I feel like we have done this one before :P

So same set up as last week apart from the fact BB is in challenge mode this time.

As a suggestion Flesh of the Sun God is super important this game... so try the card draw power, not the summon staff turn 1.

The Barons opening salvo is less bad than it seems. Especially seeing as he then sends out a load of targets along with the environment that if somehow you manage to get them all to 5 or below ... you then feed to haka for a win the turn after he flips...I don't know how I did that.

Mint with everyone in the high teens apart from Tempest because he was the whipping boy and at around 6 HP.

Holy crap that's a scary opening salvo! 8 damage to every hero and 10 cards (out of the 15 he needs) in the trash? 11 by the time you get the mobile platform down?

I decided this was a "screw defense, just pound him" game. And to my mild surprise, it worked. I ended at 6/7/11/0/5 with a mint. He had 12 cards in his trash by then.

I'd lost Fanatic by her use of Divine Sacrifice but her incap ability turned out to be the final blow. She directed all hero damage to a single target and then Tempest unleashed an Imbued Fire Ice Storm that sent 12 damage to him in a single shot.

Surprisingly straightforward once I calmed down about that opening.

The moment I saw that first Hasten Doom, I thought, great, he's gonna play them all. And I was close to being right. :P

But other than the hair-raising opening, a fairly comfortable, if nerve-wracking, Mint. Just be willing to take a lot of damage (Twist the Ether on Blade is great), because you ain't got time to deal with his crap.

Very comfortable Mint.  Twist the Ether on Blade, used Flesh of the Sun God every turn == Blade can't hurt us.  Then just have to deal with dinosaurs.

Mint.

Throw the damage around!  I didn't use Flesh of the Sun God, but I did Twist the Ether on Blade.  Key for big damage was putting Embolden on Tempest with Gene Bound Shackles and Grievous Hailstorm. That with Tempest's Lightning Slash does LOTS of damage. Ra did lots of damage, too...that's what Ra does.

Haka's Rampage ended it.

Visionary 6HP, Ra 6HP, Haka 5HP, Fanatic 1HP, and Tempest 4HP.

Baron Blade Beatdown Part Deux
I like the intro text, and from that knew that A. We'd have a worse starting draw for Heroes, B. Baron Blade would do one of his massive chain plays and C. It was challenge mode so even flipping him wouldn't save us from the Impulsion Beam.

A. wasnt as big an issue as I was expecting, but B. definitely was :D

Decided to just full-on smackdown Blade, ignoring everything else including the HP of the heroes. Worked him down to flip pretty quickly through the Backlash Field, and once he was Fanatic Wrathful Retribution'ed him down far enough for Tempest to finish him.

All heroes were less than 10, but I could have taken another round or two if needed before either they died or Blade got the 15 cards he needed in the trash.

I hate when Backlash Field comes out when I'm going with the all-out damage approach... unless Flesh of the Sun God + Twist the Ether comes out.

Comfortable mint.  Still just 10 cards in his trash (thanks, Suggestion), only two heroes barely in single digits, the rest in the high teens.  Only Visionary got much use out of her inherent power, Ra only used his once, and Tempest used his twice but only as his Empowered power.  Otherwise it was Mere, Absolution, and Grievous Hail Storm all day.  Rampage + Imbued Fire + Flesh of the Sun God is glorious.  Blade was finished off by a velociraptor pack, always my favorite way to win.

Mint. More challenging than last week for sure, but still just piled on damage. Was getting a little low on some of them, but ended very quickly after flipping with a big hit from Fanatic’s divine judgement and with Ground Pound stopping all damage I just had everyone pile on to finish Blade. Didn’t bother with Flesh of the Sun God, but did Twist the Ether on Blade anyway just to reduce his damage a bit, but didn’t have too much to worry about.

Easy mint, despite that brutal start.

Challenge Blade isn’t really all that much tougher than regular Blade unless your team is light on damage. Plenty of damage here.

Despite the suggestion in the first post, I summoned the staff again on turn 1, but got Flesh of the Sun God anyway. Which was pretty much all Ra ever used, because I used Twist the Aether + Flesh of the Sun God to neuter Backlash Field. Normally I’d rather just blow it up, but I didn’t draw any ongoing destruction. That this also neutralized Blade’s damage on his flip side was nice too.

One stupid mistake on my part: Flesh of the Sun God + Imbued FIre gimps Xtreme Fanatic’s redirection of AoE damage to Blade. I tried Divine Sacrifice with her base power redirecting damage to Blade, but could only get 1 hit in, because all other targets were immune to fire.

Still, Blade went down easily with only 10 cards in his trash, and only Tempest in single digits. Basically, he got savaged by the second Velociraptor attack because there were no Blade minions to attract their attention.

Near mint.

flesh of the sun god combined with imbued fire and twist the ether. A cake walk.
