Something a little different for this event. The goal here is to have GtG mail an SotM card around the world, by stopping at as many fans as possible. if you would be interested in being one of the stops, reply below with the city you are in. Once we get a lot of people, we can start working on the logistics.
I'm in Indianapolis, IN, USA. I'd love to be a part of this.

What card should we send?

I'm thinking an Oversized card, so it'll show up better in pictures. Though, that might make mailing a bit more annoying. Also, there should be a sheet of paper with it that everyone who gets the card writes their name on, that way there's a record of the travels.

If we went ahead and did a 'Villain World Domination Tour' and just sent around one of the Villain Oversized Cards, that could work. I mean, I don't know about you all, but ever since I bought the updated and improved Oversized Villain Card Set, I still have have the original ones in a box here and they aren't doing anything.
And I just checked: Baron Blade totally fits in a normal sized envelope. With room for a sheet of paper and maybe even a little passport of sorts.

It could be cool to send the villain around the world, and whoever gets it, plays a game against it, records the outcome, and then sends it on to the next location.

So here is what we have so far, unless someone has a different idea:
-We will send a villain oversized card, and a piece of paper.
-When you get the villain, play against him and record the result, also sign the paper.
-You can take pictures with the card, but you do not have to.
Here are some things that still need to be worked out:
-What villain to send? I am assuming everyone here has everything, if not, say so.
-Are we starting, ending, or both at GtG?
-Which direction are we going in?
-The route the villain is taking. Can anyone make a map and draw out the path as we go?
So, now is the time to solidy these ideas, so we can start the process. Hooray!
If you want to join in, now is the time!

Anyone with more knowledge of georaphy than me want to start putting the people in order? We can decide on the direction later.
If there is a location with two people, I guess let them decide the order. I don't think we need to go down to the street level for this.
Everyone agree with Ronway's suggestions for the villain?
Any chance GtG made SotM stamps without telling us?
Anything else we need to consider? Right now we have 20 people. We can leave it open until we start, but let's see if we can get this going.

Given that it's mail, is there any requirement that two people in the same city have to be in sequential order? Unless they want to make some agreement to meet somewhere and sign the card at the same time I guess.
Could also try to put the cities in some order that potentially gets the letter to do more laps around the globe.

My biggest problems with Fright Train is he is part of the Vengeance Five. I would have to play a V5 game solo to play against him. Which I don't really want to do.
While the problem with La Capitan is she's an expansion villain, meaning only those of use with Shattered Timelines will be able to partake, outing any other players that would like to join, but cannot because of the lack of own a La Capitan deck.

I'm a little late to the party here, but why not Baron Blade? He's definitely the "flagship" villain in Sentinel Comics, he's the most accessible for all players (Regular, Advanced, or V5, to taste), and he's megolomaniacal enough to travel the world in conquest.

Side Note: We need some fan made solo conversions of the V5 villains, there are some on BGG, but they involve new cards added or changed current cards, with individual cards for sale it should be possible to convert them by adding 5 additional cards already in the deck. Maybe I need to work on this.

Of course we could add a table into the spreadsheet, where the partakers can indicate which of the expansions they have available, and leave it to >G to select the villain based on that.
Furthermore, since the villain will be travelling the world, he/she will be passing through different environments anyway, so thematically it would fit if the players select the environment.

First, everyone look at the list and make sure your placement makes sense. For those of you in the same city, dicuss who will go first. Also, there might be a few names missing.
Next, we need to decide on the villain. Christopher suggested Mad Bomber Blade of Cosmic Omnitron. If you have the base set, you can still play, but it is a little more interesting and difficult than the normal versions.

Assuming direct great-circle flights for intercontinental distances and surface travel (calculated with Google maps) for all other destinations, our villain will travel 28 116 mi (45 248 km) . The actual distance will of course be farther with real-world postal services.
Looking at that order, it'd be really funny if I got the villain in October. Because then I could just hand the card to the GTG guys at PAX

I can confirm I'm still interested! However, I'm away next week. I'll be back the week after.
(So maybe it should go to Indianapolis first, depending on the timing.)
Let's move things forward. More votes where for the Mad Bomber, so he is the villain. However, we still need the first 2 people on the list to confirm before we get started. Once that happens, we can get started.
When you get the card, play a game against him, and post the results. Also, we should have something in the envelope that everyone should sign. Other than that, do you want (within reason). Take a photo, dance with the card, take it for a walk, etc.

How many people will be signing? It's probably possible to just get a sheet of paper signed by everyone and use that to make a commemorative plaque or whatnot.
It would be awesome to get a photo in each location, so we can have a visual File of Baron Blades World Tour.
We could have a thread for photos with the Baron.

An oversized villain card would already have to be mailed in a larger-than-normal (semi-)rigid envelope. Since full-page flat mailers are by far the most common/easily-available of those, an art print should still be OK. A standard envelope would certainly work better for the international post, but we couldn’t use an oversized card that way.

Step one: get your envelope of goodies from your fellow Global Friends!
Step two: play a game against the enclosed Mad Bomber Blade!
Step three: take a picture of you and your friends playing and post it here!
Step four: follow the instructions, fill out the Battle Report, and put it all back in the envelope! (Be sure to put the correct stamp on the back of the envelope, depending on whether you won or lost.)
Step five: tape the envelope closed! (DON'T SEAL THE ENVELOPE WITH THE LICKABLE GLUE! If you do, it won't be easily opened by the next person. The metal closing thing plus a layer of tape is plenty. And the tape is easy to cut off.)
Step six: make sure you have plenty of postage. It'll cost more than the stamp will cover, but not a ton more. You'll have to talk to your friendly local USPS people to make sure you have sufficient postage.
Step seven: mail it to the next person on the list!
Let's send the Mad Baron around the world!

Anticipate seeing at least one kid in the picture. If there's only one, it's the Grasshopper. If there's more, it's likely the Grasshopper & friends. Oh, is it not all just going back in the original envelope? I was hoping that envelope would make it around the world and have a vast array of winning/losing stamps on it by the time it made it back here.
Hmm, that's not how it came to me, and I'm not sure it would work: the stamp on the envelope I received wasn't actually cancelled, and I'm pretty sure the post office wouldn't be happy sending it on in the same envelope. Would all the post offices around the world really accept a letter with an array of 20 cancelled stamps already on it? It would look really cool if it happened, though!
I'll talk to my post office before sending it on next, and try to get back to something like that original envelope.

I play it solo for the most part, sometimes with 1 other person. And I didn't want a sad picture of me playing with myself (get your mind out of the gutter, I was talking about the game!) bringing down the vibe of the wall of pictures that will come as a result of this.

Last weekend, Baron Blade's assault on Bloomington was staved off!

He is now on his way to attempt an assault on Indianapolis. Three of the players in this game were new; they were disappointed that the Advanced Baron Blade didn't put up more of a fight! Right after that, we attempted the Dreamer, and that seemed to be suitably difficult.

I'm the holdup. Received somewhen in September, then both of my best chances to get the game in fell apart. My time has been restricted due to my wife having two conferences in the space of four weeks and the promise to the Grasshopper that he gets a seat at the table for it.
If I had to predict blind right now, I'd say it'll be (American) Thanksgiving weekend before the backlog gets dislodged, but I'll try to make it happen sooner than that.

Well, it didn't happen sooner than Thanksgiving weekend, and the friends who were going to join us had to bail. So, the Grasshopper & I played a 2-player, 4-hero game. Granted that I chose my heroes to make easy to keep track of, and that the Grasshopper insisted on playing in Freedom Tower (even though we'd just used it for our warm-up game against Ambuscade, since neither of us had played since September), but we should have played Advanced Mode. Knyfe, GI Bunker, Wraith, and DW Expatriette just tore through the Baron. We had him flipped during Bunker's turn on round 2, I think (otherwise round 3), having taken 1 damage from him and needing to destroy a total of 3 cards. Two of those were easily expendible, and we continued to tear through him with ease.
Unfortunately, the game store was pretty lightly trafficked with people that we knew, so we couldn't get a picture taken. :( Still, we'll have the envelope in the mail later this week.

I thought hard about using Tronx. He's probably my favorite support character. I was really surprised that the Grasshopper didn't use AZ, since that was his favorite character for a long time. (He got a poster print of AZ's character card as a present from points way far north last Christmas, with the help and permission of Christopher & Adam. I think there's even a pic in their Twitter stream.)
Edit to add: In the end, I tried to keep my two heroes simple to play, because I was running them and the villain and environment turns. If we'd had somebody else playing with us, I probably would have used Tronx.
Further adding: I ran Knyfe & Wraith, he ran GI Bunker & DW Expat. I can't recall if he got a 4 power Unload in the "official" game or in the one we played against Ambuscade as a warm-up, but it went Aim, Tac Shotgun, Submachine Gun, Pride, Prejudice (as a freebie from Pride). he was pretty impressed by that.

Then I hand delivered it to LyAnJulHwin, who won. I've been awaiting a reply from Phalse about an address to send it to next, but logs show he hasn't been online in over a year. What say we skip over him and proceed to Phantskippy?

Welcome back! Sorry about work.
Sounds good. How about this, from now on, only go to the bext confirmed person. If someone comes later, they will be added to the end.

Also, keep in mind that you don't have to wait to ask the next person on the list for their address - you can ask now. That way, you will know in advance if there might be a problem getting in touch with them. Just make sure to find out if they might be moving soon.

You know what's really funny? Somewhere in there, fairly early on, there's a game won by me. And it'll get back to me at GTGHQ (maybe), eventually.

I added myself. Although, the adrss may be a bit more complex depending on what month it is, because I go to school out of state from where I actually live.
