So the latest Kickstarter update for Season 2 says to expect something "xtreme" around GenCon. I think we all know what this means...
Obviously, it's Benchmark.
Seriously, though, excited for the Xtreme Prime Wardens. I especially can't wait to read what bios they come with.

I am super-hyped for this, if only because I expected them to be a way late addition. :D That means Haka, Tempest and Fanatic will have all their variants in the digital game!

Nice idea! Jean-Marc should break out an SPC700 and/or YM2612 emulator and make 16-bit versions of everything, to be '90's authentic.

The Xtreme Prime Wardens would be sweet :)
Tempest: Interesting effect although the prime wardens variant is always my choice^^
Captain Cosmic: My least favourite hero right now although this variant might be interesting. I am still waiting for the fused variant <3
Haka: This seems to be a very interesting power, I like if powers favor different playstyles
Argent Adept: The AA will be effective right from the beginning
Fanatic: We're gonna like holy nova in team matches even more :)
PS. Do we know if GTG/Handelabra already started to work on challenge modes for the remaining villains?

Xtreme Captain Cosmic is awesome, though! Granted, this comes from someone who really doesn't like playing standard CC, but it's so great to be able to put Constructs out and immediately get use from them. If you have an Autonomous Blade, put it on yourself and pile on the damage! Do ludicrous things with even a +1! Or, if you're really struggling to keep Constructs in play for a round, set out a Dynamic Siphon on someone and activate it a couple times with your power! :)
I'm really passionate about the possibilities because this is one of the two foil-release variants that's turned a hero from least to most favorite for me. (The other is Visionary Unleashed.)

Out of the grouping I'm looking forward to the Fanatic variant. I really wish the Haka variant had wording that he regained health when any damage was redirected to him so that Enduring Intercessiom might be more of a viable card with that version.

Can't you use it on yourself, so that damage redirected to you by Intercession is then redirected to you by Die Hard, granting you the heal? I thought that was how it worked.

I don't believe so. Enduring Intercession is redirecting the damage to Haka not his base power which is what trigger the health gain. Along with the fact if he is the original target he wouldn't regain health since it wa never redirected.

I legit can't wait to read the XPW bios. Or wait to see the background arts. Or hear Argent's new sound. Like, I am all squee about this. :D
The wording I see on the wiki is "; whenever Haka is dealt damage, he regains 1 HP". So why would this not work with Enduring Intercession?
BO

The discrepency is because the foil card says "Whenever he takes damage this way", meaning that it has to be from damage redirection caused by the power and not by Enduring Intercession.
(The art on the wiki uses images from the proofs playtesters got, and a few corrections were made to cards like X-Treme Haka before they went to the printer.)

Nice to see we already have the portraits and cutscene messages for them. I love Argent and Haka's art, and Cosmic's standard cutscene message was incredibly hilarious. Look forward to seeing more tastes in future streams, I hope.

I’m with Takewalker. X Cap Cosmic may be the best version yet. Give someone 2 power uses right now, or maybe 4 life, or just pile on the damage. He is now useful in games where previously constructs couldn’t stick around. He works so well with his team it is awsome. And if he gets combos going on himself, watch out! Cosmic Crest + Dynamic Syphon start it out, add in Cosmic Weapon, Autonomous Blade, and Vitality Conduit and it gets out of hand. So many possibilities…

From what I've found, the four versions of Captain Cosmic have very different uses. Here's my experience with them:
Base: You like playing cards and don't mind if they don't stick around. You'll slowly fill the board with Constructs unless something is targeting them. You've got the best chance of any Captain Cosmic to set yourself up for a long game.
Prime Wardens: You hate losing your Constructs and want to punish anyone who dares touch them. Your play flow is considerably slower than any other Captain Cosmic, except for that one turn when a Construct dies and then sho golly nelly in the fritter I reckon
Requital: You like playing cards. You aren't too concerned about which ones. You aren't too concerned about taking damage. You will quickly flood the board with Constructs, only to lose them all the round after. You aren't too concerned about that, either. When you finally succumb to your own hubris, fun things happen.
Xtreme: You want to get some use out of your Constructs right now. You're more interest in dealing damage than supporting your team, though you can do that too, if you're a nerd. Mostly, you enjoy showboating, and you got stuck playing a hero who otherwise can't really showboat.
Me, I prefer either of the Prime Wardens versions because I like showboating. :V

There’s one little snag though, as soon as you put out cosmic crest, he can’t use his base power on his own constructs unless he’s got Twist the Ether on himself.

Fugue State Parse was already from the OblivAeon Kickstarter, so that plan fell apart already.
We still have Requital Captain Cosmic, Setting Sun Ra, the F5 team, Extremist Sky-Scraper, and Completionist Guise in addition to Dark Conductor and Visionary Unleashed. (Bot CR wasn't.)

Yeah, it's debatable what qualifies as Oblivaeon. I assume any heroes that have an Oblivaeon nemesis icon are off limits, but variants of others, I dunno.

Looking at the splash art, am I right in saying the only variants not shown are for heroes that are unreleased and Completionist Guise?
Also, wonder what they'll do with Dark Conductor Argent Adept when it comes to foil/non-foil art. I know that we'll eventually have non-foil art versions of all the promos that ship with OblivAeon (and Handelabra will put them in when they have the assets), but his non-foil version is Kvothe.

Presumably the upcoming non-foil hero pack for the paper version will give us alternate non-foil art for Evil Anthony (can I suggest that as a nickname? I'm suggesting that as a nickname), same as the other variants like the XPWs that currently only have foil art.

When they've discussed the foil pack and the variant pack they've showed the same artwork. We will get some new "originals" with the variants that are new to OblivAeon as they've stated in the KS but Dark Conductor isn't a new variant with OblivAeon it was originally a charity item.

It's the Argent Adept indeed! We have no bio for him for hints! Good luck!
Edit: Actually, we do have a screen with a partial bio:
Five years before Progeny surfaced in Algeria, the ground at its eventual point of appearance began to warm from a heat from deep in the ground. That point of heat was unnoticed for years, but it gradually grew warmer and hotter to the point that the sand on the surface burst into flames. The Argent Adept of the Prime Wardens sensed the imbalance in the natural order and the team made their way to that point to investigate. There, they faced off against Progeny, who ultimately left the battlefield after making short work of most of the team.
... which is unfortunately about the Xtremes in general and not AA in particular. There's more below, which we can't see.
Also, they said there aren't quite enough variants to last the whole rest of the year, so I'm guessing Completionist Guise won't make it until the very end.
