Tachyon

HP: 27

Hand:  Hypersonic Assualt, Pushing the Limits, Quick Insight, and Fleet of Foot.

In Play: None.

Trash: Empty.

Notes: My turn seems fairly easy, it's mainly a matter of what to play first, Fleet of Foot or Pushing the Limits!

Golem Unity

HP: 25

Hand: Platform Bot, Raptor Bot, Robot Reclamation, Construction Pylon

Seems pretty simple, get the Pylon out to get 2 first turn bots

The Scholar

HP: 29

Hand:  Mortal Form to Energy x 2, Solid to Liquid, Get Out of the Way.

In Play: None.

Trash: Empty.

My thoughts: Depending on whether I take damage or not in the first turn, I'll play Mortal2Energy, Better Living->deal damage.

Side thoughts: Is this considered a bad draw? 3 Elementals in the opening hand and 2 duplicated.

The Tomb of Anubis is shuffled and waiting =)

Here's a google doc to help keep track of things:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hVnt_fE9qxx92KyJvY_hy3yMrWj_RnuyBK5dCwYGnI0/edit?usp=sharing

I can invite the people playing the decks as editors if that makes sense? Then you don't need to rely on me to make changes. PM me your email and I can invite you to edit.

ketigid. It's not that bad to have more elementals, but I would advise you to take some time to rest. Drawing more cards= more options for you, and more time for your elements!

How much time do you think we have? On advanced BB will be discarding 3 cards a turn, which means we have at most 5 turns. Assuming of course that we don't destroy any card and he doesn't draw a one-shot (of which he has 10). With are heroes, what is the best chance of doing 50 damage (assuming not another MDP) in that time?

just a quick post before I go to work! Haka draws restoration, battle, mere and ground pound. I am tempted to use battle to get as much damage out early as we need to get things moving, but a lot depends on what gets played beforehand. If it's needed to kill off the platform then I'll do it, otherwise I would play Mere for the extra card draw over a couple of turns before throwing it out there. ground pound is useful if the environment mistreats us so I'd keep that in the pocket for now!

You've got two slow-build heroes (Tachyon, Unity), a support hero (Scholar), and one damage dealer (Haka). Since you're playing Baron Blade on advanced, you are in a race.

So, I recommend Haka focuses on doing as much damage as possible, even if that limits his longer-term capabilities because of missed opportunities for extra card draws. If you can get to BB's flip, this game will become relatively easy, but you've got to get there.

The Scholar may need to prepare for tanking lots of damage. Your only way to win may be to leave BB's targets on the field so that the trash doesn't fill, in which case Scholar's ability to direct damage to himself and negate it will become essential.

Tachyon may need to resort to relatively early uses of the Lightspeed Barage. It's likely to be more important to do a couple of 5-point shots and push BB to his other side than to save them for the massive later shots.

Unity has a fantastic start. I don't remember how much BB or the Tomb have in terms of hitting the lowest, but getting Platform and Raptor out early to start doing damage to Blade is fantastic.

I want to say the Tomb is fairly hostile to lowest, but I haven't been there in a while. Blade has Slash & Burn plus the gun turrets that hit everyone. Could be a bad day for Mr. Chomps.

I agree with arenson here. I think you all can actually afford to be faster here, as the Scholar can tank pretty well on BB's other side. The tomb might be problematic, as the spike trap can hit the lowest, but other than that, things are good!

Knock 'em out!

Well, Unity is doing 6 damage per turn off the bat (if she can keep her bots alive), and with the HoB I can wind it up to do at least 18 damage with Mere over the next four turns, getting us 42 damage from just two heroes and even more with extra card draws provided by the rest of the team. I'm pretty sure the other heroes will have some options so this is totally do-able.

Tachyon is a no-brainer with fleet of foot and ptl out first to get some more options into our hands and to get her card burn on. I would also advise the Scholar to concentrate on drawing as many cards as possible - cards like Grace Under Fire, Turn Loose, Proverbs, Don't Dismiss Anything could be game winners here but it won't help if they are still in his deck. Dig for victory - dig for cards! Worst case he will take a few hits then lay down some healing combos that will properly charge his elemental form to do a bigger hit of damage, which may be all we need to get the flip.

Overall I recommend we take a totally cavalier attitude to our HP and think about healing options after the flip. If that means F6 Unity indulging in a bit of self harm to get a bot out then go for it. Our biggest risk is a lack of deck control, we just have to roll with whatever BB throws at us and hope we don't get stomped by the card draw.

indeed, we do not have a lot of immediate options for dealing with ongoings. If we haven't dealt with it before the end of next turn this will not really be feasible. It is encouraging to see a force field and mdp in the trash though, but there I go being eternally optimistic. We await Omnitronks opening hand with baited breath, it could well prove pivotal. Start of Hero Turn: nothing

Play a Card: Construction Pylon

Use a Power: Construction Pylon, destroyed to bring Raptor Bot and Platform Bot into play

Draw a Card: Raptor Bot

End of Hero Turn: Raptor Bot and Platform Bot each do 3 damage to the Defense Platform, taking it down to 2 HP

-----------------

HP: 25

Hand:  Robot Reclamation, Raptor Bot, Brainstorm (from Fleet of Foot), Supply Crate (from Fleet of Foot)

In Play: Raptor Bot, Platform Bot

Trash: Construction Pylon

Thoughts:

Edited to add cards from Fleet of Foot.  I'll play Supply Crate to get out the next Raptor Bot, as we need lots of damage to BB fast

Haka

HP: 34

Opening Hand:  Restoration, Battle, Mere, Ground Pound

In Play: -empty-

Trash: -empty-

-----------------

Play a Card: Time for the 'Maraca of Doom'!

Use a Power: Haka clubs the platform into oblivion with Mere and draws... another Mere

Draw a Card: Taiaha

-----------------

Current Hand:  Restoration, Battle, Mere, Ground Pound, Taiaha

In Play: Mere

Trash: -empty-

-----------------

Thoughts: Taiaha gives some good damage options so I'm inclined to put it into play next turn. If there are no particularly threatening targets out I would be more likely to concentrate on using Mere on BB as I'd prefer to draw more cards in hand until I see a Rampage or an Elbow Smash. My overall strategy would remain the same at this point - keep clubbing things and drawing cards then unleashing HOB when the time is ripe.

Tachyon

HP: 27

Hand:  Hypersonic Assualt, Pushing the Limits, Quick Insight, and Fleet of Foot.

In Play: None.

Trash: Empty.

-----------------

Play Card(s): Pushing the Limits! Then Fleet of Foot (Everyone can draw a card) Tachyon gets another Fleet of Foot, so playing Fleet of Foot (everyone can draw a card) Drew a second Hypersonic Assualt. Next up Quick Insight, drawings Research Grant, Suck Punch, and Accelerated Assualt. Discarding Sucker Punch and Accelerated Assualt.

Use a Power: Looking at the top card of my deck... Sucker punch, I discard that.

Draw Card(s): Drawing 2 cards Synatpic Interupption and HUD Goggles.

-----------------

HP: 27

Start: Nothing

Hand:  5 cards - Hypersonic Assualt (x2), Research Grant, HUD Goggles.

In Play: 1 Card - Pushing the Limits

Trash: 6 cards, 6 burst - Suckerpunch (x2), Accelerated Assualt, Quick Insight, Fleet of Foot (x2)

End: Nothing

-----------------

Notes: I think next turn Tachyon would be playing HUD Goggles, Research Grant, Synaptic Interuption. I'll probably save the Hypersonic Assualts until he flips, thus we we know for a fact that he'll be dealing damage rather than do it and have him not dealing any damage anyways. Then i'll be using Research Grant and try to get a Lightspeed Barrage to help get him flipped faster.

I thkn it is safe to say we have at least 2 full turns left. If Unity puts are Mr. Chomps the sequel, she should hit for 11 damage (right?) each of those turns for 22. Platform Bot can take the Shamise hit the first turn to keep all her bots out. 38 - 22 = 16. So we need to do 16 damage total in 2 rounds between everyone else. Tachy doesn't have anything in her hand (put will draw a couple of cards). Haka can hit for 3x2 (or 2x2 and draw a few cards). The Scholar doesn't have anything right now that can help. If OX does Rocket Punch twice (3x2 = 6), Gaussian twice (1x2=2), and Haka does Taiaha twice (3x2=6), then we have 6+2+6 = 14 damage more. 16 - 14 = 2 more damage from somewhere. Scholar has "Get out of the way" for 1 more. SOmeone please double check my math, but if I am right, we need to draw 1 more point of damage.

EDIT: Does anybody know how many Living Force Fields BB has (don't want to look through the deck)?

Not to forget Haka Of Battle or Ground Pound.

I can Ground Pound to keep damage away from the bots for another round so Unity can focus on getting the second Raptor out and dealing maximum damage to BB. Next turn I can HoB for 6 additional damage (taking into account the discard for Ground Pound and card draws) on top of Mere for 2 damage per turn. If I pull out a rampage or elbow smash, then all the better.

So Unity can safely deal 22 damage over two turns and Haka attacks for 10, taking us to 32 between us. With the single rocket punch and Gaussian Coil blaster we have the flip.

I wouldn't worry about the mummy at all until next round at the earliest.

edit: I was counting the card draw for using Mere after unleashing the HoB so was 1 point too optimistic there, plus I forgot about the coil balster.

a quick one before I head off for the day - ground pound goes, Haka of Battle with a three card discard, Mere to take BB to 0 HP. I'll work out the cards etc. when I get home, but I will defo keep the other Battle in hand and probably Taiaha.

HakaHP: 34

Opening Hand:  Restoration, Battle, Taiaha, Ta Moko, Vitality Surge, Battle

In Play: Mere, Ground Pound

Trash: Mere, Punish the Weak

-----------------

Play a Card: HoB, drawing Elbow Smash and yet another HoB. Discards Restoration, Battle, and Ta Moko for +3 damage

Use a Power: Mere on BB and draws Punish the Weak. Backlash field deals Haka 3 damage.

Draw a Card: Enduring Intercession

HakaHP: 31

Current Hand: Taiaha, Vitality Surge, Battle, Elbow Smash, Punish the Weak, Enduring Intercession

In Play: Mere

Trash: Mere, Punish the Weak, Ground Pound, Battle, Restoration, Battle, Ta Moko

-----------------

Thoughts: Enduring Intercession gives us another option to keep Unity's bots alive a little longer but I doubt we'll need it. I'll keep winding up the next Haka of Battle which is currently at a maximum of +7 damage; with all our damage dealing options in place and unity's bots (mostly) shielded from damage this should all be over within two more turns and we can very possibly finish him off next turn. I vote for maximum carnage on BB.

That would kill off the Bee Bot which would then go for either the backlash field or one of the environment cards - I'd vote for nixing the Challenge of Fire as we can handle the damage from Shamise and the Backlash Field for one more round. Challenge of Fire would be a big problem for Unity unless we can dump a load of cards - Tachyon might be happy to help there but Haka needs to keep cards in hand as much as possible. I guess we need to decide on how we are going to remove the Challenge of Fire, as if we can keep all of Unity's bots alive until her turn then I really think we will win this in the next round (barring BB drawing nanites!) We do have the possibility here of taking out both Shamise and the Challenge to keep the environment nice and quiet, and the Scholar does have an option to stop BB doing damage so I am keen to hear what Ketigid would like to do this round as it might guide how the rest of this plays out.

While the Backlash Field is annoying, I was thinking best to take out Challenge of Fire with BeeBot.  Tachy can Burst of Speed the Backlash Field on her turn if we need to get rid of it.  Alternately, If we can keep Bee Bot in play one more round, I can Flash Forge the last Raptor Bot which would deal 17 damage to BB at the end of my turn.

You've got to consider that as long as Backlash Field is in play though, every bot that deals damage to Blade will be dealt damage, killing most of them, thus weaking the next Raptor bots attack. Sadly there isn't a way for Tachy to get a damage boost or else I would be able to Hypersonic Blade for you.

Ronway - Shamise was already at 5 HP, it's now at 4 HP.

ketigid - Alchemical Redirection is in play, not in your trash.

Start of the Environment Turn - Decision Time!

We need to decide if we want to get rid of The Challenge of Fire now, and if so who is going to discard what. Each player may discard up to 3 cards, and we need to discard 7 in total to destroy it. It will deal Scholar a hojillion damage otherwise.

Omnitron-X can easily discard 2 or 3 cards (Self Sabotage, Reset, and maybe something else) and still get rid of Backlash Field (via Disruptive Flechettes). So we need 4 or 5 more if we want to do that.

Since PMs don't send a instant pop-up saying you've got one, that may not really do much of anything.

Edit: Also we could have the Googlge doc sheet editable for everyone, so that way more than one person can go on there and change the things they did on their turn aswell. Copying and pasting the end result of the peoples post on there may be helpful, so that way everyone can visibly see what everyone has in hand as well rather than trying to dig up their last post.

One point I would add is about knowing the cards. For me, I don't remember all the cards very well, so when I'm away from my cards, I won't know exactly what happened. For instance, I can't remember how much damage Hasten Doom deals.

Any suggestions for people who don't remember the cards or don't have the cards with them at the moment?

The google doc was editable by anyone who sent me a PM with their email address, as I requested. I only got PMs from two people.

I don't know the cards by name at all really. But it's not like the game has to move quickly, so it's no problem to wait until you have the cards at hand.

I think the PM works well as a "next turn nudge" since it sends an email.

I have mine disabled so it doesn't send e-mails, nor do I even check my e-mail too often. In fact I check the forums more often than my e-mail. So it may be just me, but i'm more likely to see the topic updated rather than an pm.

Guess I overlooked the sending PM part of it, though it is possible to make it globally editable for all, and the creator can undo things back to a previous state so if anyone goes on and screws around with it there wouldn't be much of an issue with that. As collecting e-mails from different people would become a little troublesome.

MI

The topic is updated when you take your turn, since you're posting in it. Sending the PM is a courtesy, and certainly useful for most people I think.

Getting email addresses from 4 or 5 other people is not really a problem, if they bother to send them =). Having a globally editable doc could be a lot more hassle - is everyone going to check the revision history before making an edit to see if it was messed with? But it could be worth a try.
