If SotM became so big that it got it’s own animated series?

I know I personally would love that, being a huge animation and VO fan myself. Should that happen, I’m going to push really hard to be put in charge of the VO casting and direction.

Oooh! An animated series would be awesome!

Now casting it in my head… Nathan Fillion as Legacy feels like a given. Michael Dorn as Grand Warlod Voss would be cool. I really have no clue how I think Visionary should sound though…

I started typing this as a sentence, but it will make a much better list. If you want specific reasoning for any of them, let me know. This is what I would do, given creative and financial freedom:
The Heroes
Legacy - Townsend Coleman
Wraith - Mae Whitman
Absolute Zero - Brian Drummond
Bunker - David Hayter
Tachyon - Tress MacNeille
Haka - Phil LaMarr
Fanatic - Elizabeth Pena
Tempest - Doug Jones
Ra (Human) - Nathan Fillion
Ra (God) - Ron Perlman
Visionary - Jennifer Hale

The Villains
Baron Blade - Jason Isaacs
Citizen Dawn - Lisa Edelstein
Grand Warlord Voss - Keith David
Omnitron - Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey would be perfect. If anyone has any doubts about that, go watch Moon.

Not to toot my own horn, but all of that casting is perfect. That’s a REALLY high-budget cast though, so it’s kind of a pipe dream.

Well, by then the cast would have to change. We just need a wealthy investor to get super excited about that cast NOW.

Whoa whoa whoa… I forgot something. If Felicia Day isn’t on that cast list, then you’ve already lost my interest. You all even met her! You gave her a copy of the game! She’s a contact already! She’s not a suggestion, she’s a REQUIREMENT.

Wow, this is getting way far into the future and the first expansion hasn’t even came out. Maybe we should stick to the awesome villians/heroes still to come?

Although an animated series would be wicked awesome, but wouldn’t there have to be more than one for each hero not in the Freedom Five? Or would be be more along the lines of few episodes focusing on a character doing their thing and after that conflict is resolved it would move onto someone else and keep rotating like that? Oh great, now I am doing trying to guess the future as well.

An animated series seems to be a bit of a stretch right now, seeing how small the game is right now. But you know what isn’t all that far-fetched? Getting someone who can do flash to make a…

SotM 2D flash fighting game. Oh yeah. I want that.

And now for something else a bit far-fetched: after that fighting game comes out, we write to NetherRealm Studios and make a proposition: Mortal Kombat vs. Sentinels of the Multiverse. Whatever DC can do, we can do better.

I don’t know that I want to see some ninja tearing Legacy’s heart out. I mean, for one, that’s canonically impossible as he’s got impenetrable skin.

And for another, the characters pretty much get nerfed to the point of being legitimate competition. Young Legacy has laserbeam eyes and could lift a train without breaking a sweat. I think the suspension of disbelief is just too much for me to enjoy that.

EV

I’m too desensitized from hours upon hours of Mortal Kombat to really care whose heart gets ripped out. Plus, I’d love to see the Sentinels do some fatalities of their own.

And most fighting games are like that though. You’ve got people who have incredible abilities that could destroy the other player in one hit IRL, but the other character being just fine after receiving the attack that just snapped their spine or both their eyes being blinded. That’s what makes a fighting game work. The only fighting game that really tried to keep an element of realism (a spear to the face being an instant kill, etc.) was the Deadliest Warrior game, and that just sucked.

Hahaha, they had a Deadliest Warrior game? I guess that’s the natural progression of the idea, so I’m not really surprised, but surely they could have found a studio with a better resume

Here’s my voice list for the Rook City expansion, though you’re not getting most of the characters yet.:stuck_out_tongue:

The Heroes
??? - Phil LaMarr
??? - Dana Delaney

The Villains
??? - Clancy Brown, accompanied by ??? - Juliet Landau
Plague Rat - Fred Tatasciore
??? - Mark Hamill
??? - Alyson Court

Mark Hamill? Is that a hint that one of the villians is a “Joker” like character? And if you have a Mark Hamill villian, it’s pretty much a requirement to have a Kevin Conroy hero, yes?

Mark Hamill is perfect. I was kinda thinking Paul Giamatti for Plague Rat though.

Hey… two voice actors in one villain slot? Looks like we’ve got a villain duo on our hands… And one of them is Juliet Landau? -boyish fantasies-

Wow, just looking up who these voice actors are is pretty awesome. Phil LaMarr? Samurai Jack? That’s a win right there.

Alright, I already said this in another thread, but since it’s here, I might as well say that Adam’s list of the Rook City expansion’s voice actors showed me two things.

  1. The newest spoiler artwork of the man in the mask with the syringes and long coat is, without a doubt, a villain. My friend and I subtracted the female slots listed above, subtracted Plague Rat, and the villain duo since the artwork would have had them both. That left two slots: one hero (Phil LaMarr) and one villain (Mark Hamill). Then we just went with the fact that although he could be an anti-hero, he just looks too evil.

  2. That villain duo above is going to be Tachyon’s nemeses. Adam’s got them listed as a man and a woman, and on Tachyon’s incapacitated side, you can see an ice man and a tornado woman silhouetted in the background. The odds are it’s them.

So, Adam, without dropping spoilers, does this sound like a pretty concrete assumption? Or am I just lacking enough evidence?

YES! Deduction skills all over the place right there! And I think I’ve got a feeling about what was right and what was wrong. I feel so special. Though this wasn’t really hard and didn’t take long to think of. I’m not nearly as good at finding spoiler as, say, Minecraft fans, who go all the way and break down the programming of an image just to see what something is called. But I’m still happy with myself, and that’s all that matters.

Now to start speculating about the Time & Space expansion. That IS happening, right Chris? You said it yourself to me in person. I’d hate to lose trust in your word… Time & Space = yes?

If you read his reply correctly, he said at least one thing you said in the response is incorrect. So, either the first one is incorrect, the second one is incorrect, or both are incorrect (as two satisfies the condition “at least one”). His big cheesy grin is saying that one thing you said might be correct, or nothing might be correct, thus embuing torture as to whether or not you’ve correctly speculated anything at all.

All I’ll give you is that Mark Hamill would be doing a very different voice than you’re thinking he would. And the villain pairing is going to be Dairy Queenᵀᴹ and Burger Kingᵀᴹ, both named for delicious restaurants who have definitely not paid us oodles of cash.

Did you hear that, Adam? That’s the sound of my poor, young, optimistic soul being crushed into a million pieces, then having the pieces set on fire. And then having that fire be set on fire too. I’m pretty sure that’s how science works. I’m going to go drown my sorrows in a carton of ice cream and watch a Desperate Housewives & Sex and the City marathon.

…Of course, this will all be in a very MANLY fashion, I can assure you…

I’m less interested in the medium and more in the story. Good plot, good characterization, and authentic to the designers intention? Get it out any way you can.
