I was aiming a bit towards that vibe, but didn't want to directly reference a pyramid or "the Face on Mars".  Not sure how I can/could get robotic mummys running around either.

(Edit: And for me "Dr Who" is pretty much 7th Doctor and before.  I think I've only seen 3-4 episodes of any Dr Who since the 7th.)

I watch the new stuff, but mostly it just reminds me of a time when Dr. Who developed characters and had plot resolutions better than "And then my Sonic Screwdriver solved everything!"

The Sonic Screwdriver did its share of solving things in a lot of old Who episodes as well.  Maybe not the final resolution of the who episode arc, but as a way out of numerous traps or seemingly unpassable obstacles.

Setback will wait for a shot of three damage to use his tokens, probably on the villain turn, or if desired I can build up as many as possible on my turn, keep the three and go for one more round since Naturalist is eating this round.

I can have 8 tokens after my next turn.

Unless we can down one of them or there's a *big* hit incoming, you might as well save up the tokens.

I'll probably be spending as much time in possible in Rhino form and tanking for you guys....maybe Crocodile form if I run out of Rhino cards.

Environment Turn - Wagner Mars Base

In Play: Oxygen Leak

Start: Oxygen Leak inflicts zero toxic damage to each target.  (Must be a small hole!)

Play:  Maintenance Level

End: (OPTION: A player may discard 1 card to destroy Oxygen Leak)

Maintenance Level (A) plays Maintenance Level (B)

Maintenance Level (B) plays Pervasive Red Dust

Destroy 5 equipment cards (Horn, Absolution, Amulet, go boom)

Lots of panels suddenly pop open displaying delicate machinery and lots of blinking lights, primarily red.  Piles of annoying dust pour out as well.

In Play: Oxygen Leak, Maintenance Level (A), Maintenance Level (B), Pervasive Red Dust

Effects:

- Reduce all Fire damage by 3 (Oxygen Leak)

- At the end of the environment turn 1 player may discard 1 card to destroy Oxygen Leak.

- At the start of the environment turn deal each target X damage, where X = the number of cards in the environment trash. (Oxygen Leak)

- At the end of the environment turn, play the next environment card (Maintenance Level)

Note: I would hold that heroes shuffling their trash into their decks would destroy *both* Maintenance Level cards.

- At the start of the environment turn if each player shuffles their trash into their hero deck, destroy Maintenance Level (Maintenance Level)

- When this card is destroyed, if "Self-Destruct Sequence" is in play put this card on top of the countdown pile. (Maintenance Level)

- At the end of the environment turn destroy 5 equipment cards (Pervasive Red Dust)

- At the start of the environment turn if each player discards 1 card destroy Pervasive Red Dust.  When this card is destroyed each player may put 1 equipment card from their trash into play. (Pervasive Red Dust)

I think the approximate actions upcoming are:'

1. Shuffle trash into deck twice to get rid of maintenance level cards

2. Discard card to get rid of Pervasive Red Dust - if card is equipment it can then be put into play

3. Isis will cause additional discards early in the next villain turn.

So, putting cards on top of deck right now won't do much.

Before Setbacks turn please make sure to list what card you discarded and what equipment (if any) you put into play for Pervasive Dust.  PlatinumWarlock and I have listed ours.   Also remember to discard five cards from top of deck.

Lastly, ouch I gained all that health just to get back to what I started at my last turn.

I will delay next Environment and Villain turn posting until Fanatic play is finished up and we know what other Ennead got pounded on.

I was expecting Scouring Mists from Nightmist to guarantee Set going down this turn.  But Mistbound is going to shut down their damage capability for the most part even though they will get some healing by default.

We can certainly take out Set early on next round, and then we just grind down the last two

Set's power "puts a card into play" rather than playing it.  So, yeah...they get that one off, not that it does much.

For the record, The Naturalist has the following items set up for when my flip rolls around:

Feral Fury does net 3 melee and net 3 toxic to whomever is our priority target (currently Geb, as he's low hp.  If he's not alive, then Tefnut).

If I'm granted a power usage (most likely through Setback's Turn of Events), I deal 3 melee to priority target.

If I'm granted a card play, I play Feral Fury (as listed above).

Sorry!  Gotta get the game room cleaned up for our New Year's Eve party!

Play Feral Fury:  net 3 melee and 3 toxic to Tefnut.

Sorry, I skip a power use otherwise I won't get to play Enlightenment from top of deck.

When Nightmist's card play comes up it will be this:

Enlightenment(1) is revealed. Nightmist gains one HP [21].  Top card is Oblivion(4). Nightmist is dealt four infernal [17].  Fanatic can draw four cards.

Fanatic should have plenty of cards at this point.

So it looks like:

Nightmist does not use her power, then gives Fanatic 4 cards.

Adept heals us all 1 and we can put a soon to be discarded card on top.

Need Wagner Mars base play, but at this point we have Tefnut at 9 HP as the last of the Ennead.

What needs to be worked out is:

a.  If Fanatic got a card draw from Argent Adept - she drew Prayer of Desperation.

b.  Therefore, her card play was the next card in her deck - what was that?

I'll proceed with the environment deck plays and put them in, but above needs to be worked out before everyone starts discarding and moving cards around due to the other Ennead incap powers.  Which will be:

  1. Discard 5 cards

  2. Top card of deck to bottom of deck

Tefnut will have 13 HP (barring modification from Fanatic's play) going into the hero turns.

Environment Deck has 5 cards in play and one card in trash.

(And that was one of the more complex villain turns I've seen in a while.)

I unfortunately dont have my cards on me so wont be able to look, but for simplicity sake I can just forego the card draw from AA and use Prayer of Desperation for my card play from Set's incap

So this is pretty much it.

Setback will play "Whoops, Sorry," destroying Absolution and Pervasive Red Dust.  Each Hero may put an equip from their trash into play. (sucks to be a vengeance hero) +3 unlucky.

Power:  Surprising Fortune:  -2 unlucky, Setback regains 2hp [16] and Fanatic draws 2 cards, because we want her to have all the cards.

Draw:  Card that won't get played.

I could simplify by just healing 2 instead of giving Fanatic that card draw.

I'll go with that since that's a simple course.

A defiant Tefnut faces Fanatic with half her deck drawn and on hand...  ;)

Odds are pretty good that I have a Smite in hand, but I cant say for sure for another couple of hours

If you used the last Vernal Sonata to grab Wrathful Retribution, you would draw it from Nightmist's Enlightenment. This won't be much of a match.

Ah yes, there is that

So I will play Wrathful Retribution for the 4th time , discard 3 cards and deal 23 Radiant damage to Tefnut (x)

I find it appropriate that this was a Wrathful game considering we are awating Wrath

I also liked this game as a bit of a showcase for Argent Adept usage.  Sympathy got used a lot in the early rounds, but then converted into full-bore standard muse mode once a few instruments were out.

Also kudos to Naturalist for going croc!

These are the games I like to point to when some people who I play SotM with complain about Sacrosanct Martyr being a useless card that no one would ever use

You used it very well, and that was the best I've seen Redeemer Fanatic played.  Mostly people I have seen play her get obsessed with finding certain cards and end up being of little use to the team.

I also enjoyed Setback much more than I have before.  Maybe the time of between turns, or maybe getting turn of events so much, but I actually enjoyed him even as I look back at things I could have done better.

It was a really good game.   Though I don't think I could play Argent Adept in a forum game a lot to keep track of on those turns.

Thanks, Fanatic is one of my top 3 heroes to play and I love her promo.  I find that the promo power is great utility but you shouldn't be wedded to it until you find Absolution.  SM is a great damage dealer in its own right

Same here, I'm just really vocal about loving her original card.  I will have to try out Redeemer some more now, but I can't promise I'll like it.
