Sentinels of the Multiverse Release Party Ideas

So, I am very excited that soon we will be welcoming some new Heroes and facing new villians in new locals…

So I had the idea to throw a party to celebrate. Here are my ideas, would love to here what other ideas people may have to mark this momentous occasions!

Environment themed tables where people play through a set up scenario with a little story to set it up, and lower stakes akin to a demo game (less HP for Villain) for a quicker game (30 minutes) and people meeting all the characters as they rotate through the tables.

Custom invitations with a costume element thrown in with perhaps some sentinels related door prize, or some variation on the Sentinels Points idea from Gen Con with different prizes…

Love to hear other’s ideas or how they are marking the great occasion!

I especially like using the environments for table themes (Atlantis, Wagner Mars Base, and Insula Primalis lend themselves really well to this idea since under the sea, space, and dinosaur decorations are readily available, Tomb of Anubis would probably be the next easiest to decorate for… Rook City and Realm of Discord could be lots of fun or super frustrating though).

Depending on your friends, you could get a group to cosplay specific characters (and then bring your costumes to GenCon’s contest too!) and/or you could just ask people to come as a hero of their own devising.

I’m trying to think of SotM food ideas… you could make Smoke Bomb drinks (with dry ice), or make deviled eggs with a little creative use of red/orange food die to make Citizens of the Sun deviled eggs (die the egg white in the striped red and orange of their logo), … themed food ideas are hard though…

Citizen Flan, Ex-Pie-Treat, Mister Mixer (Drink). That’s all I have off hand.

Absolut Zero (Absolut vodka with something minty for that cool, refreshing snark?)
Grappling Hook (some sort of grape-apple mixture with a kick)
Snack Cannon (PROFIT!!!)

If I weren’t getting married and going on my honeymoon right around the time this would be coming out, I would totally do these.

I am liking the clever dessert and drink ideas. I was thinking perhaps some of the table themes will be edible as well, a chocolate cup cake volcano, perhaps brownie chunks as obsidian fields. My wife had some fun ideas for edible meteor showers for the Wagner mars base, not to mention mars bars or milky way (I am sure Voss would love to get his hands on those)

I know it’s a game that requires a reasonable amount of concentration, but for those for whom it’d be legal - how about a Sentinels drinking game? Two fingers every time you’re forced to destroy equipment? Finish your drink when Baron Blade / Citizen Dawn flips? (Probably best not to do that with Omnitron, ;D)

I would be… hesitant to try a Sentinels drinking game. Drinks + game table is terrifying enough. Add compulsory alcohol, spills are almost guaranteed, makes for a very tense evening and a very uptight host.

Perhaps this will give you something to do with your core game after you get Enhanced Edition.

My fiancee went nuts with this idea. Here are the ideas we had that had some merit.

Haka’s Vitality Surge - Kiwi Jello Shots
Bunker’s Baked Battery - Baked Potatoes, wrapped in foil, with a spread of options for “Upgrading”
Tempest - Sushi! (I noted that he may not appreciate that, because it might talk to him. She didn’t care.)
Ra’s Fireballs - Strawberries covered in sour cream and brown sugar. (I didn’t know it was a thing, but it’s apparently very good.)
Fanatic’s Angel Food Cake
Absolute Zero’s Thermal Shockwave: Baked Alaska or Bananas Flambe, or any flaming dessert.

These other ideas aren’t as fleshed out.

Tachyon - Fast food. (Ha, ha.) Some sort of appetizer. Sliders or pizza rolls might be good.
Legacy - Something All-American is as far as she got. Apple pie is a strong contender.
Wraith - Something rich. Maybe involves chocolate.
Expatriette - She seems like a steak girl.
Mister Fixer - Dumplings.
Nightmist - Fried Calamari?
Unity - Gingerbread cookies.

No ideas yet Argent Adept or Visionary.

We won’t be having these at the wedding. But we are beginning to give very strong consideration to a themed party sometime after.

Thanks for the thoughts, Mid-September would probably be enough time to plan and get a good crowd together, who knows I might hold it on the old wedding anniversary weekend Seems a fitting celebration of a dynamic duo!
