about custom deck boxes/sleeves for the heroes, villains, and environments. Though I can see how that would be an unrealistic goal.

The playmat that is already designed is alright I suppose, I would really like one that has some art of all the heroes on it though. Or the heroes clashing with the villains!

Thanks to the little tour Christopher took last weekend, I got to see some peeks of the alternate Fanatic and Ra. I must say that the duo are pretty impressive (especially Fanatic, but, y’know…I’m a FAN-atic of her! A-huk a-huk a-huk!) in appearance (manly breasts! Metal visors! MORE WINGS!!) and I am not greatly curious as to what their new powers shall entail.

Wraith went from a shadow cat (with weapons) into an environmental controller (with weapons). Her HP changed, too, if I recall? Will these two get even MORE violent with their powers, or take some new approach? Fanatic uses divine retribution to cast radiant light on herself, compounding even more with her ability to strike fear in the hearts of those against her, all the more as her life slips away. Maybe she can throw her cards away or gain them?

I mean, those two have great combat-oriented powers: Slap one target in the face. Hard. What’ll they do in the future-land? Mystery, eh?

Things are getting REALLY close for Omnitron promos. I know the momentum couldn’t have continued as it was the first few days but I really hope Baron Blade comes to pass this time. Lots of time, as long as the buzz keeps spreading.

Oh…and on BGG they posted a cover pic of the enhanced edition and the NightMist pic in the core game and Infernal Relic photo galleries…how many thumbs does it take to make the front page of BGG? That could help spread the love if any of you are BGG and haven’t added any thoughts there.

These miniatures are cool. http://boardgamegeek.com/image/1242828/sentinels-of-the-multiverse

Any chance GtG will produce them?

Although they serve absolutely zero game function, but it’s just cool seeing miniatures on the table battling against the villain.

Btw, if they do ever produce them, we’ll need promo miniatures as well (i.e. Young Legacy, Rook City Wraith, etc).

New promos can be packaged with a character card and a miniature and retails at about the same price as Wing of War miniatures.

The board game Guardians of Graxia had miniatures that served absolutely no purpose. I use them as a replacement for BV trackers, but they are really just there to be pretty, or attract miniature lovers. Strictly card-based games generally don’t have a use, other than noting who is who, which is noted with your deck.

But those custom Heroclixeses are pretty nifty!

Yeah, I’d just rather get more alternate cards than mini-figures. They’d be neat and all, but I don’t see them serving too much of a practical purpose. I wonder if we’ll ever see an alternate Tempest or Tachyon, since we’ve already passed up their nemeses.

Maybe their promo cards could be another 'nother Stretch Reward here? I’m really looking foward to a Tempest Promo, being my favorite character and all. Granted since it probably won’t be a damaging power I probably won’t use it as much as his base card, kind of like I still haven’t play Wraith’s. It’s still a nice option though.

EV
EvanDan55
2012-04-24 13:30 UTC
#78

Yeah, I like them for the different options and what they’d be good for in different situations. I know I’ll be using the new Wraith when I grow the stones to take on Chairman in Rook City. You really gotta keep control over that environment. I’d like to see Tachyon’s new power be something like “take any burst card from your deck and put it immediately into the trash.” Or would that just make her too strong?

Maybe Tempest’s alt power would just be a focused attack, “Deal one target two/three lightning damage”

RO
Ronway
2012-04-24 13:33 UTC
#79

Yeah that would make Tachyon way too strong since it is the innate power after all. Now if it was a card then it may not be so bad.

That would work at pretty well, especially with Hailstorm in play you could still deal damage to multiple targets.

EV
EvanDan55
2012-04-24 13:35 UTC

Yeah, Tachyon can go through her deck fast enough as it is. Then maybe she’d take Tempest’s old power and just do one damage to everything. Then again, she’s got a ton of cards that let her do that already.

Maybe it’ll be the samething, just with the villian deck isntead? Hmmm… It’s so hard to think of a good alternate innate power for her since the one she has now is just so good. I guess instead of discarding the card she could play it would help out a bit more, but that would make her old power obsolete…

Yeah, she’d have way too much power then. I’m feeling it’ll just be a simple attack. That is, if we ever get those promo cards.

While we’re on alt powers, what do we think Ra’s and Fanatic’s will be? Since Ra is so based on dealing damage, what could he have? Maybe he’ll boost his next attack? Since that’d be a power, it’d take longer for him to attack, but he’d be stronger. For Fanatic, I could see it either being a small healing power, or more likely, a defense power. I’m thinking either “heroes heal 1” or “prevent 1 damage on each hero until start of Fanatic’s next turn”. That way she wouldn’t actually be giving everyone a permanent +1 defense. It’d just be a single negate.

I wonder if Dawn and Voss will get some promos too. I’m totally cool with alternate villains, especially if it means giving them a new way of playing their decks. Which I’m assuming they will be. What’s CosmiTron going to have different? Maybe he’ll start the game with a couple of drones in play? What if Blade starts with a Blade Battalion or a turret in play? (Along with his MDP)

I’ve been thinking about Ra and Fantatic’s promo card quite a bit and it isn’t ringing a bell. Ra may have a power that helps control environment in some way since he does so already and it’ll allow him to be played more of a support/control type character that can still squeeze in few big swings once and a great while.

I like both of your ideas for Fanatic and have none myself.

Dawn is already scary as of now, I would hate to see what an atl. card of her that makes her stronger would play out. Omnitron I can see having a healing factor added in, a lot more HP, and even some kind of cosmic attack. As for Baron Blade, not sure but I hope he is going to still have some kind of win condition because his last one was just awesome and that whole things is just an awesome idea.

Yeah, I hope Blade has some kind of other doomsday thing that has a timer of some sort. I like the suspense and dread it gives the game. And as scary as it sounds, some kind of “cosmic beam” from Omnitron does sound awesome. Let’s just hope all of the promos have good and interesting changes.

Does Baron Blade even have kids? There’s just so many questions about all of the characters’ families. But I’m pretty sure the alt Blade is the same guy. A while back (I think during the last kickstarter), I’m pretty sure it was mentioned that an alt Blade is still him, but with a new plan to destroy the world. I’m a bit surprised that after they added the “Upgrade Mode” pledge level, which was supposed to address the concerns of the hordes of people who wanted the new Expanded bits but didn’t want to have to pay for new cards, there seems to only be one person who’s pledged at that level. If just one person wants the bits without the cards, that’s hardly worth the expense and trouble of producing them separately, I’d imagine.

I’ll likely be an additional backer, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Also, I wouldn’t doubt if some people already pledged a certain amount didn’t just add $10 to their existing pledge for the upgrade mode stuff (which wouldn’t show as a backing in such case).

Yup… in the meantime play vs Baron Blade with 3 heroes, we seriosly came seconds away from the moon being dragged into the earth, like the damage that flipped his card would have triggered 2 cards going into the trash, which would have triggered us losing… had he not flipped. Curious how he will work since the text claims “no minions or gadgets”. New deck?

New Ra looks great… although did he lose a nipple in combat? I swear that is what the art looks like, LOL. I’m curious how he will be different, the current Ra is already a powerhouse. Maybe damage to EVERYTHING in play as a power?

It was nice of Blade to put those labels on the containers. Apparently whatever’s inside is extremely toxic (deadly), such as a carcinogen, mutagen, or teratogen, has a respective flash point below 73 F, and is capable of detonation. And is also radioactive, though that’s a non-standard symbol. I don’t think there’s such a chemical, though one could presumably mix Cyanogen (4,4,2,-) or Nickel Carbonyl (4,3,3,-) with an explosive, radioactive material of some sort.

And now I know more about the NFPA 704 Hazard Rating System than I ever wanted.

But hey! Check out this Unity girl! I was seriously not expecting an entirely new hero. Is she Omnitron’s nemesis? I was expecting someone in a robot suit, but this makes sense too. I wonder what she’ll play like. Maybe she can summon some mech golems to help her.

Side Note (Or, rather, relevant note): I did not expect, at all, that the SSAB would be an additional hero deck. Also, this expansion officially is collecting everything I would want in heroes. Greonhal, that is a hypothetically super awesome question. However, I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a cost that we had factored in when we originally planned on this stretch reward. We’ll only lose a buck or two per Unity deck, though the more people that buy them, the more that goes down. So, the biggest thing people can do to help is convince all their friends to back the Kickstarter and pick up the Unity deck!

Also, they should do that because she is totally awesome. Seriously.

CH
Christopher
2012-04-28 15:13 UTC
#151

That’s not at all a silly question! The issue there is three-fold:

First, we want to make her available to EVERYONE who might want her on the Kickstarter, and there are a group of people who are just pledging for the Enhanced Edition of Sentinels of the Multiverse that would not be able to get Unity as a result. We considered adding her to just the Enhanced Edition of Sentinels (because that solves for issues #2 and #3), but that runs into the opposite problem of not making her available to people just pledging for Infernal Relics/the Upgrade Mode package.

Second, she doesn’t really thematically fit with Infernal Relics, which may not be as huge of an issue to some, but that’s a big driving factor for us.

Lastly, and probably most importantly, it would actually create a TON more work for us to do so. Here’s why: anyone who has Rook City can tell you that, with the plastic insert in the box, there’s not room for another 41 hero cards. Were we to include another hero, we would have to make the Infernal Relics box bigger, which would mean a bigger insert, which, between all the changes that brings on, would cost significantly more than just doing a separate run of Unity.

So, I hope that helps give you an idea of where we are and why we are doing it this way. Thanks for your question!

Another question about production. For Rook City, I feel that the box is too big for just 3 packs of cards. For Infernal Relics, why not reduce the box size and save some money? Could it be it cost more money to make a smaller box?

CH

That was actually a standard box size the printing company had on hand and suggested to us for use, complete with the plastic insert. I see the pledges jump whenever there is concert information about the kick starter. I suppose that’s because people want to know what they are getting in to before committing the pledge. That said, I fear this slow release of information (I.e. releasing info only every tue and thu) might work against the favour of GtG. Maybe releasing all the attractive information such as the names, art and stories of all the heroes, villains and environments in Infernal Relics, as well as the new stretch unknown villain, wayyyy ahead of the end of the KS campaign would be a better idea.

Didn’t actually except him to come back.

3 Baron Blade
4 Promo Baron Blade
5 Citizen Dawn
6 Grand Warlord Voss
7 Spite
8 Chairman
9 Operative?
10 Matriarch
11 Plague Rat
12 Akash’Bhuta
13 GloomWeaver
14 Infernal Relics Villain to be Revealed (Fanatics Nemesis)
15 The Ennead
16 Ambuscade

Assuming The Operative is one of these then that’s 16 with the Ennead only having 1 card. So I guess we won’t see 9 villain cards in the deck, they must all be in the deck like citizens…though they may all start out at the beginning of the game or something.

Poor little Bunker, only able to draw a card and here Fanatic is able to draw and heal. So now Ra and Fanatic can get into their decks a lot quicker, which is going to be really nice to find all their wonderfully good cards inside their decks. Fanatic may now even become invincible since she even has armor that will restore her HP by ten if she reaches zero. I wonder how fun it would be to play normal Fanatic and if she reaches zero and has the equipment on she then regains that ten and becomes Redeemer Fanatic. Might make things interesting.

Well it isn’t too much better than “Absolution” unless she has a plus two to damage, but that doesn’t happen all that often. Now if you go into a battle knowing you want to buff her out than yeah you want the original Fanatic, but say she is with Ra, Expatriette, and Tempest. Only Ra will be given her a plus one if he has imbue fire, so it’ll bejust fine going in as Redeemer Fanatic. Now in a party of Legacy, Ra, and Visionary than it will probably be best playing as the classic Fanatic with how many buffs those three will stack up onto her. So it depends on the group if it’ll be worth it or not.

Yeah, that’s really the core. You’re going to play Bunker for specific reasons - and his base power isn’t it.

Besides, once Bunker starts rolling, that base power will rarely be used, but Ra and Fanatic are frequently using their base powers at all stages of the game.

I just feel guilty. I run SotM for my local college’s Game Day, and I’ve been disappointed by the fact that no one plays bunker. I have a sheet where I keep track of other people’s hero selections and first time player selections and Bunker is clearly on the bottom.

You don’t need to tell me why he’s good, because I think he’s solid. On the other hand, other people don’t seem to have a good impression of him.

I think that part of that is that he’s visually less flashy than most of the other heroes. If I’ve got a choice between several things that are relatively equal, I’ll almost always go for the one that is prettier or sparkly or somehow more interesting.

But preferably sparkly :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s true. The first game I played with a couple of my friends after picking the game up I chose Tempest because of his awesome lightningness. Another chose Fanatic because the angel thing looked really awesome and the other chose Absolute Zero because his innate power was a bit different. Sadly Bunker isn’t appealling to look at, innate power isn’t anything special, and he’s in a big robotic suit. And after someone has played him they also realize he is probably the slowest starting character there is. I’m not trying to bash on Bunker, personally I think he is really fun to play and is always a very valuable team member when he has all his cards ready for Turret Mode. He’s able to maintain his own health and still do some very powerful damage all in the same turn.

VY

Also, his title is “indestructible” and he only has 28 hp. That puts him tied for 5th lowest so far (with Mr. Fixer) out of the 12 non-promo heroes. Maybe his base power should have been like his armor plating, reducing all damage done to him until his next turn…

I don’t share your optimism, actually. I don’t recall, for instance, there being an acceleration at the end of the first Kickstarter, but perhaps I’m misremembering.

I think the last one didn’t raise too much in the end, but it was not as well known back then as it is now. Now that SofM has been out a lot longer and more people have covered it should hopefully generate a lot of people. I am not 100% sure on it but I find it best to optimistic. Just think there are a lot of people who hold back their pledges just to see what all they will get in the end so they can opt in or not.

I am kind of mixed about the oversized cards. For the same reasons you said. But they will be pretty neat just to have, much like the HP trackers. But in anycase I think there will always be something bettter that could of been offered, so oh well. One thing the oversized villian character cards could do to make them a lot better is to feature different artwork.

Kickstarter also sends out a reminder about projects you are following when there is only a day or two left. I expect a bit of a surge from that. Plus the last couple of days have been higher than usual. It seems to have coincided with the Defenders of the Realm card game that Richard Launius made. So there are probably some people coming in from that.

We certainly don’t expect it this time, as we aren’t really sure what to expect on the Kickstarter, day to day, but we definitely had a jump in the last two days of the Rook City Kickstarter.

Proof!

But I don’t know if that was indicative of the sorts of things that happen on Kickstarter, or just a fluke. Remember, this is just our second foray in the realm of Kickstarter, so the only expectation we had for this was that it would work - we wouldn’t have done it if we didn’t think it would work.

We certainly didn’t expect it to fully fund in a day. Or for the funding to double in under a week.

Or for us to be at over $80k in the last week.

We’re pretty much blown away by all this. So, thanks!

Well, personally, I kickstart a lot of stuff. My standard practice when I see something interesting is to “star” it and then ignore it. As someone mentioned above, 48 hours before it ends, kickstarter sends me an email. Then I browse to the page, fully investigate the project, its pledge levels, and its stretch rewards and pledge appropriately if I’m interested. Obviously it was different for IR, which I pledged the very first day, but for most things I kickstart, I don’t pledge until the last 48 hours, so I would also expect a surge during that time. I’m not saying my practices are standard, but I’m sure at least SOME people do it the same.

Not sure who these belong to (I think a villain, actually…) but I see cards labelled, “Personal Cloaking Device,” “Custom Hand Cannon” (x2), “Automatic Drop Turret,” and something scribbly and unintelligible.
EDIT: These are all devices belonging to Ambuscade, actually. The hand-written one is another Drop Turret.
“Personal Cloaking Device” has 12HP and reads, “When this card enters play, flip Ambuscade’s villain character cards.”
“Custom Hand Cannon” has 4HP and reads, “At the end of the villain turn, Ambuscade deals the hero with the most cards in play [either 1, 2, or 7] projectile damage.”
“Automated Drop Turret” has 8HP and reads, “At the end of the villain turn, this card deals the hero target with the highest HP [3?] projectile damage.”
So I guess that helps to answer the questions about how he decides which hero is the biggest target.

One of the heroes (NightMist, I think) has a card called, “Enlightenment.”
EDIT: Interestingly, that card seems to have some sort of previously-unknown red symbols on it. NM also has 27 HP.

The Argent Adept has a card called, “Synchronized Or[something]”.
EDIT: Make that, “Syncopated Or[something].” He also seems to have 24 HP.

Unity has cards called, “Modular Workbench” and “Platform Bed” (?), as well as a card that looks like it says, “Fusion Foo…” before it runs off the edge of the pic.

Syncopated Onslaught is the Argent Adept card. The scribbly card looks like it says “Automated Drop Turret” too (not sure why there’s a printed copy and a scribbled copy).

It looks like Ambuscade’s cards all have hp tokens next to them, which must mean they’re all targetable.

Unity’s power is nearly impossible to make out, but I think the first line is “Power: Destroy 1 Equipment…”, which fits if it turns out that she can destroy equipment cards to get effects.

Argent Adept looks like he’s got 34 hp and NightMist looks like 27.

Unity’s cards are:
“Platform Bot. HP[#?]. Mechanical [Object? Creation? It’s got a round letter in front. :/].” The actual text is unintelligible.
“Modular Workbench. Equipment. Power: [Unintelligible].”
“Flash For[ward?].”

Her power, as Spiff pointed out, starts, “Destroy 1 Equipment card [three words, unintelligible] a Mechanical [Something, see above] [face-down?] into play.”

NightMist’s character card is completely obscured by glare, but her one visible card, “Enlightenment,” is pretty interesting looking. Its keywords are, “One-shot, Spell.” The actual text is, “Reveal the top card of your deck. NightMist deals herself that card’s [Symbol] infernal damage. One player may draw that card’s [Symbol] cards. Put the revealed cards into your trash. [Big Symbol].”

Guys… I think we’re dealing with a Mana system of some sort.

Oh my what in the world could they possibly say? Oh wait, I don’t have to wonder, got my own printed cards right here. That was so silly of me.

From my quick read over on the post and not comparing them to my cards, i’ll say some of you have some pretty good vision. I even opened up the pic on my computer and I can barely make out the words, which is pretty bad since I have 20/20 vision.

SL

2012-05-14 02:26 UTC
#321

Yeah, but what’s the fun in that?

EDIT: Also, I see the word “damage” in NM’s power, so that’s something too, I guess.

AA’s “Syncopated Onslaught” is pretty illegible, but its keywords are “Ongoing Rhythm” and it’s sorted into two labelled sections. The second of which reads, “Ap[something]: The Argent Adept deals 1 target 1 energy damage.”

Aaaaaand I think that’s all the information I can squeeze out of this image.

EDIT: So, all the information I got from this pic is compiled below.

Ambuscade:
“Personal Cloaking Device: Device. 12 HP. When this card enters play, flip Ambuscade’s villain character cards.”
“Custom Hand Cannon: Device. 4 HP. At the end of the villain turn, Ambuscade deals the hero with the most cards in play [either 1, 2, or 7?] projectile damage.”
“Automated Drop Turret: Device. 8 HP. At the end of the villain turn, this card deals the hero target with the highest HP [3?] projectile damage.”
According to Christopher, “TOUGH” but not “TOO tough.”

NightMist:
27 HP.
Power somehow involves the word “damage.”
“Enlightenment: One-shot, Spell. Reveal the top card of your deck. NightMist deals herself that card’s [Symbol] infernal damage. One player may draw that card’s [Symbol] cards. Put the revealed cards into your trash. [Big Symbol].”
Presumably utilizes some sort of Mana system.

The Argent Adept:
24 [34?] HP.
“Syncopated Onslaught: Ongoing Rhythm.” Two labelled sections, the second of which reads, “Ap[something]: The Argent Adept deals 1 target 1 energy damage.”

Unity:
Power: “Destroy 1 Equipment card [three words, illegible] a Mechanical [Object? Creation?] [face-down?] into play.”“Platform Bot: Mechanical [Something]. HP 2[?].” The actual text is illegible.
“Modular Workbench: Equipment. Power: Discard[Destroy?] 1[2?] card[s?]. If you do, put [#?] Mechanical [Something] into play.”
“Flash Fo[rward?]: One-Shot. [Illegible]”

EDIT: Including ketigid’s interpretation of Modular Workbench.

I think Modular Workbench says Power: Discard[Destroy?] 1[2?] cards? If you do, put ? [Mechanical D***] into play. And that [Mechanical D***] seems to be the same keyword as the Platform Bot [HP:2?].

I really like NightMist, her playstyle it just so interesting. She can really cause some true chaos and wipe all the evil baddies to oblivion with her onslaught of magical abilities. She is a little difficult to handle in some given areas, but that’s all fine and dandy, since after all she is a master of magic. Though the main reason I may prefer her over The Argent Adept is because I play solo too much and he can become complicated. As for Unity, I think she is a very nice addition to the squad and offers something new to the game.

Now I shall stop typing or else I may start going into things that’ll get me out of being a playtester since I want to so want to go into so much more detail about the heroes.

Paul posted on the Kickstarter:
“Actually, we will be asking for playtester info as part of the survey that should be going out tomorrow - the sooner we have your response, the sooner you get into the playtesting forum! So it’s entirely possible that you will be in as of this weekend.”
So my dream of being able to have everything ready Thursday night seems for naught. Oh well. I’ve waited this long, I can wait a few more days. It won’t drive me TOO crazy.

Is there any way more cameo appearances could be added? Or a separate cameo level to be in unitys or ambush adds decks…I personally don’t have the funds to do this but that sure seemed popular. I know there are only hours but I want more environments…oversized villains is fun…but environments add to gameplay.

Just think, there is always next kickstarter. Just like in Rook City it didn’t reach the Baron Blade reward level but it made it in Infernal Relics. Not to mention that I kind of think that the 50k reward in Rook City may have also been Untiy, or maybe the playmats?

Probably Unity. Although I love the description of that one:

Gotta say, great job on the Kickstarter. I always like seeing projects that I’m very excited about do well. The most exciting part to me is actually the number of backers, not the monetary total. The Kickstarter was essentially two projects for separate projects rolled into one, so it’s hard to say “Look how much more money it made than Rook City.” However, it was nearly four times the final backers. That means more people are playing, and more people who will be drooling for the next expansion. That’s sustainable momentum!

There’s several little hints and bits that make me think that one of the future expansions is going to have a time-travel theme (much like Rook City’s gritty-urban theme and Infernal Relics’ magic-and-mythology theme). It will probably contain the Visionary’s nemesis from the future (which may very well be a version of herself) and the speculated-upon Chrono-Ranger to take on Plague Rat. If Red Legacy shows up as a villain for the game, it will probably be in that set.

I wonder if Chrono-Ranger will be a time-traveler himself, maybe from some kind of Temporal Protection Agency (at which point the >G guys will have to fit some some reference to Torchwood or Jack Harkness on his cards “Oh, c’mon… I thought crap like this only happens in Cardiff!”), or if he’s a modern hero with time-altering powers and an affinity for Stetsons and revolvers. If it’s the first case, what the hell does Plague Rat get up to that warrants sending an agent back through time to stop him?!

Of course, I’m assuming that Chrono-Ranger would be a traveler from the future. Maybe he comes from a secret agency that has existed in the shadows for centuries and got stranded while scouting for threats his agency would need to be on the lookout for.

I’d die happy if one of Chrono-Ranger’s cards had something that looked vaguely like a blue police box somewhere in the background.

The majority of this post probably belongs in the “World” subforum. Apologies.

Maybe – and this is just a hunch – maybe it has something to do with spreading a plague? Alternately, Chrono-Ranger’s future is overrun by giant mutant rats.

CH

facepalm If I’m missing things that obvious, maybe I shouldn’t be allowed to drive…

Still, Plague Rat’s nasty, but is he really a temporal-scale threat? In the game itself, he’s a damage-dealing beast, but sending a time agent to deal with him?

Maybe in one future timeline, Plague Rat infects and controls the majority of the current heroes, using them to lay waste to the Chairman and his Conspiracy, which drove Rat underground in the first place. Chairman Pike retaliates with extreme prejudice, turning Rook City into a blighted wasteland which claims the lives of its indigenous heroes. The remaining villains such as Citizen Dawn and Baron Blade seize the opportunity to strike hard and advance their agendas, with Dawn and Blade teaming up to help repel the threat of Legacy and the Freedom Five (Six?), leading directly to Pauline Parson’s death. This, in turn, forces Paul to desperate measures, leading him to put a permanent end to Dawn, Blade, and anyone else threatening the security of his world. With no one left able to remotely threaten him, Legacy declares a new golden age for the world, enforced by him at any cost. The existing transhumans either work for Legacy or are destroyed, the reasoning being that if they are controlled or eliminated, they can’t wreak unmitigated havoc on Legacy’s world. The world’s governments, rendered effectively powerless as long as Legacy rules, begin to devise weaponized transhuman programs that will allow them to throw off the yoke of Legacy’s rule; it is one such program that gives birth to the Visionary. The tension between Legacy and the remnants of national governments reaches critical mass. Then, Legacy’s most trusted lieutenant is murdered in his sleep, which ignites the powder keg, creating the future the Visionary is so desperate to stop.

Unbeknownst to anyone, the Visionary and Chrono-Ranger are actually working toward the same goal; the Visionary sees too much of a big picture thanks to her abilities, and feels that tempus is fugiting furiously thanks to the bleeding aneurysm, while Chrono-Ranger knows that as long as Plague Rat is stopped before a certain time, then the majority of the catastrophe will be averted.

Odds are that I’m completely wrong, of course.

Even if you are wrong, it is a very interesting theory and applaud the story anyhow. One issue that has been revealed that you didn’t mention is that the back of Young Legacy’s card is where the start is switched to Visionary’s turn. So maybe Plague Rat killed Young Legacy and infected Legacy, maybe? Only time will be able to hold the answers and sadly none of us can time travel… Or can we?

You know what’s a long ways away? August. And now that the Kickstarter is over and the river of fun new reveals and content-ey type stuff has dried up, it’s going to be a long, parched summer. But you know what would help deal with the burning trip through that desert? Finding out what the new rules are for Vengeful Baron Blade and Cosmic Omnitron. Since you don’t need a new deck to play those alt versions, they would be useful immediately. Refreshingly, cooly satisfying and useful…
