Hi all, not sure which would best forum for this, but here seems good.

I was playing the app on my ipad yesterday, here was the game:

Gloomweaver (Challenge Mode)

Madame Mittermeir's

Bunker (Engine of War); Captain Cosmic (Prime Warden); Chrono-Ranger; Expatriette.

Since I am in challenge mode, I am expecting that I need to just push through, do 90 to Gloomweaver, than another 40, and stay alive in the process.  I get Gloomweaver down and...here is where things are hazy, because suddenly, when I expect him to flip, the game declared it a Victory for me and ended.

I think the card in Madame that makes "Villain" "Hero" was in play, and there was one relic in play (not sure which one).  I wish I could remember exactly what other cards were in play, but any thoughts on what might have happened?   It happened so suddenly I was startled, it seemed like a bug, but maybe it wasn't?  The only thing I can think of is some kind of discard effect put all three relics in his trash, but a) I'm pretty sure as I said a relic was in play and b) it happened the moment he flipped, not at the start of his turn.

Anyway, any thoughts?  If its a bug I should report it, but I don't have enough details really to be helpful, and their could be an obvious cause on the cards themselves that I am missing.

It is correct. Challenge mode says "Villain relics are indestructible." It says nothing about GloomWeaver doing anything different when reduced to 0 hp. So as normal GloomWeaver goes kaput when you get him to 0 hp, so does Challenge GloomWeaver.

Challenge mode is harder because you can't get rid of the relic effects which are quite nasty. Also, it makes GloomWeaver easier to flip as you can't prevent 3 relics going into play, and flipped GloomWeaver is much nastier than front side GloomWeaver.

None of those heroes have Relics. The only heroes with Relics are Fanatic and NightMist. However, that Madamme Mittermeir card does not change the owner of the card, just changes villain to hero on hero cards.

Confratulations, you beat Challenge GloomWeaver fair and square.

All Gloomweaver’s challange mode does is make his Relics Indistructible. It doesn’t change the normal win condition of reducing him to 0 HP.
I’m confused why you thought he would flip at 0 since challenge mode says nothing like that.

Gloomweaver doesn’t flip when he’s reduced to 0 hp. He exclusively flips when all 3 relics are in play. You haven’t been playing that way with the other villains, have you?

Of course you are confused, because I was totally confused about the darn card right from the get go!

In other words, I'm an idiot, nothing to see here, folks, move along…

Thanks for the quite kind replies given the bone-headedness of my initial post.

Trust me, we've all done bone-headed things playing this game.

Like playing End of Days on the Dreamer's flip side.

Twice.

The Staff of Ra is also a Relic.

Also Lifeline and Mainstay (although, granted, neither of them are in the video game yet)
