What, no topic from scifantasy within 5 minutes of the stream ending? :p

I tried a game where Fanatic destroyed every card in the Court of Blood's deck (be it by End of Days, by Consecrated Ground, or by beating it to death in various combinations), but that wasn't Xtreme enough. Nor was the fact that End of Days destroyed 42 cards. I think I'll keep tooling around in COB, that seems like a decent place to start...

Well, it was boosted by only 1 point of damage to make it a total of 30, but I tried this with Legacy, TLTachyon, Fanatic and PWAA vs. Ambuscade. No unlock, no dice…

First time poster, long time lurker.

I got the unlock, but can't offer a log unfortunately, as I was playing on my phone (screenshot here: https://imgur.com/a/PN7Gx)

Playing vs. Ambuscade in Court of Blood.

Legacy, F6 Tachyon, Dark Visionary, RC Wraith and Fanatic.

All Vampires entered play and were destroyed by Fanatic herself, and we finished up with Sacrosanct, Zealous Offense, Embolden and Undaunted, as well as both of her equipment cards (Edited for accuracy) in play, and with Fanatic dealing the final blow (though I'm not sure that's actually a part of the unlock since the other three don't seem to be dependent on that).

Other things which could be of note: Hunter Fulepet never entered play, Twist the Ether on Visionary meant that Fanatic was pumping out a tremendous amount of Radiant Damage. When Unhallowed Halls was out, she was using almost exclusively Infernal Damage to get the buff. If I can think of anything else that might be of use I'll edit this post.

Ok, so, I just got it. Vs Ambuscade in Court of Blood.

I had out Absolution, Martyr, Undaunted, Zealous Offense, and Divine Focus for much of the game.

Never used Martyr, and never saw Chastise, Embolden, or the Aegis.

I also killed every Vampire with Radiant damage, and destroyed one Hunter and one Mob with Consecrated Ground. Also, every target destroyed was done by Fanatic.

I suspect, however, that Divine Focus may be the key; defeat the villain while DF is in play, and deal a certain amount of Radiant damage?

Got the Unlock, I had absolution, Divine Focus and Undaunted in play. Other than that, I only used oneshots. Killed all the vampires with Radiant Damage, and Fantatic dealt the killing blow.

First attempt, no joy.

Ambuscade vs. TLTach, Legacy, Fanatic, and XPW Tempest in the Court.

Fanatic killed 5 vampires including Blood countess Bathory, mostly with radiant damage. (I think I used final Dive on one). Had Absolution, Focus, Undaunted, and Zealous Offense out at game end. Also played Brutal Censure and Divine Sacrifice during the game. Fanatic got the final hit. No  unlock.

I'm a little disappointed that my idea of 'do all the things to Vampires in Court of Blood' is probably correct, but I ruined it by playing End of Days.

I have what may be a useful non-unlock. RC Wraith / SS Tachyon / Visionary / Fanatic, Court of Blood, Gloomweaver.

- Fanatic destroyed each Vampire with Radiant damage (a couple of them twice, since the deck cycled).

- Fanatic only played one-shots and used her base power the entire match.

- It was a Relic victory and one Vampire had come back out into play just before the match ended.

So, I'm not sure what part of that was the problem - the lack of any ongoings (one person on Steam reports only having Undaunted out)? the fact that a vampire was active? The fact that the villain was not KO'd?

Court of blood, fanatic killed all vampires. Fanatic got the killing blow.

Did NOT get the unlock.

Variables were:

Fanatic killed one vampire with melee damage.

Fanatic killed one vampire with Final Dive.

Undaunted, sacrosanct martyr, Absolution, divine focus, Aegis in play.

Used: Wrathful retribution.

I suspect that killing all the vampires specifically with Radiant damage is the key.

Just played a game.  I made sure to kill every single Vampire with Radiant, and Fanatic got the killing blow with Radiant.

No unlock.

So it isn't JUST killing all the vampires with radiant.

She had Undaunted, Absolution, and Zealous Offense in play most of the game.  She never did play Divine Focus.

Did exact same thing with a few changes.

  • Never played Divine Retribution.

  • Killing blow was with Divine Focus

  • Never took damage from Divine focus.

Could it be related to Divine Sacrifice?

EDIT: No unlock, and i meant Wratheful Retribution

Just played a game, and got the unlock.  Here are the details.

Villain - Ambuscade

Environment - Court of Blood

Heroes

1.  Standard Fanatic

2.  Standard Legacy

3.  Rookv City Wraith

4.  Dark Visionary

Fanatics setup

1. Absolution

2. Aegis of Resurrection

3. Zealous Offense

4.  Divine Retribution

During the game, Fanatic had twist the Aether from Visionary, converting all damage to radiant.  RCW was used to speed up the environment, playing out all the Vampires.  Fanatic KO'd all vampires with radiant damage.  She was the only hero to KO a target, though one of the vampires KO'ed one of Ambuscade's guns.  She KO'ed the villain to win, using Divine Focus for the KO damage.  Divine Focus was only out at the end, and did not contribute a lot of damage to the effort at all.  The KO damage type was radiant.

From the looks of it so far everyone had Absolution on the board at least when they unlocked, so that may be a part of the puzzle.

When taking out environment targets, what powers did everyone attack them with?

When I unlocked, I did have Absolution and didn’t have Aegis. I destroyed vampires with both my base power and Absolution with all damage made radiant via Twist the Ether. I may have destroyed some vampires with one-shots, can’t recall.

I hope this isn't too long.  It details one non-unlock and one unlock.  The major difference seems to be that in the first one, I did _not_ kill all the vampires and in the second one, I did.  I don't have a log for the first, unfortunately.

Edit: thank you, notepad++ for not including my returns...  Trying to figure out how to not make this a block of text.

Okay, it needs a new comment, apparently?
Recorded as I played

Ambuscade
Fanatic, Visionary (to try to find Twist the Ether), Sky-Scraper (Incidentally, it's fun watching Ambuscade and his plating beat each other up over Compulsion Canister), Fugue State Parse (Between the Lines was almost as fun for getting radiant damage out of Fanatic as Neural Processing)

Fanatic Cards Played At Least Once: Undaunted, Holy Nova, Prayer of Desperation, Wrathful retribution for 9 points of radiant damage, Absolution, Consecrated Ground, Aegis (though I believe it was said this was NOT played on an unlock), Zealous Offense, Smite the Transgressor, Final Dive was played by Neural Processing but had no available target, Brutal Censure, Divine Focus, Sacrosanct Martyr (played, never used)

I am suddenly not sure whether I played Sanctifying Strike

Environment: Fanatic kills Drudge Ficko with Holy Nova (Damaged by the hunter previously), Fanatic kills Relict Dorotya with Absolution with radiant damage, Consecrated Ground destroyed Feast of Filth/did increased radiant damage to two vampires,  Fanatic used Absolution to kill Dame Katarina with Radiant damage, Fanatic used Absolution to kill Blood Countess Bathory with radiant damage, Sky-Scraper used Emergency Evac to remove Hunter Fulepet and Infecting an Heir (deliberately to see if it's just vampire slaughtering, though Infecting could count?), Fanatic used Brutal Censure to kill Matron Erzsi

Fanatic was not the only source of damage to the environment

Divine Focus killed Ambuscade just as the Dowager came out.

No unlock.  Never did find Twist the Ether; didn't manage to get the log in time (android)

Next

Ambuscade

Fanatic, Visionary, Fugue State Parse

Fanatic Cards Played At Least Once: Absolution, Aegis, Holy Nova, Divine Sacrifice (killed a Custom Hand-cannon, slapped automated turret), Undaunted, Final Dive (Turret thrown into another turret), Sacrosanct Martyr, Sanctifying Strike, Smite the Transgressor, Brutal Censure, Divine Focus (Was allowed to hit Fanatic at least once), Consecrated Ground (removed charged attacks, damaged Drudge Ficko, Hunter Fulpet, and Ambuscade), Zealous Offense, Consecrated Ground

Absolution mostly did radiant; it was once used to do fire damage once while Unhallowed Halls was out

Aegis saved Fanatic twice, but I don't believe this had anything to do with it.

Environment: Fanatic used Absolution to kill Angry Mob, Unhallowed Halls came into play (destroyed by Parse's Segmentation Fault), Fanatic used Sacrosanct Martyr to kill Blood Countess Bathory(did no damage to fanatic and 3 radiant to Blood Countess, thank you Undaunted!), Fanatic used Holy Nova to kill Dowager Ilona, Parse used Data-Mining to remove Feast of Flesh, Fanatic did the same Sacrosanct Martyr trick to kill Drudge Ficko, Fanatic used Holy Nova to kill Dame Katarina, Fanatic used Consecrated Ground to kill Hunter Fulepet then 11 radiant damage to kill Matron Erzsi and 1 radiant to ambuscade (thank you critical multiplyer), Fanatic used Absolution to killRelict Dorotya

 Fanatic killed every vampire once

Fanatic was not the only source of damage to the environment

Visionary was incapped

Game ended with Fanatic doing 26 radiant damage to Ambuscade with Brutal Censure thanks to Parse's Critical Multiplier.  This is not in the log (android, I had to grab it just before she played the card)

Unlocked

Thoughts: Fanatic killing all of the vampires, possibly also requiring radiant damage, seems to be a thing, and by extension, the Court of Blood.  If it's not just vampire slaughter, I suspect "a lot of radiant damage" (100+?) may be a requirement as well.  It could also be destroy 10 targets with radiant/fanatic?

Log attached, no unlock.

Fanatic played Absolution and End of Days, and no other Ongoing or Equipment cards.  She destroyed each Vampire with radiant damage from Absolution.  No other hero destroyed any vampires.  Fanatic did not destroy any other targets, including Ambuscade.  However, other heroes did damage vampires, and Fanatic did damage other targets, some of it with melee damage but most of it with radiant.  Angry Mob did not come out, and a different hero destroyed the Hunter.

You definitely did more than 100 radiant as well, so that's not it, at least not by itself.  I notice that you didn't play Divine Focus, but it did get drawn.  Could be the difference, along with other constraints?

Divine Focus does seem to have been played in all successful unlocks.  However, I believe I also had Fanatic destroy fewer total targets than any of the successful unlocks.  I'll try to repeat, changing only Divine Focus being played, and see what that does.

Got the unlock.

Pretty much the same recipe: Fanatic, Ambuscade, Court of Blood, kill vampires with Radiant.

Things I changed: Played Divine Focus, finished him with Wrathful Retribution

Notes: For sure the only things in play at the end were Absolution, Undaunted, and Zealous Offense.  I definitely did NOT play Embolden, Chastise, Sacrosanct Martyr, End of Days, Aegis of Resurrection, or Prayer of Desperation, so none of those should be required.

Forgot to copy my log before ending the game this time, but no unlock.  Divine Focus and Absolution were in play, but none of Fanatic's other ongoings or equipment were played, and she never dealt damage with Divine Focus.  Again, Fanatic destroyed no non-vampire targets, but she did destroy all vampires (one of them twice).  All other targets were destroyed by heroes, and they destroyed no vampires.  Legacy got the finishing blow against Ambuscade.  I don't believe I ever played Brutal Censure, so the "play all Radiant-damage one-shots" theory is not negated.

Got the unlock on Android as well.

Did pretty much the same thing, although I did NOT play Wrathful Retribution this time, so that's probably not required either.  Also, while Fanatic did kill every single vampire at least once, the deck reshuffled and one of them was in play when the game ended (and I got the unlock), so it looks like that won't prevent an unlock either.

Just played Fanatic/FS Parse/RC Wraith/Hunted Naturalist/Visionary Vs Apostate in Court of Blood.

Every vampire was killed by Fanatic with radiant damage, no vampires in play at the end of the game and Apostate was killed by Fanatic’s innate.
Cards that were played by during the game were: absolution, aegis, brutal censure, consecrated ground, holy nova, sanctifying strike, smite the transgressor, undaunted and wrathful retribution.

No unlock.

No divine sacrifice which means I didn’t get all the radiant damage one shots out, and no divine focus.

Got the unlock. Court, Radiant. I think it’s “Fanatic must destroy at least 10 targets with Radiant damage” and maybe “with Absolution dealing Radiant damage.”

Though I did have Undaunted out and Divine Favor was out for a while.

Got it. Court of blood against Ambuscade. Fanatic took no infernal damage and destroyed each vampire with radiant damage. Unduanted was in play as well but It may be that it helps with not taking infernal damage and as a result the people who unlocked it have had it in play.

It's not that.  I just played against Voss and met exactly those criteria.  Absolution and Divine Favor were out, but not Undaunted.  Fanatic killed 11 targets including Voss with radiant damage, though some not with Absolution.  But only a couple of those were vampires.

Good to know Divine Favor doesn't have to be out at the end of the game, though.

Combining my unlocks with some unlocks seen on Steam, the following cards are NOT required:

Embolden, Chastise, Sacrosanct Martyr, End of Days, Aegis of Resurrection, Prayer of Desperation, Wrathful Retribution, Santifying Strike, Smite the Transgressor, and Divine Sacrifice.

That leaves Zealous Offense, Undaunted, Absolution, Brutal Censure, Final Dive, Holy Nova, Consecrated Ground, and Divine Focus as possibly required.  Can anyone eliminate any of those?

I'm starting to think that it maybe has something to do with using Consecrated Ground at some point, possibly to specifically destroy Unhallowed Halls.

Got her. Ambuscade vs. RC Wraith, Legacy, Tempest, Fanatic, Haka in the Court of Blood.

Wraith milled the environment deck to hunt for vampires and played 2 Mega Computers to keep environment damage under control. Tempest/Wraith used environment-killing one shots to remove annoyances like Unhallowed Halls and Infecting an heir. Legacy made sure Fanatic had the damage boosts to slaughter vampires, and Haka played cleanup on Ambuscades deck.

Quick advice for folks looking to unlock this easily: Mass Levitation.

Even with Blood Countess Bathory's nemesis bonus against Fanatic, she can't deal more than 3 damage in a single hit. Just keep Mass Levitation up, fight a villain like Ambuscade who doesn't deal infernal damage, and use Rook City Wraith to get vampires in play, and you'll have zero difficulty getting this unlock. :D

RC Wraith was the MVP in my unlock.  Mega Computers, Grappling Hook to get rid of Unhallowed Halls, and base power to bring on the Vampires.  TLT gave everyone cards.  Grandpa Legacy, and XPW Argent Adept gave RC Wraith powers if no Vampires were out, else Fanatic.  Fanatic swept up the Vampires.

Got her. Legacy, RC Wraith, Dark Visionary, XPWAA and Fanatic. Legacy for the power boost, RC Wraith for the megacomputers and getting vampires out, DV on villain control and Twist the Ether duties, XPWAA to get Fanatic extra card plays and powers, vs. Ambuscade.

With all the damage boosts she had, Fanatic all but killed Ambuscade on her own after wrecking the last vampire.

Yep, I feel like we got lucky with this one.  We were on the right track with killing all the vampires, but priceyprovinces coming up with the "no infernal damage" thing was inspired.  I got it using Final Dive on one of the vampires, so destroying them with damage at all, let alone radiant damage, was definitely completely wrong.

Rook City Wraith is definitely hugely helpful for all the ways described above.  Bringing along at least one of Visionary (for Mass Levitation) and/or Haka (for Enduring Intercession) and/or The Sentinels (for Human Shield) to prevent accidental infernal damage from going to Fanatic is strongly advised.  Greatest Legacy and/or any Argent Adept are handy to give Fanatic more opportunities to kill vampires.

Antelope Naturalist with Environmental Allies is a pretty quick way to guarantee the environment isn't messing with you, and then The Naturalist can spend the rest of the game doing what he does best.

I feel bad for Ambuscade. Based on a lot of these threads, he's usually the go-to person to smack around to unlock variants.

My go to matchup for unlocking variants is Dark Visionary, AA, and Team Leader Tachyon, plus whomever the necessary hero is, and a flexible fifth depending on the requirements who is usually either Wraith, Grampa Legacy, or Parse, against Grand Warlord Voss.  He's nice, predictable, deals no damage if you keep him on his front side, and even his two ships and Forced Deployment aren't too hard to handle.

I used RC Wraith, and age was useful for getting rid of non-vampire cards, but the stand outs for me were Parse and Naturalist.

Naturalist kept the vampires under control and Parse’s exploit vulnerabilities and critical multipliers meant Fanatic could cut through vampires like soft butter.
They’re possibly two of my favourite decks to use currently too, especially with their variants, so I throw them in wherever I can.

He's a bad choice for just about any unlock, because unless you have reliable, early ongoing destruction (which is impossible – only one character has Ongoing destruction as a base power, but he still requires certain cards in hand to activate it), you're playing with a time limit.

And even if you have tons of ready ongoing destruction, he has a card that pulls out several Ongoings at once, so you can't really avoid the countdown.

Ambuscade, however, you can stall indefinitely. He can only win through doing damage (which is easily manageable), and he never destroys any of your stuff. So if there's a particular set-up you need for an unlock, you can do it with him no problem.

Jeysie already covered that

Yeah, that was a crazy stroke of good luck (along with some related stuff like Downpour and the Crest) that amounted to one amusingly cheap game against Deadline. Not recommended to rely upon as a regular tactic, though. ;P

Even so I don't feel Deadline overall is that hard of a villain to control for these unlocks and I have used him in unlocks which aren't villain specific.  If it does require something from the environment then I will use Voss or Ambuscade typically.

The big issue with using Deadline is taht he can deal infernal damage.

My “go to” is generally Gloomweaver, but I’ve thrown Ambuscade, Blade, and even Matriarch into the mix based off what I’m trying to do. I think I’ve used Deadline on some as well… really just depends on what the specific conditions are (or what I think they are if they’re unknown at the time).

I got my unlock vs. Voss using Legacy, Haka, Captain Cosmic, and XPW AA (and Fanatic, obviously.) A pair of Energy Bracers + Undaunted made Fanatic mostly untouchable, Legacy gave Fanatic the damage to kill the vampires quickly, and Haka kept the villain side clear.

Probably took a lot longer than it should have, but an unlock is an unlock.

I chose Fanatic and Court of Blood and then hit random. I got Naturalist, America's Greatest Legacy and Fanatic against Voss. Naturalist practically does the entire thing himself. He tanks the damage, nullifies the environment, (Environmental Allies) kills off the minions (Cornered Beast)  and then locks down the villain deck. (Hyperactive Senses) With a huge card draw, he sets up quickly and gets what he needs just as fast. The vampires and heroes joined forces to beat back the alien menace, for which Fanatic thanked them by burning them out with unholy fire. But she got an awesome new outfit for doing it, so it's cool.

I found a bug.

Fanatic destroyed each vampire, but used Final Dive to destroy Drudge Ficko. I didn’t get the unlock. The environment never did any damage because of Natural Allies.

It appears that the unlock doesn’t count using Final Dive and “destroying” the card, even though Final Dive says “destroy a target with 4 HP or less.”

Do you have a game log by chance?

What villain did you play against?

Ambuscade. Grandpa Legacy, Dark Visionary, Hunted Naturalist, RC Wraith, Redeemer Fanatic.

I re-checked the conditions, and it appears that I used the wrong Fanatic. The unlock condition says “regular fanatic,” and I used Redeemer fanatic.

EDIT: tried again with regular fanatic and got the unlock.
