Well, that one was fun the second time. You have Ultimate Deadline vs FV Tachyon, Omnitron, FS Parse, Nightmist, Knife in Silver Gultch.

I got a Near Mint... only barely. Both time Nightmist killed herself to psychic damage on villain turn 3.

However, I didn't fall into the hypersonic assault trap the second time around after the aggressive opening.

I am willing to hear there is a better way to do this beyond the Knife punches him so hard game but that seemed to work for me.

Fine. D: There's so much potential for shuffling and reordering decks, it's hard to know what you'll get when. Winning move was Buffer Overflowing an Unnatural Disaster. Took him out with super-boosted Battlefield Tactics, and only Tachyon was down.

Comfortable Mint here for me, with everyone either in high single digits or low double digits at the end. There's really not much to say about it other than punch Deadline's scaly face hard and fast, and he'll go down before you do.

In my case, the key to taking him down, aside from going for as much damage as possible as fast as possible was mist-binding him with Nightmist and having Parse stack his deck, keeping him to only playing Disasters, which are far too slow to help him in this race.

Aside from his opening flip, he never got to flip again, and I only had to eat the punishing infernal damage once (which could have been completely avoided if I hadn't wasted Hypersonic Assault in turn one) for taking out the two disasters he played in turn 3 (he was Mistbound for turn 2, played two new disasters in turn 4 and was dead before he got to turn 5).

Mint.

Somehow (mostly by KNYFE punching hard), I managed to get Deadline down to 40HP. At that time, I had set up: (1) several Critical Multipliers on KNYFE, (2) a Kinetic Neutralizer out for KNYFE, (3) a Targeting Arrow on Deadline, and (4) an Explosives Wagon teetering on 1HP, and (5) 2 Synaptic Interrruptions on Tachyon.

I didn't math it all out beforehand, but I guessed it would work....Nightmist went into Mist Form, just in case it didn't.

KNYFE first hit Deadline with Amplified Combatant (for a total of somewhere around 15 damage), then targeted the Wagon. It blew, and with Tachyon's redirects and then KNYFE's base power, it wasn't quite enough to end the game, but on Tachyon's next turn, she did a 3 card Blitz (with Targeting Arrow still applied) and that was the end.

Tachyon 12 HP, Omnitron-X 11HP, Parse 8HP, Nightmist 17HP and KNYFE 11HP.

Owww!

Mint, but barely. Parse, Nightmist, Tachyon all incapacitated. Omnitron at 1. K.N.Y.F.E. at 3.

I started off hitting him with the Hypersonic Assault, which may have been too early. Then I nuked a couple of disasters to slow him down and just absorbed the damage.

But then... the Environment played Explosives Wagon and he immediately played his second Unnatural Disaster.

Unnatural Disaster brings out four catastrophes and then he flips. On the flip side, he immediately destroys the Wagon and all heroes do 1 to themselves. The wagon promptly does another 6 to everyone. Then he destroys his disasters and does another 4 to everyone. So every hero absorbed 11 points of damage in a single shot.

I limped through that to have his next play be Auto-Armor Caster, which is indestructible. So I had to hit him twice every turn to do any damage (and only on the second shot). by then, Nightmist was down and Tachyon followed the next turn, so I used their incap abilities to feed and play K.NY.F.E. cards that did multiple types of damage. I got lucky and dropped him just before he would've finished me (no way I could've survived the next round).

I think one thing that helped earlier on was using Omnitron's natural ability to play Tachyon cards. When it was clear she was gonna die, I used her Blitz ability and had enough in her trash to do some serious damage.

Mint with everyone mid-teens *Shrug*

I dunno why I had such an easier game than everyone else, but my game was basically what Demiher0 said, the "KNYFE punches Deadline a lot" game. Since it is Ultimate I knew that I just had to burn him down before the Armor-Caster came out, so thats what I focused on.

Didn't play Hypersonic turn one as he had just flipped anyway and wanted to save it for later. Parse got out Updated Intel and just used it on Deadline to feed Disasters to the top of his deck to keep devices from coming out. Omni fed KNYFE card plays, KNYFE punched Deadline. Then punched him some more. Then used some energy enhanced punches on him, just to keep things interesting.

Near the end, I was even hitting Tachyon and Nightmist with KNYFE's AoE punches, just to redirect it to Deadline to punch him more. Ended when Deadline tried to Terraform an explosives wagon and it blew up in his face.

Near Mint with everyone dead except Nightmist, who survived a second set of catastrophes using Mist Form and hit Oblivion, redirecting the self-damage with Amulet. VERY lucky that Parse’s uncap lets someone play an extra card, which allowed me to get Amulet out.

Near mint.

First game I underestimated how much burning Catastrophes was going to hurt my team. My take is that you have to let him have his disasters unless you’ve got Hypersonic Assault out, because the infernal retaliation damage he does is just too much otherwise.

Second game I just gave up on doing anything defensive and had KNYFE punch face. I thought I’d lost when armor auto-caster came out, but I managed it anyway. Critical Multiplier is fairly nullified by the Armor Auto Caster, except I managed to wiggle around it. Snap Decision let me play targeting arrow at the start of her turn, which turned off the auto-caster for the rest of her turn, and then she used Syntax to let KNYFE play twice, which meant she got the damage bonus from Critical Mulitiplier.

At the end everyone but Nightmist was down to single digit HP, and KNYFE was down to 1 HP. Which was one reason I couldn’t play cards like Incidental Contact, she’d kill herself doing it.

I’m not a big fan of damage-race games like this setup.

Mint. Everyone low on health, but KNIFE finished Deadline off at the end of the 3rd round.

Extra Card plays on KNIFE just chewed through him very quickly.

So were my references too subtle this time? Great Scott! =)

The heroes just need to find a way to get that train to 88 mph, right?

Oh, well.

I’m going to make like a tree and get out of here.
