State of GTG - May 2017

Things are going very well here at GTG! We are making a ton of progress on many different goals, which feels great. I am sure that for many of you, judging our progress is tricky; from an external perspective, it is basically a binary "is this game released yet" question. However, internally, we are clearing things off of our "to do" list at a fantastic rate. Due to the vagaries of the production process, it now looks like we'll be delivering Spirit Island, Exoplanets, AND Lazer Ryderz all at around the same time in late June.

Here is a quick summary of things we accomplished here at GTG in the past month!

1. We announced a new opening for an Inventory Manager, accepted resumes, interviewed candidates, and hired Matt!
2. Mara attending the PHD Speed Gaming event in Dallas.
3. Trevor, our videographer, came to St. Louis for a week to take new product photos and start setting up for our upcoming live stream of the Sentinel Comics RPG! More details coming soon.
4. We set a Letters Page record of 27,486 downloads in April!
5. Mike Mullins and Darrell Louder, designers of Bottom of the 9th, were in town for a weekend demo of Bottom of the 9th at local awesome board game bar Pieces.
6. Tons of playtesting and tweaking of the OblivAeon scenario.

Thanks for the info Paul.  I'm moving into a new house next month so knowing when certain items are shipping is important. Also, no new hire is official until we have a dancing picture on the About Us page.  Speaking of which why isn't Darrell listed anymore on that page?

Matt will be on the About Us page soon enough! Darrell is not there any more because he isn't (and hasn't ever been) an employee of GTG. He's awesome and we like him a lot and is a contractor who does a ton of work for us, so we put him up there initially. However, we realized that 1) it was confusing/weird to have him there and not other contractors who do a ton of work for us (like Trevor), and 2) Darrell's "day job" is for Panda, a game manufacturing company, and some other publishers were confused, thinking that he was also a GTG employee or something.

From the newsletter announcement, it looks like you guys have a formal "demo team" setup for demoing at local conventions, preseumably by Citizens/volunteers. Is there a form or application process to be able to help out with that, or do you have a select few that are on the road for you? We don't have a ton of cons in the area, but there are a handful throughout the year that we could demo at the tabletop areas that they have.

So many good games in June. Hopefully a couple of these show up before Father's Day so I can convince my wife to purchase one for me

No confusion on my part – I wanted to make sure your answer was out there for when someone else read it incorrectly. 

Very excited to see that Prime War is on the list. I know it hasn't been forgotten, but just seeing it there makes me happy.

It definitely hasn't been forgotten! We think about it often and note it coming around on the guitar in terms of a main focus.

Along with a podcast. First Tuesdays of the month have quickly become my favorite Tuesdays.

I'm hoping for some good news with the new KS update, I really want a release date/to hear how soon the date will be.

Which Kickstarter are you most excited about?

I'm super excited for this summer in general: so much goodness on its way from Greater than Games.

Right now? I'm most interested in hearing about OblivAeon since that's been in my KS backlog the longest, and they aim to get it out so they can bring it to this year's Gen-Con, which is in mid-August.

So tomorrow I have updates on Oblivaeon, Lazer Ryderz, Letters Page, Weekly One Shot and Pokemon.

Looks like a busy day.

And they're just getting back from the UK, too. 

eh something to do on the plane. They have wifi on those things now.

We'll be getting the KS update for OblivAeon after Christopher has some time to recover from 30 hours of travel problems. He's said he'll post it on Thursday, hopefully with news on the final white version of the Collector's box(which should be arriving today in the mail).

Well whatever ones Christopher is responsible for making will just have to wait 1 or 2 days.
