Random Start so what I tell you won't matter. But Challange Mode Ambuscade in Wagner Mars Base.
With A Super Scientist a Chrono Ranger, G.I Bunker and Parse on your team you should be able to deal with most of what the mad Frenchman will throw your way. I had a lot of luck that the turn where he hit all his traps... I was hiding behind a meteor storm and then punched him for 40 so ... It was fun.

Mint, but it wasn't easy. All I had left was Tachyon with 2 HP and just enough Burst in her trash to Lightspeed him down.
I tell ya, nothing makes me shake harder than seeing "Challenge Ambuscade" alongside "Random start". D:

Mint.
Tachyon was a one-woman army, playing Hypersonic Assault three rounds in a row, successfully experimenting on herself every round, and inspired by Mirai Nagasu, landing a triple Lightspeed Barrage for full technical points.
Chrono-Ranger quickly slapped bounties on Ambuscade, which added to Tachyon's display of force and grace. Bunker and Parse hung out on the sidelines, leading the Mars Base scientists in the "U-S-A, U-S-A" chant.
After his defeat, Ambusdace slipped away swearing that next time, a different Red, White and Blue flag would be on top of the Mars Base Medal stand.
HP at end: Tachyon 15HP, Chrono-Ranger 15HP, Bunker 18HP, Parse 11HP.

Mint with everyone close to 10 hp. Not a lot I can say to help since its random start but oh well.
Notable things:
I hate it when you kill the cloaking device and he pulls it right back out the next round, 3 times in a row...
However, a Metor Storm right before a chain of about 5 cards is quite nice.
And CR shooting Ambuscade with a Neuro-Toxin dart while hes invisible/immune to damage just to get the damage dealt reduction? How does that work? Does CR just break a dart open and throw the toxin capsule into the room he thinks Ambuscade is in, hoping he breathes some of it in? :D

Mint. 1,2,3,3, and 3 damage was coming to the last three.
Ultimate Target with Ambuscade at 2, FTW.
2 Fires in the Biosphere, a turn 1 Rocket launcher, and a Sonic Mine made this a bigger damage race than it could have been.
Charged Attacks would have killed me.

Mint, but it took forever.
Tachyon was incapacitated during the second villain turn and all other heroes were in single digits.
Luckily, the environment played Meteor Storm which left me unlimited time to set up, heal, and use deck control. When I was finally ready I destroyed Meteor Storm and the Cloaking Device in one round and had the villain and environment decks manipulated. The following round I had Parse ready to deal 50+ damage from built up critical multipliers, but I was able to defeat Ambuscade prior to her turn.

Mint and like dandolo took forever.
first 30 minuetes ambuscade revealed a few traps, and devices but nothing i couldn't handel and i got him below 10 hp. Then he had one of his play all the cards reveal all the traps and then vanish turns which left tacyhon up with 1 hp and everyone else incaped. Thankfully a Meteor storm poped up to which i spent then next 3 hours getting the set up of both maintenance levels, 2 oxygen leaks, 3 synaptic interuptions, having enought environment cards to wipe abuscades board, at least one villainous weaponry's to redirect sonic mine to the other sonic mine, and knowing that the second meteor storm would be one of the three cards played, and a lightning reflexes and 3 LSB with all but said 3 SI in the trash, and charged attacks not in play. Once I had this set up I would be ok to take him down as long as he didn't play vanish, or a reactive plating. So of course he runied this by playing those cards the first 3 times i got this set up requiring me to reshuffle my deck to get my blinding speed's to remove the charged attacks that would come back out.
Eventually got it set where all that was true and i experimented on ambuscade to discard a plating and one shot so he only played a turret and then proceded to punch him in the face really fast and really hard, then let him fall due to a lack of oxygen that would have taken taychon out as well if she wasn't back on earth already eating a sandwich.

Mint. Ambuscade opened Mine / Hand-Cannon / Cloaking Device, then played Charged Attacks. Tachyon blew up Charged Attacks and used her base power on Parse, which gave me Gauge and Buffer Overflow. Chrono-Ranger put Kill on Sight on the Cloaking Device, Bunker shot it with Flak Cannon, and Parse Recompiled her hand.
The environment played Meteor Storm turn 1 and Ambuscade played most of his deck afterward (Armed and Dangerous into Armed and Dangerous into all of his traps), eventually leaving him with 9 cards in deck. Two of them were Vanish, two of them would reshuffle trash into deck, and the other five were either devices or one-shots like Snatch and Grab.
From there, I said “screw it” and hid behind Meteor Storm. Tachyon played Research Grant and started burning through her deck with passed powers from Parse. Chrono-Ranger and Bunker got out as much equipment as possible in case of Pervasive Red Dust. Parse sifted Ambuscade’s deck and buried both of his trash-into-deck reshuffles.
When I had two turns left before a guaranteed Ambuscade reshuffle, I knew Snatch and Grab was coming, so I played Adhesive Foam Grenade, destroyed Meteor Storm, finished off the cloak, let him wail on me with all his devices for one turn, then Tachyon played a triple Lightspeed Barrage to one-turn-kill him.
Most use I’ve ever had out of Gauge.

Near mint.
I got rocked the first game. He just kept playing cards until half his deck was out and my whole team was less than 50% health. Then Tachyon Experimented her way into a Sucker Punch that had to destroy one of his mines.
He finished me off his second turn.

Mint. Ambuscade didn't chain anything until the very last round, and while the Cloaking Device came out once, it just as quickly went away. That last round killed off Chrono-Ranger, but he'd already done the bulk of the shooting, fully set up with a Hunter and Hunted, Masada, and 5 Contracts. Ambuscade was slaughtered by a 12 card Lightspeed Barrage moments later.

I was wondering how people kept getting hit by all of his traps, because normally when I play Ambuscade, only one or two of them ever trigger.
Then I realized I've apparently never played Challenge Ambuscade before.
Although I got super lucky in my practice game and still never saw any traps. So of course that luck's gonna run out when I play the actual one-shot. Isn't that how it works, Setback?

Mint. All heroes abve 10HP
I was lucky a Meteor Storm hit right when 3 traps came out.
Best advice I can give is get the neuro toxi dart. Reduce the damage from AMbuscade and the devices as much as possible.

Near Mint because I was stupid and left Charged Attacks out at a very inopportune time. Otherwise, the Meteor Storm grind works really well here. Took out the Cloak, used Buffer Overflow to keep it from coming back out on the next turn, and hit him with a 67-point Omni-Cannon.

I destroyed Charged Attacks, and he brought it back out the next turn. Then he hit me with 3 traps at once and TPKd us. Blech.

Near Mint. Both games saw him playing 3 traps in set up as well as the launcher... First game I spent the whole first round killing the launcher only for him to play Stim Patch, shuffle and play the launcher again. Everyone was wiped out in short order.
Next game the set up was still pretty brutal, but calmed down a bunch after that. Still got hit really hard and ended up with most everyone with 2-3 health...

Mint, but it was close - everyone was at 6 or less HP. I used Meteor Storm to prep, popped it with Tachyon, blew up the cloak and all of his gear, and was set to kill him on the next turn... but he chained a trap and a Vanish and flipped back to invisible, then blew the crap out of my team while I reeled. I had to burn through a chunk of my prep to flip him back, then Tachyon dropped a 12-pt Lightspeed and Bunker dropped a 40-pt Omni-Cannon and we killed him.

Mint, but no real issue. Everyone focused on taking out his devices in the first rounds, even though both reactive plates came out and his cloaking device popped up two turns in a row. I used Lightning Barrage on the cloaking device on one turn just to get it out of the way. Chrono-Ranger used "Just Doing my Job" to get set up pretty well so by the time I could finally focus on Ambuscade, he had his hat, Compound Bow, Hunter and Hunted and a handful of bounties out which made it easy to do 20+ damage in a turn. Parse had Snap Decision, Recompile and Critical Multiplier to add her own fair share of damage. Parse also gave Chrono-Ranger extra power plays so Ambuscade quickly fell down after that. Everyone was in their teens.
