I'll moderate this one running villains. Randomizer declares the following:

Visionary

Expatriette

Team Leader Tachyon

The Indestructible Bunker

The Argent Adept

vs.

Baron Blade

Friction

Ermine

Proletariat

Fright Train

in

Time Cataclysm.

Modulating the difficulty, a series of coin flips says Fright Train, and only Fright Train, will operate in Advanced mode.

OK, here we go.....    The formatting on some of this may be different that what folks are accustomed to, but I'm more used to moderating games at BGG, and this system helps me keep track of things.

I'm unlikely to be able to update more than once daily most days, as 6 decks is a bit much to carry around with me. I'll update more when I can.

Current Game Status:

Current Ongoing Effects:
- Reduce damage dealt to Baron Blade by 1
- Each player cannot play more than 1 card per turn
- Each Hero cannot use more than 1 power per turn
- When Proletariat would take non-psychic damage, redirect that damage to the clone card with the lowest HP
- Increase damage dealt by Fright Train by 1 (Advanced mode)
- Increase damage dealt by Fright Train by 1 (Engine of Destruction)
- Increase the first damage dealt to Fright Train each turn by 1

Baron Blade
HP: 32/32
Cards in Play: Genetically Fused Physique, Impulsion Beam (8/8 HP)

Baron Blade's turn:

Start: Nothing

Play: Turn the Tables - somebody gets dealt 2 melee and 2 lightning damage.

End: Baron Blade deals 2 melee damage to the Argent Adept [22, assuming he doesn't take the card play damage], then 1 melee damage to himself [31]. He then heals 2 HP [32].

Having one player run all the villains is great for reducing confusion, but does that mean that it will take almost a week to do each round?

Also, just to confirm, the hero order is as in the first post, so I'm up next as Ex-Patriette (after Friction)?

One thing before I can run Friction's turn: who's taking damage from Turn the Tables? (It would target the hero with the most cards in play, but everybody's tied right now.)

If I can get an answer in the next couple hours, I can probably get Friction's turn (at least) done tonight.

I realised that with Impulsion Beam in play, there’s really only one play that makes sense.

Ex-Patriette

HP: 24

Hand: Assault Rifle, RPG Launcher, RPG Launcher, Arsenal Access

In play:

[hr]
Start of hero turn:

Play a card: Assault Rifle

Use a power: Assault Rifle. Deal 3 melee damage to Impulsion Beam (5) and Friction (23). Highbrow deals 1 energy damage to Tachyon or Bunker.

Draw a card: “Prejudice”

End of hero turn:

[hr]

HP: 24

Hand: RPG Launcher, RPG Launcher, Arsenal Access, “Prejudice”

In play: Assault Rifle

Ermine:

Start: Nothing

Play: Impromptu Heist

End: Ermine reveals The Seer, who is discarded. Ermine deals 2 melee damage to any one hero except The Visionary.

Constant Prattle discards the following cards from villain and turn decks, in order: Negation Bands, Synergy Surge (y'all got lucky!), Uncatchable, Proletariat, Plow Through, and Giant Mutated Specimen.

Impromptu Heist attempts to destroy one hero Ongoing or Equipment card.

The net effect of this (so far) is the following HP totals: Vis 17, Expat, TLT, and AA at 20 each, Bunker 19 with one hit from a Proletariat left to assign. Either Expat, AA, or TLT gets hit one more time before the Proles begin their end-of-turn assault.

How is Fright Train at 35 hp?  He should have taken some from my last Psychic Maelstrom (at least 3), plus damage from the Surprise Shopping Trip on Baron Blade's turn (at least 2), leaving him at 30 before my turn.

For future reference, if a villain attempts to destroy an Ongoing of ours, feel free to take Mental Divergence.  As of the end of my turn, there are no more villain ongoings on the board aside from Rebuilt to Survive, which is probably better left in play!

Late night posting - misread Rebuilt to Survive as healing him at the end of every turn, not just every villain turn. (He does heal at the end of BB's turn, though.) Also, the +1 to the first instance for Fright Train came from Engine of Destruction, which has been destroyed. He therefore takes the 3 damage from SST and Psychic Maelstrom.

Visionary takes 1 energy damage from Highbrow when Psychic Maelstrom enters play.

Villain turn now, yes. I got surprised at work earlier this week by getting semi-volunteered, semi-drafted for an extra project. (I volunteered because it desperately needed doing and nobody else would.) Getting prepped for it has eaten up lots of my free time the last couple days. Still not done, but now broken into bite-sized pieces.

Fright Train's turn:

Start: Nothing

Play: Last Stop reveals Passing Tumbleweed from the Environment deck. Fright Train deals 1 damage to Bunker [11]; Passing Tumbleweed is discarded.

End: Fright Train deals 3 melee damage to any hero except AA, then regains 1 HP [28]

@cmschex: Not an unjustified complaint. To be fair-ish, when I started the game I expected an increase in available time, not a decrease.

Baron Blade's turn

Play: Regression Darts. The Baron's attempt at damage pings off of Bunker harmlessly, but one of Visionary, Expat, or TLT takes 1 projectile damage and cannot deal damage until the start of Baron Blade's next turn [7 HP remaining for the target]

Marsquake destroys one Hero Ongoing, 1 Villain Ongoing, and 1 Environment. I believe they could be resolved in any order and that the Marsquake could self-destruct before taking out other cards. However, the Marsquake is gone regardless.

----

Environment start: Destroy Marsquake and maybe Research Grant

Environment Play: Atlantean Throne Room

Environment end: Nothing

----

Baron Blade Start: Nothing

Baron Blade play: Old Tricks - New Allies

- Locomotivation is played from Fright Train's deck. It reveals Major Flay, who is discarded.

Baron Blade end: Baron Blade deals 1 melee damage to himself [7] and 0 melee damage to Bunker [7]

------

Current Game Status:

Current Ongoing Effects:
- Increase damage dealt to Bunker by Fright Train by 1.
- Increase damage dealt to Fright Train by Bunker by 1.

- Increase damage dealt by Expatriette and Bunker by 1 until the start of AA's turn
- Reduce all damage by 1

Can you do the Mind Spike on Fright Train instead? Both Ex-Patriette and Bunker have some multi-target damage coming up, and between them I think they'll take out Baron Blade without problem.

Ex-Patriette draws Reload and Submachine Gun, and discards Assault Rifle.

Also, I'm pretty sure we don't get the choice of the order in which to execute card effects on a single card.

Agreed. The paperwork for the Research Grant fell into a crevasse that opened up during the Marsquake.

So can someone run down what's available for this destruction? Ex-Patriette has the Assault Rifle, and Bunker has Heavy Plating, Upgrade Mode, Gatling Gun, and Omni-Cannon. Of those I'd choose to destroy the Heavy Plating, which I guess means I can go ahead and do Ex-Patriette's turn.
