(to discuss this swap, go here: https://greaterthangames.com/forum/topic/sentinels-craft-swap-discussion-5309. This thread is for signups only!)
Edit: Sign ups are over! Now we're getting craft-y!
Greetings, fellow Craftinels!
This is the first ever Sentinels Craft Swap. The idea of this swap is to make something Sentinels themed for another forumite and then to swap them. Once a partner receives the item, he or she posts a picture of it here on this thread so we can all admire it!
Rules (well, technically, it's more like guidelines...):
Signups are from the 25th of May - 1st of June, and partnering will be done on the 2nd of June or thereabouts. You should have sent off your crafted item to your partner by July 1st.
The item that you craft must be Sentinels themed in some way.
You may not send anything that is not legally shippable or that is illegal in the country of origin or destination. Also, please check postage to other countries before agreeing to send to a partner abroad. You don't want to be surprised by crazy shipping fees.
The time you should put into creating your item should be somewhere between two days and a week. If you item takes considerably less time to create, you may also make a set of items to comply with this rule.
Note to Playtesters: Obviously, we are not crafting and swapping anything that uses playtesting material. That'd be wrong.
If you are up for this swap, fill out this questionnaire and post it below or message it to me, if you prefer. Feel free to adjust the spelling to American English for your post. ;)

Surprisingly, I'm in!
Favourite Hero: All of them! Seriously, don't make me choose!
Favourite Villain: Citizen Dawn, with Blade and Omnitron fighting for second place
Favorite Environment: Insula Primalis, Silver Gulch, Realms of Discord
What kinds of crafts can you do: All of them! No, but I can sew, knit, crochet, paint, embroider and cross stitch, customise toys, woodwork, metalwork, make jewelry etc. Won't be able to make anything that involves a furnace, kiln or excessive use of power tools- I'm low on workshop time in June, sorry!
What sort of item would you like to receive: No idea. Somebody pleasantly surprise me!
Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive: Ideally, nothing that decays. Also, I have an intolerance towards sheep's wool. Not really allergic, I just don't tolerate it.
Would you be prepared to post to different country/continent: Yep, although I will proably make something something small or light if I ship outside Europe.
Country of Residence: Germany

Favourite Hero: The Sentinels
Favourite Villain: La Capitan (this is entirely unrelated to the fact that The Sentinels are my favourite hero(es), and I only just noticed the correlation... huh.)
Favourite Environment: I don't have one.
Favourite Card: Positive Energy ("POSITIVELY STABBY!"), Caspit's Playground
What kinds of crafts can you do: I'll be offering a light, quick Sentinels war game based off the Pocket Battles series of games. I'm happy to offer something else, but my crafting skillset is rather limited.
What sort of item would you like to receive: Anything, really.
Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive (Allergies etc.): Nope!
Would you be prepared to post to a different country/continent: Yes, but Europe is preferable.
Your Country of Residence: England.

Favourite Hero: Absolute Zero.
Favourite Villain: Mad Bomber Blade (he's so happy with his death ray!).
Favourite Environment: The Realm of Disco(rd)
Favourite Card: Off The Rails
What kinds of crafts can you do: Sewing, painting, jewellery, drawing.
What sort of item would you like to receive: Something cute?
Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive (Allergies etc.): Shipping edible things or things based on plants or animals to here is a nightmare. They most likely won't get through customs (Things like clothing will get through, and anything that's sealed). If anything were to be made of metal, I am allergic to nickel. As long as it doesn't touch my skin it would be ok though (so not in a necklace chain or earring post, but a pin or whatever is fine)
Would you be prepared to post to a different country/continent: Kind of required. Yes.
Your Country of Residence: Australia
Anything else: Because of exams, anything I post will be a little late. It will however, be sent by the end of July at the latest.

Favorite Hero: Tempest, followed by Tachyon, followed by Legacy, followed by Nightmist (who doesn't like options, right?)
Favorite Villain: Gloomweaver, The Ennead, Kismet
Favorite Environment: Time Cataclysm, Tomb of Anubis
Favorite Card: Ghostly Images. The mechanics are a really impressive metaphor for heroes being either inspired to do a quick action or being frozen in fear from seeing spectral images of the heroes of yesteryear. The art and the quote do nothing but perfectly compliment exactly what they were going for with this card.
What kinds of crafts can you do: Perler bead creations. I have patterns for every revealed Nemesis symbol (except for Sky-Scraper), and have dabbled in modifying pixel art for Legacy and Mister Fixer. I could probably figure out a way to modify other sprites for other Sentinels, but that is much more difficult than Nemesis symbols. I'd either be willing to craft multiple Nemesis symbols or a unique sprite supplemented by Nemesis symbols. I'll have a better idea of what to give when I know who I have and what they would like!
What sort of item would you like to receive: Whatever speaks to the artist.
Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive (Allergies etc.): Plants, food, animals, etc. I doubt anyone would send an Insula Primalis plant or an amphibious chupicabra through the mail, but you can never be too careful! Also, something that isn't made with love.
Would you be prepared to post to a different country/continent: Yes.
Your Country of Residence: United States
Anything else: I'm relatively new in this Perler bead craft, but I'll do my best to create something unique and fun that will be appreciated. The sooner I have someone to craft for the sooner I can figure out my design and order the beads necessary for it. I've mainly worked on simple shapes or 8-16 bit sprites modified to Sentinels-themed creations, so I doubt I'd be able to craft a full on scene of a hero in an environment. I posted multiple options for Hero/Villain/Environment because I'd rather someone create something they're excited about that overlaps with my interests rather than forcing someone to create something related to a character or place that doesn't excite them. Any (or all, should you be so motivated) would be appreciated.

Favourite Hero: Absolute Zero, Expatriette, Omnitron X, Setback, Tempest, Unity (making decisions isn’t my strong point) Favourite Villain: Ambuscade, Baron Blade, Proletariat Favourite Environment: Insula Primalis, Realm of Discord, Ruins of Atlantis Favourite Card: There’s no way I would be able to choose just one… Or even a shortlist. What kinds of crafts can you do: A little bit of most things here and there; sculpting, drawing, painting, sewing, jewellery… If not sending somewhere difficult for it then baking/cake decoration and the like is my forte, but I have plenty of options other than that. What sort of item would you like to receive: Whatever the sender most wants to make Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive (Allergies etc.): Nope, it’s all good Would you be prepared to post to a different country/continent: Yes Your Country of Residence: England Anything else: Yaay, excitement!
Or other than that, I listed multiple options, they’re just listed alphabetically so don’t think my favoured one is first, any of the options is fine.

Favourite Hero: Fanatic or Unity
Favourite Villain: Baron Blade or Omnitron
Favourite Environment: Megalopolis
Favourite Card: Raptor Bot
What kinds of crafts can you do: Like Reckless, I could probably do some Perler bead stuff (but smaller). Maybe coasters of characters' faces/simplified icons? Good for keeping track of which cup is yours on games night. :) Maybe a Sculpey figure or accessory? Maybe a laser engraved picture? Maybe a keychain or a button or something off of Artscow? (The last two aren't really handcrafted by me, so I don't know if they count...) Maybe a Sentinels accessory to help you keep track of something or other (HP, +/- Damage Dealt, +/- Damage Taken counter customized to your favourite characters?)? Maybe a Sentinels-based game (Fate-based RPG)?
What sort of item would you like to receive: Crochet dolls like Silverleaf's would be fantastic! Alternatively, something smallish and durable that I could throw in my bag and carry around.
Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive (Allergies etc.): Food? Anything breakable or fragile?
Would you be prepared to post to a different country/continent: Sure
Your Country of Residence: Canada
Anything else: I think this is a fantastic idea. :) Big thanks to Julia for thinking of and organizing it!

Okay, I'll bite too! I have to warn you guys though, I have fibromyalgia and my flare-ups are unpredictable, so theres a small possibility that I might not make the deadline. It's unlikely, but it might happen, and I promise I'll get it out as soon as I can if I'm delayed. Assuming that's okay...?
Favourite Hero: I like them all, but Tachyon and Unity are probably my favourites.
Favourite Villain: Tricky. Possibly The Matriarch, Akash and Omnitron.
Favourite Environment: Insula Primalis, because dinosaurs.
Favourite Card: I'll get back to you on that. So many good ones.
What kinds of crafts can you do: Well apart from the obvious crocheted dolls, I make jewellery and other resin/polymer clay pieces (I made myself a resin pendant of Unity's nemesis symbol), I craft print and play boardgames, I can embroider and cross-stitch and my papercrafting isn't too bad.
What sort of item would you like to receive: If you're happy with it, I'm happy with it. I know you guys will all make cool things!
Is there anything that you do NOT want to receive (Allergies etc.): No caffeine or lanolin (so no wool) please! I'm not allergic, but I don't get on well with those things. Anything perishable's probably also a bad idea since I'm in the UK and it'll likely take a while to get here.
Would you be prepared to post to a different country/continent: Why not?
Your Country of Residence: UK.

If there are no complaints concerning these pairings, I suggest all partners go ahead and PM each other their shipping addresses and any unsanswered questions that you might have. Also, I suggest that everybody does a 'are you alive'-check, before sending out their item, so that their partner knows that they have mail from abroad coming. Once you get your item, show it off in this thread!
Otherwise, happy crafting everybody!

Yeah, sorry I ended up not signing up after I expressed interest, but the next couple of months are going to be a bit of a mess for me, so I wouldn't be able to make anything cool for anyone.
Who knows though? If this thing takes up maybe I'll jump in the next one. Secret Santa-inels!!

My parcel just arrived today and all I can say is WOW! Fanatic looks incredible! And she even came ready to fight evil, complete with her sword (Absolution). The picture doesn't do it justice though...the detail on everything is incredible. Absolution even has the correct runes on it!
I'm totally blown away by this...check it out! It even came with a bunch of packs of cute little German gummy candies.
To Julia's mom, I'm going to try to send out your stuff tomorrow. :) I wanted to add a few more things, but was waiting for some supplies which just arrived on Friday.

Hmm...that's weird...
I could see it yesterday, but it was huge and wouldn't resize. It's disappeared now. She must be off fighting Apostate...
That is phenomenal. An amazing piece of bespoke art that will be a conversation piece for a long time. I'm so jealous of people who've taken the time to level those skills.

So there I was, minding my own business, when suddenly...

BAM! Villain attack!

La Capitan had assembled her fearsome (if slightly blurry; my camera is a bit rubbish) crew...

But fear not! The Sentinels were on hand to save the day!

So yes, my craft swap gift arrived, and is rather amazing :D

Oh, awesome, it arrived and didn't break! Yeah, taking pictures of meeple is a total pain. I took about 100 before sending it off, and only about 10 came out non-blurry. I attached some of them here.
Really glad you like it, BlueHairedMeerkat, I was almost worried there for the moment that I had made something supremely silly (well, the wrong kind of silly, anyway).
I particularly like the Sentinels Meeples. Very awesome.

I have stuff!!!
My swap item from BlueHairedMeerkat arrived! He sent me a Sentinels themed hack of the 2 player game Pocket Battles, which is a pocket-sized skirmish game. In this version, I got a hero deck (including most of the heroes we know so far, plus some of Unity's bots!) and a villain deck (consisting of Dawn, Blade and Omnitron + a shedload of Citizens and minions).
It's full colour and I can really tell that BlueHairedMeerkat put a hell of a lot of time into this. The cards alone with their skill icons and the rulebook using the card pic in the set up and stuff-WOW!
Obviosuly, nobody's been around to play all day, so all I could do so far was to read the rules, muck around with teambuilding and trying to beat myself up, but I took some pictures to show what it looks like from the heroes side of things.
Anyway, thanks a ton to BlueHairedMeerkat for this really cool game. It's so cool, I'll put some shades on it and take it on holiday!

My mum also has stuff!
Ghost's parcel arrived here this morning all the way from Canada. He made the entire Freedom Five in Perler Beads- both their heads and their icons. Seriously, check them out!
My mum was absoutely delighted, and especially loved Absolute Zero because of that cool light reflex and Bunker, because he's not only awesome but also her favourite hero. She's still debating whether to make them into magnets or whether to frame them or something. Also in the parcel was a pile of canadian change that my mum requested as crafting supplies, and now she has plenty of animal and ship coins to turn into stuff- seriously though, how cool are canadian coins (especially when compared to our super lame euros)?
Anyway, my mum was really happy about her parcel, and now thinks that maybe Ghost got the short end of the stick in this swap because, as she said, 'Making those faces must have taken forever!'

Wow! My package arrived today and I am stunned by how awesome it is. Under3 crafted these amazing little Sentinels figures (they remind me of Little Big Planet, but made of string). They are simultaneously awe-inspiring and adorable. Epic but sweet. Small but larger than life. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...Little Big Sentinels!
(I mentioned my first game was with Tempest/Fanatic/Bunker at Nielzabub's with his older brother RapScallion against Baron Blade in Megalopolis, and boy did he deliver!)
Yay excellent! I’m glad they arrived ok and you like them.

I have received a wonderful selection of perler items! :D
There's the most adorable looking Omnitron-X alongside Ambuscade's head, the pairing of Mr Chomps and Absolute Zero, or to go together I like to think of as Cryo Bot, and finally the pairing of Expatriette and Setback's nemesis symbols along with them combined into a stylised heart image.
Altogether pretty awesome, I can't wait to do this again. :)
