Intreguingly, it appears that you can now stack tokens (Attack+1, Defense+1, etc), and they are now used as currency in certain circumstances (such as with Bunker's Omni-Cannon. Is this a new change, because the videos featured during the Kickstarter had players discard those tokens if they weren't used within one round.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of limitations to the capabilities we have.
We can't pull specific posts out of the thread - we can only pick a point in the thread and split it into two. Thus, once there's been posts back on the topic, we would be forced to pull that out with all the mess. :slightly_frowning_face:
We could go through and edit all the posts, but that would take a very long time (which I personally have not had since this blew up). It would be great if folks just didn't do it here, in a legitimate thread (glares around briefly), or were willing to go back and clean up there own mess, but if it's still there and I can get some time, I'll try to go through and clean them up. (Gen Con week, though, so that's not likely to happen soon... )

Sorry, just thinking about my misplaying of Melee attacks a little more...
What in the world makes any melee attack not automatically inferior to ranged attacks now? attacking at range still counts range as does melee, but melee you need to be adjacent. I had (incorrectly) thought that the equilizer between ranged and melee attacks was that melee didn't count range regardless of elevation. Someone help me see clearly here.
(Its funny, I looked up the thread where Christopher clarified this, and I posted in it, and I still didn't remember that rule after all this time. Man I have terrible memory. I'm sure I played it right in playtesting, so its probably not as bad as I remember)

That's kind of the point. Melee attacks are less effective than ranged attacks. That's why Boar's Rage is a poison, and why Proletariat, who only has melee attacks, is generally more awesome to compensate.
For the record, this isn't spoilers now, since people have their copy (including myself).

I've already got templates set up from playtesting and have plans to make a fully 3D Megalopolis eventually (I've already made one Megalopolis building and a Megalopolis cathedral). No idea how I'll do the FF Tower yet, though.
This depends on the game turning out to being something my group actually plays, of course. If Tactics turns out to be like GSF, I doubt I'll put in the effort (although, who knows? the 3D buildings are still fun papercraft projects in any case).

All true. The only question for me is whether my co-op-loving playgroup can be made to love fighting each other head-to-head. I'm hoping that as long as I agree to play the villian each time so they can play the heroes who oppose me, I should be OK. We'll see.
One other thing I haven't figured out about 3D landscape - how I'll handle the Monorail pieces. I should be able to figure out something.

Feel fortunate – when we first added elevation as a concept, you couldn't make a Melee attack unless you were at Range 1! It only took a couple of games of the Wraith standing on a single-hex building with Tachyon futiley lingering below before that got changed.
But yes, currently Melee is a pure downside keyword. Of course, melee attacks/characters can be stronger in other ways to compensate.

Got a couple of games in tonight against the misses. I of course won both of them. The first being Baron Blade and Proletariat versus Unity and Tachyon, second being Omnitron-V and Beacon versus Citizen Dawn and The Operative.
The first game was super easy, it was actually her first game. She insisted in keeping Turret Bot in play, which I easily avoided, as Baron Blade was the one who focused on Unity. While she foolishly sent Tachyon out to fight in close range against Proletariat. Let's say having Tachyon surrounded by 3 Proletariats didn't work to her advantage.
Second one was quite a bit closer, with both Omnitron-V and Beacon getting incapped once. This was actually a very close range match, everyone was pretty much in range of everyone the entire match.
