Oh boy, rough start we're off to here.  I discard External Combustion.  I'll voluntarily take the Jinx since my opening hand isn't set up for much damage-dealing; I'll focus on being The Tank for this match since Haka, Legs and Scholar aren't around.  (Considering he literally is a tank, Bunker doesn't get to play the role very often, so this will be a nice change of pace from his usual More Dakka for me.)

Bunker

HP: 25

Hand:  Auxiliary Power Source, Decommissioned Hardware, Omni-Cannon.

In Play:

Trash:  External Combustion

--------------------------------------------------------

Start of Turn:

Play a Card: Auxiliary Power Source.

Use a Power:  Auxiliary Power Source.  Draw Maintenance Unit, Ammo Drop, Gatling Gun.

Draw a Card:  Recharge Mode.

End of Turn:

HP: 25

Hand:  Decommissioned Hardware, Omni-Cannon, Maintenance Unit, Ammo Drop, Gatling Gun, Recharge Mode.

In Play:

Trash: External Combustion, Auxiliary Power Source.

Effects: Target of Scattered Mind jinx - whenever Bunker deals damage, their player must discard 1 card.  Tempest, CR, you're the Lancers.

True, but Velociraptor Packs will pretty much always attack the Talisman, and T-Rex will hit either me or Chrono-Ranger at the moment.  You're only really defending yourself against Primordial Plant Life, although that one is admittedly quite dangerous to you, since you have very few Ongoings.

At that point it is a gamble more on where you are more likely to cross the 5 damage threshold.

In this game Imminent Destruction is a threat (projectile) Primordial, and T-Rex can one shot components if Omni goes temporal and becomes highest HP hero by avoiding all the little damages.

The psychic damage is only likely to cross 5 damage if things get really bad or on Kismet's flip side if Talisman is mismanaged.

Nope, it only dies if each hero trashed the top 3 cards of their deck.  I much prefer this solution.  Also, technically, Bio Engineering Beam can be used without an Environment target in play since the damage is not conditional on an environment target being destroyed

I propose that Chrono-Ranger gets the Talisman, both because he gets first shot (heheh) at using it, and because he gets extra power usages out of The Ultimate Target, while still able to deal damage with card plays.  It might eventually be wise to give it to Bunker so he can shrug off the damage she deals when she doesn't have it, but that damage targets any highest-HP hero rather than necessarily the one who has the Talisman, and Bunker for one is almost unquestionably never going to have a spare Power to use the Talisman on any decks, while CR could potentially use it on two or more decks each round.  (Is there any way to make Kismet deal damage on hero turns?)

DP

Kismet deals damage to a hero with Weak Heart. On Two Left Feet, the hero damages themself; that would be a good one to give Mr. Fixer, in case Jack Handle comes out.

It's worth thinking about the interaction of the Talisman with the powers of Dark Visionary and Omnitron-X. The Talisman is weak deck-stacking, but I could follow it up with discarding key cards. And Omnitron-X can Timeshift into play a key card.

Yeah, the Talisman can do some interesting stuff.  It's a pity that Kizzy is so violent about losing it.  I think she's the one hero where I would prefer playing on Normal rather than Advanced,  not because the latter is too hard (though it certainly is, particularly with H=5) or unnecessarily prolonged (Dawn), but simply because there's more fun to be had when she's not trying as hard to kill you.  This contrasts nicely with our last episode, where Spite got to be so invincible that there was no point even trying to hurt him, so we were forced into a new "give him what he wants" playstyle.  That was really neat.

Agreed. It doesn't make sense to put Karmic Disjunction on top, as it would just bring out the Glass Jaws anyway. This way, we have two relatively safe turns, even if we flip her back (as Karmic DIsjunction is not a lucky card).

EN

Very much correct, as the Disjunction would put the Glass Jaws into play anyhow.  Since Kizzy will be flipping to the side where she wallops a single high-HP hero at a time, the Glass Jaws ought to be assigned to characters who have low HP; hopefully Ongoing destruction will become available by the time those players are in danger of getting hit.  (Of course, right now all HPs are either 17 or 19, so if the first Glass Jaw went on a 19, that would still give two turns until that player would get smacked by the Deviant Miscreant's megablast.)

The Glass Jaw unfortunately goes to a hero with highest HP, so we don't have the choice.

It just occurred to me that the way to deal with the Talisman would be: let her flip this turn; then, during the course of the next round, take it down to 5 or 6 HP so that Kismet flips it herself at the start of her following turn. That way her mega-blast is not very mega.

Ideally, we want to flip her back on round 4, so that she'll play the second Glass Jaw and then discard Karmic Disjunction since it's not Lucky.  As violent as advanced Kismet is, we really don't want her having like 4 Jinxes go into play at once and boost her damage with the Talisman.

Scattered Mind isn't especially bothering me at the moment; it's just making me not want to use my Omni-Cannon or Gatling Gun.

As far as I can tell, Kismet's damage calculations right now are 2 (talisman at 7 HP) + 3 (H-2 advanced bonus) + 1 (obsidian field) - 1 (twisted aether)...what am I missing that the end result is 4 rather than 5?

Whatever the damage is, I'd be willing to take the hit in my capacity as party tank, but Omnitronx is probably a better choice at the moment because of his Plating (and lack of components - he doesn't want to take the hit later after gaining some). CR should definitely take the Glass Jaw, since he's the only one without damage reduction, and thus the one we want to be getting hit least often.  (He could even shoot himself a little, to avoid something else shooting him a lot.)

That's it, I'm takin' a nap.

I do believe that one of your early Episodes had a villain, and then later you had the same villain again and tagged the thread "[Advanced]" that time, so I always sort of assumed the first one had been regular.  Or maybe they were in the other order…I'll have to research this.

EDIT - I was right the second time, and actually it was Kismet that was duplicated (as well as Cosmic Omnitron and I think one other…you might want to give your randomizer a good shake next time).  Episode 2 was "Advanced Kismet", and Episode 8 was just "Kismet", so I assumed that meant you had downgraded her after the first bout.

I'd be happy to discard one of the Omni-Cannons for CR's benefit.  But are you sure you want him to shoot the Talisman?  This will flip Kizzy back to her first side, letting her hit every hero with a Jinx for 2 damage, +1 for the obsidian field and +1 for every Jinx in play.  I think we got rid of some Jinxes this round, but still, the alternative is that if the Talisman is at 2 HP, Kizzy will "kill" it herself, and then her blast will hit only one hero, albeit for a lot.  If there's even one Jinx still in play, I think it might work out in our favor to just shoot Kizzy for 2 more instead.  (Actually it would be 3 because of the Ultimate Target.)  I might be miscalculating here, so no worries if you want to stick with your plan, I'm just making sure you've considered the alternative.

The Jinxes were all destroyed this turn (albiet, one will come into play). If we don't flip her, she's going to hit one person for 12ish. I would much rather have the damage distributed. Also, we know her card flip at the end of her turn won't be Lucky.

This is wrong; if you leave the Talisman alive (not flipping her), she will hit the Talisman at the start of her turn, flipping it. Then by the end of her turn it will have 7HP, and she will hit the highest HP hero for (9-7) + 3 (advanced) + 1 (Obsidian Fields) - 1 (TtE), for a total of 5.
However, it’s also true the Jinxes are currently all gone, and so her damage on the other side is not so fierce.

How would it be that much?  Let's see, she'd start the turn, take back the talisman, and play the only Jinx, then at end of turn the Talisman would have 7 HP, so she'd deal 2 damage, +3 for advanced, +1 for the talisman's jinx bonus, +1 for Obsidian Field, -1 for Twist the Ether, for a total of 6.

Also, we know her card flip at the end of her turn won't be Lucky.

Ah, good point, I had forgotten that this was my own idea.

As far as I can tell, Kismet's damage calculations right now are 2 (talisman at 7 HP) + 3 (H-2 advanced bonus) + 1 (obsidian field) - 1 (twisted aether)…what am I missing that the end result is 4 rather than 5?

Whatever the damage is, I'd be willing to take the hit in my capacity as party tank, but Omnitronx is probably a better choice at the moment because of his Plating (and lack of components - he doesn't want to take the hit later after gaining some). CR should definitely take the Glass Jaw, since he's the only one without damage reduction, and thus the one we want to be getting hit least often.  (He could even shoot himself a little, to avoid something else shooting him a lot.)

I had in fact forgotten the third card; the Omni-Cannon thing was just a typo, not accounting for it in both my hands.  Fixed now, and since my set was actually in the room this time, I drew my cards and edited them in.  Will be switching modes next turn; since I'm unjinxed, if we badly need me to blast something, I could do External Combustion, although I would rather wait and try to get Heavy Plating first, and meanwhile put down Ammo Drop.

Technically I think it should have been Karmic Disjunction which was revealed and shuffled back into Kismet's deck, since we'd seen it with the Talisman.  Not that it matters much.  For the sake of propriety, I made the decision of whether Bunker sacks Recharge Mode to Primordial Plant Life before scrolling down to look at the villain turn, but it turns out it didn't really matter.  The choice is either "lose RM and take 3 damage from PPL, then 1 from Kismet" or "keep RM, take 5 damage reduced to 4 from PPL, then take 1 damage reduced to 0 from Kismet, then destroy RM at start of turn".  I originally chose the former, but since they're equivalent, I'll do the latter since it feels more proactive to me.

Chrono-Ranger got to use a power on Kismet’s turn, via The Ultimate Bounty. That triggered when she dealt psychic damage to everyone and, I’m assuming, was denoted by the “shi-blammo”. C-R would have been able to deal at least 8 damage, via Compounded Bow, the two Bounties and Obsidian Fields.

Edit–ninja-ed! And I’d love to jump in on the next round if there’s an opening.
