Welp, it's that time again, everyone! Time to figure out how to unlock Super Sentai Idealist!

It's been a while since we've had an unlock to discuss. It's nice to get back into it.

Have all her Constructs out?

Have all her Constructs out and charged with cards under them??

Destroy a construct with Giant Floaty Head to replicate the new base power?

Captain Cosmic has constructs.

Idealist has concepts and puts fragments under them.

I’m thinking it has something to do with the four other heroes from the [Spoilers I Guess?] Voltron mission card in OblivAeon [\spoilers].  And probably dealing a lot of damage.  Or using both karate robots in one turn.

I thought we might need to play with the other four heroes (Captain Cosmic, Tempest, Visionary, Argent Adept), just haven’t figured out what to do with them.

I also tried playing all fragments under Karate Robots, but in a game without any of the listed heroes. (Sidenote: Idealist was first in order, and dealt the final blow the villain on a later turn.)

I would guess it involves using a big "bored now" attack, as that's pretty evocative of her Sentai power

Yes, I was also theorising about playing with those other 4 heroes as well - presumably with Idealist in the lead position?

Apparently it isn't getting the final blow with a Karate Robot made out of Shinobi Assassins.

Which is a shame, because it's a karate robot made of ninjas.

Here's the Steam discussion: https://steamcommunity.com/app/337150/discussions/0/1732090362038263694/

Usually they're really good about immediately checking the Windows registry to see if there's a prereq game.  They haven't said anything about it either way so far.  I don't play on Windows so I can't check.  Of course, there's always the possibility that MigrantP got fed up with our hackery and hid the prereq trigger more carefully this time.

I played a game with Idealist, Tempest, Captain Cosmic, Visionary, and Argent Adept versus Baron Blade in Mobile Defense Platform. Idealist had 38 cards under Karate Robot, then hit Baron Blade with it, and destroyed him on the first set of damage. (Also no characters were incapped, and I think they all had 20+ HP.)

No Unlock.

I'm wondering if there's any way the other heroes can "help" Idealist somehow?  AA and CC have lots of options (including making her activate her Karate Bot).  Visionary could put Twist the Ether on her.  Not sure what Tempest could do other than heal her.

Tempest could also let her get some cards back from the discard pile.

In the reward card it clearly looks like Tempest is contributing Lightning so perhaps he needs to have his ongoing lightning plink card in play? Perhaps Visionary needs to use her telekinetic platform power? Captain Cosmic could have to give Idealist a blade? Not quite sure what Argent Adept would need to do...

So, I was trying for the unlock for Idealist. I thought just keeping Monster of Id in play for as long as possible. I went to Temple of Zhu Long, against Ambuscade.

i brought XPW AA, Tempest,  Doctor Medico, and of Idealist.

I had ID, Superego, and the Tiara our. No other concepts.

She never died. There was much healing. Even with 12 cards and more she also gained enough to get back to full.

Played this game twice

defeated Ambuscade with a bored now, and once with a fragment.

No unlock either way

Tried a game in which the Mecha-Knight team tried to help Idealist in every way possible.  Put every construct on her, let her draw cards, play cards, use powers, healed her (in two different ways), let her recover cards from her trash (in 3 different ways), protected her with Shielding Winds, let her deal every damage type with Twist the Ether.  Never did use Syncopated Onslaught or Counterpoint Bulwark on her, though.  Won with a too-big Karate Bot.  No unlock.

Tried a game against Akash with OX, grandpa Legs, Rogue Knyfe and idealist. I setup this way so Idealist could do all the things, and she did. Had a karate robot that did 20 damage per strike. Drew 20 cards with the head. Didn't damage 20 things with the knives, only 7, but I could have. I had everything in play that could be in play at the same time. Blew up the id and brought it back.

Unfortunately, no unlock.

I wonder if there's a sequence of events from multiple heroes this time?

The prerequisite for the giant robot mission seems to closely resemble the Perform ability on Argent Adept's Inventive Preparation. Maybe there's something specific each hero in the giant robot needs to contribute? Cosmic Weapon?

No idea what from Tempest or Visionary, though.

In just experimenting, I tried DC Argent Adept, Requital CC, PW Tempest, Visionary Unleashed, and Idealist (feet, arms, head) vs. Advanced Ennead.  I've actually lost 3 times in a row in progressively easier environments.  It's surprisingly challenging.  Idealist, and Vis Unleashed to a lesser extent, aren't strong against multiple targets, this version of AA isn't the best, PW Tempest isn't strong without extra card draw, and the Ennead has a lot of mass damage that makes CC unhappy.  I just had a rather humiliating loss where the Ennead played The Grave Beckons when AA was down and all my other heroes (and a construct) were at 3 HP or less.

Needless to say, this has not resulted in an unlock.

I'm trying to figure out if it's something like chaining those five together so that they all use a power or all play a card, or both, in the same turn, or maybe use a specific combination of powers and cards.  I tried it with the base version of each, and also with Requital Cosmic, Prime Wardens Tempest, Visionary Unleashed, and Dark Adept.  It didn't work.

Along the way there I had Idealist use Making Things Up to play all her concepts in one turn (including Id via the drawing), put a huge number of cards into play during one turn, and had each hero play a card and use a power within the same turn.  No luck.

Well… if I had to guess…

Idealist would obviously contribute her karate robot.

Since it’s a Mecha-Knight, Captain Cosmic would probably contribute his Cosmic Crest.

If I look at the mission card, there’s a crackling lightning effect on the sword-stroke, so Tempest should contribute his Lightning Slash.

Visionary might contribute her Cocoon, which is the most physical object in her deck – the only other thing I can think of is Mass Levitation.

I’m guessing Argent Adept is just there to pull it all together (i.e. provide powers to use the necessary cards).

So I'm looking at the One Shot.  I think part of it may be Chokepoint destroys x number of cards.  They start Legacy and Tempest out with both of their healing powers and some good defence stuff to help survive her flipped form.  Gonna try going for destroy 10 or 15 cards.

This may be a stupid question: does anyone know if it is possible to trigger unlock conditions IN a one shot?  or do they only trigger in the regular game set up?  Doing the one shot where Chokepoint destroyed 11 cards after flipping did not seem to do anything.

I've got a few theories... in the Letters Page, they described some of the Void Guard's Adventures In Spaaaaace before they returned to Earth:

  • Fight with Chokepoint in the Celestial Tribunal with Captain Cosmic's help
  • Visit to Dok Thorath
  • Captured by the Colosseum.
  • Escaped with the help of Lifeline

So I'm thinking maybe it's not just Chokepoint, maybe there's a whole series of prerequisite games, but the Chokepoint fight needs to be with the Void Guard, not the Sentinels.

Does anyone know how the fight against Chokepoint went? Somebody said 'not well' but I couldn't find a reference in the Letters Page that said so. So maybe the fight is the Void Guard they have to win, or lose, or win with all Void Guard incapacitated (but Captain Cosmic saves the day).  Maybe the have to have Chokepoint steal lots of cards, or only a few (or none?  That'd be rough.)

After that fight, possibly winning a fight at Dok Thorath, and then losing at the Colosseum?  (The lifeline thing isn't possible yet, of course.)

I posted this on steam, but I figure I'll cover my bases.

Two things: Form the body before the head brings to mind the line from Voltron "And I'll form the head!" so looking at the Voltron assembly it goes "form feet and legs" - Yellow Lion, Blue Lion change shape "Form Arms and Body" Red Lion, Green Lion, attach to body, Blue Lion, Yellow Lion attach to Body, "And I'll form the head!" Black Lion shows the human head. Might be a clue for a specific order of actions?

Can anyone post any and all text on the mission card? And or theories on who would be which lion?

Edit: Found the text.

At the end of your turn, each player may reveal the top card of their deck. They may discard or draw that card. If H cards are discarded this way, flip this card.

Art: Closeups of Tempest, Idealist, Visionary, Argent Adept, and Captain Cosmic posing in a Super-Sentai-style 5-in-1 image;

Flavor-text: "Ready?" The young shard-bearer asks. Your companions nod. Your planning has led to this moment. "Let's do it! Come on, Mecha-Knight!" Summon your strength, heroes. This will take all your might.

Maybe the body before the head indicates order of winning the mission.  First each character has to discard a card somehow?  Maybe with Visionary's base power?

Glad you said that, because my first thought was using Unity somehow, and that would've been a wild goose chase.

That said, getting the mecha mission just requires discarding cards from the top of hero decks. <.< If we're sticking with that team, I suppose using Dark Dynamics to discard the top card of hero decks (and play non-hero cards?) could have something to do with it...

I looked at the wiki and while there isn't art on the idealist page for Super Sentai, there is text that pops up and shows her base power:

Form the Head: - Move a Concept from in Play and any cards under it to under this card. The Idealist deals 1 Target X Energy damage, where X = the number of cards under this card. Destroy a card under this card.

So if that's forming the head, maybe we just need to focus on forming the body ... whatever that entails.

I don't think that hint does much more than confirm that we were on the right track originally with trying to recreate the Mecha Knight team construction project.

For what it's worth, MigrantP pointed out in the stream yesterday that all previous Weekly One-Shots that were unlock hints had randomized start, so the fact that the Chokepoint/Tribunal one didn't suggests that it's not a hint at all and can be safely ignored.

Edit: Over in the Steam thread, MigrantP outright said there has been no hint for this game other than what he gave at the end of the stream, which was the "you must form the body" thing.

This is helpful, but can someone please confirm the exact order/positions each person has on that card? Also, can we confirm that the variants everyone is in? Pretty sure it was dark conductor argent, requiem cosmic, visionary unleashed, and prime wardens tempest, but that is running from memory. It kind of feels like it might be important.

As an added thought, is it possible that “forming the body” has any connection to cosmic and his energy armor?

It's Dark Conductor AA in the lower left, Tempest (impossible to say which variant) in the upper left, VG Idealist in the top center, Visionary Unleashed in the top right, and Requital CC in the lower right.  Tempest is probably PW since it seems to be everyone's "final" variant here (and we know he busts out the sword shortly thereafter).

I tried a few things with the Mecha-Knight team in their variants.

1) Play cards featuring animals (since the mecha-knight is a play off Voltron the the Power Rangers forming the body would consist of animals coming together).  These were Aquatic Correspondence from Tempest (eel), Vernal Sonata from AA (dog), Augmented Ally from CC (Hippo), and Suggestion from Visionary (Bugbear?).  Then play Floating Cat Head and use it's power.  This did not work.

2) then I tried playing cards with teams on them.  Cleansing Downpour from Tempest, Rhapsode of Vigor and/or Silver Shadow from AA, Unflagging Animation from CC and Mass Levitation from Visionary, then Floating Cat Head and used it's power.  This did not work either.

Hi GTG forums, first time posting because I wanted to try getting in on the creative processes of unlocking stuff.

I haven't been doing any testing myself, but I wanted to try and throw out some ideas to maybe help with getting the creative juices flowing for other people as well, as I myself have been puzzling over the concepts and clues for the better part of today.

I can't help but feel that the Mecha-Knight team as depicted in the mission card I cannot view is important- and as such, I feel that for this unlock, the order in which the team is arranged is important, with Idealist either in front, or in my opinion more likely, in the very last position.

So I've come up with a few ideas as to how this could work. If we must first "form the body," then I feel it is a reasonable conclusion that at its simplest, "the idealist must be the target of one or more effects from each hero target, then do X" X being something I am unsure of, which I will provide a theory about a little later.

This is my idea at its simplest- something like cleansing downpour from tempest, a construct from cosmic, some effect from visionary, mass levitation or twist the ether, perhaps? and any beneficial effect from argent adept. But is it that simple? It could be, but I have other ideas.

Going with the theme of a replication of the mission card, it could be "arrange these 5 in the correct order and cause them to discard cards from the top of their deck in a specific order," or "then idealist does X." Or much more complicatedly, a certain set of cards might be needed before Idealist does X. And I have an idea where to start with this.

In Letters Page 46, Captain Cosmic and Infinitor which I was just listening to before getting inspired to start getting my ideas out here, Adam and Christopher are addressing situations in which he blends his own energy and the energy he attained from the death of Infinitor, and Adam drops a very quick, passing mention of Cosmic "Helping Idealist with a Project", Christopher following up with "He also makes a very big sword." [Edit: Timestamp is 1:20:43] This, I feel, could be extrapolated to give the assumption that as a part of my proposed sequence, Cosmic has to use the Cosmic Weapon card on Idealist.

Now, what do I think X is? I have 2 ideas. Either Idealist defeats the enemy with the Karate Robot concept, or activates Floating Head when it has 4 or 5 cards underneath it. The former could also require specifically 4 or 5 fragments underneath, as it could be representative of the completed mecha-knight being made up of 5 parts, or 4 parts from other cards.

Minor but very related tangent, I've also come up with another idea for the unlock that instead has nothing to do with using the mecha-knight team but instead involves a reference to her power. The wiki states that SSVG Idealists's power, "Form the Head"'s mechanic is "Move a Concept from in Play and any cards under it to under this card. The Idealist deals 1 Target X Energy damage, where X = the number of cards under this card. Destroy a card under this card." Replicating this idea might also be a key to unlocking the variant- VG Idealist could also have to be given from 4 other allies that can ongoing cards that move next to her hero card, to simulate the idea of SSVG idealist's power pulling cards under her hero card. For the record, I'm fixated on the numbers 4 and 5, and individual allies and not, say, slapping a million constructs from cosmic on her, because that's not the "point" of the Giant Robot Sentai stuff; the whole team contributes to form the giant robot.

I'm sorry if this leakage of several hours of me puzzling is either ultimately pointless or considered unwanted or a waste of precious screen-space real-estate, but I'm at least happy to try providing my thoughts on the matter.

Faiure.  I put every card I could under her - total of 37.  Only things that weren't were 1 bored now and her tiara.  Went 38 rounds (thought maybe it was as many rounds as cards under karate robot with a minimum of 30 or something)

It's also not have all concepts in play with at least 1 card under it at once, later play Bored Now to return 30 cards to your hand from under a Karate Robot.

Yeah, Nyx and I both have it, and there's at least one other person on Discord who got it as well.

So far all I can see is that a relatively large Bored Now is the final trigger, but what leads up to it is kind of a mystery. I know in my game, the big Bored Now didn't work until (a) the game had gone on long enough for Gloomweaver to shuffle his deck, and (b) I had used the powers on each of the other Concepts at least once each. At Nyx's suggestion, I also tried putting two cards under each Concept (other than Id) - I don't know if that actually made a difference or not, but it helped me clean up environment targets.

My strategy for stalling the game was "Legacy vs. Gloomweaver in MDP, come at me, bro". My third hero was Omni-X, who kept us fully healed from environment splash damage.

Here's my screenshot

I used every power at least once. Used BORED now when there was fragments under any concepts except for one karate robot. I used HEAD, then KNIVES, then KARATE ROBOT. Monster of ID ended up under Robot. Every time I had used BORED NOW. I thing happened. Only once I had ONE concept with fragments under it did it work.

I returned 30 fragments to my hand.

I played with Nyx's setup (F6 Tachyon, F5 Legacy, Dr. Medico, and Idealist v. Ambuscade in Temple of Zhu Long).  I put every concept into play, each with 3 cards under it.  I then got every card other than one tiara and one strained superego (both in play) and one bored now (in my hand) under a karate robot, then played the bored now and got 36 cards back.  It took forever.  No unlock.

I definitely used GFH at least once (to get Monster of Id into my trash, so I could tiara it under Karate Robot), but I don't think I ever used FSK.  So if the condition requires Monster of Id to be in play when using the Bored Now or all powers to be used as some point, I would have failed on either of those counts.

No log because I have no idea how to find it on a mac.

I haven't taken a real swing at Idealist yet, but I have a theory based on the setups used in the three logged unlocks here.

Form the Mecha-Knight is definitely a collaborative effort flavor-wise. Common threads seem to be trickle-feeding cards from other Concepts into Mecha-Knight until it's the only loaded Concept, unloading it with a massive Bored Now, and Monster of Id popping up underneath it to be auto-played...and I'm noticing the heroes and/or environments Idealist is playing with are partly support-based and allow her to take extra actions. F5 Legacy, Temple of Zhu Long, and PW Argent Adept are REALLY good extra-play engines. Maybe a certain number of Fragments need to be put under Karate Robot (or a Concept in general) outside of Idealist's turn? That might be straw-grasping, but it seems thematically appropriate that she can't pull this stunt off alone.

If not that, maybe just a certain number of cards need to be moved from other Concepts to Karate Robot throughout the game. Or maybe both, who can tell at this point.

Okay, I'm forming a theory.  Based on Nyx getting it with only 15 cards under the concept, I think it may be

Idealist must first have all her Concepts in play with two Fragments under each, then have 12 fragments under a single Concept with no fragments under any other concept, and return all the Fragments to her hand using Bored Now.

For what it's worth, the unlock happens as soon as the fragments return to your hand, before damage is dealt or the concept is destroyed.

Got it this time.  Someone in the discord suggested having the other concepts out at the time Bored Now is used, so I did that.  Earlier in the game, they’d each had 3 cards under them.  I also made sure to use every one of her powers earlier in the game.  Also, if it’s relevant, I used Bored Now two other times during the game, to empty out Monster of Id.  I also used Strained Superego to get Monster of Id into the trash the turn before I did the unlock.  Then had F5 Tachyon cause Idealist to draw a card.  Deck was empty, Monster of Id was the only thing in the trash, so Idealist reshuffled, draw Monster of Id, and it played itself, so I was able to have it in play but with 0 cards under it at the time of my play phase.

No log but immediately before and immediately after.

Just unlocked her. Every Concept out, three cards minimum under each before the consolidation started (though we've already seen it can be as few as two), 30 cards total piled under Monster of Id, popped it with Bored Now, unlock screen the moment the last card hit my hand.

Setup was F5 Legacy, TLT, PW AA, Idealist, and Omni-X vs. Ambuscade at Temple of Zhu Long. I quickly learned from looking at Steam that I was way off base with the extra-play requirement, but it sure made it a quicker process to converge all her cards towards the one Concept.

I think we have a good general feel for how it works now, but in order to narrow it down to the specifics, I want to pose a question to everyone else who unlocked her. Did anyone do this without every Concept in play? (We'll count bounce-back autoplayed Monster of Id as being in play by the time Bored Now resolves.)

I got it in a long random game so I am out of the testing. I thought that I would summarise what we know.

Known

1. Bored now blowing up a concept with at least 15 cards under it seems to be the trigger.

2. No other concepts can have fragments when the trigger goes off.

3 Concepts can be destroyed as long as they are all in play at the time of the trigger.

4. It doesn't matter which concept is used for the trigger (not sure this is verified for ID)

Suspected

1 All concepts must be in play (including ID) and have 2 cards under them at some point.(Maybe at the same time).

2. Powers on all concepts must be ised  at leadt once..

Unknown

1 Do the Tiara and/or Super ego need to be in play?

2 Is there a specific combination of cards that must be under the trigger concept when it is blown up (one of each)?

Big twist from Haribo over on the Steam board: Bored Now is not required.  He got the unlock by using a giant robot punch.

I'm thinking there's three requirements:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist,

1) Have all 6 ongoing concept cards in play with two cards (fragments?) under each.

2) Then, use Superego to move a card from under one concept to another at least 10 times. (Not sure about this one, I'm guessing)

3) Then, remove at least 12 cards from under a concept at once, leaving no cards under any concepts.

Alright, so there are unlocks that don't have every Concept on the board. I think the important thing is the board states Idealist has throughout the game:

1. All Concepts in play have at least two cards beneath them.
2. One Concept hoards every under-card on the board, and the others are empty.
3. All Concepts in play have no cards beneath them.

I think one thing we should test is, instead of hoarding cards underneath the one Concept, just procedurally dumping all the Concepts until only one has any, then dumping that one so none of them have any. The unlock triggers the moment board-state 3 is true, and this would prove whether it needs to be a particularly large dump, and if it needs to be an external removal/destruction effect that targets the Concept and forces it to empty. It'll also tell us whether any of those cards are allowed to LEAVE the board as opposed to being consolidated under one Concept.

We should also test to figure out how many Concepts ACTUALLY need to be out, and if it can be done with fewer than six. I'm positive that part of the thing that's keeping us from narrowing down the EXACT condition is that precise number.

There is a lot of good new information. New theory:

In one turn at least 1 of each fragment must be moved out from under a concept leaving no fragments under any concept. Prior to that each concept must have been in play at the same time with at least 1 fragment underneath each concept.

Update: my previous theory is wrong. I went back and reviewed all the success logs I could find and I focused on what was removed from the concept just before the unlock. Here is what is not needed:

Bored Now, Focusing Tiara, Making Things Up, Strained Super Ego, Vivid Thoughts, none of the Concepts.

In addition there was one success where only 10 of the fragments were removed. Of those 10, Better Punching was not there. The only one with 3 copies was Conceptualize. The others had 1 or 2 copies. There was some other stuff that was determined to not be needed.

So it is either a pure numbers game (i.e. 15 cards must be removed), a fragment numbers game (i.e.at least 9 fragments must be removed), a fragment combination game (i.e. at least 3 of one type of fragment must be removed or 5 out of the 6 fragments), or a combination  of these (i.e. 15 cards minimum with at least 3 of one fragment).

This is confounded by some precondition prior to the final trigger that we have not nailed down, but at least we now have a list of what is not required for the final trigger.

LY
lynkfox
2018-10-29 15:37 UTC

I'm thinking this:

In one turn at least one of each fragment must be moved from under a concept, leaving no fragements in play. Each unique concept must be in play at the time, and a total of at least 6 concepts must be in play.

I might considering adding:

Each fragment has to resolve its effect at least once.

You might also need to add a cavaet:

X number of fragments have to be moved to a different concept over the course of the game.

EDIT: Ignore. Waedens has some info that contridicts most of these.

Ok going through these logs is hard! If you have two of the sam concept out and a fragment gets put under a concept you can't tell which one it is going under. My current guess is this:

First, you must get 2 of each FS Kinves, GF Head and K Robot in play with at least 10 total fragments under them and at least 1 fragment under each. Then you must move 10 fragments out from under a concept at once leaving no other fragments under a concept in play.

I think I unlocked her with Skinwalker Gloomweaver in the Freedom Tower, since that’s the easiest deck combo to control and stall. I was using Freedom Five Absolute Zero, Freedom Five Legacy, Dark Visionary, and Prime Wardens Argent Adept. I used “Strained Superego” to make sure “Monster of Id” was destroyed before it could ever take a card under itself, but I had all six other concept cards in play, with two cards under each. I never put “Monster of Id” under a concept, instead leaving it in my trash by not drawing cards after my deck emptied. I moved one card from each concept to one of the “Karate Robot” cards and destroyed them all with “Bored Now;” it didn’t unlock. In the same game, I got “Karate Robot” back into play, and transferred all the cards under any other concept to “Karate Robot” and blew it up with “Bored Now.” The second time, it unlocked.

OK. I was thinking that might be a thing because the log showed that the unlock happened right after the last card was returned to hand...maybe taking it out from under the Concept triggered it.

I have an unlock that may help?

I was doing the usual setup, and managed to get all 6 concepts in play, with 2+ fragments under each. Then I moved a bunch of fragments and other cards under Monster of Id (as per usual). I was falling behind a bit on the game, so I had to use other concepts powers a few times, destroying the fragments below.

Eventually, I got 20+ cards (I think 21, although I don't remember exactly; definitely not all fragments) under Monster of Id. I used Bored Now to return Monster of Id to the deck and move all fragments to hand. No Unlock. I had messed up and left one Fragment under a Karate Robot.

The same turn I used that Karate Robot's power and the second that last Fragment was destroyed, there was an unlock.

That suggests that the final condition might be something like move a bunch of cards in one turn, instead of having to be all at once.

Here's my guess:

While playing as Void Guard The Idealist, first get all 6 Concepts into play, each with at least 2 Fragments under them. Then, move at least 20 cards from under Concepts in a single turn, such that no cards remain under any Concepts in play.

All 6 is innaccurate: there are 7 total including the Id, but not all of them need to be in play; I got mine only having 6 (I only played one of the knives).  I also got mine only removing 12 cards from under the Id, not 20.  So I would propose:

While playing as Void Guard The Idealist, first get 6 Concepts into play, each with at least 2 Fragments under them. Then, move at least 12 cards from under Concepts in a single turn, such that no cards remain under any Concepts in play.

Maybe the removing in a single turn (not action) is the wording we've been missing

Got all 7 concepts out. 2 under each. Then moved them all to one. Had 30+ cards under it. Used the power, no unlock.

This unfortunately seems to disprove a lot of the unlocks here. Willing to answer any questions anyone has.

I’m going to suggest:

Have at least one of each unique Construct in play. Have at least one of each unique Fragment in play under one or more constructs and then remove all fragments from play in a single turn.

I don’t know if it has been mentioned, confirmed, or rejected, but considering the “Form the head” clue, I wonder if part of the unlock includes having Superego and Id both in play, or having Superego underneath Id (and then being brought out from under it)?

I just unlocked her using the general Methods being talked about here, but I’m no scientist! Also on iOS, so no log.

So, to sum up the reddit AM5...

  • The unlock does not require more than 5 Concepts to be put into play. (But because the question was worded this way, we could still need to play 5 or more Concepts.)
  • The unlock does not require setting up a number of cards under Concepts before moving those cards around.
  • There is no minimum number of Fragments in the final step of the unlock.
  • When cards are removed from under a Concept, no part of the current board state outside the Idealist's play area affects whether the unlock condition is met. (For now; as a commenter notes, the Mecha-Knight could have an effect on this if you feel like using Oblivaeon for unlocks I guess.)
  • It does not matter if the cards under Concepts are Fragments specifically.

And that's it. Honestly don't feel like we learned a whole lot, though at least the second question negates the "2 under each Concept, them move them all under 1 Concept" theory. Which then leaves us back at square one?

The thing sticking out to me: I asked Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?

MigrantP's response: Let me just think about this. (...) This question is too complicated so I need to think about whether it's yes or no. I recommend making your questions simpler.  'Cause, like, technically I have to say no because your question has too many qualifiers in it, (someone in the background says 'aaah') so think about that!  Make your questions more straight forward and you might get more information.

Yvaine: You're very picky.

So I think there's still something there, the question is what.

In effort for an accurate summary: the answer to all of these questions were no.

  • Does it matter whether, in the final event that triggers the unlock, the cards under the Concept are Fragments specifically?

  • When cards are removed from under a Concept, does any part of the current board state outside of the Idealist's play area affect whether or not the condition is met?*

  • Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?

  • Does the unlock require more than 5 concepts to have been put into play?

  • Does the unlock require playing the tiara?

  • Is there a minimum number of fragments in the final step of the unlock?

* The answer for this was actually "no(for now)"

Here's a failed unlock.  In fact, it's a couple of failed unlocks with the Undo's left in there.  I have no idea what we're even looking for at this point, but I did try to get a bunch of Concepts out with cards under them, and then clear all the cards out from all of them, with the last one being a big burst.

Play (H) Concepts.  For (H)*2 rounds in a row a card must move from under one concept to another, after which all cards must be removed from under all concepts in play in a single turn.

Your point #2 is misleadingly stated, and your conclusion is dead wrong. The AM5 question was “Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?” (“No.”)

That does not necessarily negate the idea that we need to get X cards under five different concepts. The ‘no’ could equally mean they aren’t required to be moved around by Superego or Id, which we already had determined – I believe we had some unlocks where neither was ever in play. We aren’t back at square one.

In fact, if we assume instead that we’re on the right track with getting 5(?) concepts in play with 2(?) cards under each, then this part of the unlock might be a much simpler thing, like “Get 5 concepts in play with 2 cards under each, then remove all cards from under all concepts”. (Probably with some other adjunct requirements to fit the ‘build the body’ idea.)

By the way, because some people may not have seen it, that particular question got some flak from MigrantP:

Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?

MigrantP: “This question is too complicated so I need to think about whether it’s yes or no. I recommend making your questions simpler. 'Cause, like, technically I have to say no because your question has too many qualifiers in it, so think about that! Make your questions more straight forward and you might get more information.”

So it sounds like the ‘No’ answer in this case is a misleading ‘no’ – the questioner is on the right track, but something fiddly in there was wrong.

I just had a thought -- what if the requirement isn't an "each", but an "all"?  Like instead of  "Have 5 concepts in play with at least two cards under each", what if it's something like "Have at least 5 concepts in play with cards under them, and at least 10 (...12...15...) cards under concepts"?  And then you get rid of them all.

tried several things, got 5 concepts out( 2 robots 2 heads and a knife), 2 under each, moved two cards out from knives under a robot.

Then I had a brilliant idea.  Use Better punching to let me use a power -> giant floating head's power to destroy one of the robots, power phase use the other head to destroy the other robot, at that point no cards under concepts, no unlock.

I think "ok, maybe you need to keep all 5 concepts out at the end".  Use super ego until there are only cards under one robot and two heads.  Play Better Punching -> one head.  Power phase -> other head.  Better punching goes under knives, super ego moves knives to robot, use super ego end of turn power phase on the robot, no dice.

So then I figure just let everything get under one robot, use the robot.  Do that, no unlock.

https://pastebin.com/a5wqzLcn

At this point I'm thinking 1 of 3 paths to start exploring. 1) minimum amount of damage dealt by idealist? 2) Some combination of playing Vivid thoughts and or Making things up (I didn't account for that when I looked through my steam success log) 3) there's a ratio of some kind. On my success I did it with 6 concepts 2 under each for a total of 12. Maybe if it drops down to five concepts each one needs 3 before they start getting blown through?

Success! https://pastebin.com/7F2YpZzN

Pretty much my plan going in was to prove if it could be done with 5 concepts.

I got 5 concepts out excluding the Id, got 3 cards under each this time and started moving them around. again I tried using better punching to clear things out as soon as I could. Better Punching -> Cat Head power to destroy a knives, power phase power to destroy the other Knives, BP! under a Cat, Superego moves BP! to Robot, use Robot, No unlock.

Again, maybe have to leave them all in play. Move cards around some more until only the cat heads and the robot have cards under them. Better punching -> Cat head power, better punching goes under one of the knives, power phase power -> cat head power, end of phase superego moves better punching to karate robot for a total of 11 cards under it now, use robot, unlock success!

Important difference this time: I only had 4 heroes.  so 5 concepts might be the number, or it might be (h+1) ....

VE

so I propose:

Play a game with Void Guard Idealist.  H+1 Concepts must be put into play.  Cards must be put under concepts totalling at least 12, evenly spaced between the concepts.  Then in one turn remove all cards from under all concepts in play without destroying any concepts in play.

Things people can try to prove/disprove this:  Play a game with 3 heroes, play only 4 concepts, each with 4 cards under each of them before eliminating all cards under them.  Play a game with 4 heroes, put only 5 concepts into play, get a total of 12 under each card before moving them around and or eliminating them.

I don’t know if this is 100% accurate, but I did unlock her following this method. (H)=4. 15 cards under concepts, 13 fragments, 1 bored now from trash, and Monster of Id. 5 concepts out. Got 3 under each, then moved til I had 12 under karate robot, used power for the last 3 on cat head, then used her extra power use for karate robot. Unlocked when last card was removed from under it.

I'm not quite sure if this log is what you expected, but it's not an unlock. H=3, put out 4 concepts and 4 cards under each. However, I cleared them out one at a time. MigrantP said it wasn't necessary to move cards from under cards to under other cards, and otherwise it's virtually impossible to clear them all out in one turn. I haven't ended the game yet, so I'll try loading them up again, putting the Superego back in play, and consolidating without putting a 5th concept out.

I’ve gone through a few of the logs (though not all) and it seems that the times that the unlock happened from either using bored now or the one time someone used Argent Adept the unlock happens before the concept is removed from play.    So I’m gonna propose now:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist play at least 5 ongoing concepts.  Cards must be put under concepts totalling at least 12, evenly spaced between all concepts in play.  Then in one turn remove all cards from under concepts while keeping at least 5 ongoing concepts in play.

I forgot my tablet otherwise I’d be trying to do more tests.  Another thing might be that it’s not in one turn, it might be in one round?  So characters that can let her use powers, or characters that can destroy her cards may help?

Well, here's the continuation of that attempt with H=3.  After failing the first time, I made sure 4 Concepts were in play, and no other Concepts had ever entered play (and let me tell you, it took some shenanigans to make sure the Monster of Id never came out in a game this long!).  Put 4 cards under each Concept.  Consolidated them all under one Concept using Superego, without any of those concepts leaving play, then popped it with Bored Now.  No unlock.

I suspect 5 Concepts is indeed the magic number, even with H=3, since we know it isn't more than 5.  How to get from there to the unlock, though, I have no idea.

Edit: To finish out that game and get on with my life, I rewound, played a 5th Concept, put 2 cards under it, consolidated them under the one that already had 16, and blew it up.  No unlock.  So I didn't put them all out and then consolidate.

VE
Velvetisis

Ok!  3rd unlock!  https://pastebin.com/BjNLb4Bq

Things that happened: Got 5 copncepts out not including the Id (the id came out but I immediately got rid of it with GFH then put it under a Robot with the Tiara).  Got 3 cards under each.  Once I did that I tried what I did before: Better punching power - cat head - get rid of one of the other concepts.  Power Phase - cat head - get rid of another concept - end phase super ego uses robot power.  No unlock.

So then I wanted to try keeping 3 concepts under each while I built up one of the robots.  I got to 7 under the robot before I tried a thing.  Better punching -> use a cat head on NOT a concept.  (BP goes under this cat head afterwards) Power Phase -> cat head again to get rid of not a concept.  End Phase Super ego uses a Karate Robot.  Argent Adept's turn next.  Use one of his powers to let Idealist use the power on Knives, then destroys an instrument to destroy the last Robot -> UNLOCK.

So! I propose!:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist play 5 or more concepts, 5 of which must also be Ongoings.  At least 12 cards must be put under concepts with at least 2 under each concept in play.  Then in one round, keeping at least 5 Ongoing Concepts in play, all cards must be removed from under all concepts.

Or more simply

In a game with Void Guard Idealist play 5 or more concepts.  At least 12 cards must be put under concepts with at least 2 under each concept in play.  Then in one round, keeping at least 5 Concepts in play, all cards must be removed from under all concepts.

Things to test against:

I started adding cards before trying to do stuff with Argent Adept, so try removing all cards in one round as soon as either:

  • 11/12 cards are under concepts
  • if only putting out 5 concepts when 3 cards are under each

Try playing more than 5 concepts and destroy one as part clearing out cards to see whether 5 concepts need to be kept in play or ALL concepts need to be kept in play.

That's all I can think of at the moment.  I'll be checking in tomorrow.  Maybe I can use my wife's steam account to get a 4th unlock >.>

I did a game where I got all the concepts out, put at least 15 fragments on the board (3 under each concept and Monster Id), then transferred them over to a Floaty Head. I used a Bored Now to keep the Id out of play after that, for the most part. Maybe something to the effect of:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist play 5 or more concepts.  At least 12 cards must be put under concepts with at least 2 under each concept in play.  Then in one round, keeping at least 5 Concepts in play, all cards must be removed from under all concepts. The Monster of Id cannot be in play.

Just to add my non-unlock game to the pile.

Idealist only played 6 cards total in this order: Stabby Knives, Monster of Id, Super Ego, Stabby Knives, Giant Floaty Head and Karate Robot. I used Idealist's base power to move fragments and only fragments underneath the concepts. Stabby Knives and Monster of Id traded fragments until at one point every concept had 2 fragments under it. Then I consolidated it under Monster of Id. Used Bored Now to destroy Monster of Id. No unlock.

Followed up by rewinding and putting some more fragments out to be swallowed up by Monster of Id until it had 15 under it, then used Bored Now. Still no unlock.

If the last theory is right, there's more to it than what we've seen so far.

It seems like if only 5 concepts come out the magic number to get under each is 3, but if it's six or more then the magic number is 2.  I have no idea why.

Edit: or rather, I've only tried to get unlocks with 5 concepts getting 3 concepts under each.  I haven't tried doing a combination of 2s and 3s. but the least amount of cards destroyed (as far as I am aware) is 12 under 6 concepts then being moved around.  When I did one of my unlock with 5 concepts I had 3 under each, only moved 6 out from under 2 concepts, then used powers on the remaining 3 concepts to clear them all out.  My other unlock with 5 I had 3 under each, moved 4 around, then used 3 powers on Idealist's turn and one power and destroyed a card on Argent Adepts turn to get the unlock.

So the least amount of cards gotten rid of is 12 under 6 concepts, and the least amount of cards moved is 4 with 5 concepts and 3 under each.

Slight change in case the wording needed to be more clear?  I dunno.

Edit, just to throw this in, in case it's super simple:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist 5 concepts must enter play and at least 1 card must be placed under each, with a total of more than 10 cards under all concepts.  Then all cards must be removed from under all concepts in one round.

Finally got the unlock. Built to 3 cards under 5 concepts, then tried the unlock in a few different angles. Removed all cards from under concepts in a single turn but if Id re-enters play mid-turn it didn’t count, which made it tricky, logistically, to explore the boundaries of “remove all cards” because Strained Superego allows a power after the draw phase but at this point all cards were in hand so Id always replayed itself before the final power wiped the third concept of cards. Finally with 14 cards under Id, 1 card under standby knives, played Bored Now to wipe Id then used power on Stabby Knives to wipe it, got the unlock after the entire power phase was resolved. There must be some clause that no new concepts may enter play, or all concepts in play must have had the equal share of cards under them at some point.

I played 5 concepts- Monster of Id, Headx2, Stabby knives and Karate Robot. Also Super Ego. Kept 1 card under each and then had 7 cards under Karate Robot. Then used America's Finest Legacy and Argent Adept to give Idealist multiple power uses and card plays to play Bored Now in one round. (on Legacy's and AA's turns) Monster of Id and one other concept was destroyed with Bored Now and power uses cleared off the other 3, including Karate Robot.

Besides those cards, I only played a few fragments to populate the concepts.

No unlock.

  • When cards are removed from under a Concept, does any part of the current board state outside of the Idealist's play area affect whether or not the condition is met?* No
  • Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect? No
  • Does the unlock require more than 5 concepts to have been put into play? No
  • Does the unlock require playing the tiara? No
  • Is there a minimum number of fragments in the final step of the unlock? No

I know, it’s frustrating. I’ve been trying random combos of Karate Robot first, Floaty Head second then just backing after every thing else after that. The other condition we semi know is that it triggers on her removing cards from under a concept, either by Destruction or Power Use.

I am looking at the 10 successful unlock logs that have been posted here. Right away, I see that Karate Robot is played in every single game. Considering that one of the hints given early on was that we have to form the body, does it not make sense that Karate Robot is a part of the unlock?

There’s more to it than that, but it seems like a good place to start.

Thematically, in most Sentai shows, the body of the mech is formed, the head is put into place, and then the mech's weapon is summoned for the fight.

It's silly and probably not important, but does the order the concepts being put into play follow any pattern in the sucessful unlocks?

I wonder if doing so (using a concept power before the big one) causes you to fail?

In one of my unlocks I used powers to clear cards out before hand.  FFor my third unlock I did:

>

> >

> >

This search has gone on so long, I feel like everyone's answer is some form of: 2 cards under very concept, move them under 1 concept, remove them from under that concept. And people just keep rehashing that same answer in some variety.

Problem is... every time I attempt that exact set up, nothing happens. And that answer also has nothing to do with "Build the body before the head."

I'm just frustrated with this one, I guess. Which makes me not even want to keep hunting the Writhe and Mainstay unlocks. Sorry for the non-helpful, whiny post.

We know a little bit more.  We know that only the Idealist matters (unless another hero gets the Mecha-Knight).  We know that it's based on any cards under the concepts, not just Fragments.  We know the Tiara isn't required.  And the most telling one is "Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?"  All our theories have required exactly that, so that has to be at least one part that we're screwing up.  Unfortunately we have zero counterexamples of an unlock achieved by any other method.

We have probably tried this... but could it be empty a Karate Robot with both a head and knives under it? I just got the unlock, but I was just playing and stacking everything I could think of. On iPhone, so can’t post log. I made sure I used the head and knives before I used the robot, and the robot had one copy of both head and knives under it when I hit it with a Bored Now.

There have definitely been unlocks without having concepts under concepts.  There have also been unlocks where only her base power is used.  Ericmo, how many cards did you have under each concept?  Did you move them between each other at all?  How many cards under KR when you used Bored Now? Did you only have the 3 concepts out at time of unlock?

Attempted an unlock run constantly rewinding and trying out multiple conditions with no success.

Finally unlocked her with what I think is the difference between my failed and successful run:

  • At least 5 (or H) Concepts must enter play with at least one card under it.
  • Then remove all cards under Concepts in play.

Some assorted notes:

  • The removal of cards under Concepts does not have to be the same turn or round, I removed all of my cards over two full rounds (villan to environment).
  • Before attempting to removing the cards under Concepts, I had 2 Heads, 2 Robots, 1 Knives and 1 Id in play with 2 cards under each non-Id Concept, and about 20+ cards under Id.
  • I removed the cards under concepts with a combination of moving cards (Superego, Id), using powers and unlocked it with using Bored Now on Id.

Ok, things I KNOW from my own unlocks and the Idealist Spreadsheet:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iSFjIwt4QAlNw2vvHOs7ae7mSJzoQoIGCiQn9NdemhY/edit#gid=2100095732

Can be done only using the base power

Can be done with any combination of fragments/not fragments under cards

Triggers after clearing all cards out from concepts

Does not require the Tiara.

The order in which concepts come out does not matter

Can be triggered without cards being moved by the Id

Can be triggered without cards being moved by Superego

Can be triggered without cards being moved by the Tiara

The fewest number of cards being moved between cards is only 2. (In both instances it seems like once with the Id and Once with Superego)

The fewest amount of cards cleared last that gave the trigger is 8.

The fewest number of total cleared cards total is 12.

An unlock has not happened with fewer than 5 concepts in play at time of unlock.

An unlock does not require more than 5 concepts to enter play.

There is not a minimum number of *fragments* required in the final step of the unlock.

Unlocks have happened when after getting concepts under cards they have been moved to a single card

Unlocks have happened when after getting concepts under cards they have been cleared out.

Also going back to my insufficiently worded question - "Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?"

I think maybe the catch is the word before.  I think the way forward now is that we need 5 concepts out with at least two cards under each.  As part of this set up some amount of cards need to be moved around.  We know it can be done without any single card that moves things, but there may be some required minimum combination of the 5 actions that 'move' the cards - Base power, playing a card, Tiara, Superego and Id.  There may be a required number of moves in one turn.  In all my unlocks I had at least one turn where 3 cards were moved.  Important though, in one of my unlocks this only happened once, so if it is a requirement it only needs to happen once.

So I'm going to propose:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist at least 5 concepts must enter play and at least 10 cards must be put under them.  At some point 3 cards must be moved under concepts in a single turn.  Then all cards must be cleared from under all concepts.

Good luck and good hunting!

Throwing more spaghetti onto the wall:

In a game with Void Guard Idealist 5 concepts must enter play and have 2 cards put under them.  Once a concept has 2 cards under it it can not leave play.  After this set up all cards must be cleared out from under all concepts.  At some point before clearing all cards from under Concepts 3 cards must be moved under cards in one turn.

Decided to replicate Ensign53's strat to see if it worked.  5 concepts out, 3 cards under each.  Got 11 stacked up under Karate Robot, left 3 under Giant Floaty Head, and one under a random one.  Used the primary power to clear 3 from head, moved the last from the random to Robot, and then used the bonus power from Strained Superego on Robot to clear all 12.  Worked a treat, achievement recieved when the last of Robot's stack was cleared.

Very little was happening for about 12 turns as I waited until all 5 concepts had 3 cards under them before moving things around with Strained Superego.  Basically had drawn the entire deck at that point, and was just skipping turns to get the moving done.

Done against Ambulscade in Freedom Tower, with Greatest Legacy, Team Lead Tachyon, Omnitron X, and of course Idealist.

Anyway, that seems a reliable way to unlock it. Log if it's helpful.

I've been noodling around with something.  So in one of the early unlocks it was assumed that turn order mattered (since someone unlocked it using Bored Now?) and in the successful logs that either put out 5 concepts with 3 cards or more than 5 with 2 cards there seems to take either a lot of time or a lot of card draw.  Maybe she needs to either draw every card in her deck or draw enough to shuffle her trash into her deck (those might mean the same thing >.>)?

I know in one of my games I managed to get the unlock in only 9 rounds, but even in that I went through her whole deck.

Just looked through all of the successful unlock logs on Velveltisis' spreadsheet, and all of them do show Idealist attempting to draw a card from her empty deck prior to the unlock. Time for a (admittedly stretching) theory!

Form The Body: Put out the concepts with fragments underneath them

Form The Head: Shuffle Idealist's Trash into her Deck through drawing cards OR have an empty trash and deck

Summon The Weapon: Do the thing with getting rid of fragments.

I didn't check for anything other than the drawing cards condition, but the results of checking the side-by-side logs hopefully help someone else examine them more closely.

Epiku, LockeNKant: Idealist had not shuffled her trash into her empty deck through drawing cards before a rewind caused by a failed unlock.

UXM266, Feral Yoda, young.haribo, Velvetisis#1, Velvetisis#2: Idealist had shuffled her trash into her empty deck through drawing cards before a rewind caused by a failed unlock.

I'm late to the party here.  I tried to read a lot of things, but I will have inevitably missed things, so apologies.

  • Does the unlock require the set up of x number of cards under concepts before being moved around by either the Monster of the Id, Strained Superego or similar effect?
  • MigrantP: "This question is too complicated so I need to think about whether it's yes or no. I recommend making your questions simpler. 'Cause, like, technically I have to say no because your question has too many qualifiers in it, so think about that! Make your questions more straight forward and you might get more information."

I saw someone wondering if the issue was the word "before" but honestly, as an outsider, the "or similar effect" seems to be the issue.  Since Monster of Id or Strained Superego are the only two ways to move cards, the "or similar effect" would also make the question a "no" answer.  The tiara places cards, but it doesn't move them, and I can't think of any other way to move cards.  It seems like everyone is placing concepts first and then moving them, so the before might be valid?  Though if people have played and moved concepts while getting the setup burst that leads to the unlock, I can see where the "before" might be the issue.

Have people played concepts and then not put anything under them?  Like, played 7 concepts, put cards under 3 of them but 4 of them were left empty?

Also, being new, I don't know how close we have to get the text for it to count.  Does it have to be exact?  Because Benchmark's formula is bonkers, and part of me wonders if that is part of the issue.  Like, maybe the two statements are close but the formulas are off?  Given that the number of concepts is between 5 and 7 but no less, that makes me wonder if the unlock has an H + 2 concepts aspect to it?  The reddit question about things outside Idealist's board state being a no (for now) implies that another player getting the Mecha Knight reward could affect the unlock, IMO.  But outside from that card being a concept, I'm not sure how else that would affect things.  The number of cards also seems odd... maybe there is an H x 4 minimum of cards that need destroyed during the last burst?

I haven't unlocked her yet, but I figured I would wait in case there is something useful I could test.

Success #4 for me: https://pastebin.com/KzC1Xerm

I'm at work, so I don't have time to comb through the log, but I did it using End of Days to clear out cards under concepts, it triggered after the last card was taken out, but before the rest of the destruction.  Big thing I'm noticing is that I had 4 concepts + the Id (total of 5) and used end of days 2 rounds in a row and rewound when it didn't work.  Putting out a 5th non-Id concept seemed to work?  It only ever got 1 card under it and was only around for the turn it came out, then Fanatic's, then it was cleared.

US
Usoki

Success for me!  I went with the End of Days route.  There's a lot of rewinding with EoD, but I think that was the only time I used rewind.  Five concepts in play, eleven fragments underneath the concepts.  Monster of Id never even made it out of the deck, which seems pretty huge.

The big tell here for me is that End of Days did NOT work until I played Strained Superego, and then moved one card.  Plus, I had to destroy only the fragments and not the concepts in order for End of Days to work.  When I pressed "choose for me" it would destroy some of the concepts first, and that did not cause the unlock.

There are two things I'm still uncertain about.  One, is it one turn?  One round?  Multiple rounds?  And Two, do you have to play at least one copy of each fragment?  I tried all fragments before trying a card move with Ego, so I'm not certain if that's required or not.  Given that you seem to need at least 10 fragments destroyed, I'm not sure if that matters.  On the other hand, maybe it's possible you only need one card under each concept for a total of 5 or 6?  Not sure, not sure.  But still.  Progress.

So my guess is this:

  • Play a match with a team including Void Guard Idealist. At least 5 concepts other than the Monster of Id must enter play, with at least 1 card under each concept. Strained Superego must move at least one card from one concept to another.  Then, in a single round, remove all cards from underneath all concepts in play, with all concepts remaining in play.

Cross-posting (ish) from the Discord...

If Strained Ego is not related to VG-I unlock, the fact that my unlock failed one turn and worked the next implies a minimum number of rounds again. Velvet and I both unlocked the variant on round 7, which is an oddly specific number. But I can't imagine a function of cards vs round, because I had 11 v 7, and one other unlock had 25 vs 15... and that's a big disparity.

So now we're back to something like... Play a match with a team including Void Guard Idealist. At least 5 concepts other than the Monster of Id must enter play, with at least 1 card under each concept. (At least one copy of each fragment must be under a concept?) Then, in a single round after round 6, remove all cards from underneath all concepts in play, with all concepts remaining in play.  I don't like that "single round after round 6" bit, but at the same time I'm not sure what condition it could be. I didn't have all fragments under a concept until during round six?  And also, another problem with that setup is that people who take the time to put the entire deck under the robot shouldn't be failing.  So maybe...

Play a match with a team including Void Guard Idealist. At least 5 concepts other than the Monster of Id must enter play.  At the end of a round, at least one copy of each fragment must be under a concept, with at least one card under each concept and at least 10 cards total under all concepts. Then, in the next round, remove all cards from underneath all concepts in play, with all concepts remaining in play.

So, End of Days proves that you don't need to remove all cards from under only one concept, which is a pretty big deal.

In my opinion, here are the questions that need resolved--

1. Can it be done without using either Superego or Id?  I didn't get my unlock until I used Ego to move a card, and Id never left the deck.  Other people have had Id in play, but never played Superego.  So in my mind, card movement has to occur, and the answer to this question is "no".  But if I'm wrong, this would be huge.

2. Can it be done with 10 or less cards?  And if so, what is the minimum?  A related question, do all 6 unique fragment types need to be under a concept?  The current lowest number is 11 cards removed.  If we're missing the guess because of card numbers, this would be good to know.

3. Can it be done in 6 rounds or less?  At current, the earliest unlock happened in round 7.  I'm not convinced that number of rounds is a part of the equation, but I could easily be wrong there.  It was a part of Mainstay's unlock, after all.

In looking at my breakdown of my 4th unlock I realized that the last non-id concept DID actually get 2 different cards under it.  I put a card under it, super ego moved it out, then I used the power on super ego to play another fragment and put it under the last non-id concept.  So at the moment I believe 2 cards per concept is a factor.

Something that occured to me that may account for the difference in some people getting the unlock when others have not is the way I tend to organize myself when I play.  I always put a card under an empty concept before putting one under a concept with cards under it already.  And I figured that may be a deciding factor, so I propose:

In a game with void guard idealist at least 5 non-id concepts must come into play and have 2 cards put under them. Cards must go under a non-id concept with no cards under it before being put under a non-id concept with cards already under it. At some point at least one card must be moved with either the super ego or the id. A non-id concept may not be destroyed once it has come into play. Then all cards must be cleared out from under all concepts.

that seems FAR too complicated and detailed for an unlock. Looking at previous unlock conditions, we can see that even characters like Benchmark and Doctor Medico didn’t have an unlock condition that detailed.

I’m still surprised Road Warrior Mainstay got figured out. “Wait 3 rounds” sounds simple, but it’s far, far harder to deduce than anything with an immediate cause and unlock relationship.

I don't know if a negative log is worthwhile at this stage, but here's mine: https://pastebin.com/Ty0yprrr

My aim was just to get a bunch of Concepts out, put 2 Fragments under each, then move them all to Monster of Id and Bored Now it out of play. Did that with little to no complications. No unlock.

Hints from tonight's Handelabra stream! I'm going to bed, so someone else can crosspost to Steam!

None of the cards in the Idealist's deck are mentioned by name in the condition.

The first part needs something to be true for a certain period of time.

Nothing has to happen all at once.

The community, especially with the work of Nyxious on Discord, has discovered the official unlock condition for Void Guard Super Sentai Idealist.

First, 5 Concepts must be in play with at least 2 cards under each of them for at least 2 rounds. Then, in the same game, 5 Concepts must be in play and no Concept may have a card under it.

Hooray! I was starting to lose hope we’d ever see a solution to this one!

...It's very strange to see "here's a bunch of hints" followed immediately by "here's the answer!" XD Good work, just Writhe to go!

Funny, it’s like the Mainstay unlock. People here proposed conditions that were pretty much right except that there was no mention of duration for cards under concepts. Much focus on maybe moving cards back and forth and no inkling that it was about time.
