It's not often that I'm on here anymore, but I have an important question. Or maybe this is a survey.
Does anyone going to Gen Con 2013 have adivce as to where my friend and I (both volunteers) can get a decent hotel/motel space for a reasonable price for the con? What's the most common place you guys stay? Prices?

There is a hostel in Broad Ripple. It's five miles from the con, so you will be commuting in and out every day. If you do that, I recommend parking in the mall garage. At least in past years, if you left late enough (after midnight? 1am?), they stopped manning the booths and you could just drive out w/out paying.

If you don't mind a short drive, the hotels in Greenwood near I-65 are a great deal and you can still be at the convention center in 15 minutes.

For those who are coming to Gen Con, I'm planning to put a sticker on my badge with "Rabit on >G forum" so folks can connect me to my forum name. I should have extra stickers at the >G booth, if anyone doesn't have access to some and is interested in doing the same thing. (I'm only there half-time, this year, as we have friends in town for the Con.)

The last three years, I've gotten a hotel just outside the traffic circle and commuted in each day.
It's saved me a ton of cash!

The friend I was going to split the cost with can't go now and I find myself with the sudden burden of paying for everything myself, which to be honest sucks. So I can't afford a hotel/motel and would like to know if anyone would like to let me crash on their floor. I can pay a small fee, of course, to help assuage the cost of the room.
Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
