Handelabra Games Live Streaming SotM: The Video Game (every Tuesday @ 7 Eastern)

We've done several live streams of Sentinels of the Multiverse over on our Twitch channel, and it's going to be a weekly thing for the foreseeable future. The stream includes strategy discussions to help viewers learn more about how to play SotM, and we also chat a bit about new things!

You can access all of the archived streams on YouTube & Twitch via our Streams page.

We stream every Tuesday at 7 pm Eastern time. Follow us on Twitch to get notified. We might reveal some interesting tidbits, and you'll be sure to learn a thing or two. We do try to keep an eye on the chat room to take your strategy thoughts and questions into account.

In the future we would like to bring on more special guests, whether from regular viewers, the forums, or elsewhere. Watch the streams and participate and you may get to be on the show one week!

I know that I will be there (in the chatroom) this week, and I hope to see Ronway there also, encouraging you TO DEATH!!!! (what with you playing Absolute Zero this week and all)

Teasing us with promos like that is not very nice.

I would have chosen Rook City Wraith over Young Legacy, but YL is a major player so it makes sense, I just love Visionary-Wraith.  Mostly because TtE+Combat Stance+Micro is amazing.

The lack of any Environment Destruction on Mars could be a problem, but With AZ and YL it shouldn't stop the Voss beat down.

Well, it's all over bar the damning of Ronway, it was a fun fight and the Handelabra guys got to show off soem coll AZ tricks, let's hope the video replay is up soon for the peopel who weren't able to attend.

Mind clarifying Christopher’s ruling on Forced Deployment? What order do they come into play?

It's the order in the trash from top to bottom. i.e. put them into play starting at the top of the trash until there are no more. The rest of the trash maintains its relative ordering.

I have updated the OP with links to last night's stream, it's in 3 parts because it went a bit long. Unfortunately in the last part I'm quite hard to hear, and we had some technical difficulties that we'll aim to remedy for next week!

Invest in a loud hailer, that would solve the problem.

Advanced Voss versus Legacy, The Visionary, and Absolute Zero in Megalopolis!

That's the hardest? Huh.

No, i'm not even sure what would be the hardest. I mainly just didn't want to do Advanced Dawn again.

According to the stats project, I'd suggest Bunker, Tempest, and Fanatic against Advanced Voss in Megalopolis.

I'm quite surprised to see Tempest in that list, as I'd think Tempest's base AoE would be extremely useful, but the stats claim that Tempest only has a 9% win rate against Advanced Voss in a 3-hero game.

Advanced Voss reduces hero damage by 1. That's really quite devastating to Tempest if you get an unlucky draw.

I found something funny afterwards though. I was playing AZ with Legs tempest and a couple others. I played shielding winds and then forgot about it. Later i was trying to heal and i was healing 2 less than i should have, so i tried to put in a bug report from the feedback button. Then i realized i wasn’t on the Internet on my tablet, after i sent it of course. And then i realized the shielding winds was reducing the healing, and vowed to play shielding winds even less.

After that i found some thing that is a problem but not a bug. Absolute Zero’s trash reads “Absolute Zero’s tras
H”
I guess the label reached it line limit so it had to go to the next line, but it was funny to realize what happened, especially after feeling dumb for a bit about the game and the Internet.

Null-Point doesn't show the damage calculation properly when it cancels the damage, that's an outstanding issue we're looking into.

That is a bug, and has been tricky to pin down. It shows up in other places too. We'll sort it out one of these days.

Yeah I wasn’t able to figure out the Null point thing til I played Frost bound drain and took less damage than i thought I should.

Last night we played Ambuscade and whipped him good.

Y'Know, I was watching the VOD of this and wondering why Vengeance was seperated into the Season 2 pass since we hadn't had any other content announced, and then the pre order announcement this morning happened.  Makes total sense now

We had another good stream last night, thanks to Matchstickman for helping out as our special guest! Since Jeremy (our twitch wizard) is at PAX South we don't have the highlight or YouTube links yet, but those will be updated soon.

Matchstickman played a blinder, and Ronway was not mentioned for the entire stream. It was awesome!

It was awesomely British. And Canadian.

Advanced Baron Blade in Silver Gulch.

Fanatic, Tachyon, Bunker, and Wraith (though maybe not that order)

It was a bit close getting past the front side. Baron Blade got 15 cards in the trash, but was knocked to zero before it got back to his start of turn. He had 26 hit points and 13 (I think) cards in the trash at one point.

As expected, only the front side was much of a challenge. The question on the back side was more about how quickly Baron Blade would get knock out and who would get the final blow.

And Sheriff Pratt almost got the kill.

That was quite a game last night. We got pretty deep into figuring out a Forced Deployment problem, succeeded, and then another Forced Deployment came out!

It was a good try, But I am excited I hope apple doesn't Drag thier feet so you can take all our money :)

But the highlight for me was Ronways Toxic 2 shower

We took out Advanced Ambuscade, though he battered the heroes a bunch at the beginning.

Someone in the chat posted a difficult matchup against Advanced Cosmic Omnitron. Anyone know what that was exactly, maybe we'll try it next week!

I tried the game a few times that was suggested and failed!

Advanced Cosmic Omnitron versus GI Bunker, Absolute Zero, and RC The Wraith in Ruins of Atlantis.

Advanced Cosmitron is difficult regardless of the team. 

That was me!  Ronway tried valiantly, but neither of us have succeeded yet.

I have to say, you're setting yourselves up for a world of frustation if you take this on in the Stream, but that's your prerogative.  

I won the GI Bunker/AZ/RC Wraith.

It was great draws by the heroes and consistent luck having a non-drone to put on top with Eyepiece.

Bunker got going super fast, rocked Gatling-armor-Recharge for a while, then went Upgrade to turret with Gatling/armor/Omni/Ammo Drop/Flak.

Wraith was clearing his deck, alternating with razor+2 when I could get away without a second Eyepiece.

AZ started off great with 2 frost drains and Transducer, which was big for clearing the components at start, Ended up getting ridiculously built up due to Wraith burying destruction cards and drones.

It was a perfect storm of starting hands, some card luck after that and really great deck order on Omnitron's side.  All were around half health when Omni was finished off.

Twice we got lucky with Ruins playing villain cards, two krakens were great allies for us. RC wraith put one in play first round (II for belt and Eye) second one was on top as well, which was great considering the first round EPE.  Krakens took it from 11hp to 1.  Was very nice of them.

Again, it was about as perfect a match as I've seen.

Wow.  That really is some amazing luck!  Even regular cosmitron is a pain against these three (and, of course, GI Bunker's base power is wasted in this mode), but advanced…  I take off my imaginary hat to you.  :)

Tonight's stream contianed lots of Pants!

There were speed pants and difficult challenge pants and Self-Destruct Pants, it was Pant-tastic!

Cosmic Omnitron took us to town. But I put the smack down on Baron Blade pretty quick =)

We returned to the win column with a match against Advanced Baron Blade last night. He came close to completing his plan, but the heroes stopped him just in time!

Next week we're hoping to have some sneak peeks at Rook City content, so be sure to tune in.

I can't say I've ever been able to come back from a Sweat+Tears+Blinding Blast before. Good thing we planned for it with the Visionary!

Yeah, I'm only a lot against DST…

I'd like to see someplace just alter their timezone to be a permanent DST.  If the numbers justify the DST and the biggest problem is the switch, shouldn't making the hours naturally 1 later be a better solution?

Personally I don't care, I just hate the jet lag effect of losing an hour.

I don't mind daylight savings time.  I like it when it's still light at 9pm.

love the new features. Would love to see an option to randomize various things like heroes only. Also I know everyone says it so multiplayer.

Quick question though. Are you guys planning to break vengance up like have the heroes and environments come out earlier since those can be played in the regular game mode or everything from vengance will be in the vengance expansion and we will have to play with those heroes outside of chronological order.

I actually really like DST. It's standard time that I hate. And the switching that it involves.

Epic Game You have to watch the 2nd part of the game Vs Voss. Really shows off Nightmist and a come behind Victory. Tachon Hangs in there for 4 rounds with 1 hp. And they show off Multiplayer, Yes Multiplayer!!!! Watch part one and part two and you will be happy. 

Who are they playing against tonight

The stream was last night, we played against Citizen Dawn (with a preview of Tomb of Anubis) and Advanced Grand Warlord Voss (with a preview of NightMist). We played on a pre-alpha multiplayer build, too =) it's up on Twitch now as a highlight and should be on YouTube today!

Glad Multiplayer is coming together nicely! Can't wait to join some folks in some hero... err... villain bashing.

I absolutely cannot wait for Infernal Relics.  Nightmist remains my favorite hero to this day and it was great seeing her in action.  You definitely showed how deadly she can become once you're in a groove.

Also glad to see a Multiplayer preview!  

That was quite a trouncing of The Matriarch last night. With Take Down + Self-Destruct Sequence we could have played forever.

I can't wait to see the ennard. Hopefully we will have them facing ra in tomb of anibus (since tomb has already been shown off once would be great to see again). Huge Egypt battles are always fun :)

After a crazy Gen Con couple of weeks, we will be back on Tuesday August 11th for our regularly scheduled program. Jeremy will be out of town but I will make something fun happen!

Did anyone watch the multiplayer demo streaming we had going from Gen Con? Any thoughts or comments?

I watched part of the demo streams. They were awesome! I loved watching people who were seemingly new to the game doing funny things. Like the individual who kept using Bot-Hack to destroy a Contruction Pylon to get a bot into play, instead of using the power on Construction Pylon to get two into play.

Like healing with AZ.

We definitely had a mix of new players and veterans at different times. We'd help the new players along for their first couple of turns and then let them go along with their group as they wished =)

Next time we might try to do some voice-over announcer stuff during the demo, for the stream + local crowd.

Yeah it was too bad they couldn't see the chat for the "suggestions" being given.    It certainly seemed like you had a lot of people new to the game playing based on what I saw when I popped in occasionally.  Hopefully they all enjoyed it.  

I cannot mock new people for healing with AZ. I did that once upon a time aswell. I did eventually see the flame, oh how pretty that flame is!

I heal AZ only so he can hit the villains harder.

i heal with AZ when I am unable to attack yet and want to keep him up and ready to go when he can attack.

After a couple of weeks off for PAX, we should be back this Tuesday at our regular time!

Hi This is a small complaint about the live stream tonight 3/15/16. It was done on another channel and then the chat was in a location that did not look like twitch. My issue however is this was not advertised anywhere. Can we come up with a system to make sure everyone knows how to get to the proper place for the live stream?

The main election coverage starts at 7 pm Eastern as the first polls close, and we don't want to be up against that. I would hope that our stream being an hour early wouldn't prevent anyone from voting, that would be silly!

Idea: Greater than Games has two new employees in Rae and Mara. Handelabra Games should invite them to come on one night and play a game so the community can get to know them a bit better.

Before we drown in puns, I mostly am dying to hear more music, both Vengeance and maybe a sneak preview of another hero theme if any more have had time to be created. I forget, was there a preview listening party for Vengeance on the schedule? I will try to be there with bells on, if so.
