Progeny vs. Vanilla Freedom 5 in Megalopolis, with a random start.
Random start makes it hard to say much about strategy beyond ‘try not to die.’ Personally I got a very nasty start, with two rounds in a row where I couldn’t play any cards. Eventually got set up and minted, but it was a near-run thing!
Good luck!

Mint. Got a pretty good start with 2 x Scion of Blight. Wraith quickly got her eye piece out and that comfortably controlled Progeny’s out put until I’d built up a little. I avoided too many early attacks to avoid too much discarding and waited paintently for a card to destroy his ongoing that makes his damage irreducible and -1 damage to him. Then I hit him with a couple of big Blitz’s and a 20 damage Omnicannon shot which left him low enough to mop up in the next round. Had several turns where he couldn’t do damage between Tachyon’s Hypersonic Assault and Wraith’s throat punch so every one finished in the teens.

Rare mint for me. Legacy died early on, which I thought would make things difficult, but his incap ability of someone using a power was super-useful, letting Wraith use the Eyepiece to see what was coming, then Stun Bolt and Stealth on her own turn. Monorails helped a lot, too.

Yeah this is just the quick set up for FV unlocks which is very useful. Started with 2 eyepieces and the lead from the front / Fortitude combo. Didn't see Next evolution till the last 10 cards in Legacy's deck though so was a fun game yoyoing around 10 HP for everyone but AZ. Not much more I can say beyond mint. Have done this game so many times now in the hunt for the AZ unlock I am glad I can quick load it now.

Oh boy, it's that thing I had to do again and again and again until I was sick of it! >:V
At least that means I know how to deal with Progeny using the Freedom Five. :B Remember, Eyepiece is the key to winning, kids!

Mint.
Pretty standard Progeny game, with some of the heroes not making it...
Absolute Zero chose to damage race rather than heal, and so went down, but dealt lots of damage doing so, and Tachyon fell near the end.
But between Wraith's Throat Jabs and Stun Bolts, Progeny's damage was otherwise kept in check, and the heroes prevailed!
Legacy 11HP, Bunker 10HP, Wraith 12HP and Tachyon and Absoute Zero incapped.

Minty with everyone near 12 hp.
Slow start, between the environment and Progeny's "Can't do stuff" cards, but wasn't taking much damage because he kept blowing up his scion cards. Hypersonic, Adhesive Grenades, Heroic Interceptions, and Take Downs eventually reversed the position to where Progeny couldn't do anything and I was plinking away at him, building up Tachyon's Trash and an Omni-cannon for the big Pew Pew! turns I like.
Couldn't find an Infra-Red for most of the game, so actually got a lot of use out of Stun Bolts and Smoke Bombs. Especially if you drop someone to less than 10 and he stops dealing lots of AoE damage, tries to focus one person down, and it gets redirected :)

Mint due to a lucky starting deal.
I started with Hypersonic Assault, Throat Jab, Adhesive Foam, and Infrared Eyepiece. Then Legacy drew Heroic Interception on the first turn. I also lucked out that the environment was benign until the next to last round with Hostage Situation finally came out.
I still ended with Legacy at 1, with everyone else between 12 and 14, but having a couple of turns where he couldn't damage me to let everyone get their equipment out really helped.

Opening: dual Scions of Frost.
Environment's first two turns: Hostage Situation (I hate that card so much.)
Somehow, I minted, though Tachyon only got one turn where she did anything, because she went down before her second card play.

Opened Blight / Obvious Futility. Legacy started with Lead from the Front, Fortitude, and Next Evolution. Wraith started with Impromptu Invention and got the Eyepiece going. Bunker... was Bunker, he sat there drawing cards and shutting down the environment. AZ got set up in 3 rounds and started bringing pain. Tachyon got Research Grant out early and started plowing through her deck.
Three rounds of no environment plays + two Impending Casualties, three rounds of Progeny being unable to do damage, and one round of Progeny being unable to play cards, I was pretty much fully set up and had buried both copies of Beginning of the End. He never had a chance. Tachyon did 60 damage across her two final turns and AZ kept piling on. Final HP 27 / 14 / 26 / 29 / 21, and most of the damage to Tachyon was self-inflicted.

Surprisingly easy mint.
Progeny is usually a huge pain, but Legacy had 2 Take Downs at the start, and by the time those wore off, Wraith had an eyepiece out. That let me bury anything truly nasty, like The Beginning of the End. Buried that one twice, actually.
With time to set up and no equipment or ongoing destruction, the Absolute Zero started handing out ridiculous damage. Oh, the others helped, but mostly it was Thermal Shockwave + Galvanize + Focused Aperatures + transducers doing 10+ damage a turn. The last turn the Plummeting Monorail turned up, which was just an extra target for AZ to use to boost the fire damage he was doing that turn.
I did a lot of stupid stuff, like forgetting that I had Heroic Interception in play when playing Hoarfire or that Close Quarters Combat meant Absolute Zero’s self-harm was actually self-harm and nothing else, but it was still a comfortable victory with everyone in their mid-teens.

Near mint. Got a pretty good start and was able to set up az super quickly, leading to me tanking progeny. Ironically, things got harder after I removed the card that got rid of my cards whenever I hurt progeny.

The Scion of Blight is surprisingly often his least bad scion. Sure, discards are bad, but the others are worse: play a extra card every round, do +1 damage to all attacks, heal 2 damage a turn (effectively 2 Damage Resistance). I suppose you could argue the Fire Scion and +1 damage is weaker, but Progeny has a lot of “hit everyone” attacks and “do 1 point of multiple type” cards that get effectively doubled with a Fire Scion in play.

dide, one you get AZ set up and lot’s of cards out the healing is literally nothing. The discard card thing, though, that’s murder. Expecially witb AZ in your party (it’s heaven if your playing tachyon though.)
