According to the Fall of the Variants page, it's the Captain's turn.

My first guess, which I am about to test: win a game in Insula Primalis where Captain Cosmic plays every type of his constructs.

I doubt it, though.

As expected, no dice on that. I played every Construct--though I admit I Cataclysm'd them in the last round--against Ambuscade in Insula Primals, but no unlock.

But did you USE every Construct? For AA, just playing the songs wasn’t enough; you had to ACTIVATE them, too!

Alternatively, my theory involves dealing a whole bunch of energy damage. Stack those swords and… other swords up on Captain Cosmic, go triple-siphon, and try to use all 6 instances of damage in one turn!

I've been tooling around with Infinitor / Heroic Infinitor battles, but they're really hard to control by the nature of Infinitor's deck. I've got a couple of specific ideas, but I haven't managed to get them to happen yet.

Well, it doesn't sem to be: Equip 3 Autonomous Blades to CC and destroy a target with each blade in one turn/round.

I just played a game against Ambuscade in Insula Primalis, during which I achieved several things.

When the game ended, all heroes were alive. XPW AA was in the first slot, normal CC in the second.

All heroes had at least one Construct on them.

At least one of each Construct was in play, as was Unflagging Animation and Destructive Response.

All 3 Weapons, Siphons, and Blades were on CC, and on one turn I triggered every single Construct I had out, including Wounding Buffer, Energy Bracer, and all 3 Siphons, which triggered all 3 Weapons. (Chokeslam FTW) (Crest did not get activated that turn, because Sky-Scraper doesn’t do energy damage)

Ambuscade got obliterated, but CC did not get the finishing blow. He brought him down to 2, though.

No unlock.

So either I needed to kill him, or I’m not on the right track. Or there’s some other requirement I’m just missing. But that was my best guess, and since it didn’t work, I’ll just have to wait until someone else solves it I guess.

Since the last one was in IP, tried that, and then also tried Ambuscade in Atlantis, attempting to activate every construct during a game, plus deal 50+ damage with constructs/Captain Cosmic. Went through his whole run of constructs and blowing them up a couple of times in each environment.

No unlock.

not that it really holds any bearing, but thinking about it this way: using only vocalize to use every rhythm/harmony/melody is AA's deck and winning, brings to mind the idea of getting his voicebox ready for a lot of screaming.

Xtreme CC's power is do a lot of pinging damage (1+1+1+1+1+1+1 kinda thing). so maybe it's to use his constructs to damage a bunch of things with little bits of damage? gonna try a fight with Power Rock Ballad AA, CC, and probably the rest of the Prime Wardens and see about hitting all the minnions for a bit of damage to see what happens.

I was figuring it would be something about Constructs dealing damage, either dealing a certain amount or dealing the finishing blow to a villain. (Maybe Infinitor?) Sky-Scraper could be helpful with the former, since she can induce damage-dealing.

doing the finishing blow was the unlock for the PW's CC, and i'm pretty sure they won't be "doubling up" on unlock conditions (ignoring the F6 ALL NEEDING TO LOSE TO Iron Legacy!) but it's worth a try, i mean, what's the worst that happens? nothing?

I played around by locking down Infinitor with Haka in Time Cataclysm. Made sure to have CC as the highest HP target and thus be hit by Tendrils of Madness, then had him unload on Infinitor for the killshot after getting all his constructs out. No luck.

Consider the following:

We've been analyzing the PWX as variants of the Prime Wardens.  However, in-universe, wouldn't we expect that they'd have their own unique backstories?  We've seen an AA who learned to just SCREAM ALL THE TIME because he was stranded on an island with no other source of music.  What if we need to see a CC who, surrounded by his enemies, cheated death, but payed the price of sanity?  This is my current theory: CC deals himself "fatal" damage while Fixed Point is in play.  Probably has a bunch of Constructs in play for good measure.  Because PWX CC has Judge Mental on his flip side, I'll see about a team game with CC vs. Judge Mental.

UPDATE: It's hard to time your death in Vengeance Mode, so I'm also considering two other things: CC killing Heroic Infinitor (it may be evil but it's certainly Xtreme), and having ALL the Constructs in play.  Not just each type, but literally every construct in your deck.

UPDATE THE SECOND: Neither of the UPDATE things worked, even when I did a massive, 22-damage Construct Cataclysm. I still haven't tested the first bit because again, it's hard to make ANYTHING happen like it's supposed to in Vengeance mode.

I was also wondering about killing Heroic Infinitor. After all, we want a nasty Xtreme Captain Cosmic and having Infinitor get snuffed would likely do it.

I beat Heroic Infinitor the nice way with Argent Adept, Captain Cosmic and Knife in Insula Primus. No unlock.

I'm hoping beating Heroic Infinitor's flipside is not involved because that would arguably be even worse than DW Setback's unlock. (I beat him once that way with AZ, Bunker, Fixer, Expat, and Nightmist, and it only worked because it was in Wagner Mars Base with Meteor Storm so I could set up a ton.)

I can confirm it does not, at least according to my experience. And it turns out that if you stall him for 20 turns before you flip him, it's pretty easy (after all, ALL the Constructs were in play).

The environment was important for AA’s unlock. I habe no idea why IP was the place other than that is where the ground is warm.

This leads me to think place might be important for CC too, but where? I doubt IP because it was used last time.

I also think havinf Extreem AA on the team will be required as that was the way it went for the prime wardens variants.

A Redditor got the unlock this time: https://www.reddit.com/r/sentinelsmultiverse/comments/6zrd3y/xtreme_prime_wardens_captain_cosmic/dmyrc8c/

Looks like it was Captain Cosmic, Hunted Naturalist, F6 Tempest, FS Parse vs Voss in Enclave of the Endlings. Cosmic's turn, Voss was defeated.

Just in case there's story based prerequisites this time, I've been going through the story elements some.

Prime Wardens lost to Progeny in IP. Then beat a team that included Biomancer, now with CC in the lead position.

Also beat Infinitor -- both alternates, with CC in the lead position, and successfully activating every construct. No unlock.

Got it:

Grand Warlord Voss, in the Enclave of the Endlings.

Chained together a bunch of construct damage with normal CC in the lead position, activated every construct during the game at least once, and finished Voss off on Omnitron's turn with a Construct Cataclysm for 18 damage.

Sounds very similar to AA's then: in the right environment, do all the things.  I was trying to do exactly this in Dok'Thorath, guessing that CC's would be on another planet but apparently guessing the wrong one.

Tried it via Ambuscade (there was a successful post on Steam using that).  I specifically avoided using Cataclysm but basically had CC as my only damage dealer to test if it's about him dealing lots of energy damage and/or constructs dealing damage (thanks to Autonomous Blade), but no unlock.  Thus, maybe Cata is required.

Just got the unlock, on my final turn, I used exactly 2 Augemented Ally's to use 2 Cosmic Weapons, and all 3 Autonomous Blades, and then I finished him with a 16 points  Cataclysm, so at least we know it doesn't require all 3 Ally/Weapons on the final turn.

Steam has reports of unlocks that didn’t end on CC’s turn. I suspect it’s have dealt a certain amount of damage with a Cataclysm, or maybe have destroyed a certain number of Constructs with one. Enclave is a yes though.

I just got the unlock without CC dealing the final blow, and where I Cataclysm’d for a low damage output. (Dealt the 3-to-many and stopped after like three targets.)

I suspect it’s either “play at least one of each Construct,” “destroy at least X Constructs with Cataclysm,” or “deal X energy damage over the course of the game” (all the Autonomous Blades and Wounding Buffers still add up to lots of damage). Or maybe “destroy one of each with Cataclysm.”

The point is, we can rule out CC dealing the winning hit, and “at least X damage at once/from Cataclysm” (the highest damage number from CC was 5, from a Potent Disruption).

I am sensing a theme here.  I considered mentioning it upon XPWAA, but I thought I'd wait until XPWCC was found to be sure...

XPWAA was unlocked via taking AA to the extreme of his power in an Environment that represents the extremity of nature, which he is strongly tied to.  XPWCC appears to be unlocked by taking his gimmick, the Constructs, to some sort of extreme in an Environment at the extremity of space, which he is also strongly tied to.

Does this mean the the environments for the other Extreme Prime Wardens is taking their powers to extreme levels in an extreme environment tied to their nature?

I could certainly see Haka needing to be in The Final Wasteland or even Magmaria (As he wanders the Earth and the Earth's core would certainly be an approiate extreme).  Fanatic's Environment would most likely be The Court of Blood using this logic.  Tempest's could be Dok'thorath Capital, or even Atlantis.

Perhaps this will help with the unlocks in further weeks...

I think Cataclysm is a must. My first game I did a BUNCH of damage, to no avail. I think you have to do something like play and destroy at least one of each Construct. Probably with Cataclysm.

I got it, but nothing new to report.  Voss, Enclave, played at least one of each type of construct, nuked them all to a Cataclysm, finished him off with a Rebel Yell from Guise, aided and abetted by a score (literally) of Critical Multipliers.

JO

It is not destroying each of his Constructs with Cataclysm.

I just got the unlock.  I specifically only played 7 of his 8 Constructs before playing Cataclysm.  Cataclysm destroyed 13 Constructs (many duplicates, and one destroyed twice via Sustained Influence.  I then played his final Construct and won the match and it unlocked.

So my current working theory is that it is:

Win a game in Enclave of the Endlings with the regular Captain Cosmic on the team. Captain Cosmic must put each of his unique Constructs into play and must have destroyed 10 or more (or thereabouts) Counstructs with Construct Cataclysm.

Other things that we might need to test are:

  • Could Conservation of Energy be used instead of Construct Cataclysm?
  • Can we narrow down exactly how many Constructs need to be destroyed?

Edit:  Just adding my log file

Edit 2: The one that I put into play after the Cataclysm was Augmented Ally.

Failed again, cosmic, Ra, Visionary,  Tachyon vs. Chokepoint in the Enclave.

Had all 8 constructs in play, destroyed them with a Cataclysm for the win. It was fire dmg, thanks to Ra.

Edit, expanding on above thoughts, 1 duplicate,  so 9 destroyed by the cataclysm.

ExtreeemAA, Cap Cosmic, Grampa Legacy and OX against Ambuscade in EoEndlings

I used the other three to activate Cap's powers and give him card plays. Got everycard in play on Cap and exach card was used once. Slammera played cataclysm for me so my guess is

Win a game in the Enclave of the Endlings with base Captain Cosmic on the team. Captain Cosmic must play each one of his constructs on himself and activate or cause each construct to be activated at least once.

UNLOCKED

Team: SS Tachyon, Captain Cosmic, FS Parse

Environment: Enclave of Endlings

Villain:  Ambuscade

Captain Cosmic did the following

- Had 15 Constructs in play, all but one were on him.

- Used Construct Cataclysm do destroy them all.

- 1 Sustained Influence was in play (This amde the damage from Construct Cataclysm 16.

- Had Destructive Response in play. This triggered the Autonomous blades.

- Ambuscade was still standing.

- Parse then used Neural Processing to make CC play Harsh Offense. This incapped Ambscade.

- Cannot recall of i used Cosmic Weapon, but I think i did.

I'm going to throw this out here

WIn a game in the Enclave of the Endlings and deal 20 energy damage in one round using cards from Captain Cssmic's deck

Unlocked!

Team: CC (regular), XPWAA, SantaGuise, FS Parse, OX

I played constructs on all of my team, pretty much just how I would play regular CC (AA has dynamic siphon, Augment ally on parse etc. Etc.) CC never had all of his constructs on him, but all different types were in play at some point. Ended up doing construct cataclysm twice, once for 12 and another timeon a later turn for 8. On the first cataclysm I also used destructive response hit for 13 due to Critical Multiplier. Maybe it’s:

Play Captain Cosmic in the Enclave of the Endlings and have home deal 15 or More energy damage in one turn.

This one doesn't seem to tie into his XPW power at all.  It's just XTREME.  Unfortunately, that makes the other three harder to guess, since they don't have a signature card type to the extent that AA and CC have.  I'm guessing it will be something like:

  • XPW Fanatic: In the Court of Blood, win a game after having Fanatic deal a certain amount of damage to herself (10 seems reasonable, 15-20 would be XTREME).
  • XPW Haka: In some thematic environment (Final Wasteland?  Tomb of Anubis?), redirect X damage to Haka using Enduring Intercession.  (Use all the Haka cards was part of his Eternal Haka unlock condition, so not that, although it could still be "discard X cards to fuel Haka cards.")
  • XPW Tempest: In some thematic environment (Atlantis? Dok'Thorath?), do... something.  Honestly no idea, since his gimmick is his weather cards and his regular Prime Wardens unlock covered that pretty well.  Do X each of cold, lightning, and projectile damage maybe?

I have a feeling that Haka's one will probably be in Final Wasteland or Magamaria (the Earth's core is a nice extreme for Haka).  Tomb of Anubis doesn't really seem extreme enough.  As for the method, I'd assume Savage Mana might be the important aspect.

I used the following team for both XPWAA and XPWCC in the following order and vs. Ambuscade:

  1. AA/CC
  2. Dark Visionary
  3. Super Scientific Tachyon
  4. Grandpa Legacy
  5. Ra

Dark Visionary stacks the bottom of the unlockee's deck so that Super Scientific Tachyon can put pairs of the needed cards into play.  Grandpa Legacy gives extra power usages for whoever needs them.  Ra is just there for damage output so that it's easy to kill off Ambuscade once you've achieved the unlock conditions.
