First off, hi. Didn't see an "introduce yourself" thread if there is one.
Second, wasn't sure if this was the place to discuss the PC port of the card game, the one I just Kickstartered, or both.
So, a couple thoughts after playing the game for 50+ hours now.
- This game and the setting are totally badass, and I want, if not the real card game, the Tabletop RPG at least.
- Don't know if it's in a future expansion, and don't have the real card game to know if there's one in it. We've got Wagner Mars Base, and we've got Omnitron IV, but there's no "Just Somewhere Out In Space Fighting Aliens and Spaceships" environment that I'm aware of. If it doesn't exist, the game needs one.
- Naturally, one of the things that happens getting into a game like this is Headcanon; you start making your own issues of Sentinel Comics in your head, and your own superteams and story and such. I notice that it's hard to put together 5-man groups for such stories. So, if I want to do a 5-man "The Deep Space characters have a story together" or "All the Time-Travelers," or "Batman-level types," I generally end up having an Odd Man Out. Or something really detailed, like, "The immortal characters face a problem at the end of time that ends up reverberating into the past, so the one who goes back in time has to go get help from the past and solve the problem in the past and the future together." Can't expect the devs to think of everything, naturally; and that 5th spot is a good place for Guise "just show up, for some reason," so it works well with him, but I can't find any good 5ths to round out a team like that. I've got a Justice League of Ame, here. One Avenger who's gotta Assemble all by himself.

Welcome.
There is no space ship environment but the enviornments in Wrath of the Cosmos may scratch some of that itch (Dok'Thorath Capital where the players are fighting on the Thorathian homeworld, although tyhat's more a civil war enviornment and Enclave of the ednlings where you're fighting a lot of weird aliens).
You might enjoy the App/Steam port of the card game by Handelabra.

Thanks. That was sort of my first question: Whether, by the title "The Video Game," this forum is about the Handelabra one, the one by Underbite, both, or if there's a third one of which I'm unaware.

This subforum has been specifically focused on the Handelabra port of the card game. Right now the only representation of the Underbite game is a couple of threads on a different subforum. I'm sure once it's out (or maybe closer to release?) there will be more activity regarding Sentinels of Freedom.

Welcome to the forums!
Celestial Tribunal (currently in progress on the digital version) is at least an environment that is a spaceship. That might work? It's more about fighting judgmental robots than aliens, though. :B Dok'thorath is probably the closest to what you're talking about, otherwise.

As for your “odd man out” comment, there’s no reason every game has to have five heroes. Four works just as well, and many of the “canon” battles have four or even three heroes. Three is usually more of a challenge (except against Miss Information and The Dreamer), but is certainly manageable.
Also, except for the Celestial Tribunal and Completionist Guise, everything in the physical card game is in the video game at the moment. That’ll change in about a month when OblivAeon starts shipping, though!

If you use enough variants, you can do some good five-person teams, as well.
Deep Space: Captain Cosmic, Sky-Scraper, Rogue Agent KNYFE, Fugue State Parse, and Tempest make a good set of five. And all of them canonically had a lot of space adventures!
Time-Travel: The Visionary, Omnitron-X, Chrono-Ranger, The Eternal Haka, and Team Leader Tachyon could be time travellers (since it's an older Tachyon from the future and all). Or you could use the fifth slot for Requital Captain Cosmic for the same reason. I had a time-travelling team in one game from the Dark Future, made up of Dark Conductor Argent Adept, Requital Captain Cosmic, Best of Times Chrono-Ranger, The Visionary, and Omnitron-X.

Sentinels of Freedom is past the destruction of the Multiverse, so SotM no longer applies; therefore, this subforum is just about the game from Handelabra. Once Sentinels of Freedom is created I'm sure it will have its own subforum.
Also, all of the content for the game is already complete, so unfortunately there will not be any "new" decks added (just the ones that are already complete but yet to be released).

Welcome,
like the others said this is about the handelabra game.
Quick heads up about time travel and heroes who do it: it’s really confusing. Except for chrono ranger. He makes sense some how. Because he’s just that cool.

I think I fixed your temporal conjugations for you.
Or maybe I will fix them…
