Over on Reddit someone noticed five new achievements got added to Steam: BOT Chrono, Extremist Sky, Requital Cosmic, Unleashed Visionary, and Conductor Argent.
(Interesting catch, since on Android the new achievements are all marked as "Secret".)
Not too surprising since we've seen the first four previewed already, just not Morally Ambiguous Anthony yet.

Yeah, not surprising, and probably a hiccup on their end to not make those secret. Not that we couldn't guess anyway, since we have indeed seen most of them already. I figured the Freedom Five would be the last of the Fall of the Variants to go up, and that leaves only Setting Sun Ra unaccounted for (who would also probably be released late).

"Not too surprising since we've seen the first four previewed already, just not Morally Ambiguous Anthony yet."
Am I the only one who paused the replay of Tuesday's stream when they had the screen of variants open to turn off XPW Tempest? I didn't bother mentioning it since I figured I couldn't be the only person to notice it.
(Edit - not the YouTube replay but the saved stream version on Twitch as that's the one with John's screen)

Except for Dark Conductor Argent Adept all of those have been shown on SentinelsLive and they posted an update to the app today so I don't think this was really that much of a hiccup if at all.

I think it's been seen on stream before but not often. I'm a beta tester so that screen isn't anything new to me.

@WalkingTarget: They hinted that Argent's variant was ready when John picked regular (or was it XPW?) Argent offscreen a couple weeks back, but he hasn't actually been actually played on the stream yet like the other four have.

Ok, I haven't been able to catch all the streams or even catch up later recently and only caught this week's by chance. That was the only one in the menu that was news to me, but if nobody else was talking about it being "leaked" by that screen I figured it had already been shown at some point that I'd just missed.

I guess I should have made it more clear that by "previewed" I meant "actually played on the stream".

I'm hoping Chrono or Sky-Scraper are the first two, so each released hero thus far has at least one variant to play with.
Also, really want to play more Best-of-Times Chrono.

The achievements are hidden on Steam, but there are unauthorized tools you can use to find them out.
I may be willing to be influenced on the variant schedule in exchange for pie... π

Well, it also leaves Completionist Guise out in the cold. Poor guy. (Poor Guise?)
(And I guess Cleverest Legacy, but he's not a real variant, so… I just wish he was! It would bring the total number of hero variants to an even 100.)

They said they'll be releasing one variant a week for the rest of the year, except the last week. That's enough to cover all but one of the potential variants. Completionist Guise will be the one ommitted, I'm sure, since his collection can't be complete.
The new update required that I redownload Season Pass 2 for some reason. I can't think of anything in there that would require it--none of the heroes in it are getting any more variants, and Challenge Mode doesn't exist for the Villains villains. Odd.

The achievements are hidden on Steam, but visible if you go to the global achievements tab... that doesn't feel right.
More troublesome is that "Battle-Tested" has only been completed by 43% of players, which is saddening.

Despite the fact that I've downloaded both season passes, the game keeps sending me to the Redownload screen every time I boot the app. Works fine when I back out from that screen, but it takes a minute to process the command to back out. Anyone else seeing this behavior on iOS?

If I start the app the purchase menu appears and I have to go back to see the start screen.
I opened the app only once after the update and afaik it didn't took a minute to go back but I agree that the button wasn't responsive.

It's supposed to only do that if you're purchasing an IAP directly from the App Store. I'll get a quick fix in to stop it doing that for now.

So I'm pretty sure I just love everything about Dark Conductor Argent Adept. The domineering nemesis dialogue. The over-the-top pipe organ scare chord SFX. How his under-10-HP portrait goes "Pfft, Dark Vis, let me show you what a REAL slasher smile looks like." The Anne Rice-flavored 2edgy4u incap portrait.

So, just got the app update on my phone. 6 new achievements, and it didn’t require redownloading the season passes.
Looks like our next six are Freedom Five and Setting Sun Ra, with Completionist Guise as possibly the last variant of the year. (All depends on if there’s a stream the week between Christmas/New Year’s)

They said there wouldn’t be a new unlock in the last week of the year, which makes sense–Completionist Guise won’t be happy until he has -all- the variants.

Win games so that regular Guise has won at at least one game on a team with every hero variant other than Santa Guise and Collector Guise. Also, Guise must have won a game against each villain and villain variant.

Or better yet: Complete all achievements that end up in you unlocking a variant card.
To stop those who just click Unlock Variant. And to motivate me to actually complete the ones I unlocked before I got into actually doing the achievments.

I need Setting Sun: Ra to complete Team Indiscriminate Destruction, currently consisting of Extremist Sky-Scraper and KNYFE; two heroes with a total disregard for the safety of their teammates or themselves. They don't last long, but generally speaking their enemies don't either.

Problem with that is that all variants (currently) are unlocked during a game. If the condition is met before the game, there could be no unlock screen. Maybe that AND something else?

She deals herself more self damage than Setting Sun Ra. Oblivion also hits all targets regardless of anything else. Ra is only really hitting himself as well and not other hero targets unless you specifically target them.

If he were released at the same time as the final variant is released, then you would just get them at the same time. Perfectly doable.
Edit: And by the last one, I mean the last of the Oblivaeon content. After the Freedom Five and Setting Sun Ra, we'll have 12 more unlocks to complete the set: the alts for the 7 new heroes (6 reformed villains + Benchmark), the alts for the standalone Sentinels and good ol' Completionist Guise.

Will the 7 new heroes be unlocks? Normally, new decks are simply added as part of an update- they don't have to be unlocked. I am all for more unlocking fun, but that's not how new heroes and villains have been released in the past.

The jaded part of me gets the feeling that Setting Sun: Ra will be next meaning yet another week to wait for the team I've been waiting to see in the video game since I first played them on the table top over a year ago, Team Broken.

I was also going for theme -- Ra and KNYFE kinda don't care about breaking everything around them, while Extreme SS just can't help breaking everything. Extreme SS is just so gigantic that she breaks everything, while KNYFE is having a blast breaking everything and Setting Sun: Ra is basically, "Screw it, burn everything!" personified.
Faye, meanwhile, seems more deliberative and careful with her destruction. That's just the sense I get. Same reason I didn't include Haka and Setback -- yes, they have effects that harm their teammates, but they do care and generally try not to.

Indeed! It was a nice surprise during the Kickstarter when it was announced that every hero, even the new ones, would have at least one variant provided the stretch goals were reached.
So yeah, a total of 18 unlocks to go until we have our complete set…
Six variants to unlock this week
Eleven varaints to come later
One variant to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them.
