So, I was reading the heroes bios again while counting down to the release of Rook City, and I noticed something that I hadn’t noticed before. I did a quick search on the forums and found no results either.

In Visionary’s bios, two things caught my attention.

 1. That, in 2018, there exists the Freedom Six whom the Visionary fought alongside. This meant that Visionary was not part of the Freedom Six, which begs the question, who is the 6th member? (Also a related question, in what comic book year was the base game released? Rook City?)

 2. That, since there’s an alternate Visionary in the current Visionary’s mind, will we see that alt Visionary as a promo card? Eventually?

Today, there are only the Freedom Five - Legacy, Tachyon, Absolute Zero, Bunker, and The Wraith - I’m assuming that in the future Visionary joins as the sixth.

I think Visionary’s subconscious is probably an awesome and scary place. Definitely something that would be cool to see more of in future expansions.

Visionary’s subconscious should break free and be a villain in a future expansion … and, of course, be Visionary’s nemesis.
Fast forward to 2018: the U.S., already severely crippled by an increase in super powered criminal activity, fell to the combined forces of the Pan-Asian People’s Republic. While she’d fought alongside other heroes, including the Freedom Six, her efforts eventually proved fruitless.
I interpreted the text from the bios, that Visionary fought together with the Freedom Six but is not part of the Freedom Six?

That’s my interpretation as well. Were I to take a wild guess, I’d guess the Sixth Member of the Freedom Six is ‘Young Legacy’.

Young Legacy is not alive in The Visionary’s timeline.

The Visionary’s timeline begins with the events depicted on the back of America’s Newest Legacy’s character card. That is where it splits off from “our” timeline.

The Visionary is not one of the members of The Freedom Five. Or The Freedom Six.

(I’m not trying to just come along and be a nay-sayer; I just want to give people what minor answers I can and keep everyone on the right track. These conversations are exciting! But I cannot give away too much, due to a lot of stuff being planned out for expansions… and other materials…)

Oh, now that is really neat the back of Newest Legacy’s card is a splitting point. So I take it that is when he begins wearing a red suit and plans on extracting revenge on who ever took her out but then becomes consumed with the rage and becomes a villian himself? Meaning that the Freedom Six doesn’t contain Legacy either, so two other heroes are added in… Out of current heroes I can see Tempest joining them and that’s really about it, seeing as most appear solo. This is my most anticipated expansion, kinda wish it was the first one but at least Rook City is exciting. Got my fingers crossed that it’ll at least be the next one.

Seeing as there are two heroes per expansion it may be the two heroes from the Freedom Six then? Legacy in the red suit as a villian a suppose? And the other three could be new villians entering the fray that form Oppression Four?

Where the reference to Red Suit Legacy? It’s not the first time I’ve heard it, but I can’t find the initial reference…

He’s on one of the cards in Visionary’s deck.

Red Suit Legacy appears on both Legacy’s “THOKK!” and Visionary’s Prophetic Vision cards.

Those are two different Legacies. Look at their outfits and hair color.

So Red Suite Legacy is the Last Legacy! (Since Felicia is dead on the back of her card and it’s not like he can have another ‘first born child’). Hence the red suite, giant neck, and grimace? That would be a comic I would read - the All American Hero with nothing left to live for is a trope I can dig.

I imagine that THOKK-Legacy is bizarro-world Legacy, 'cause every series has to have one of those storylines eventually, when the heroes have to face their evil twins/clones/doppelgangers/whatevers.

“Red Legacy,” with the gold armor and brown hair, is alternate-future Legacy. I like Beevolant’s ideas about him.

Oh really? I figured the few changes on the costume were just because the detail was a little lower and it was taken place during a battle so things fell off. Color isn’t really my strong point, so differences in colors aren’t something I notice very well, not too mention I never actually looked at them side by side. So already have two Legacy’s joining the party? I am now even more intrigued.

Whoa… this is quite a lot of info. I never actually figured that the flip side with Young Legacy’s death was another potential (or I suppose parallel) timeline.

Which gave me an idea. If Young Legacy’s death is another timeline, then I’m going to assume that The Wraith’s flip side is another timeline, or at least part of one of the two we know of so far. There’s a grave that says “HERE LIES THE WRAITH”, with a woman’s silhouette standing behind it. So… I’m deducing that in one of the timelines, Maia Montgomery dies, as is possibly replaced.

My reasoning is that if the Young Legacy card represents another timeline, what about The Wraith’s alternate promo card we’re getting? It’s occurring to me that these promo cards aren’t just for new powers and new art: they’re alternate timelines. One Wraith lives, and the other one dies. Maybe she’s killed by Spite. But there’s one more promo card: the Baron Blade we all missed out on. I don’t know what’s different about his life, but something is different.

I think SlenderTroll is right about the heroes having to face evil versions of themselves. So far I’ve seen:
Legacy - Legacy in red
Tachyon - Tachyon in red
Fanatic - man with black wings
And that’s all I’ve found so far. So I can see evil heroes being a thing.

I’m going to go ahead and assume that all of the flip sides actually happen in one of the time lines. So, in some time line(s)…
-Young Legacy is dead
-Legacy is dead (not in the same timeline as YL’s death)
-Maia Montgomery is dead
-Absolute Zero is most likely dead
-Tempest loses his left arm
-Fanatic is captured/ badly wounded
-Visionary’s evil side takes over
-Haka is about to die?
-Ra looks like he’s turning evil?
-Tachyon is about to get really hurt
-Haka is about to die?
-Bunker is pretty much fine…

And that’s all the new thoughts I’ve had.

I’m just thinking… Red suit doesn’t mean evil, right? It may simply imply that in a different timeline, Red Legacy and Red Tachyon may be part of a different hero team, still fighting evil no less, but perhaps with different personal agendas.

They did state that the alternate Baron Blade just took place after his original card, it was just one of his probably many schemes to destroy the Earth.

I’m not sure if I have referred to him as a “evil” or not, but if I have then my mistake. My theory he will only be a villian do to the fact of Legacy’s way of doing things compared to red suit Legacy’s way of doing things, I can see him actually straight up killing the villians of his time to make sure they can no longer do any harm. The death of his daughter would cause him to leave the Freedom Five and become distant, probably replaced by two other heroes to fill the shoes of Legacy making it the Freedom Six. Now if the are opposed to him or not is a mystery, but I think they couldn’t stand to see Legacy killing anyone even though they are criminals. So they all go at it once in awhile. It may also be possible the entire Freedom Five may have accepted the new Legacy and even went along with his new agenda.

I always held the idea that the “Red” Legacy is like when Superman teamed up with Lex Luthor when Lois fell to her death because Superman wasn’t quick enough (a timeline split where in the “real” timeline he saved her just in time), or the formation of the Justice Lords in reaction to the Flash dying (both based on animated series, not the comic series, the latter of which I’ve never read).

These alternate versions of the heroes may not be evil just because they look a little more sinister than the regular heroes, but it’s pretty obvious the two groups come into conflict, since Legacy and Fanatic are fighting the look-alikes and Tachyon looks like she’s about to fight that other one. But let’s just designate this other group the “Other Heroes”, since we don’t know if they’re evil or if the two groups just happen to have a dispute. I think Ra’s Other Hero is the Anubis on his “Scorched Earth” card. Those are really the only ones I see, except for the very unlikelihood that… thing… on Bunker’s Flak Cannon is an Other Hero. That’s probably not true, but seriously, what is that thing?

Hah. I can see it, how the ‘head’ looks like the front of a train.

In mildly related news, a series of unfortunate events meant that I’d not touched my decks in a few weeks. I just opened my deck box in order to look at Flak Cannon and the familiar sensation of my fingers flipping through the decks brought a smile to my face.

FrightTrain? Makes sense, I suppose… I wonder if that thing is stuck on his head. It kinda looks like he barely has a head. So I’m guessing all of these background villains have names? But I doubt they’ll come into play (except for the Other Heroes). I’m still curious about the man in a hippo costume on Haka’s “Savage Mana” card. At what point when someone is turning evil do they decide “Hey, you know what I’m gonna wear? A hippo costume. That’ll strike fear into the hearts of people!” At least Haka put him in his place.

He wasn’t even a villain: Haka just didn’t like his costume!

(This may or may not be true. (It probably isn’t.))

Maybe that was during the after school special where the heroes talk to the kids about staying in school so they can have a good career and don’t have to work wearing a hippo costume.

We call that guy "The Hippster".

This thread has convinced me to sit down and look at every card in the set. There is so much I've not noticed going on.

At Gen Con, Christopher, Adam, and my girlfriend Dakota all informed me that hippos have the capacity to be very violent creatures. I never knew.

Hippos are terrifying. Even Haka knows that, as he mentions in the flavor text of the Enhanced Edition version of "Elbow Smash".

Don't forget guys, Visionary's whole point is to stop Legacy from going all Jack the Ripper. Hopefully she can stop whatever it is that kills Young Legacy.

That being said, it Young Legacy might not be the reason he goes nutso. He has a wife and other kids, right? What if something happened to them?

As far as the Freedom 6 goes, there are more than a few cards out there with Ra and Legacy together. I wouldn’t be surprised if he joins up.

I generally abide by the mutipl universe idea. So she would still exist, there just wouldn't be another one in that future… did that make sense?

I'm not so sure about that. I'm thinking his wife has already died or maybe split up since the GTG folks wouldn't reveal anything about her. Unless I missed the information about her. Nor do I recall anything ever being stated about other kids.

Maybe Haka is the #6?   Visionary's Prophetic Vision card shows Tachyon, Haka, and Wraith clearly together (and in trouble, from the looks of it).    So thats, 2 members of the current FF associated with Haka in a futuristic vision thing.   Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but could be.

I feel the easiest additions to the Freedom Five would be Unity (who already works with them as an intern or something) and Tempest. However, after losing his arm, who's to say what he's up to. Megalopolis was saved and Voss turned away (for now), so maybe he went off in search of anything else his people may have brought with them and survived.

And hippos, like keyholes, are, indeed, a menace. Also, commas.
