Ultimate Cosmic Omnitron on Mars, with Horus Ra, Prime Wardens Haka, Team Leader Tachyon, and Freedom Six Wraith.

Cool, minty cheese. I thought I was toast when Ra went down on turn 2–that opening salvo from Cosmitron is a doozy, and forgetting the Interpolation Beams didn’t help. But I did manage to flip him on turn 1 thanks to a Fire Blast and another trick or two, and once everyone was incapacitated but Tachyon, I managed to assemble a steady-state condition–behind a Meteor Swarm, using the Wraith to put Adaptive Subroutine on top of the villain deck every turn, building up Tachyon’s damage thanks to Haka. When I had enough boosted, not to mention all 19 Burst cards in her trash, Ra dropped the Swarm and a huge set of damage dealings took out Cosmitron.

Not how I’d recommend the battle, it was pretty boring and, as I said, all cheese. But it did work.

I got Mint, but I did NOT expect to. Ultimate Cosmitron is TOUGH.

Wraith went down early, and everyone was down to really low single digits when I was saved by a timely meter storm.

I got everyone back up around 9 or so, and just before his last 3 cards – one of which was a drone, so he was guaranteed to play the Sedative Flechettes – I stuck him in a loop of playing Adaptive Plating over and over again, while defending with Ground Pound and Hypersonic Assault.

On the last round, Tachyon brought him from 34 to 1, and got lasered to death, so Ra gave him the angry eyes to finish off the game.

Super tough, but surprisingly doable.

Also, it’s definitely Meteor STORM, not SWARM. They aren’t bugs.

Mint thanks to Meteor Storm.... Tachyon last hero standing at 3 HP.

RIP mint streak at 26, but I'll never feel bad about losing to Challenge Cosmitron. His condition is just silly.

The intent may well be to survive to Meteor Storm, but despite several rounds of complete damage prevention, we never got there. The second Fire in the Biosphere did just enough damage for Cosmitron to take out Haka and Tachyon. If Tach had had one more HP and the next card was indeed Meteor Storm, I would have been fine.

So, next time I will give her an additional HP when I use Haka of Restoration, but the big difference appears to be how I handled the environment. I'll have to change what I do with the incap powers on Ra and Wraith the first time they come around. While what I did resulted in 0 damage to my group and 0 drones coming out, it obviously didn't help in the end.

Yeah, no, that's not easy. Not at all. Never saw a Meteor Storm, so I don't know how this can be done.

It is brutal, but I pulled a Near-Mind.

The first time I fell into the game's trap. I played Ra's Imbued Fire in the belief that I could get out Ongoing destruction by the time Omnitron became fire-immune, and hit him for 5 including a throat punch. Then the environment played a damage-boosted Fire in the Biosphere and wiped Omni's board, which led Omni to play a bunch of murderous drones and become immune to fire, and then I rapidly died.

The second time, I was a hell of a lot cagier. I focused on getting Haka all of the card draw, and incidentally killing the Wraith. Tachyon's redirections and Haka's Haka of Shielding kep them alive, but Ra and Wraith died very fast. Then it was easy. Wraith kept flipping Omnitron's Adaptation thingie to the top of its deck, while Haka kept drawing cards and alternating between Hakas of Shielding and Ground Pounds, with Tachyon's Hypersonic Assaults to break up the monotony. Once the Meteor Storm dropped, I had time to build up my board, since again, dead Wraith meant no more card plays for Omnitron ever again.

Sloggy near-mint.  Tried for Haka & Tachyon, only had Tachyon.

Came out from under Meteor Storms to kill off bots and deliver chunks of damage, not wanting to turtle through ~50 uses of Haka's incap.

Near Mint because I had to Undo a couple of dumb mistakes.

I found this one to be all about the card draw.  Sacrifice everyone and everything to get Tachyon drawing Hypersonic Assaults and Synaptic Interruptions.  That and Wraith's opening Throat Jab should tide you over until the Meteor Storm comes out.  Having Ra incapacitated is hugely valuable, though, since it lets you recycle a useless card (I chose Technological Singularity).

I would have gotten the Skin of Your Teeth achievement, except I'd gotten logged out of GameCircle.

I thought I was dead when I had Tachyon at 4HP, everyone else Incapped and Omnitron at 80-some. Managed to Mint by alternating between Hypersonic Assault and Synaptic Interruption until a Meteor Storm showed up. After that it was a slog and hoping Fire in the Biosphere wouldn’t show up more than once.

Looks like my game was the same as everyone else's. First game I tried to lock down Omnitron with Ground Pound and Self-Destruct Sequence, but I turtled too long and it was only a matter of time before Sedative Flechettes came out and the drones killed everyone.

Second game, I realized that incap abilities were needed to lock down Omnitron, and Ra got to 1 all on his lonesome, but I just have a hard time offing my own teammates so I let him live and even healed him to 7 using 2xStaff of Ra. And then Omnitron took out everyone but Tachyon who had 3 hp left. Ra took Adaptive Subroutine from the trash and put it on top of the deck and Wraith kept it there for the rest of the game. I buried Fire in the Bio-Sphere under Self Destruct Sequence and had Haka and Ra skip a few turns to ensure it stayed buried. Tachyon used Blinding Speed to destroy some of the other environment cards under Self Destruct Sequence to make sure these damage dealing cards were put right at the bottom of the Self Destruct Sequence pile. I threw Pervasive Red Dust under there as well so I could keep Tachyon's HUD goggles out. Ra skipped his turns for the rest of the game to keep the Self Destruct Sequence pile constant, which kept the environment in check.

With all the card draws from Haka's incap ability, Research Grant and Fleet of Foot, Tachyon easily kept a supply of Hypersonic Assaults and Synaptic Interruptions on the board. With the villain and environment decks kept in check, there was nothing left but to beat on the oversized trash compactor until the end.

Near Mint.

Following up - indeed, all I needed to do was do something else with Ra's incap turn the first time it came around. If I'd drawn a card for Tach, it would have been Hypersonic Assault. If I'd skipped his turn entirely, I would have buried Fire in the Biosphere and received Meteor Storm instead. That one change turned a death in 4 rounds into an easy, but sloggy, victory with Haka and Tachyon both in the 20s by the end as I built up using Hakas. Near Mint.

Fine.

Did the same as others, hiding behind the Meteor Storm. Took a while to wrap my brain around the ordering of how to come out of the storm to win.

Haka at 2HP, Tachyon at 9HP. Ra and Wraith incapped.
