So I've seen several different answers on board game geek.  Seems like the sentinels tactics was actually being shipped and there was a possibility there would be copies for sale at GenCon as well.

Could anyone official say whether Gencon will be demo copies only or if it will also be for sale?

We know exactly as much as you do, at this point. Sorry.

Sentinel Tactics will be for sale at Gen Con. Kickstarter backers will have their rewards shipped before the show.

And not sleeping, which is what Christopher and I are about to do for the next 10 days! :D

I'm actually joking. If everything goes according to plan, we'll totally be able to sleep a bit on Tuesday in Indianapolis.

Well, there goes that plan…

Thanks so much for the reply Paul.  So of course the follow up question is:  Is there any way for me to pre-purchase a copy so its waiting for me there on thursday to avoid trying to kill other folks on my mad stampede to your booth?

If not, I am sending my two sons straight there when the doors open, and if they get stampeded you will have to feel really guilty LOL.

@ellindar

Unfortunately, we are unable to do pre-sales. However, if there does wind up being a line, we'll have some of our volunteers help make it civil, and enough place to put it since our booth is along the back edge of the hall!

@Paul

feel free to keep my stuff at gencon instead of paying shipping for it  :wink:

@Foote

Honestly, the only way we can get these out before Gen Con is to ship everything in order without pulling stuff aside for Gen Con, so unfortunately we won't be able to. The only reason I get a brief break from packing to type this is that I have to babysit my printer so that it does not drop packing lists all over my office floor and get them out of order :)

Pay attention to the time that Paul posted this peoples, it was gone midnight and he was still packing boxes/attending to his printer (if I've got my time zones right), and he still had to travel the vast distances back to his home from work!

Fortunately at least, reports of the vast distances between here and home have been greatly exaggerated :D

Well if you can’t hold it for us at GenCon, then I will not be attending!

Just kidding. Though I’m sad I won’t be able to have my copy there waiting for me, I’m pretty pumped.

@EvanDan

When are you leaving for Gen Con? There is a good chance your stuff will be delivered on Wednesday.

I know you guys are trying you're best to send it all out before Gencon but don't kill yourselves too much.

Sadly I updated my address through KS to be sent to Bowling Green, and I'm leaving from Louisville, so it'll go right past me. Assuming you guys have already processed it, it's on a course for BG instead of Louisville. It's fine, my friends and I can wait a few more days before we get it.

Paul, one two questions for you sir:

  1. Will there be any limited edition painted sets available at Gencon?  If so how many and how much $$$? :slight_smile:

  2. I just realized the game itself doesn't come with the miniatures.  Do the miniatures come in a all in one pack that can be purchased and what will the cost of that be?

Thanks for that, however, which of these will actually be at Gencon?

My guess would be that painted minis will not be at GenCon, since KS orders which include painted minis were going to be delayed for several months.

Yep.  The base games will have tokens, so if you want painted minis you can just pick up the games without the minis and grab the painted ones later.

It's not so much that painted miniatures are delayed, as it is that they are still on the original fulfillment timeline.

The first wave of Sentinel Tactics was originally scheduled to ship in December, the painted miniature wave in February or March of 2015, and the Maps & Minions wave in June or July 2015.  The first wave of Sentinel Tactics goodies are very ahead of schedule, a situation all but unheard of when dealing with Kickstarter rewards.

As far as we know, painted-minis wave is still on schedule.  I apologize for being overly nitpikcy about the language.

The painted miniatures will unfortunately not be available at Gen Con. The items we will have will be:

Sentinel Tactics: The Flame of Freedom

Sentinel Tactics: Uprising

Sentinel Miniatures: The Flame of Freedom (unpainted)

Sentinel Miniatures: Uprising (unpainted)

Any idea when these will be available at retail? I backed the kickstarter but need a copy of the core game.

We'll be there. (Seriously, we just got our schedule and there's going to be, like, 18 volunteers in addition to the >G folks! )

One of these days when I have travel and lodging plans, I too will be one of those super awesome volunteers. Someday! Or perhaps next Origins, if there is still room for me when my friends go up there next year.

Volunteering is a great time.  Nothing better than meeting tons of people who love the games and showing them cool stuff they don't have, or demoing the game for someone who had never heard of it and see them go up and buy everything right after.

By the looks of the map posted earlier, it seems GtG has twice the space they had last year. In fact, I think they've doubled their space each year. First they had a small corner booth, then they doubled the size and added more tables but it was in between other booths so was a bit cramped. Last year they had a space that would count as 4 booths and was on the end so more open space. This year it looks to be 8 booths worth of space and they have it all to themselves, nobody else connected to their area.

TY good sir!  His name is Seth keep a lookout :wink:  And don't sell out of any of those 4 items to VIG folks who get in an hour early!  GRRRRRR

:slight_smile:

PS - We are heading out tomorrow morning as we got an extra day with my hilton points so we'll be gaming early!

I'm guessing Legacy, Bunker, Absolute Zero, and Operative's ages need to be removed from the Sentinels Tactics site (since all of the other characters' ages are omitted).  I'm guessing Bunker isn't still 28 after experiencing "the best years of his life" with The Freedom Five.

The Uprising Box says $39.95 on it. I am assuming that's a misprint.
