Greetings awesome people!
Now that PAX East is over, we are looking for volunteers for Gen Con and PAX Prime! We are offering the same deal we have in the past:
What you do:Volunteer to teach games in our booth for half of the expo hall hours. Shifts run from 10-2 and from 2-6, so that means 4 shifts at Gen Con and PAX Prime.
What we do: Get you a free Exhibitor badge, 2 free t-shirts, and an invitation to the GTG Volunteer Dinner the evening before the show (Wednesday for Gen Con, Thursday for PAX).
If you are interested, send an email to me (paul@greaterthangames.com). We have a limited number of slots, so let me know as soon as you are certain you can make it!
Thanks!

Shouldn’t that be four shifts at Prime as well? They’re four-daying it again this year.

If we have messaged you about volunteering when will we know if we are working, and if we are when will we know the details?

Based on what I got yesterday, they’re letting people know they’re in -crazy- fast (less than three hours between sending my message and getting a response), and full details will come closer to the con in question (PAX info coming in august, for example)

If I haven't emailed you back within 1 business day, it might have gotten lost in the email ether and you should email me again :)

I have and you said you'd put me on the list. I didnt know if the list was a list to later be filtered or if it was a guarentee that i'd be working

Oh! Yeah, sorry for the confusion :) The list is the "list of people who will definitely be working / getting a badge from me unless they back out later" :)

Just sent you email Paul! Hope it's not too late to get in. Had a blast last year helping out the crew at GenCon.

Is there going to be some way that those of us who're working a given con are able to contact/introduce ourselves to each other ahead of time? Besides the pre-con dinner meetup, I mean.

What are you envisioning? There's nothing stopping you from, say, starting a thread about it.

Nooo, we must reclaim it as a proper word and thus eventually erase all previous connotations associated with it!

I did this with a couple people on the forums before PAX just by starting a thread.

The meet-up dinner before Gen Con will be Wednesday evening, and I would be thrilled if people want to hang around there or in one of the nearby hotels (or the convention center) to play games or get to know one another after the dinner concludes.

Except for my desire to claim this thread for that purpose rather than starting a new thread.

Last year, the Indianapolis meetup hosted everyone the Tuesday before at Arsenal, but that no longer exists. Maybe we can get something scheduled at another nearby gaming place if people coming in early would like to join us.

I can't make any promises for the nights when the con is in full swing, but count me in as a definate for Wednesday night gaming. That would be the most opportune time to do it.

Since I'm in college we would probably look for somewhere on the cheaper end of the spectrum

Well, plenty of places around here for relatively cheap. Kilroy's and Dick's Last Resort are two good options in the downtown area, depending on where you are staying.

Now that PAX Prime tix are sold out, if you still want to go, I know a guy! (that guy is me)
All I ask is some of your time during the show to play SotM and GSF with people :)

Hey Paul,
I sent you an email about 2 volunteers for PAX Prime.
Are you still looking for people for that event?
