The boards all changed, are the 3 "publishing arms" no longer separate, or is this just a forum change?

This was a result of a mod request to find someplace to put the Exoplanet posts instead of General Discussion.

Paul just explained it in another post. But there's an annoyance: A lot of old posts are showing up on the 'Active Forums' tab.

This thing!

Pydro should be careful what he asks for :D

@dpt

That is super annoying! It is probably because they were moved, which is obnoxious.

This reorganization us terrible for me. Instead of checking one “Active topic” category that had every thing I was interested in (Sentinel Comics) I now have to check seven active topic categories. I know I speak only for myself, but this pretty much guarantees I’m going to miss things I’m interested in and generally reduce my participation in the forum because of it. Turning one easy place for everything you want (all things related to topic X, in my case SotM) to seven topics that aren’t even listed together but spread throughout a long list of other topics is so counterintuitive I’m having trouble understanding the reasoning behind it.

I have to agree with this wholeheartedly. (it probably won't impact my actual posting much, but MAN is everything spread out a lot)

Additional note: why does the RPG get its own subcategory under "Games" when Tactics is folded under "Other Games"?

For people who only look at the forum page(like myself), it makes things easier to navigate to, I think.

I will say I didn't even know there was an alternate way to view the forum, and now the "New and Updated Topics" might be my bookmarked page.

Out of curiosity, since we're branding discussions under one board per game, is there a reason to keep SotM Game Engine? Game Engine still feels like a Rules board to me.

…I aim to cause problems, apparently!

It allows for discussions on things like Sentinels of Earth Prime.

Interesting. I've always used the 'New & updated topics' tab, but I can certainly see why this would be worse for you.

I supposed what would be good is the ability to configure a set of topics of interest and then just always see those. I'll ping the forum maintainter to see if such a thing would be easy to implement, but don't hold your breath.

I'd settle for just bringing back the "mark all forums read" option to more easily clear out the New and Updated Topics area after I've already read the stuff I'm interested in.

@Jeysie

Yeah I don't know what happened to that. I'll see if there is anything we can do, though I don't have high hopes.

Any update on this? I'd love to have a "Mark All Forums Read" tool on the main forums page, rather than just the individual ones on the bottom of each sub-forum page.

We are working on various website things over here at GTG HQ, but it might take a while to get all of the features we want for the forum.

Honestly, I'd just kill for a "Sentinels Games" sub-Forum under the Games Sub-forum.
