Miss Information vs Dr Medico, Mr Fixer and Captain Cosmic in the Block.
Good luck, heroes.
Miss Information vs Dr Medico, Mr Fixer and Captain Cosmic in the Block.
Good luck, heroes.
Driving Mantis and Jack Handle are what you should try getting out and maintaining for Mister Fixer.
This wasn't exactly easy, but it was a lot more winnable than I initially expected. Dr. Medico of course makes everything easier.
I lost Captain Cosmic, but once I got Dual Crowbars (use the Tool Box to get them faster!) it was pretty much all over. Hit something for 2, hit Miss Info for 3, she hits back for 1, Driving Mantis it back to her. And both Dr. Medico and Incaptain Cosmic can give out extra power uses. :)
Dr. Medico responds to the need in the prison system, and brings his Nurse Assistants Mr. Fixer and Captain Cosmic. They get separated in a prison riot, learning that Miss Information is afoot!
A++ theme and gameplay. Mint with each hero around 20. The fact that these heroes can't destroy ongoing cards made for interesting choices that weren't ultimately too difficult. Medico can easily outpace Miss Information's rate of damage. Fixer spent most of the game isolated, but delivered a decisive conclusion once armed with a Cosmic Weapon and empowered with the Doctor's Second Opinion.
Mint, but it was real close for me. I mainly got hurt by two things: not paying enough attention to the environment, and an interaction that I would never in a million years have assumed, but which seems to be working as intended.
Specifically, I Isolated Hero Mr. Fixer, and then discovered that if you Hoist Chain someone with him, it doesn't reduce their damage when they are fighting other heroes.
So my cunning plan to double-Hoist Char so that the others could focus on Ms. Information did not work out so hot, and all of my constructs died.
Between that and the turn that I took 14 damage from Time-Crazed Prisoners, the environment hurt me a lot more than Ms. Info did...
Not an easy fight, but easier than I expected against Miss Information, with the heroes at 14/27/9. I think a smaller team actually works better against her.
Dr. Medico spent much of the game healing himself and doing some small healing on Mr. Fixer.
Mr. Fixer played "Driving Mantis" early on, and that worked out very well. Unfortunately, he never got a tool in his hand, so he wasn't able to do much more than that.
Captain Cosmic actually managed to deal out some significant damage with his constructs, but they kept getting destroyed over and over again. This fight was not a safe place for low hit-point targets.
I decided to leave many of the prisoners in play, working very hard to knock Miss Information down so that "Time-Crazed Prisoner" did a big attack against her. And Char was the one that finally took her down (no honor among thieves, I guess). I might try this fight again, but this time controlling the prisioners better.
Fun fight, and went better than I expected. Would fight again.
Mint at 8 / 28 / 3.
Captain Cosmic spent the whole game Isolated and trying to do some useful stuff. He did a little damage.
Medico healed himself and Fixer a bit, but not himself *too* much, because once two Time-Crazed Prisoners came out, I wanted their help. The first round they came out, I Immunized Fixer and dodged the damage. The second turn they were out, I had it set up to where they put some hurt on MI.
Fixer parked behind Driving Mantis in round 2 and stayed there the whole game. MI had a lot of trouble hitting him... and he had a lot of trouble hitting himself. Had to make sure to bypass Driving Mantis to get Immunization to work, though.
Char hurt a bit, but I was willing to soak his hits to get MI dead faster.
Fixer never did get a tool in play, but it didn't matter. By the time I had one in hand, she was almost toast and Charge was a better play to just get it closer to being overwith.
Ahh, the origin of the “If you Stun Bolt a Scion and it moves to the other Battle Zone, does it make a sound?” conundrum. :B
Taken in that context, this does make sense.
The environment was definitely a bigger threat than the villain for a moment. I had just settled into what I thought was a sustainable routine when the heroes got slammed with Char and 2 Time-Crazed Prisoners on turn 3. It shouldn't have been a surprise, but I didn't check the trash after the Riot, and I too didn't grasp the interaction between Hoist Chain and Isolated Hero. Fortunately, the heroes could clear the Prisoners, and Warden Hoeffle was ready to deal with Char, and we went into recovery.
While still making no sense.
Agreed!
I've been liking these stay at home related challenges these past weeks. Haven't lost one yet but I end up being very close to missing Mint sometimes (Writhe's performance in Flatten the Curve almost flattened him). Had 0/8/1 today, almost turned into the Mr. Fixer show.
Captain Cosmic was my Isolated Hero most of the game, although I should have remembered Mr. Fixer would do fine for himself with his Driving Mantis style. I was also going to try to funnel Time Crazed Prisoner attacks but one of them had a nasty 13 damage hit when Dr. Medico was at that much HP. Mr. Fixer was around 10 hp at that time and an isolated Captain Cosmic was desperately hiding under crumbling constructs. The next several rounds were a war of attrition until Miss Information's health was in the teens, then I popped Bloody Knuckles on Mr. Fixer so he could Jack Handle into impunity.
Are the heroes keeping the virus down? For the Sentinels of the Multiverse at my helm, they almost kill themselves in the process.
(Here's to our real life heroes! Stay healthy everybody!)
