Played my first game with Ra, Legacy and Wraith against Baron Blade in Insula Primalis. I won, but I wonder if I should admit just barely? The volcanic eruption came out late in the game, after Baron had already flipped. Fortunately I was able to give my two heroes (Legacy lost his HP and was flipped) fire damage immunity and the volcano finished Baron. I hope I did everything right. My wife and I will try the same setup sometime Sunday or Monday. I want to give her Ra, but she might want Wraith as the woman in the threesome. Running 3 heroes for first time was a bit challenging but it was a lot of fun.

You did it exactly right!
Ra loves the volcano.
That is actually a really good team for Primalis, since Ra can do fire immunity, Wraith has Mega Computers and Legacy has Danger Sense/Superhuman Durability.
Glad you had fun, and man, running three heroes for your first game, ouch.

Sounds like a good first game! Letting the volcano finish off the villain is always fun. I'd let her pick whoever she is most interested in thematically.

Congrats on your first game!
I find running solo games to be very difficult, as there is so much to keep track of.
Baron Blade being taken out by the volcano seems appropriate, since his plan was to destroy the Earth :D
If there's anything you're unsure about, feel free to bring it up!

Thanks for the encouragement and for not dogging me for barely winning and losing Legacy along the way. I did have a lot of fun. Already making plans to get the expansions.

Most people here have been beaten by Baron Blade at some point. Plus, it was your first game and you were running three characters, plus we're a pretty friendly bunch here :D

Hundreds of games down the line, I still get stomped by Blade occasionally. And welcome!

You almost lost to Baron Blade? LOL WHAT A SCRUB
We all have PERFECT winning streaks. In fact, most of us never even take damage! We're super pro.
</obvioussarcasm>
For real though, welcome aboard! Glad you liked it enough to stick around!

Yeah, that was a rough game. But it was pretty awesome! I enjoyed it.

When it boils down to it, Blade can go many directions. Win in 3 rounds! Lose badly! As long as you have fun, that's all that matters.

It may have been my very favorite game of Sentinels ever. Aside from the first game I ever played, it is certainly the one that sticks out the most in my mind.

I have never lost at sentinels. Because I have brains and charisma and everybody likes me and I have a pony. Any evidence to the contrary is only because my account gets hacked alot.
Also as a warning, this forum tends to be a rather silly place.

Don't worry about making rules errors while playing either. We've all done them. Just figure it all balances out in the end where one person's mistake making the game easier is balanced by someone, after making a similar mistake, gets their cape handed to them in another game.

Yeah, what Amnachaidh said. One time I played 2 Apocalypses like they were devestating auroras so i got 2 wipes, then later in the same game I killed the orb by redirecting Apostate's boosted shock rounds damage to it, allowing me to kill every single relic that round, then kill him the next. It all evens out

Hello !
As I said on BGG, as long as you have fun playing, who cares if you followed exactly the rules or missed something :) Some of my most memorable games were full of mistakes - I remember a glorious fight against Aposate (all heroes down but Nightmist with 1 HP) that I won in an awesome way... until I understood that I had erronously redirected damage and should have been defeated. You know what ? I still count it as a victory, it was too awesome.
Baron Blade may be "weak" compared to other villains, and easy to defeat when you played often, but I still lose against him from time to time. And I like to tell the story of my first few games of Sentinels, and how I lost the first 5 or 6 to a maniacally laughing Baron. Most of the time with the Baron near full health.

This really does sound like a funn community and I appreciate the comments and support. I hope some of you are going to be at GenCon so I can meet more players. I will be going mostly for this game and the resurrection of my all-time favorite CCG reintroduced in LCG-like form, Doomtown.

Me, I was playing with two friends, we were fighting Omnitron in Rook City. They were using AZ and Haka while I was using Mister Fixer. Omnitron takes them out but it was such a heated battle that we had him down to 2 hp and I had 1 hp. I was deflecting damage left and right to hurt Omnitron but we knew we were on the last environmental turn and I had to do something to survive the onslaught on the Villain's turn which we knew was going to stop me.
Tony Taurus comes out and does his thing, I let the damage hit me and redirect in onto Omnitron. The other two blink for a second and then we cheer when we realize that we just beat Omnitron when it took us 5 times before to beat him. I figured Tony appeared behind Mister Fixer, told him to duck and fired with Fixer ducking and kicking the bullet to send it to the great big glob of skynet. Game Over, Players Win.

Yay, the old Pipe Wrench/Mantis combo :D. Omnitron can be a right bugger to defeat. Last time we beat him he still had an EPE out after he himself went down...but I had Wrest the Mind, so all was well :).
